  • Upon ruling that two photographs of "Solsum(located in Samchuk city)" are not substantially similar, issues on the level of protection for the copyrighted photographs expecially on landscape, which appearance could be similar whoever takes, were raised. Accordingly, this study summarizes and suggests the standards of expression differentiating from idea on photographic works. The results are as such. Elements of expression on photographs are positioning of subject, framing, selection of camera angle, control of light's direction and quantity, length of exposure, speed of shutter, timing or posing of the shutter. kinds of emulsion, methods of development, and any other methods of creative and characteristic photography. On the other hand, elements of ideas of photographic works are theme, concept, feeling, appearance of objects, time or season of taking a picture, vantage point, choice of horizontal or vertical angle, etc. As a result, this study reconfirms that copyright law entitles photographers to copyright as to their minimal degree of creativity, not as to their sweat of brows.

  • As the dark side of society, Idle spaces, which occurred with the paradigm change due to rapid modernization and industralization, has been existing as a severed part in cities. But with the periodic change, interest in the existing place and regional regeneration, and the necessity of reconsidering about the idle spaces values of space, city environment, socio-culture, and economy was proposed. I estimated that the change of relational aesthetics aspect of modern arts resulted in the consideration of recognizing 'place' of art, through the study, it was revealed that the form of modern arts and change of enjoyment were related to space, and the fact that this had a relation with the rise of artistic regeneration of idle spaces. mutually communicative relationship formation and practical form of arts was deducted through the interpretation of relational aesthetics, Idle spaces and artistic regeneration space can be categorized into forms of experiential space, creative space, and cultural space, depending on the formation of relationship between author-art-audience. Through the comprehensive analysis, Artistic regeneration space by relationship formation is Vitalization of various forms of art and participation program eliminates the boundary between creation and enjoyment, and the space itself can be said to contain extensive, integral, and nonterritorialization meaning as a place of experiencing art. In other words, Artistic regeneration space of idle spaces forms a close relationship with the local society, and is placed within the context of daily domain as an open space, straying off from the existing separative and closed artistic space configuration. and artistic changeover of idle spaces is not only the appearance of space that simply fulfills function according to transfiguration of modern art, but signifies that art is coexisting with space as an indivisible relationship, and can be said to be the foothold of new relationship creation as the practical 'place' of art.

  • Tongyeong International Music Festival was established to commemorate the world-renowned composer Isang Yun. Despite its short history, the event is quickly grown into a global music festival. This paper considers the future direction of Tongyeong International Music Festival as seen through the musical world of Isang Yun. Although Isang Yun suffered through Korea's modern history and was deported from his own country, his works clearly use Korea, in particular the cultural heritage of Tongyeong, as his creative energy. His music is reflected in the festival in various forms, i.e., East and West, past and present, North and South and maestro and rookie, while pursuing a world of harmony. In order for Tongyeong International Music Festival to join the ranks of global festivals, an effort needs to be made to find the values from the tangible and intangible cultural resources of Tongyeong, the source of Isang Yun's musical creations, and connect these values to the music festival. I believe that, based on such cultural capacity, when Tongyeong International Music Festival becomes a unique festival that differentiates itself from music festivals in the west, it will advance into the successful music festival of a global music city.

  • To survey the prevalence of Sarcocystis infections, 210 heart samples were collected from Korean native cattle (Bos taurus coreanae) at an abattoir in Daejeon Metropolitan City, Republic of Korea. Sarcocysts were detected form 31 specimens (14.8%) and identified as Sarcocystis cruzi via transmission electron microscopy. The wall of S. cruzi has flattened protrusions that did not contain fibrils or microfilaments. The protrusions arose irregularly from the base, contained a fine granular substance, lacked internal microfilaments, and measured approximately $0.21-1.25{\mu}m$ in length and $0.05-0.07{\mu}m$ in width. Sequence analysis revealed 99.5% homology to S. cruzi. This is the first report on the prevalence of S. cruzi in native cattle from the Republic of Korea.

  • Gwangju Metropolitan City has implemented a creative regeneration project of Gwangju Folly in the site of Gwangju-eup Fortress as part of the Gwangju Design Biennale by inviting well-known international architects. This study examined and analyzed the characteristics of location, place, and space through actual survey. The results were as follows. Gwangju Folly were mainly located at the four gates and corners of Gwangju-eup Fortress, main entrances of Asia Culture Complex, and historical places where the May 18 Democratization Movement occurred. The common place of Gwangju Folly was a footpath and common location types were the full location of footpath width and the partial location of footpath width. For the spatial types of Gwangju Folly, the practical type which people can stay was the most common(2/3). In the partial location of footpath width, the type which people take a rest and look out over the surroundings accounted for a half. In the full location of footpath width, the gate type which people pass accounted for 2/5. However, as footpath width was minimum for walking, both partial and full occupation types were narrow in place. It influenced the image of Gwangju Folly. Gwangju Folly did not play as a figure and show architects' intentions clearly because of their narrow locations. Therefore, it is very necessary to make a plan to maintain places so that Gwangju Folly do not have a cramped image and architects' intentions become clear with citizens' cultural competence. Also, urban property which creates the identity and attraction of Gwangju continuously should be settled down through helping citizens recognize the intention and value of artistic works.

  • Singapore government is strongly promoting the development and utilization of underground space in national level due to the nature of the city state which lacks the land. As well as conventional underground utilization in shallow depth such as metro and underground roads, large rock cavern utilization has been started after the successful completion of the underground ammunition depot in the rock, and Jurong Rock Cavern, the second large underground cavern project has just been completed. In this paper, after evaluating the conditions of the underground development in rock mass through the analysis of the geology of Singapore, the history and current status of underground development are examined. Several creative development plans from Singapore government such as underground reservoirs, underground automation logistics systems and underground warehouses storage etc. are introduced with technical issues. This paper also discusses the problems and issues related to the development of large underground space in rock mass in Singapore. It is expected that such active development of underground space in Singapore can give many opportunities and also challenges for rock engineering and industry in the future.
