The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of eating habits and control of overeating of obese children on the body weight control program. The program included nutritional education, psychotherapy and physical exercise on weekly session for 9 months. The results of this study were as follows. Participants of the study involved 30 obese children attending elementary school. The average age of the children was 11.78 years, mean height and weight were 146.22cm and 50.61kg. The average BMI and body fat contents were 24.06 and 30.49% respectively and WHR of the children was 0.87. There was a significant difference between boys and girls' BMI(25.18, 23.31, p<0.01). As a result of the eating habits test, 50% of the subjects showed low level of regularity of diet, and 76.7% of the subjects showed high level of balanced diet score. Large portion(83.3%) of the subjects had high level of healthy behavior score. WHR of girls significantly decreased from 0.86 to 0.82(p<0.01) after the body weight control program. There were no significant differences in serum components of the obese children after the program. When regarding the score of eating habits in relation to obesity indices, the WHR significantly decreased(p<0.05) in a group of children with high eating habits score. Also in the group of overeating controls, significantly decreased WHR(p<0.05). In the results of correlation analysis, body weight was positively correlated with BMI(r=0.624), the level of total cholesterol(r=0.5109) and HDL cholesterol(r=0.5088). The score of healthy behavior was positively correlated with height(r=0.5286) and negatively correlated with the level of LDL cholesterol(r=0.3555) and WHR(r=0.4028) These results suggest that the body weight control program must be considerate of the different groups of children with different scores in the eating habits and overeating controls test.
The purpose of this study was to examine the difference in nutritional knowledge and food preferences according to food-related lifestyle among 400 married women. Using the K-average clustering method, food-related lifestyles of subjects were categorized into three clusters: rational and diversity-oriented group, convenience-oriented group, and health-oriented group. The nutritional knowledge level and food preferences among three clusters were compared to each other using ANOVA test. The findings were summarized as follows: For the nutritional knowledge level, health-oriented group showed the highest mean score, whereas the lowest score was detected in the convenience-oriented group. The convenience-oriented group showed higher preferences for fish, meat, eggs, fruits, milk/dairy products, seaweed, grains, etc. among natural food than the other groups. Meanwhile, the rational and diversity-oriented group preferred legumes, and green vegetables, whereas the health-oriented group showed preferences for other vegetables. However, the convenience-oriented group reported more preferences for breads, noodles, pancakes, fried/stir-fried food, and processed food such as sausage, ham, and fast food, This study found that nutritional knowledge level and food preferences were significantly different according to food-related lifestyles of married women living in Seoul and Gyonggie areas. Thus, it is suggested that nutritional education targeting married women needs to be carefully designed by considering their food-related lifestyle.

This study analyzed the current status of the convergence departments of universities from 2019 to 2023. The number of installation increased from 430 in 2019 to 649 in 2023. The accumulated number of abolition increased from 177 to 509 at the same period. Many were suddenly installed without enough readiness. The convergence department bubble phenomenon began to extinguish in 2022. The number of the convergence departments in academic division was more in the order of engineering, humanities and social sciences, natural sciences, and arts and sports every year. The proportion of engineering decreased and that of humanities and social sciences increased. The number of sub-division installing convergence departments increased from 65 to 81 during 5 years. This study explores the use of animation as a tool for both English learning and recognizing social problems. In addition, this study examines how topic-centered learning paired with animation affects the acquisition of English vocabulary and expressions specific to discussing social problems. To achieve these goals, the study used two animations, Zootopia and Luca, and focused specifically on discrimination and prejudice. Conversation analysis, discussion activities, and learning of vocabulary and expressions in context were conducted. To evaluate the research, pre-tests, post-tests, a questionnaire, and thinking notes containing learners' opinions were used. Pre- and post-tests were administered to determine the extent of improvement in students' vocabulary and expression learning, and they reveal a statistically significant difference between the two tests. A questionnaire and thinking notes were analyzed in order to understand learners' responses and attitudes toward the class, and the results demonstrate an overall satisfaction with this class using animation topics (81.8%). The data highlights three reasons for this satisfaction: developing an in-depth understanding of movies, enhanced awareness of social problems, and increased engagement through the use of animations. These findings highlight the importance of conducting an in-depth analysis of the targeted topic when using animation.
As ageing society rapidly unfolds, it is becoming an even more important issue to secure wellbeing and happiness of senior citizens and the society as a whole. Growing talks on how culture and art positively affect the elderly led to more demands from the public on culture and art institutions to increase their social participations. Art museums too, as an art and cultural institution and a social education entity, are requested to play a bigger role in the effort to tackle the concerns derived from the ageing society. Korean art museums came up with senior programs since 2000, which makes it a relatively recent phenomenon. The consensus on the importance and needs of such programs has been around for a while in our society. However, effect measurement of these programs needs further research and discussion. This thesis examined the effect of senior programs using the Museum Wellbeing Measures Toolkit published in 2013. With the service quality research model, correlations were analyzed among program components, wellbeing effect, participant satisfaction and their willingness to re-enroll in order to produce a practical guidance on how to plan and operate the programs. To measure effect of senior programs and to analyze influencing factors would provide us with important data to prove the social responsibility and benefit art museums offer in our society. At the same time, such researches would contribute to enhancing the quality of current programs run by museums and give methodological suggestions on how to assess and improve senior programs.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Saengmaeg-san intake on blood lipids and arteriosclerosis index in male tennis players. Seventeen male tennis players enrolled in university were assigned to a Saengmaeg-san intake group (n=9) and a placebo control group (n=8) according to whether they took Saengmaeg-san during 4-week high-intensity tennis training. Tennis training was conducted 5 times a week for 4 weeks, and the exercise intensity was performed at 70-90% of the spare heart rate. The intake of Saengmaeg-san was 110ml at a time before breakfast, before, during, during, and after exercise, and after dinner, a total of 7 times, 770ml per day. For all data, mean and standard deviation were used. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to examine the effect of time and treatment, and Pearson's Correlation was used to examine the relevance of differences in blood lipid responses after treatment. As a result of this study, the Saengmaeg-san intake group significantly improved blood lipids (triglyceride, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol) and arteriosclerosis index, and there was a significant correlation appeared between ∆TG, ∆LDL-C, and ∆TC. As a result, the intake of Saengmaeg-san during high-intensity training of male college student tennis players can have a positive effect on blood lipids and arteriosclerosis index, suggesting that it can be an effective sports drink as an exercise supplement.
