This paper presents a current mode integrated control technique (CM-ICT) using a modified voltage space vector modulation (MSVM) for Z-source inverter (ZSI) fed induction motor drives. MSVM provides a better DC voltage boost in the dc-link, a wide range of AC output voltage controllability and a better line harmonic profile. In a voltage mode ICT (VM-ICT), the outer voltage feedback loop alone is designed and it enforces the desired line voltage to the motor drive. An integrated control technique (ICT), with an inner current feedback loop is proposed in this paper for the purpose of line current limiting and soft operation of the drive. The current command generated by the PI controller and limiter in the outer voltage feedback loop, is compared with the actual line current, and the error is processed through the PI controller and a limiter. This limiter ensures that, the voltage control signal to the Z-source inverter is constrained to a safe level. The rise and fall of the control signal voltage are made to be gradual, so as to protect the induction motor drive and the Z-source inverter from transients. The single stage controller arrangement of the proposed CM-ICT offers easier compensation. Analysis, Matlab/Simulink simulations, and experimental results have been presented to validate the proposed technique.
In this study, an improved LCCT(Inductor-Capacitor-Capacitor-Trans) Z-source inverter(Improved LCCT ZSI) with characteristics of Quasi Z-source inverter(QZSI) and LCCT Z-source inverter(LCCT ZSI) is proposed. The proposed inverter can also reduce the voltage stress and input current/capacitor voltage ripples compared with conventional LCCT ZSI and Quasi ZSI. A two winding trans in Z-impedance network of the conventional LCCT ZSI is replaced by a three winding trans in the proposed inverter. To verify the validity of the proposed inverter, a DSP controlled hardware was made and PSIM simulation was executed for each method. Comparing the current and voltage ripples of each method under the condition of input DC voltage 70[V] and output AC voltage 76[Vrms], the input current and capacitor voltage ripple factors of the proposed inverter were low as 11[%] and 1.4[%] respectively. And, for generation of the same output AC voltage of each method, voltage stress of the proposed inverter was low as 175[V] under the condition of duty ratio D=0.15. As mentioned above, we could know that the proposed inverter have the characteristics of low voltage stress, low ripple factor and low operation duty ratio compared with the conventional methods. Finally, the efficiency according to load change/duty ratio and the transient state characteristics were discussed.
In this paper, we compose of the stepdown chopper and the current source inverter. Because dc side current of the current source inverter pulse with twice frequency of utility, we control that modulation factor of chopper is pulsed twice frequency. Therefore if voltage across the dc reactor equal to zero, it tis decreased. And we control modulation factor of the chopper to operate at maximum power point around of solar cell.

This paper discusses a triple stage current source GTO inverter system for high power motor drives. The energy rebound circuit of the triple stage inverter not only controls the spike voltage of the GTO inverter but also facilitates PWM control of the thyristor rectifier operated at unity fundamental input power factor. Based on Pspice simulation and experiments, the principles and PWM pulse pattern for removing specific lower harmonics in the inverter's output current are discussed in detail.
This paper presents a power supply of railway signal system using a Z-source inverter. The Z-source inverter overcomes the conceptual and theoretical barriers and limitations of the tradition voltage-source inverter and current-source inverter and provides novel power conversion concept. The Z-source inverter is a Buck-Boost inverter that has a wide range of obtainable voltage.
The V/F slip frequency constant control methods are used for driving induction motor with load commutated current source inverter, that is. constant V/F and slip frequency driving is used to load commutate the inverter below the critical frequency, while constant voltage and variable frequency and slip frequency driving are used in above the critical region. In order to applicate the load commutated current source inverter to the general use, speed control range of induction noter is selected to two times at rated frequency. Therefore, economical application is possible because of the maximum reduction of the condenser of the inverter output port. The use of the proposed force commutated circuit improves the false operation of force commutated circuit and inverter commutation failure which are produced by the influence of the lower-order harmonics of the conventional load commutated current source inverter at starting.
Induction heating can convert electrical energy to thermal energy with high conversion efficiency and quick heating. Currently, a current source rectifier/inverter-fed parallel resonant circuit is widely used as an induction heating power supply for forging applications. However, the conventional induction heating power supplies composed of phase-controlled rectifier and SCR inverter have low efficiency and low power factor at input side, and require additional starting circuitry. So this paper proposes new induction heating power supply topologies for forging applications which have high power factor, high efficiency, and large output power. It also suggests detailed design guideline.
We present a two-stage inverter with high step-up conversion ratio engaging modified finite-set Model Predictive Control (MPC) for utility-integrated photovoltaic (PV) applications. The anticipated arrangement is fit for low power PV uses, the calculated efficiency at 150 W input power and 19 times boosting ratio was around 94%. The suggested high-gain dc-dc converter based on Cockcroft-Walton multiplier constitutes the first-stage of the offered structure, due to its high step-up ability. It can boost the input voltage up to 20 times. The 3S current-source inverter constitutes the second-stage. The 3S current-source inverter hires three semiconductor switches, in which one is functioning at high-frequency and the others are operating at fundamental-frequency. The high-switching pulses are varied in the procedure of unidirectional sine-wave to engender a current coordinated with the utility-voltage. The unidirectional current is shaped into alternating current by the synchronized push-pull configuration. The MPC process are intended to control the scheme and achieve the subsequent tasks, take out the Maximum Power (MP) from the PV, step-up the PV voltage, and introduces low current with low Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and with unity power factor with the grid voltage.
This study presents an extended boost single-phase qZ-source DC-AC inverter for a single-phase photovoltaic system. Unlike the previously proposed single-phase qZ-source and semi-qZ-source inverters that achieve the same output voltage as that of the traditional voltage-fed full-bridge inverter, the proposed inverter can obtain higher output than input voltage. The proposed inverter also shares a common ground between DC input voltage and AC output voltage. Thus, possible ground leakage current problem in non-isolated grid-tied inverters can be eliminated with the proposed inverter. A 120 W prototype inverter is built and tested to verify the performance of the proposed inverter.
This paper suggests a 6-pulse-shift converter with PWM current-source inverter based on buck-boost configuration to improve the efficiency and to reduce the switching frequency of inverter for photovoltaic generation system, the device can be operated as interface system between solar module system and power system grid without energy storage cell. the circuit has six current-source buck-boost converter which operate chopper part has one full bridge inverter which make a decision the polarity of AC output. Therefore, the proposed PWM power inverter has advantages such as the reduction of witching loss and realization of unity power factor operation. the theoretical backgrounds are discussed and the input-output characteristics for the implemented prototype inverter using TMS320F2812 are verified experimentally in this paper.
