  • With the recent development of ICT, information exchange through data communication network is increasing. Cryptography is widely used as the base technology to protect it. The initial cryptography technology was developed for military use and authorized only by the nation in the past. However, nowadays, much of the authority was unwillingly transferred to the private due to the pervasive use of ICT. As a result, there have been conflicts between the private demand to use cryptography and the nation's authority. In this paper, we survey the conflicts between nations and the private in the process of formulating the cryptography policy. Morever, we investigate the reality of the cryptography policy in Korea. Our investigations are expected to help the government apply cryptographic control policy in a balanced manner and plan development of cryptography industries. Lastly, we propose a need to establish a cryptanalysis organization and to legislate a legal sanction against fraudulent use of cryptography.

  • There has been a rapid increase in the use of cloud email services. As a result, email encryption has become more commonplace as concerns about cloud privacy and security grow. Nevertheless, this increase in usage is creating the challenge of how to effectively be searching and filtering the encrypted emails. They are popular technologies of solving the issue of the encrypted emails searching through searchable public key encryption. However, the problem of encrypted email filtering remains to be solved. As a new approach to finding and filtering encrypted emails in the cloud, we propose a ciphertext-based encrypted policy attribute-based encryption scheme and keyword search procedure based on hidden policy ciphertext. This feature allows the user of searching using some encrypted emails keywords in the cloud as well as allowing the emails filter-based server toward filter the content of the encrypted emails, similar to the traditional email keyword filtering service. By utilizing composite order bilinear groups, a hidden policy system has been successfully demonstrated to be secure by our dual system encryption process. Proposed system can be used with other scenarios such as searching and filtering files as an applicable method.

  • Along with the recent advances in quantum computers, it is anticipated that cryptographic attacks using them will make it insecure to use existing public key algorithms such as RSA and ECC. Currently, a lot of researches are underway to replace them by devising PQC (Post Quantum Cryptography) schemes. In this paper, we propose a performance enhancement method for Lizard implementation which is one of NIST PQC standardization submission. The proposed method is able to improve the performance by 7 ~ 25% for its algorithms compared to the implementation in the submission through the techniques of various implementation aspects. This study hopes that Lizard will become more competitive as a candidate for PQC standardization.

  • In this paper, we study the dysfunctions of cryptography as dual-use goods and national domestic encryption control policies like key recovery system and decryption order. And we examine risks of the breach of the peoples' constitutional rights like the right to privacy in these policies and analyze these policies by applying the principle of the ban on the over-restriction. Finally, we propose the direction and requirements of our national domestic encryption control policy that maintains the balance of peoples' constitutional rights and investigatory powers.

  • This paper tries to solve the problems which previous methods have such as the WCDRM(Watermark and Cryptography DRM) and the model using smart card for protecting digital contents. This study provides a contents distribution model to protect the rights of author, distributor, and user as well as user's information by using technologies such as cryptography, DRM(Digital Right Management), access control, etc. The proposed system is evaluated as the most safety model compared with previous methods because it not only solves the problems which the previous methods have, but also protects four type of risks such as use of contents which other mobile devices download, the attack on the key to decode the message, the attack on leaking the contents, and the internal attack such as an illegal reproduction.

  • IPSec provides two services that are authentication header and Encapsulating Security Payload(ESP). In this research work, security issues on the Internet and the basic concept of IPSec are described. Security issues on the Internet are presented and proposed a possible solution for DDoS attack using IPSec. Therefore, this research will be able to contribute for building secure communication against DDoS attack.

  • With the diverse services of the current M2M environment being expanded to the organizations, the corporations, and the daily lives, the possibility of the occurrence of the vulnerabilities of the security of the related technologies have become an issue. In order to solve such a problem of the vulnerability of the security, this thesis proposes the technique for applying the cryptography algorithm for the protection of the device key of the M2M environment. The proposed technique was based on the elliptic curve cryptography Through the key exchange and the signature exchange in the beginning, the security session was created. And the white box cipher was applied to the encryption that creates the white box table using the security session key. Application results cipher algorithm, Elliptic Curve Cryptography provides a lightweight mutual authentication, a session key for protecting the communication session and a conventional white-box cipher algorithm and was guaranteed the session key used to encrypt protected in different ways. The proposed protocol has secure advantages against Data modulation and exposure, MITM(Man-in-the-middle attack), Data forgery and Manipulation attack.

  • As fusing IT and medical technique, the number of patients who adhere medical equipment inside of them is increasing. However there is a problem of for the third person to tap or modulate the patient's biometric data viciously. This paper suggests quantum encryption-based key distribution model to share key for the third person not to tap or modulate the patient's biometric data between patient and hospital staff. The proposed model uses one-time pad key that shares key sending random bits not direct sending message of quantum data. Also, it guarantees patient's anonymity because the biometric data of injected-device in the body doesn't be exposed unnecessarily.

  • The advancement of information and communication technology has caused a few dysfunction such as hacking. To keep an organization from a harmful hacking, demands for cryptographic modules have been increased. However, the evaluation criteria of cryptographic modules in Korea have been less firmly established. It is difficult for the consumers of cryptographic module to choose an appropriate cryptographic module, and to establish interoperability between applications and cryptographic modules. This study analyzes evaluation criteria, evaluation processes and evaluation policy of CMVP(Cryptographic Module Verification Program) in the advanced countries. The paper suggests a policy for Korea CMVP, in resulting a provision of foundations for international standard and cooperations for international cryptographic policies and systems.

  • As ICT Ecosystem does, electronic government changes in its form. Accordingly, in order to realize Smarter m-Gov, the governments need to vitalize m-Gov services and enact technology policy. Therefor, this manuscript suggests possible model of m-Gov realization and security algorithm as a technology policy which applies quantum cryptography system to server security for the construction of secured m-Gov's infrastructure. What the manuscript suggests seeks administrative ideas of Smarter m-Gov's services which contain security, stability, and economic feasibility for the benefits of nation and enterprises.
