Influence of structure coupling effect on damping coefficient of offshore wind turbine blades

  • The aim of this study was to explore the influence of structure coupling effect on structural damping of blade based on the blade vibration characteristic. For this purpose, the scaled blade model of NREL 5 MW offshore wind turbine was processed and employed in the wind tunnel test to validate the reliability of theoretical and numerical models. The attenuation curves of maximum displacement and the varying curves of equivalent damping coefficient of the blade under the rated condition were respectively compared and analyzed by constructing single blade model and whole machine model. The attenuation law of blade dynamic response was obtained and the structure coupling effect was proved to exert a significant influence on the equivalent damping coefficient. The results indicate that the attenuation trend of the maximum displacement response curve of the single blade varies more obviously with the increase of elastic modulus as compared to that under the structure coupling effect. In contrast to the single blade model, the varying curve of equivalent damping coefficient with the period is relatively steep for the whole machine model. The findings are of great significance to guide the structure design and material selection for wind turbine blades.

유전체 공진기의 직접결합에 의한 K-Band 저위상잡음 발진기 설계 (A Design of K-Band Low Phase noise Oscillator by Direct Coupling of K-band Dielectric Resonator)

  • 본 논문에서는 직접결합에 의한 저 위상잡음 유전체 공진기 설계를 위하여, 고유전율의 유전체 공진기와 마이크로스트립선로 사이의 결합계수에 대해 분석하였으며, 고유전율로 인한 Q값의 보완을 위한 병렬궤환 회로 적용한 유전체 공진 발진기의 위상잡음을 분석하였다. 유전체 공진기의 위상잡음 분석과 결합계수의 분석을 통하여 고안정 유전체 공진 발진기를 최적화 설계한 결과 20.25GHz 유전체 공진 발진기의 ${\epsilon}_r$=30인 유전체 공진기를 사용한 경우 결합계수가 약 3.6의 값을 나타낼 때 20.25GHz에서 위상잡음은 -84.3dBc/Hz@1KHz를 나타냄을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 K-Band 에서도 주파수 체배 방식에 의한 위상잡음 손실을 방지하는 직접결합 설계 방안을 제시하였다.

  • In the analysis of characteristic behaviors of a real transformer with coupling coefficient K is less than 1, this paper presents the more accurate and practical profits than the traditional analysis of the transformer treated as K∼1. This results from the use of the coupling coefficient type equivalent circuit of the transformer which includes K as positive parameter. Furthermore, a leakage transformer is analyzed in a unified method and the results of analysis are consistent with the practical measurements of the transformer. By using the above equivalent circuit, the characteristics referred to the load side are expressed as Thevenin voltage source and the leakage inductor (1-K2)L2. Therefore, these analysis about the output voltage and the damping factor in the transient state which are affected by the leakage inductor are confirmed to be an effective method.

Performance Analysis of Contactless Electrical Power Transfer for Maglev

  • Contactless electrical power transfer through an air gap is a revived technology for supplying energy to many movable applications including Maglev. In this paper, magnetic equivalent circuits and analytical models of contactless electrical power transfer systems are developed and evaluated through experiment. Overall coupling coefficient and overall efficiency are introduced as means for evaluating the systems' performance. Compensating capacitors in primary and secondary sides of the systems improve the overall coupling coefficient and overall efficiency. Using the analytical models, the effects of different parameters and variables such as air gap and load current are analyzed to give a high coupling coefficient and an improved efficiency of power transfer for different compensation structures.

  • The coupling coefficient K controls the characteristic behaviors of leakage transformer. The value of coupling coefficient K was obtained from th leakage flux of leakage transformer an ascertained from the variation due to the function of current. Therefore, this paper presented the equivalent circuit of leakage transformer consisting of Thevenin's constant voltage source and inductor as (1-K2)L2 which were proportional to parameter K. The proposed equivalent circuit verified the validity in designing the leakage transformer because it was in good agreements of the behaviors of ideal transformer (K is 1), leakage transformer (K is 0$\leq$K$\leq$1), inductor (K is 0).

  • 본 논문에서는 필터함수의 감쇄극점(poles)과 반사손실(Return Loss)로부터 전송계수($S_{21}$)와 반사계수($S_{11}$)를 도출하고, 이 값들로부터 대역통과필터 설계를 위한 결합계수행렬 계산법을 제시하였다. 계산된 결합계수행렬에 유사변환을 적용하여서 결합계수행렬을 접힌 표준형 필터 구조의 커플링계수 행렬로 변환하였다. 그 결과를 이용하여 접힌 표준형 필터를 설계하였다.

  • This paper proposes the calculation method of magnetic coupling coefficient of contact-less power supply by the 3D finite element method with a variation of the secondary core position. The primary, secondary self and leakage inductances and the capacitances of a resonant circuit are calculated by the finite element analysis results. The magnetic coupling coefficients are obtained also. The power factors are obtained by simulation for the magnetic coupling coefficients and compared.

결합계수 및 공진 주파수 조절이 가능한 내장형 PIFA에 관한 연구 (A Study on Coupling Coefficient and Resonant Frequency Controllable Internal PIFA)

  • 본 논문은 PIFA의 방사체와 접지면의 물리적 변화없이 안테나의 결합 계수와 공진 주파수를 조절할 수 있는 이동 통신 단말기용 내장형 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안된 안테나는 하나의 단락점에 추가된 인덕턴스에 따라 급전점과 단락점 사이의결합계수 뿐만 아니라 안테나의 공진 주파수도 조절한다. 제안된방법은 전계의 세기가 약한단락점에 인덕터를 연결하여 안테나의 성능 변화를 최소화 했다. PIFA의 단락점과 접지면 사이에 추가된 인덕터의 값이 0nH ~ 3.3nH로 변할 때 조절 가능한 공진 주파수 범위는 1650MHz ~ 1830MHz (약 180MHz)이고 인덕터의 값이 커질수록 안테나의 결합계수는 커진다. 이를 통하여 이동 통신 단말기의 형태 및 사용자의 환경에 따른 임피던스 및 공진 주파수의 변화를 전기적으로 조절하여 부정합에 의한 손실을 최소화했고 안테나 방사 성분의 어떠한 변형 없이 10%의 크기 감소효과를 얻을 수 있다. 1650MHz ~ 1830MHz의 주파수 영역에서 측정된 PIFA의 이득 감소는 0 ~ 3.3nH의 인덕터 값의 변화에 따라 0.93dB 이내이다.

콘크리트 슬래브궤도에서 레일과 철근 사이의 결합계수에 대한 연구 (A Study on Coupling Coefficient Between Rail and Reinforcing Bars in Concrete Slab Track)

  • The system of the railway signaling using the track transmits the approved speed to the location of a train and it. Referring to the way of transmitting train control information, there are the one transmitting it to the on-board system of a train using the direct track, the another transmitting it establishing an instrument, and the other transmitting an instrument by a railway track. The one is the method using the direct track as a conductor for composing the part of the track and attaining the information controlling a train by transmitting a signal to the track. It is used for the high-speed railway and the subway. The method using the track attains information by transmitting it to returned information, and the on-board system of a train attains it by magnetic coupling. Because many reinforcing bars on the concrete slab track are used, interaction between a rail and a reinforcing bar that is not produced on ballast track is made. Due to the interaction, the electric characteristic of rail is changed. In the current paper, we numerically computed the coupling coefficient between the rail and the reinforcing bar based on the concrete slab track throughout the model related to the rail and the reinforcing bar using the concrete slab track that is used in the second interval of the Gyeongbu high-speed railway, and we defined the coupling coefficient not changed in the electric characteristic of rail in the condition that there is no interaction between the rail and the reinforcing bar.

The Influence of Coupling Coefficient between Wayside Transmitter and On-board Receiver upon Operation Characteristics of the ATS System

  • The ATS system is used to provide wayside signaling. Currently, the oscillation frequency is set at 78[kHz] in the normal state. As the on-board receiver crosses over the wayside transmitter, the oscillation frequency is changed by capacitors of the wayside transmitter in a manner dependent on the train speed. As the oscillation frequency is changed, the waveform is modified in the wayside transmitter as well as in the on-board receiver. When there are other signal systems such as a ATO system present near the wayside transmitter, frequency interference occurs. This phenomenon arises since other signals or communication frequencies present will be included in the waveform. Trains often stop due to these other frequencies included in the waveform. In this paper, a model of the interaction between the wayside transmitter and on-board receiver is suggested and frequency response in the wayside transmitter and on-board receiver in the presence of the other signals are estimated by the coupling coefficient. Also, the coupling coefficients are estimated, and the optimal value is proposed.
