  • The progression of curing of dementia is associated with a gradual decline in functional, cognitive, emotional and social abilities. Patients with dementia currently cause many social problems, which will become more serious in the near future. It is considered that patients with dementia are so much influenced by the quality of physical ward environment ; so we need to improve environment of dementia ward dept. Factors of physical environment which effect patients with dement1a can be classifided both into 'Interier design' ; material, color, lighting, equipment and auxiliary design and into 'Sense of sight & hearing' ; illumination, ornament & indication, noise, and fancy.

  • The effect of manufacturing and packaging conditions on the stability of effervescent tablets has been studied. Mixtures of sodium bicarbonate and tartaric acid were compressed at tabletting forces of 3,6, and 9 ton force. Tablets were more than simple physical mixture but the effect of tabletting force has not been found in this force range. "Curing" the tablet by heating it to $90^{\circ}C$ was effective on increasing the stability and the silica gel in the aluminium pouch stabilized the system. The equipment measuring the carbon dioxide pressure in this experiment was very useful in evaluation of the effervescent tablets.t tablets.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve overall performance of prefoamed lightweight cellular concrete for On-Dol system floor. This study includes 4 sections as follows. \circled1 Analysis of the structural characteristics of On-Dol System focusing on the lightweight cellular concrete insulation layer. \circled2 Establishment of the mixing design equations. \circled3 Development of some admixtures used with foaming agent. \circled4 Improvement of the equipment for onsite production. This study has proven that, compared with the current existing one, the newly developed lightweight cellular concrete has been reduced the usage of cement by 20% and the cracks caused by cement drying shrinkage up to 80% but has shown the increased compression strength by 20% at 7 days curing period. The volume contraction of freshly prepared cellular concrete by the loss of foam was hardly found in newly developed lightweight cellular concrete.

  • The soundness of honeycomb core sandwich and laminate structure used for commercial aircrafts is generally evaluated with ultrasonic inspection because the inspection is most sensitive to planar surfaces which are perpendicular to sound propagation pass and reflects sound almost 100% to equipment. And most defects inherent in composite material curing process has good reflective surfaces. With all this advantage, unexpected obstruction to product and additional cost could be occurred when inappropriate accept/reject criteria is given. In this study the importance of inspection criteria will be discussed to show how inappropriate criteria cause unexpected results leading to high production cost and how much time must be spent to correct those improper criteria with an actual case occurred in Aerospace Division, Korean Air.

  • Recently, reaction injection molding has been used broadly for rapid prototyping, because of its convenience and versatility. Since the properties of molded products are dependent on the process variables and the production is very short(less than 2minutes), the control of process variables is important. Generally, the two significant process variables are degree of cure and temperature of the reactants. In this paper, the relation between the degree of cure and the temperature of reactants was investigated to find the optimal curing condition of reaction injection molding for rapid prototyping. The degree of cure during reaction injection molding was measured by the Lacomtech sensor and dielectrometry equipment employing Wheatstone bridge type circuit.

  • Researchers have investigated nasal flow both numerically and experimentally for centuries. Experimental studies most have suffered from various limitations necessary to allow the measurements to be obtained with available equipment. Nasal airflow can be subdivided into two interrelated categories; nasal airflow resistance and heat and mass transfer between the air stream and the walls of the nasal cavity. In this study, thanks to a new method for model casting by a combination of Rapid prototyping and curing of clear silicone, a transparent rectangular box containing the complex nasal cavity is made for PIV experiments. The CBC PIV algorithm is used for analysis. Average and RMS distributions are obtained for inspirational and expiration nasal airflows. Comparison between western and Korean nasal air flows are appreciated. Flow fields for Korean model shows some differences from western's. Flow resistances for breathing are measured with varying flow rates.

  • Cracks on the surface of latex-modified concrete using ready mix concrete (R-LMC) are attributable to its sensitivity to air temperature, relative humidity and wind velocity. Insufficient curing under the windy condition causes plastic shrinkage cracks. The cracked areas should be replaced to prevent development of larger cracks. This paper investigated how the vibration resulted from crushing concrete for replacement of the partial cracked area affects bond strength of R-LMC at early age. To analyze bond strength of R-LMC, the commercial Finite Element (FE) program, ABAQUS Standard/Implicit version 6.12 was used, and bond strength was tested by ASTM C1583-04. The real vibration was applied to this FE model using an acceleration measurement equipment.

  • This paper deals with the stress singularity induced at the interface corner between the viscoelastic thin film and the rigid substrate subjected to the combined influence of temperature change and moisture absorption. A boundary element analysis is employed to investigate the behavior of interface stresses. The film is assumed to be thermorheologically simple. It is further assumed that moisture effects are analogous to thermal effects. Numerical results are presented for a given viscoelastic model, indicating the singular residual stresses induced during cooling down from the curing temperature, and how they can be altered by subsequent moisture absorption at room temperature.

  • Copper-based leadframe sheets were immersed in two kinds of hot alkaline solutions to form brown-oxide or black-oxide layer on the surface. The oxide-coated leadframe sheets were molded with epoxy molding compound (EMC). After post mold curing, the oxide-coated EMC-leadframe joints were machined to form sandwiched double-cantilever beam (SDCB) specimens. The SDCB specimens were used to measure the fracture toughness of the EMC/leadframe interfaces under quasi-Mode I loading conditions. Fracture surfaces were analyzed by various equipment to investigate failure path. The present paper deals with the failure path, and the cause of the failure path formation with an adhesion model will be treated in the succeeding paper.
