CaCl2 용융염에서 Ca2+의 Cu 전극에 대한 전기화학적 증착 특성평가 (Electrochemical Deposition Characteristics of Ca2+ on Cu Wire Electrode in CaCl2 Molten Salt)

  • 자동차 시장의 확대에 따라 자동차 모터의 필수 소재로 희토류금속인 Nd에 대한 수요가 급증하고 있다. Nd를 제조하기 위하여 Nd2O3와 Ca계 합금의 열 환원반응에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 Nd2O3의 환원제로 사용되는 Ca계 합금인 Ca-Cu를 CaCl2 용융염에서 전기분해반응을 통해 제조하였다. 전기분해반응의 작업 전극과 상대전극으로는 Cu 와이어와 흑연을 각각 사용하였다. 기준전극은 AgCl:CaCl2=1:99 mol%로 혼합한 혼합물에 Ag 와이어를 넣어 제작하였다. 순환전압 전류법 결과에 의하면 -1.8 V의 전위부터 작업전극의 표면에 Ca2+의 증착이 관찰되었으며, CaCl2 염의 온도가 증가할수록 Ca2+의 환원전위가 감소하였다. 시간대전류법 실험을 통해 계산된 Ca2+의 확산계수는 5.4(±6.8)×10-6 cm2/s으로 나타났다. 또한, Cu 전극에 일정한 전위를 가해 Ca-Cu 액상합금을 제조하였으며 제조된 합금은 EDS line scan을 통해 인가 전위의 증가에 따라 Ca의 전기화학적 삽입이 증가함을 확인하였다. -2.0 V보다 음의 전위를 인가하여 제조한 Ca-Cu 합금의 조성비는 Ca:Cu=1:4임을 확인하였다.

산화구리 나노분말을 포함하는 에틸렌글리콜 용액의 열전특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Thermal Properties of Ethylene Glycol Containing Copper Oxide Nanoparticles)

  • In the present work, ethylene glycol-based (EG) copper oxide nanofluids were synthesized by pulsed wire evaporation method. In order to explode the pure copper wire, high voltage of 23 kV was applied to the both ends of wire and argon/oxygen gas mixture was used as reactant gas. EG-based copper oxide nanofluids with different volume fraction were prepared by controlling explosion number of copper wire. From the transmission electron microscope (TEM) image, it was found that the copper oxide nanoparticles exhibited an average diameter about 100 nm with the oxide layer of 2~3 nm. The synthesized copper oxide consists of CuO/$Cu_2O$ phases and the Brunauer Emmett Teller (BET) surface area was estimated to be $6.86\;m^2\;g^{-1}$. From the analyses of thermal properties, it is suggested that viscosity and thermal conductivity of EG-based copper oxide nanofluids do not show temperature-dependent behavior over the range of 20 to $90^{\circ}C$. On the other hand, the viscosity and thermal conductivity of EG-based copper oxide nanofluids increase with volume fraction due to the active Brownian motion of the nanoparticles, i.e., nanoconvection.

Cu/Ni80Fe20 코어/쉘 복합 와이어에서 대각(Diagnonal) 자기임피던스 (Diagonal Magneto-impedance in Cu/Ni80Fe20 Core-Shell Composite Wire)

  • Cu(반경 $r_a$ = $95{\mu}m$)/$Ni_{80}Fe_{20}$(외경 $r_b$ = $120{\mu}m$)의 코어/쉘 복합 와이어를 전기도금방법으로 제작하였다. 제작 된 복합 와이어에 대해 원통 좌표계에서 임피던스 텐서의 두 대각 성분 $Z_{{\theta}{\theta}}$$Z_{zz}$를 10 kHz~10 MHz 범위의 주파수(f)와 0 Oe~200 Oe 범위의 외부 정지 자기장의 함수로 측정하였다. Maxwell 방정식으로부터 코어/쉘 복합 와이어의 두 대각 임피던스 $Z_{{\theta}{\theta}}$$Z_{zz}$를 각각 복소 투자율 텐서의 두 대각 성분 ${\mu}^*_{zz}$${\mu}^*_{{\theta}{\theta}}$로 표현하는 식을 유도하였다. 유도된 식을 이용하여 측정된 $Z_{{\theta}{\theta}}$(f)와 $Z_{zz}$(f) 스펙트럼으로부터 ${\mu}^*_{zz}$(f)와 ${\mu}^*_{{\theta}{\theta}}$(f) 스펙트럼을 각각 뽑아낼 수 있었다. 뽑아낸 두 대각 투자율 스펙트럼을 자벽이동과 자화회전의 완화과정으로 해석하면 Cu/NiFe 코어/쉘 복합 와이어의 동적 자화과정을 규명하는 유용한 도구가 될 수 있다는 것을 제시하였다.

Oxidation and Repeated-Bending Properties of Sn-Based Solder Joints After Highly Accelerated Stress Testing (HAST)

  • The repeated-bending properties of Sn-0.7Cu, Sn-0.3Ag-0.7Cu (SAC0307), and Sn-3.0Ag-0.5Cu (SAC305) solders mounted on flexible substrates were studied using highly accelerated stress testing (HAST), followed by repeated-bending testing. In the Sn-0.7Cu joints, the $Cu_6Sn_5$ intermetallic compound (IMC) coarsened as the HAST time increased. For the SAC0307 and SAC305 joints, the $Ag_3Sn$ and $Cu_6Sn_5$ IMCs coarsened mainly along the grain boundary as the HAST time increased. The Sn-0.7Cu solder had a high contact angle, compared to the SAC0307 and SAC305 solders; consequently, the SAC0307 and SAC305 solder joints displayed smoother fillet shapes than the Sn-0.7Cu solder joint. The repeated-bending for the Sn-0.7Cu solder produced the crack initiated from the interface between the Cu lead wire and the solder, and that for the SAC solders indicated the cracks initiated at the surface, but away from the interface between the Cu lead wire and the solder. Furthermore, the oxide layer was thickest for Sn-0.7Cu and thinnest for SAC305, regardless of the HAST time. For the SAC solders, the crack initiation rate increased as the oxide layer thickened and roughened. $Cu_6Sn_5$ precipitated and grew along the grain and subgrain boundaries as the HAST time increased, embrittling the grain boundary at the crack propagation site.

  • During Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconductor wire fabrication the effect of the initial packing density on the final characteristics of superconductor wire was systematically studied. To increase the powder packing density with uniform distribution of superconducting core a billet insertion method processed by CIP was applied instead of the commonly used vibration and ramming method of powder insertion into silver sheath. Compared with the vibration and ramming method the billent insertion technique processed by CIP cause the 30% incre-specimen with 130${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$(core thickness : 45 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$)and 5.24 mm width processed at 84$0^{\circ}C$for 200hrs. shows specimen with 130${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ (core thickness ; 45${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$)and 5.24 mm width processed at 84$0^{\circ}C$ for 200 hrs. shows maximum 34A for Ic and 16, 700 A/cm2 for Ic measured at 77K and 0T. Also the sample rolled 3 times shows maximum 7, 2A for Ic and 11, 000 A/cm2 for 77K and 0T. Based on X-ray experimental results the formation of Bi-2223 and texture were significantly well developed at the interface between the superconducting core and silver sheath as compared with those of the interior area of superconducting core.

Zn과 Cu 혼합 분말의 열 증발에 의하여 생성된 ZnO 결정의 형상 변화 및 발광 특성 (Morphological Change and Luminescence Properties of ZnO Crystals Synthesized by Thermal Evaporation of a Mixture of Zn and Cu Powder)

  • ZnO crystals with different morphologies are synthesized through thermal evaporation of the mixture of Zn and Cu powder in air at atmospheric pressure. ZnO crystals with wire shape are synthesized when the process is performed at $1,000^{\circ}C$, while tetrapod-shaped ZnO crystals begin to form at $1,100^{\circ}C$. The wire-shaped ZnO crystals form even at $1,000^{\circ}C$, indicating that Cu acts as a reducing agent. As the temperature increases to $1,200^{\circ}C$, a large quantity of tetrapod-shaped ZnO crystals form and their size also increases. In addition to the tetrapods, rod-shaped ZnO crystals are observed. The atomic ratio of Zn and O in the ZnO crystals is approximately 1:1 with an increasing process temperature from $1,000^{\circ}C$ to $1,200^{\circ}C$. For the ZnO crystals synthesized at $1,000^{\circ}C$, no luminescence spectrum is observed. A weak visible luminescence is detected for the ZnO crystals prepared at $1,100^{\circ}C$. Ultraviolet and visible luminescence peaks with strong intensities are observed in the luminescence spectrum of the ZnO crystals formed at $1,200^{\circ}C$.

Ge를 첨가한 Nb$_3$Sn 초전도 선에서의 교류손실 및 미세조직 변화 (Influence of Ge addition on AC loss and micro-structure in $Nb_{3}Sn$ wires)

  • In order to investigate the effect of Ge addition to the Cu matrix on the microstructure and the critical current density, four kinds of internal tin processed Nb$_3$Sn strands with pure Cu and Cu 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 wt % Ge alloys were drawn to 0.8 mm diameter. The microstructure and critical current of internal tin processed Nb$_3$Sn wires that were heat treated at temperatures ranging from 68$0^{\circ}C$ to 74$0^{\circ}C$ for 240h were investigated. The Ge addition to the matrix did not make workability worse. A Ge rich layer in the Cu-Ge matrix suppressed the growth of the Nb$_3$Sn layer and promoted grain coarsening. The greater the Ge content in the matrix, the lower the net Jc result after Nb$_3$sn reaction heat treatment. There was no significant variation in Jc observed with heat treatment temperature ranging from 68$0^{\circ}C$ to 74$0^{\circ}C$. The values of AC loss of Ge added wires were decreased to 40 % compare with no addition wire. Low AC loss was due to segregation of Ge rich layer in the Cu-Ge matrix. If Ge added wire with thin Nb filaments were fabricated, slow diffusion rate of Sn would be overcome and decreased AC loss that is weak Point of internal tin method.

  • Sam Dong Co., Ltd. has been succeeded in producing a 1 km multi-filament conductor in 2018. So far, we become more widespread to fabricate a variety of customized multi-filament wires such as 6 + '1' Cu, 18 + '1' Cu, and 36 + '1' Cu. In this work, we discuss the research progress on various MgB2 wires over the past three years. We also provide a brief review for applications with our wires.

  • The composition, weight decrease, DTA, and surface structure of vinyl insulated wire with thermal treatment conditions have been investigated. The composition of Cu by EDX analysis indicates Cu, Cl, and O lines, and oxidation reaction results from thermal treatment. Thermal treated IV and HIV appeared chemical reaction at $269^{\circ}C$ and $265^{\circ}C$, respectively. SEM of thermal treated Cu at $250^{\circ}C$ disappears an elongation structure, and appears an original structure.

전기도금 된 Cu/Ni80Fe20 코어/쉘 복합 와이어에서 자기임피던스 및 자기완화 (Magneto-impedance and Magnetic Relaxation in Electrodeposited Cu/Ni80Fe20 Core/Shell Composite Wire)

  • 높은 전기전도도를 가진 비자성 금속 코어와 연자성 쉘을 가진 복합와이어의 자기임피던스를 원주방향 투자율로 표현하는 모델을 맥스웰 방정식으로부터 유도하였다. Cu(직경 $100{\mu}m$)/$Ni_{80}Fe_{20}$(두께 $15{\mu}m$) 코어/쉘 복합 와이어를 전기도금방법으로 제작하였다. 코어/쉘 복합 와이어의 길이방향으로 10 kHz에서 10 MHz 범위의 주파수를 가지는 교류전류와 0 Oe에서 200 Oe 범위의 직류 자기장을 가하여 임피던스 스펙트럼의 자기장 의존성을 측정하였다. 유도된 모델을 적용하여 측정된 임피던스 스펙트럼으로부터 원주방향 복소 투자율 스펙트럼을 뽑아내었다. 뽑아낸 원주방향 복소 투자율 스펙트럼은 단일 완화주파수의 Debye 식으로 매우 잘 곡선적합되는 완화형 분산을 보였다. 원주방향 복소 투자율 스펙트럼의 자기장 의존성을 분석하여, 본 코어/쉘 복합 와이어의 경우 길이 방향의 자기이방성을 가지며 원주방향으로의 자화회전이 완화형 복소 투자율 스펙트럼에 기여하는 단일 성분이라는 것을 규명하였다.
