  • Fine grid calculations are reported for the developing turbulent flow in a straight duct and a curved duct of square cross-section with a radius of curvature to hydraulic diameter ratio ${\delta}=R_c/H_H=3.357$ and a bend angle of 180 deg. A sequence of modeling refinements is introduced; the replacement of wall function by a fine mesh across the sublayer and a low Reynolds number second moment closure up to the near wall sublayer in which the non-linear return to isotropy model and the cubic-quasi-isotropy model for the pressure strain are adopted; and the introduction of a multiple source model for the exact dissipation rate equation. Each refinement is shown to lead to an appreciable improvement in the agreement between measurement and computation.

  • The deformations of polycrystalline materials are modelled by linking a constitutive equation for the crystallographic slip of a single crystal to the macroscopic behavior of the aggregate. In this study, anisotropic elasticity (lattice stretching) of a cubic crystal is incoporated into the anisotropic plasticity from crystallographic slip. The constitutive description for the aggregate, derived from a crystal plasticity theory, is used to formulate a Consistent Penalty Finite Element Method for the anisotropic elasto-viscoplastic deformation of polycrystalline materials. As an application, a plane-strain forging process is simulated and the effects of the initial textures on the deformation behavior of the workpiece are examined.

  • 불규칙 해상에서의 선체의 횡동요운동을 해석하기 위하여 등가선형화방법을 사용 하였다. 일자 유도 선형 횡동요운동 모델에다가 2차의 비선형 감쇠항과 3차 및 5차의 비선형 복원 모멘트를 추가 하였으며 불규칙 기진 모멘트는 가우스 백색잡음으로 가정 하였다. 등가선형화 방법을 사용하여 예측한 응답의 통계적 특성을Simulation 결과와 비교 하였다.

  • A Fuzzy Hybrid-Multilayer Perceptron (FH-MLP) Structure is proposed in this paper. proposed FH-MLP is not a fixed architecture. that is to say. the number of layers and the number of nodes in each layer of FH-MLP can be generated to adapt to the changing environment. FH-MLP consists of two parts. one is fuzzy nodes which each node is operated as a small fuzzy system with fuzzy implication rules. and its fuzzy system operates with Gaussian or Triangular membership functions in premise part and constants or regression polynomial equation in consequence part. the other is polynomial nodes which several types of high-order polynomial such as linear. quadratic. and cubic form are used and is connected as various kinds of multi-variable inputs. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. time series data for gas furnace process has been applied.

  • The present work solved 3D incompressible RANS equation on a rotating, non-orthogonal multi-blocked grid system to efficiently analyze ducted marine propulsor with rotor-stator interaction. To handle the interface boundary between a rotor and a stator maintaining the conservative property, the sliding multiblock technique using the cubic spline interpolation and the bilinear interpolation technique were applied. To validate present code, a turbine flow having rotor- stator interaction was simulated. Time averaged pressure coefficients were compared with experiments and good agreement was obtained. After the code validation, the flowfield around a single-stage ducted marine propulsor was simulated.

Spherically symmetric transient responses of functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic hollow sphere

  • On the basis of equilibrium equations for static electric and magnetic fields, two unknown functions related to electric and magnetic fields were firstly introduced to rewrite the governing equations, boundary conditions and initial conditions for mechanical field. Then by introducing a dependent variable and a special function satisfying the inhomogeneous mechanical boundary conditions, the governing equation for a new variable with homogeneous mechanical boundary conditions is obtained. By using the separation of variables technique as well as the electric and magnetic boundary conditions, the dynamic problem of a functionally graded magneto-electro-elastic hollow sphere under spherically symmetric deformation is transformed to two Volterra integral equations of the second kind about two unknown functions of time. Cubic Hermite polynomials are adopted to approximate the two undetermined functions at each time subinterval and the recursive formula for solving the integral equations is derived. Transient responses of displacements, stresses, electric and magnetic potentials are completely determined at the end. Numerical results are presented and discussed.

  • Optimal design of a piezoelectric smart structure is studied for cabin noise control. A cubic shaped acoustic cavity with a flat plate which covers one side is taken as the problem. The sensor signal is returned to the actuator through a negative gain. The acoustic cavity is modeled using the modal approach which represents the pressure fields in the cavity as a sum of mode shapes of the cavity with unknown coefficients. By using orthogonality of the mode shapes of the cavity, finite element equation for the structure with the influence of the acoustic cavity is derived. The objective function is the average pressure at a certain region, so-called silent zone, in the cavity and the design variables are the locations and sizes of the piezoelectric actuator and sensor. The optimal design is performed at several frequencies and the results show a remarkable noise reduction.

고속 전철 급전기의 접촉 분리를 고려한 동역학적 해석 (Dynamic Analysis of the Pantograph of a High-speed Electrical Train Considering Contact and Separation)

  • For the analysis of dynamic contact between a catenary and a pantograph of high-speed electrical train, the numerical solution of the equations of motion of the vehicle pantograph and the catenary system subjected to the contact condition is obtained. The whole equations of motion of the catenary and the pantograph are simultaneously time integrated with the strict application of the contact condition. For the stability of the numerical solution, with the cubic spline interpolation of the catenary displacement, the velocity and acceleration constraints as well as the displacement constraint are imposed on the contact point. Especially it is shown that the Coriolis and centripetal accelerations are critical for the accuracy and stability of the computation.

  • GPS의 이동측량 방법을 사용하여 위치정보와 속성정보를 취득하는 경우, 대상지의 지형학적 위치와 여러가지 오차요인에 의해 이상점이 발생하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 절사평균 방법과 1차 미분을 이용한 이상점 검출 알고리즘을 작성하고, 선형보간법과 다항식보간법을 사용하여 이상점 보간을 하였다. 또한 정확하게 보간된 데이터를 이용하여 국도 30 km구간에 대해 수치지도를 제작하였으며 수치지도를 제작하는 과정에서 발생될 수 있는 문제점들을 고찰하고 문제점들의 해결을 통해 정확한 GIS 커버리지 맵을 작성하였다.

  • 슬레브형로내의 중성자수송에 관한 적분 방정식을 유한요소법으로 기술했다. Hermite 내삽에 의한 1차 및 3차 다항식을 사용하여 얻은 수식으로 글레브형로의 임계치와 Milne 문제의 근사해를 계산하고 해석해와의 비교를 통하여 유한 요소법의 유용성을 논의했다.
