구리전해도금에서 폴리에틸렌글리콜(polyethylene glycol)의 영향 연구 (Effect of Polyethylene Glycol on Cu Electrodeposition)

  • 본 연구에서는 polyethylene glycol (PEG)이 구리전해도금에 미치는 영향을 cyclic voltammetry를 이용해 분석해보았다. PEG의 흡착은 함께 존재하는 음이온의 특이흡착에 따라 변화되었다. 가장 일반적인 도금액 성분인 sulfate 이온(SO42-)이 존재하는 경우, PEG의 흡착이 억제되었으며 그로 인해 미약한 억제 효과가 관찰되었다. 실제로 도금액이 SO42- 없이 특이흡착하지 않는 perchlorate 이온(ClO4-)으로만 이뤄진 경우, PEG는 도금 반응을 강하게 억제하였으며 억제 효과는 PEG의 분자량에 비례하여 나타났다. 반면, 염소 이온(Cl-)의 특이흡착이 존재하는 경우 오히려 PEG의 억제 효과는 강화되었다. RDE 분석을 통해 강한 억제 효과는 PEG와 Cl-간의 흡착구조체 형성에 의한 것임을 확인하였으며, 이러한 흡착 구조체 형성은 용액 조성에 따라 달라지는 특성을 나타내었다. 특히, 소수성 특성이 증가된 PEG 유도체의 경우 억제 효과가 더욱 강화되는 것으로 미루어, PEG와 Cl-간의 흡착 구조체 형성에 PEG의 소수성 특성이 중요함을 확인하였다.

Evaluation of Tolerance of Some Elemental Impurities on Performance of Pb-Ca-Sn Positive Pole Grids of Lead-Acid Batteries

  • The electrochemical performance of positive pole grids of lead-acid batteries made of Pb-0.08%Ca-1.1%Sn alloys without and with 0.1 wt% of each of Cu, As or Sb and with 0.1 wt% of Cu, As and Sb combined was investigated by electrochemical methods in 4.0 M $H_2SO_4$. The corrodibility of alloys under open-circuit conditions and constant current charging of the positive pole, the positive pole gassing and the self-discharge of the charged positive pole were studied. All impurities (Cu, As, Sb) were found to decrease the corrosion resistance, $R_{corr}$ after 1/2 hour corrosion, but after 24 hours an improvement in $R_{corr}$ was recorded for Sb containing alloy and the alloy with the three impurities combined. While an individual impurity was found to enhance oxygen evolution reaction, the impurities combined significantly inhibition this reaction and the related water loss problem was improved. Impedance results were found helpful in identification of the species involved in the charging/discharging and the self-discharge of the positive pole. Impurities individually or combined were found to increase the self-discharge during polarization (33-68%), where Sb containing alloy was the worst and impurities combined alloy was the least. The corrosion of the positive pole grid in the constant current charging was found to increase in the presence of impurities by 5-10%. Under open-circuit, the self-discharge of the charged positive grids was found to increase significantly (92-212%) in the presence of impurities, with Sb-containing alloy was the worst. The important result of the study is that the harmful effect of the studied impurities combined was not additive but sometimes lesser than any individual impurity.

Investigations of the Boron Diffusion Process for n-type Mono-Crystalline Silicon Substrates and Ni/Cu Plated Solar Cell Fabrication

  • A boron doping process using a boron tri-bromide ($BBr_3$) as a boron source was applied to form a $p^+$ emitter layer on an n-type mono-crystalline CZ substrate. Nitrogen ($N_2$) gas as an additive of the diffusion process was varied in order to study the variations in sheet resistance and the uniformity of doped layer. The flow rate of $N_2$ gas flow was changed in the range 3 slm~10 slm. The sheet resistance uniformity however was found to be variable with the variation of the $N_2$ flow rate. The optimal flow rate for $N_2$ gas was found to be 4 slm, resulting in a sheet resistance value of $50{\Omega}/sq$ and having a uniformity of less than 10%. The process temperature was also varied in order to study its influence on the sheet resistance and minority carrier lifetimes. A higher lifetime value of $1727.72{\mu}s$ was achieved for the emitter having $51.74{\Omega}/sq$ sheet resistances. The thickness of the boron rich layer (BRL) was found to increase with the increase in the process temperature and a decrease in the sheet resistance was observed with the increase in the process temperature. Furthermore, a passivated emitter solar cell (PESC) type solar cell structure comprised of a boron doped emitter and phosphorus doped back surface field (BSF) having Ni/Cu contacts yielding 15.32% efficiency is fabricated.

  • 110 K 상의 산화물 고온초전도체를 B $i_{1.84}$P $b_{0.34}$S $r_{1.91}$C $a_{2.03}$C $u_{3.06}$ $O_{10+}$$\delta$의 출발조성비로 고상반응법에 의해 합성하였다. 합성된 Bi계 110 K 상의 산화물 고온초전도 물질을 다시 분말 상태로 만든 후, MgO 금속산화물 분말을 5~50 wt%의 각 비율로 혼합하였다. MgO 금속산화물 분말이 혼합된 시편들을 820~86$0^{\circ}C$로 24시간동안 최종 소결시켰다. 그 후, 각 시편들에 대하여 x-선, $T_{c}$, SEM 등을 측정하여 MgO 금속산화물 혼합량에 대한 초전도특성 및 표면의 입자 크기 변화 등에 대한 조사를 진행하였다. MgO 금속산화물의 혼합량이 증가됨에 따라 MgO 관련 피크들의 강도 및 2212 상들의 피크들의 비율은 증가되었고, 시편 내 2223 상의 비율은 감소하고 2212상의 비율은 증가되었다.다.은 증가되었다.다.

Electrodeposition of SnS Thin film Solar Cells in the Presence of Sodium Citrate

  • SnS films have been prepared by electrodeposition technique onto Cu and ITO substrates using acidic solutions containing tin chloride and sodium thiosulfate with sodium citrate as an additive. The effects of sodium citrate on the electrochemical behavior of electrolyte bath containing tin chloride and sodium thiosulfate were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry techniques. Deposited films were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM, optical, photoelectrochemical, and electrical measurements. XRD data showed that deposited SnS with sodium citrate on both substrates were polycrystalline with orthorhombic structures and preferential orientations along (111) directions. However, SnS films with sodium citrate on Cu substrate exhibited a good crystalline structure if compared with that deposited on ITO substrates. FTIR results confirmed the presence of SnS films at peaks 1384 and $560cm^{-1}$. SEM images revealed that SnS with sodium citrate on Cu substrate are well covered with a smooth and uniform surface morphology than deposited on ITO substrate. The direct band gap of the films is about 1.3 eV. p-type semiconductor conduction of SnS was confirmed by photoelectrochemical and Hall Effect measurements. Electrical properties of SnS films showed a low electrical resistivity of $30{\Omega}cm$, carrier concentration of $2.6{\times}10^{15}cm^{-3}$ and mobility of $80cm^2V^{-1}s^{-1}$.

식품 소재로서 장미꽃잎 색소의 안정성 (Stability for Rose Petals Pigment as a Food Material)

  • This study was conducted to develop pigment of flowers as a food material and the red rose(Rosa hybrida L.) was used for this study. To check the possibility of using the rose pigment as a food additive we have extracted the pigment from rose and examined all the factors (pH, temperature, free sugars, organic acids, metal ions) for stability. The results obtained are as follows: In examining the stability of the pigment, the residue of the pigment noticeably decreased with the increase of the pH and the temperature, and among free sugars (fructose, glucose, sucrose) the addition of fructose made the residue the lowest. With the addition of organic acids the samples exhibited the hyperchromic effect throughout the period of the storage. The pigment residue decreased when the amount of the metal ions increased and especially the Cu$^{2+}$ ion was most destructive.

  • We investigated the effects of oxidizer additive on the performance of Cu-CMP process using commonly used tungsten slurry. According to the CMP removal rates and particle size distribution, and the micro- structures of surface layer as a function of oxidizer contents were greatly influenced by the slurry chemical composition of oxidizers. The difference in removal rate and roughness of copper surface are believed to cause by modification in the mechanical behavior of $Al_{2}O_3$ abrasive particles in CMP slurry.

합성수지 용기가 FAD 수용액의 안정성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Synthetic Resin Container on the Stability of FAD Solution)

  • Experiments were carried out to investigate for the interaction between FAD solution and synthetic resin containers made of polyvinylchloride(PVC), polyethylene(PE), and polycarbonate(PC), and for the effect of glycyrrhizine or malic acid on stabilization of FAD in aqueous solution by accelerated stability analysis. Analysis of FAD was determined by means of spectrometer and by separating by paper chromatography and metal ions were detected by atomic absorption spectrophotometer, which were extracted from containers by means of Food and Additive Regulation Standard. The thermal decomposition of FAD in aqueous solution was pseudo first order reaction and it was inhibited by adding glycyrrhizine or malic into the solution. PVC, PE and PC containers accelerated the decomposition of FAD in solution. It is assumed that bivalent heavy metals in resin containers may catalize the hydrolysis of FAD. The metals detected from the containers were Ca, Zn, Cu, Fe, Pb and Cd. And the total amounts of detected metals from PVC were 6.2mcg/cm$^{2}$, PE, 5.5mcg/cm$^{2}$, and PC, 2.7mcg/cm$^{2}$ which were proportional to the rate constant of FAD decomposition in aqueous solution.

Removal of Cu(II) ions by Alginate/Carbon Nanotube/Maghemite Composite Magnetic Beads

  • The composites of alginate, carbon nanotube, and iron(III) oxide were prepared for the removal of heavy metal in aqueous pollutant. Both alginate and carbon nanotube were used as an adsorbent material and iron oxide was introduced for the easy recovery after removal of heavy metal to eliminate the secondary pollution. The morphology of composites was investigated by FE-SEM showing the carbon nanotubes coated with alginate and the iron oxide dispersed in the alginate matrix. The ferromagnetic properties of composites were shown by including iron(III) oxide additive. The copper ion removal was investigated with ICP AES. The copper ion removal efficiency increased greatly over 60% by using alginate-carbon nanotube composites.

  • 석탄유도가스에 포함된 황화수소를 제거시킬 흡착제를 개발하기 위하여 알칼리 토금속, 천이원소 및 아연의 이온반경보다 이온반경이 작은 금속산화물을 산화아연에 첨가시켜 다공성 흡착제를 제조하였다. 600$\circ$C에서 이들 첨가시료를 2.09vol.% 황화수소와 질소가스 혼합기체로 반응시켜 초기속도를 측정하고, 같은 온도에서 사용된 흡착제를 공기로 재생시켰다. 사용된 금속산화물 첨가 흡착제중에서 CaO, TiO$_2$, $Fe_2O_3$, CuO, $Ga_2O_3$ 및 Si$_2$O가 ZnO 흡착제의 초기속도를 증가시켜 첨가제로 사용할 수 있음을 보였다.
