This study examined the condition of an educational discourse, relating the concept of creativity, culture, culture-centered, and critical thinking, to explore Culture-based Art Education(CBAE). In particular, art education practice was examined using interpretations of creativity and critical theory positions from the field of education. Discourse analysis was used as the research method to contextually situate and analyze the ways in which art education theory and practice of creativity and of critical studies encoded meanings. The study helped build an understanding that creativity was formed as a modernist discourse in the humanistic stance. In education, creativity became the fundamental concern for progressive educators who pursued innate ability of individuals. The way to enhance creative potential of students was to induce their motive, as was the same case in art education, while in artist training, free expression was its main method. In this way, as creativity was intimately connected with the concept of expression, in art education art making is the only course for enhancing creativity. However, because creative process cannot intelligently be regarded as logically distinct from the creative product, and creativity can only be said by product, it seems valid to think that creativity is the quality not to be achieved by teaching. Furthermore, its emphasis on art making resulted in unbalance of art making and art appreciation in art education. It was the late sixties when several alternatives for creative education were made their appearance. Critical studies in art adopted critical theory as its theoretical background has developed as an alternative of creative art education, when research and theory for creativity could not be adequate to deal with the problem of practice. Critical theory is a broad and diverse field of theory and practice drawing on aspects of the modernist perspective of the later Frankfurt School, feminism, Freirean pedagogy, postcolonial discourse as well as postmodernism to construct a practical approach to education. It is very this eclectic nature to provide the mosaic that need to experience cultures from different perspectives in a pluralistic society. Because one's personality is formed by multiple aspects of culture which is very complex and is made up of what we do and value, creativity cannot make part of educational discourse with the philosophy of culture centered. On the other hand, critical studies, as a school art program of critical theory, can perform the role of CBAE, because it would have to deal with the investigation of social and cultural issues form multiple personal, local, national, and global perspectives.
In the contemporary modern society, information and knowledge generate a set of new social values. These changes demand a transformation not only in socio-cultural and educational spheres, but also, specifically, in the field of culture and art education. Culture and Art education emphasizes the integration and cross-discipline of other related fields which have great impact on culture and arts. This study applies theoretical analysis of Animation education in the context of culture and art education. Animation education takes an interdisciplinary approach to integrate various subjects in the field of culture and art education. Animation, as a form of culture and art education, plays an educational role in the social classroom. Animation education should be developed and expanded to become a regular classroom course. The goal of Animation education is to pursue and develop a connection with other educational courses of study. In order to strengthen the role of Animation education, we should first re-structure the pedagogical role of Animation education. Secondly, Animation education needs to become a diversified and popularized education. Third, the cultivation of creative human resources is considered of vital importance to Animation education. Finally, the expansion of infrastructure and the establishment of a comprehensive support system for Animation education has to be established.

Objectives : Art and culture education might play a good role in children's emotions ; however, few studies to verify this have been conducted. The objective of this study was to examine the effect of an art and culture education program on behavior and social skills in children aged 7-10 years. Methods : Fifteen children (mean age $7.31{\pm}0.95$ years) were recruited from a community center and participated in an art and culture education program. The participants received a once a week program for 17 sessions, and we compared scores on the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) and Social Skills Improvement System-Rating Scales (SSIS-RS) before and after intervention. Results : The participants' subscale scores of CBCL-aggressive behavior, social immaturity, internalizing behavior, externalizing behavior, total behavior problems and social skill scores on the SSIS-RS showed improvement (p<.05) after 15-weeks of the art and culture education program. Conclusion : These results suggest a positive effect of an art and culture education program on the reduction of externalizing and internalizing behaviors and improvement of social skills in children. Further prospective, controlled studies in large samples are needed in order to confirm our findings.

The present study investigated how culture and art education participants' outcome evaluation predicts the satisfaction of the education by performing the secondary analysis of the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service's (KACES) survey data. Exploratory factor analysis identified three dimensions(content, management, and resources) of education outcome evaluation, and the regression analysis revealed the factors of outcome evaluation influenced the education satisfaction positively. When the sample was grouped according to prior participation experience and companion [participated alone or with other person(s)], the regression analysis showed the differences of the influences between groups. On the basis of the findings, managerial implications for improvement of the culture and art education programs and suggestions for further studies were discussed.

The purpose of this study is to try finding the research possibilities of computer technology in art education and understand why computer technology has such a great impact on our contemporary education. The methodology of this study is based on the analysis of literature review. I have tried to find the importance articles in the journals of art education such as Studies in Art Education and Art Education published from the National Art Education Association, one of the most well-known organizations in the field of art education. To draw the purpose of this study, I found articles and categorized the information using key words such as aesthetic, feminist, gender issues, and interactivity. After analyzing, I have discussed about the research possibilities and important issues of computer technology in art education and then categorized the information found in each article into four different subheadings: 1) the visual effects of computer graphics in art education, 2) gender issues based on the computer technology, 3) interactive multimedia and social interactions among students, 4) research possibilities with computer technologies in art education. The findings are as follow. Firstly, there were many research possibilities of computer technologies in art education such as ways of criticizing the contemporary art world. Secondly, I found that computer technology has a great impact on art education because students are more eager to engage with computer technologies-based media activities and very familiar with new media either at home and school. Therefore, we, as educators, must address how the student will be systematically engaged with computer technologies in their educational environment and should determine what knowledge and skills prospective teachers bring to our teacher education programs and how and where they acquired this knowledge.

Art & Culture Education for improving quality of life and cultural empowerment through the enjoyment of culture and the arts has spread as a variety of programs. However, Art & Culture Education in school has problems in the aspect of functional and superficial contents and ways of class. To achieve the ultimate purpose of Art & Culture Education and to take place as a effective education, quantitative growth in addition to qualitative depth should be considered. The purpose of this study is to develop the integrated Art & Culture Education model in elementary school curriculum using short animations of Korea, for improving the quality and vitalization of Art & Culture Education. For the interdisciplinary education short animation can be an effective asthetical teaching material, which transmits the world view, personality, social and historical reflection of the director. The main purpose of the work is to analyze modern innovative educational practices in the field of culture and art and their effectiveness in the context of the spread of digitalization trends. The study used general scientific theoretical methods of analysis, synthesis, analogy, comparative, induction, deduction, reductionism, and a number of others, allowing you to fully understand the pattern of modern modernization processes in a long historical development and demonstrate how the rejection of the negativity of progress allows talented artists to realize their own potential. The study established the advantages and disadvantages of involving innovative technologies in the educational process on the example of European experience and outlined possible ways of implementing digitalization processes in Ukrainian institutions of higher education, formulated the main difficulties encountered by teachers and students in the use of technological innovation in the pandemic. The rapid development of digital technologies has had a great impact on the sphere of culture and art, both visual, scenic, and musical in all processes: creation, reproduction, perception, learning, etc. In the field of art education, there is a synthesis of creative practices with digital technologies. In terms of music education, these processes at the present stage are provided with digital tools of specially developed software (music programs for composition and typing of musical text, recording, and correction of sound, for quality listening to the whole work or its fragments) for training programs used in institutional education and non-institutional learning as a means of independent mastering of the theory and practice of music-making, as well as other programs and technical tools without which contemporary art cannot be imagined. In modern stage education, the involvement of video technologies, means of remote communication, allowing realtime adjustment of the educational process, is actualized. In the sphere of fine arts, there is a transformation of communicative forms of interaction between the teacher and students, which in the conditions of the pandemic are of two-way communication with the help of information and communication technologies. At this stage, there is an intensification of transformation processes in the educational industry in the areas of culture and art.
Visual culture art education (VCAE) seems to be the new paradigm for art education after postmodernism. Getting beyond the traditional art education, VCAE has expanded its scope of interest to include the visual environment that surrounds our life, thus pushing the boundary of art education beyond the traditional fine arts to cover pop culture and visual art. VCAE shares the issues as well as a lot of elements of culture and art education and in fact serves as a major theoretic background for culture and art education, in that it pays attention to the sociocultural context of images and emphasizes visual literacy and constructionist learning. In this paper, I have reviewed the theoretical background and related issues of VCAE with a view to presenting a direction for animation education, which is gaining in importance coming into the Age of Digital Media. VCAE was born in the progressive cultural atmosphere from the 1970s and thereafter, and its gist consists in figuring out visual artifacts and their action in order to improve individual and social life. Yet, VCAE continues with its development according to the changing aspects of visual culture, and currently, it is expanding its scope of interest to cover the esthetic, experiential education in visual culture and construction of meaning through digital story-telling. In the visual environment of the Digital Age, animation is establishing itself as the center of the visual culture, being a form that goes beyond an art genre or technology to realize images throughout the visual culture. Also, VCAE, which has so far emphasized visual communication and critical reading of culture, would need to reflect the new aspects of the visual culture in digital animation across the entire gamut from experiencing to understanding and appreciating art education. In this paper, I emphasize on Cross-Curricula, social reconstruction, the expansion of animation education, interests in animation as a digital media, and animation literacy. A study of animation education from the perspective of VCAE will not only provide a theoretical basis for establishing animation education, but also enrich the content of VCAE, traditionally focused on critical text reading, and promote its contemporary and futuristic orientation.
