Purpose: The aim of this study was to retrospectively evaluate the clinical and radiological results of the first metatarsophalangeal joint arthrodesis with two crossed screws fixation. Materials and Methods: We treated 23 patients (24 cases) with arthrodesis of the first metatarsophalangeal joint using two crossed screws fixation between December 2000 and May 2005. There were 3 male patients and 20 female patients. Ages ranged from 28 to 74 years (mean, 50 years). Follow-up ranged from 4.1 to 8.2 years (mean, 6.5 years). The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) score and their satisfaction was evaluated clinically, foot anteroposterior and lateral radiograph, radiologically. Results: Of the 24 cases, 6 had surgery for dorsal plate and screws fixation because of failure to acquire firm fixation with two crossed screws fixation. All 6 cases acquired bony union. Fusion of the hallux first metatarsophalangeal joint occurred in 16/18 cases (89%). Nonunion occurred in 2 cases (11%) and was asymptomatic. At last follow-up, hallux valgus angle ranged from 11 to 25 degrees(mean, 17.7 degrees), dorsiflexion ranged from 15 to 25 degrees (mean, 22 degrees). The mean preoperative AOFAS score of 37 points(range, 28 to 45 points) improved to a mean of 77 points (range, 65~90 points) postoperatively. The result of the procedure as rated subjectively by the patient was excellent for 5 cases, good for 11 cases and fair for 2. Conclusion: Comparatively, the arthrodesis of the first metatarsophalangeal joint with crossed screws fixation showed a satisfactory clinical results, we thought that require technical attention for firm fixation in operation.
Attempts at improving beam-column joint performance has resulted in non-conventional ways of reinforcement such as the use of the crossed inclined bars in the joint area. Despite the wide accumulation of test data, the influence of the crossed inclined bars on the shear strength of the cyclically loaded exterior beam-column joints has not yet been quantified and incorporated into code recommendations. In this study, the investigation of joints has been pursued on two different fronts. In the first approach, the parameters that influence the behaviour of the cyclically loaded beam-column joints are investigated. Several parametric studies are carried out to explore the shear resisting mechanisms of cyclically loaded beam-column joints using an experimental database consisting of a large number of joint tests. In the second approach, the mechanical behaviour of joints is investigated and the equations for the principal tensile strain and the average shear stress are derived from joint mechanics. It is apparent that the predictions of these two approaches agree well with each other. A design equation that predicts the shear strength of the cyclically loaded exterior beam-column joints is proposed. The design equation proposed has three major differences from the previously suggested design equations. First, the influence of the bond conditions on the joint shear strength is considered. Second, the equation takes the influence of the shear transfer mechanisms of the crossed inclined bars into account and, third, the equation is applicable on joints with high concrete cylinder strength. The proposed equation is compared with the predictions of the other design equations. It is apparent that the proposed design equation predicts the joint shear strength accurately and is an improvement on the existing code recommendations.
In [6] and [7], we introduced graph von Neumann algebras which are the (groupoid) crossed product algebras of von Neumann algebras and graph groupoids via groupoid actions. We showed that such crossed product algebras have the graph-depending amalgamated reduced free probabilistic properties. In this paper, we will consider a scalar-valued $W^*$-probability on a given graph von Neumann algebra. We show that a diagonal graph $W^*$-probability space (as a scalar-valued $W^*$-probability space) and a graph W¤-probability space (as an amalgamated $W^*$-probability space) are compatible. By this compatibility, we can find the relation between amalgamated free distributions and scalar-valued free distributions on a graph von Neumann algebra. Under this compatibility, we observe the scalar-valued freeness on a graph von Neumann algebra.

We present a rare case of a patient with aortoiliac occlusive disease on the background of type A crossed renal ectopia, for whom open surgical intervention was required. Aortic exposure in patients with concomitant crossed renal ectopia can present technical challenges to the vascular surgeon. The knowledge of variations in the ectopic renal blood supply is of paramount importance when performing surgery to treat this condition and affects the choice of surgical exposure. We present and discuss the operative details of our patient and outline an approach to this subset of patients.
For a group action ${\alpha}$ on a Kac algebra $\mathbb{K}$ with the crossed product Kac algebra $\mathbb{K}{\rtimes}_{\alpha}G$, we will show that ${\pi}_{\alpha}(\mathbb{K})$ is a sub-Kac algebra of $\mathbb{K}{\rtimes}_{\alpha}G$. We will also investigate the intrinsic group $G(\mathbb{K})$ of $\mathbb{K}$ and get a group action ${\beta}$ on a symmetric Kac algebra $\mathbb{K}_s(G(\mathbb{K})$ with the crossed product sub-Kac algebra $\mathbb{K}_s(G(\mathbb{K}){\rtimes}_{\beta}G$ of $\mathbb{K}{\rtimes}_{\alpha}G$.
In this note we extend our previous result about the structure of the dual of a crossed product $C^*$-algebra $A{\rtimes}_{\sigma}G$, when G is a finite group. We consider the space $\tilde{\Gamma}$ which consists of pairs of irreducible representations of A and irreducible projective representations of subgroups of G. Our goal is to endow $\tilde{\Gamma}$ with a topology so that the orbit space e $G{\backslash}{\tilde{\Gamma}}$ is homeomorphic to the dual of $A{\rtimes}_{\sigma}G$. In particular, we will show that if $\widehat{A}$ is Hausdorff then $G{\backslash}{\tilde{\Gamma}}$ is homeomorphic to $\widehat{A{\rtimes}_{\sigma}G}$.

In this paper, a CLPDA (Crossed Log-Periodic Dipole Antenna) for EMI / EMC Measurement is presented, and is analyzed by Combining the moment method and the transmission line theory. The CLPDA has a broaddband characteristic. It is so important to achieve a impedance matching over op- erating frequency range that Twin-boom method is used at feed point. Here, the current distribution, input admittance, radiation pattern and gain are calculated. In practice CLPDA is fabricated. Calculated result for radiation pattern and gain are very closed to measured result.

A crossed incoplete hypercube structure is based on previous crossed hypercube structure that reduces the diameter about 50% and has the same complexity with general hypercube and is able to expand to any number of nodes. In this study, we proposed a fault-tolerant adaptive routing scheme and broadcasting scheme. Fault-tolerant adaptive routing scheme is resilient to system faults. And performance evaluation is executed on the proposed sturcture. It is enhanced about 30%.
Weak Crossed Product Algebras correspond to certain graphs called lower subtractive graphs. The properties of such algebras can be obtained by studying this kind of graphs ([4], [5]). In [1], the author showed that a weak crossed product is Frobenius and its restricted subalgebra is symmetric if and only if its associated graph has a unique maximal vertex. A special construction of these graphs came naturally and was known as standard lower subtractive graph. It was a deep question that when such a special graph possesses unique maximal vertex? This work is to answer the question partially and to give a particular characterization for such graphs at which the corresponding algebras are isomorphic. A graph that follows the mentioned characterization is called flexible. Flexibility is to some extend a generalization of the so-called Coxeter groups and its weak Bruhat ordering.

Well-aligned nanowire arrays can be used as building blocks for nanoscale device. Recently, we reported that well-aligned single-crystal organic nanowires has been created by using a direct printing method which is named liquid-bridge mediated nanotransfer molding (LB-nTM). Moreover, multi-layering nanostructures can be fabricated by repeating this printing process. As a result, it is possible to make simple and basic concept of heterojunction devices such as crossed nanowire devices. We fabricated crossed single-crystal organic nanowires nanojunction devices from 6,13-bis (triisopropylsilylethynyl) pentacene (TIPS-PEN) and fullerene (C60) single-crystal nanowires using by direct printing method in solution process. Crossed TIPSPEN/ C60 single-crystal nanowires diode has rectifying behavior with on/off ratios of ~13. In addition, the device shows photodiode characteristics as well as rectification. Our study represent methodology of heterojunction devices using single-crystal nanowires, thereby provide a new direction of future nanoelectronics.
