  • The $[Ni_{80}Fe_{20}/Cu/Co/Cu]$ multilayers were grown by evaporation technique, and according to magnetic exchange coupling relation, magnetoresistance ratio and magnetization curve were studied by Co inserting $Ni_{80}Fe_{20}/Cu$ interface. Insertion of Co layer to the antiferromagnetically coupled system, i. e $t_{Cu} = 25\;{\AA}$, decrese the MR ratio contrary to previous reports. However the insertion to the ferromagneticalyl coupled $(t_{Cu} = 27\;{\AA})$ and the noncoupled $(t_{Cu} = 47\;{\AA})$ systems increase the ratio to 3.5 % and 6 % respectively. The results imply that the insertion change the magnetic exchange coupling state as well as the spin dependent scattering of conduction electrons. Besides, insertion of Co layer between Cu and $Ni_{80}Fe_{20}$ layer enhaces thermal stability to the 300 $^{\circ}C$, which indicates that insertion of Co has a role of the effective diffusion barrier.

  • The micro device, coil, and channel for the biosensor integrated with the GMR-SV device based on the antiferromagnetic IrMn layer was fabricated by the light lithography process. When RBCs coupled with several magnetic beads with a diameter of $1{\mu}m$ passed on the micro channel, the movement of $RBC+{\mu}Beads$ is controlled by the electrical AC input signal. The $RBC+{\mu}Beads$ having a micro-magnetic field captured above the GMR-SV device is changed as the output signals for detection status. From these results, the GMR-SV device having the width magnitude of a few micron size can be applied as the biosensor for the analysis of a new magnetic property as the membrane's deformation of RBC coupled to magnetic beads.

  • We conducted a phased electromagnetic forming process analysis (EFPA) over time through a coupling of electromagnetic analysis and structural analysis. The analysis is conducted through a direct linkage between electromagnetic analysis and structural analysis. The analysis process is repeated until the electric current is completely discharged by a formed coil. We calculate the forming force that affects the workpiece using MAXWELL, a commercial electromagnetic finite element analysis program. Then, we simulate plastic behavior by using the calculated forming force data as the forming force input to ANSYS, a commercial structure finite element analysis program. We calculate the forming force data by using the model shape in MAXWELL, a commercial electromagnetic finite element analysis program. We repeat the process until the current is fully discharged by the formed coil. Our results can be used to reduce the error in data transformation with a reduced number of data transformations, because the proposed approach directly links the electromagnetic analysis and the structural analysis after removing the step of the numerical analysis of a graph describing the forming force, unlike the existing electromagnetic forming process. Second, it is possible to simulate a more realistic forming force by keeping a certain distance between nodes using the re-mesh function during the repeated analysis until the current is completely discharged by the formed coil, based on the MAXWELL results. We compare and review the results of the EFPA using the peak value of the forming force that acts on the workpiece (which is the existing analysis method), and the proposed phased EFPA over time approach.

  • The role of magnetic anisotropy of the antiferromagnetic layer on the magnetization process of exchange coupled polycrystalline ferromagnetidantiferromagnetic bilayers is discussed. In order to elucidate the magnetic torque response of Ni-Fe/Mn-Ir bilayers, the single spin ensemble model is newly introduced, taking into account the two-dimensionally random distribution of the magnetic anisotropy axes of the antiferromagnetic grains. The mechanism of the reversible inducement of the exchange anisotropy along desirable directions by field cooling procedure is successfully explained with the new model. Unidirectional anisotropy constant, J$k$, of polycrystalline Ni-Fe/Mn-Ir and Co-Fe/Mn-Ir bilayers is investigated as functions of the chemical composition of both the ferromagnetic layer and the antiferromagnetic layer. The effects of microstructure and surface modification of the antiferromagnetic layer on JK are also discussed. As a notable result, an extra large value of J$k$, which exceeds 0.5 erg/cm$^2$, is obtained for $Co_{70}Fe_{30}Mn_{75}Ir_{25}$ bilayer with the ultra-thin (50${\AA}$∼100${\AA}$) Mn-Ir layer. The exchange anisotropy of $Co_{70}Fe_{30}$ 40 ${\AA}/Mn_{75}Ir_{25}$ 100 ${\AA}$ bilayer is stable for thermal annealing up to $400{^{\circ}C}$, which is sufficiently high for the application of spin valve magnetoresistive devices.

  • In this article, entropy generation on MHD Williamson nanofluid over a porous shrinking sheet has been analyzed. Nonlinear thermal radiation and chemical reaction effects are also taken into account with the help of energy and concentration equation. The fluid is electrically conducting by an external applied magnetic field while the induced magnetic field is assumed to be negligible due to small magnetic Reynolds number. The governing equations are first converted into the dimensionless expression with the help of similarity transformation variables. The solution of the highly nonlinear coupled ordinary differential equation has been obtained with the combination of Successive linearization method (SLM) and Chebyshev spectral collocation method. Influence of all the emerging parameters on entropy profile, temperature profile and concentration profile are plotted and discussed. Nusselt number and Sherwood number are also computed and analyzed. It is observed that entropy profile increases for all the physical parameters. Moreover, it is found that when the fluid depicts non-Newtonian (Williamson fluid) behavior then it causes reduction in the velocity of fluid, however, non-Newtonian behavior enhances the temperature and nanoparticle concentration profile.

  • Magnetic properties of $Nd_4Fe_{77.5}B_{18.5}$ compound in term of exchange coupling between $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ and $Fe_3B$ magnetic nano crystals in melt spun powders were characterized by varying the quenching speed in mass production line. The exchange coupled phenomenon was characterized as functions of nano crystal size and volume fraction of each magnetic phase which was possible by employing Henkel plot (${\delta}M$) and refined Mossbauer spectroscopy. The optimized magnetic properties obtained from the present volume production line were: $B_r= 11.73 kG,{_i}H_c/ = 3.082 kOe$, and $(BH)_{max} = 12.28 MGOe.$ The volume fraction of each magnetic phase for those conditions giving the grain size of 10 nm were ${\alpha}-Fe; 4.2%, Fe_3B; 60.1 %$, and $Nd_2Fe_{14}B; 35.7%$. The superior magnetic properties in the $Nd_2Fe_{14}Fe_3B$ based nanocomposites were confirmed to be dependant on the volume fraction of $Fe_3B$.

  • In this paper calculations of magnetisation and magnetoresistance characteristics of the Spin Valve (SV) and Pseudo Spin Valve (PSV) spintronics structures are reported and compared with the experimental data. The magnetisation reversal process was analysed with respect to the Stoner- Wohlfahrt model of total surface energy in terms of uniaxial anisotropy, exchange coupling between ferromagnetic layers, unidirectional exchange anisotropy of pinned layer (modelled by exchange coupling between magnetisation of pinned layer and net magnetisation of antiferromagnetic layer with high anisotropy). The numerical simulation of the model to the experimental magnetisation data yielded the above parameters for SV and PSV structures. These parameters were used to more sophistically micromagnetic modelling tool originating from the project called Object Oriented Micromagnetic Framework. Influence of the shape anisotropy of the Magnetic Tunnelling Junction cell used in MRAM was simulated by means of micromagnetic simulations. Results were compared to those obtained from the spot Kerr measurements.

  • In our previous work, microstructure and magnetic properties of two-phase exchange-coupled $Sm_2Fe_{15}Ga_2C_{x}$/$\alpha$-Fe nanocomposites have been investigated by means of x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and magnetization measurement. It was found the exchange coupling between the magnetically hard phase $Sm_2Fe_{15}Ga_2C_{x}$ and the magnetically soft one ${\alpha}$-Fe results in an enhancement of the remanence. The sizes of crystallites of both phases are, however much larger than the Block domain-wall width of the magnetically hard phase. This microstructure gives rise to a concave demagnetization curve and consequently reduces the maximum energy Product. In order to improve their magnetic properties, a few Percent of Zr, which may be effective to refine the microstructure through rapid quenching, was introduced into the nanocomposites. The addition of Zr was found to improve the magnetic properties significantly, Under optimum heat-treatment conditions, the remanence, coercivity and maximum energy Product increase from 0.65 T, 0.48 T and 50 kJ/$m^{3}$ for the Zr-free sample to 0.72 T, 0.77 T and 71.6 kJ/$m^{3}$ for the 1 at.% Zr-containing one, respectively, The improvements of magnetic properties are due to the refinement of microstructure by the addition of Zr.

  • Two different compositions of melt spun magnetic alloys, $ Nd_4Fe_{80}B_{16} and Nd_4Fe_{76}Co}\_3Hf_{0.5}Ga_{0.5}B_{16},$ were characterized in terms of magnetic properties and thermal behaviors. It was found that the addition of Hf and Ga effectively slow down the crystallization rate of the nanocomposite $ Nd_2Fe_{14}B/Fe_3B$ magnet. Coercivity(iHc) changes only slightly with varying the post annealing conditions confirming that iHc is not a sensitive magnetic quantity as a function of grain size and exchange coupled interaction. The experimentally observed behaviors of Mr and Hc do not vary monotonously with in-creasing grain size which is not in agreement with the numerically calculated result near the critical grain size (dc). The plot of the grain size dependence for the remanence and coercivity in isotrop!c nanocomposite magnets has been revised in this study. The maxium energy product, $(B, H)_{max}$ =15.34 MGOe, and a reduced remanence, Mr/Ms=0.84 were obtained, respectively.

  • The inrush current of transformer can flow when the overvoltage caused by surge or external faults is applied. In this paper, an algorithm for the calculation of this inruch current is proposed. The capacitances of windings are precalculated by using 3 dimensional FEM and are appended to circuit of the transformer. And transient characteristics of the transformer are analyzed by axisymmetric FEM which is coupled magnetic field of transformer and circuit of transformer. When a transformer encounters abnormal voltage, using the proposed method, internal magnetic field of transformer, voltages and currents of windings are calculated.
