Chlamydomonas sp. 유래 mycosporine-like amino acid 혼합물의 항주름 활성 (Anti-corrugation activity of micosporine-like amino acid mixtures from Chlamydomonas sp.)

  • 미세조류 유래 mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs) 혼합물의 항주름활성을 분석하기 위하여 type I procollagen, elastin 및 involucrin 유전자 발현분석을 실시하였다. Chlamydomonas sp.를 80% 에탄올로 추출하고, 컬럼을 통해 분획물을 정제하고, HPLC 분석을 통해 asterina 330+palythine (A+P) 및 shinorine+palythine (S+P) 혼합물을 정제하였다. MTT assay 결과 A+P 및 S+P는 0.1 mg/mL까지 세포독성을 나타내지 않았다. UV에 노출된 섬유아세포에 대한 MAAs 혼합물의 영향을 분석하였을 때, 0.05 mg/mL A+P 및 0.01 mg/mL S+P 농도에서 각각 2.7 및 3.6 배 PCOLCE mRNAs 발현이 증가하였다. Elastin 유전자는 0.01 mg/mL의 A+P 및 S+P를 처리하였을 때 각각 5.59배 및 3.1배 발현이 증가하였다. 특히 0.01 mg/mL의 A+P 및 S+P 농도에서 involucrin mRNAs 발현이 UV 처리된 대조구와 비교하였을 때 5배 및 2.5배 감소하였다. 결론적으로 Chlamydomonas sp. 유래 MAAs 혼합물은 주름개선용 기능성 화장품 개발을 위한 소재로써의 가능성이 충분한 것으로 판단되었다.

정현파형 주름강판의 전단좌굴특성 분석 (An Investigation of the Shear Buckling Characteristics of Sinusoidal Corrugated Steel Plates)

  • 파형강판은 제형, 정현형 등의 형상으로 얇은 강판을 주름지게 가공한 것으로 두꺼운 평판을 대신하여 사용하여도 높은 면외방향의 강성을 확보할 수 있다. 또한, 아코디언효과로 축방향 강성이 거의 없어 플레이트거더의 웨브에 적용할 경우 웨브가 전단력만을 부담하는 방법으로 쉽게 설계할 수 있다. 그러나 파형강판의 전단좌굴은 평판과는 달리 국부좌굴과 전체좌굴 외에도 이들의 연성에 의해서도 좌굴이 발생하는 매우 복잡한 특성이 있으며, 이러한 연성좌굴에 대한 원인과 특성의 규명은 정현형의 경우 제형보다 연구결과가 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 정현형 파형강판의 전단좌굴 특성과 연성좌굴이 발생하는 경향에 대해서 연구하였다. 전단좌굴강도를 계산하기 위해서는 유한요소프로그램을 이용하였고 해석결과를 정해와 비교하였다. 또한, 주름의 두께와 형상 파라메타에 따른 좌굴응력 변화의 특성과 좌굴모드형상의 변화를 분석하였으며, 이들의 결과를 이론식의 결과와 비교하여 좌굴양상의 변화시점에 대해서 분석하였다.

교량 신축부 허용 침목간격 검토 (Review on the Allowable Sleeper Spacing at a Bridge Expansion Joint)

  • It is increasing construction of long span railway bridge with concrete track system for speed up of railway and efficient maintenance of track. As the sleeper of the concrete track system layed on a bridge is fixed on deck of the bridge, the displacement of the sleeper and deck is same. Therefore, the spacing between two sleeper installed at the end of the adjacent deck near the expansion joint of bridge becomes vary according to the longitudinal expansion of a deck by temperature change. By the way, if the spacing of sleepers become increase excessively, it causes large bending stress of in a rail, and it can leads failure or reduction of fatigue life of the rail. Further more, the excessive displacement of the rail may induce decrease ride comfort as well as corrugation of rail surface. Therefore, it is required to determine the allowable maximum sleeper spacing to prevent such problems. For the purpose, investigation on the influence factor on sleeper spacing for straight track was carried out. Variation of bending moment in a rail, wheel force, and the ratio of primary and secondary deflection of the rail according to sleeper spacing was investigated, and, as a result, the maximum allowable sleeper spacing at the bridge expansion joint was suggested.

포장완충재의 구성에 따른 배의 단일파형 충격반응 (Functional Shock Responses of the Pear According to the Combination of the Packaging Cushioning Materials)

  • Physical damages on fruits may be caused by shock and vibration inputs that transmitted from the transporting vehicle through the packaging and cushioning materials to the fruit. In this study, both half sine shock test and trapezoidal shock test were performed by MIL-STD-810F specification in order to investigate and represent the shock response properties such as peak acceleration and shock amplification factors of the pear according to packaging and cushioning materials for optimal packaging design during transportation. Shock excitation data that had been measured on the vehicle operating on the real road were used. Shock response properties measured by half sine shock test were smaller than those measured by trapezoidal shock test. Results represent that corrugation shapes and thickness can significantly affect the cushioning performance than the paper configurations of cushioning pad and showed that fruits may be damaged seriously while transported on the unpaved road without the properly cushioned packaging practices.

Transverse load carrying capacity of sinusoidally corrugated steel web beams with web openings

  • The present paper presents a study on the behavior and design of corrugated web steel beams with and without web openings. In the literature, the web opening problem in steel beams was dealt with mostly for steel beams with plane web plates and research on the effect of an opening on a corrugated web was found out to be very limited. The present study deals mainly with the effect of web openings on the transverse load carrying capacity of steel beams with sinusoidally corrugated webs. A general purpose finite element program (ABAQUS) was used. Simply supported corrugated web beams of 2 m length and with circular web openings at quarter span points were considered. These points are generally considered to be the optimum locations of web openings for steel beams. Various cases were analyzed including the size of the openings and the corrugation density which is a function of the magnitude and length of the sine wave. Models without web holes were also analyzed and compared with other cases which were all together examined in terms of load-deformation characteristics and ultimate web shear resistance.

An empirical formulation to predict maximum deformation of blast wall under explosion

  • This study proposes an empirical formulation to predict the maximum deformation of offshore blast wall structure that is subjected to impact loading caused by hydrocarbon explosion. The blast wall model is assumed to be supported by a simply-supported boundary condition and corrugated panel is modelled. In total, 1,620 cases of LS-DYNA simulations were conducted to predict the maximum deformation of blast wall, and they were then used as input data for the development of the empirical formulation by regression analysis. Stainless steel was employed as materials and the strain rate effect was also taken into account. For the development of empirical formulation, a wide range of parametric studies were conducted by considering the main design parameters for corrugated panel, such as geometric properties (corrugation angle, breadth, height and thickness) and load profiles (peak pressure and time). In the case of the blast profile, idealised triangular shape is assumed. It is expected that the obtained empirical formulation will be useful for structural designers to predict maximum deformation of blast wall installed in offshore topside structures in the early design stage.

반복 주름을 갖는 이차원 덕트의 음파차단 해석 (An Analysis of the Sound Stopband in Periodically Corrugated 2-D Ducts)

  • 본 논문은 경계가 주기적으로 변하는 주름관에 음파가 전파할 때 발생하는 차단주파수밴드 (stopband)를 이론 및 BEM으로 해석한 내용을 다루었다. 2-D 덕트를 고려하였으며 경계가 길이방향의 사인함수로 변하는 주름관에서 주름의 크기가 덕트 높이에 비해 충분히 작은 경우 다중 스케일 섭동법 (Multiple Scaling Perturbation Method)을 이용하여 해를 구하였다. 주파수가 복소수가 되는 조건에서 Bragg 공진과 Non-Bragg 공진에서 발생하는 차단주파수밴드의 형성조건을 구하였다. 2-D BEM 해석을 수행하여 주름관의 삽입손실 (Insertion Loss)을 계산하였으며 이론적으로 예측한 차단주파수밴드의 존재를 확인하였다.

Wide band prototype feedhorn design for ASTE focal plane array

  • KASI and NAOJ are making collaborating efforts to implement faster mapping capability into the new 275-500 GHz Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment focal plane array (FPA). Feed horn antenna is one of critical parts of the FPA. Required fractional bandwidth is almost 60 % while that of traditional conical horn is less than 50 %. Therefore, to achieve this wideband performance, we adopted a horn of which the corrugation depths have a longitudinal profile. A profiled horn has features not only of wide bandwidth but also of shorter length compared to a linear-tapered corrugated horn, and lower cost fabrication with less error can be feasible. In our design process the flare region is represented by a cubic splined curve with several parameters. Parameters of the flare region and each dimension of the throat region are optimized by a differential evolution algorithm to keep >20 dB return loss and >30 dB maximum cross-polarization level over the operation bandwidth. To evaluate RF performance of the horn generated by the optimizer, we used a commercial mode matching software, WASP-NET. Also, Gaussian beam (GB) masks to far fields were applied to give better GB behavior over frequencies. The optimized design shows >23 dB return loss and >33 dB maximum cross-polarization level over the whole band. Gaussicity of the horn is over 96.6 %. The length of the horn is 12.5 mm which is just 57 % of the ALMA band 8 feed horn (21.96 mm).

주름진 판형 열교환기의 성능향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Heat Tranfer Enhancement of Heat Exchangers with Corrugated Wall)

  • The present study deals with CFD analysis of a plastic heat exchanger with corrugated wall. This exchanger has sinusoidal corrugations, and the flow through the exchanger is three dimensional. In addition, CFX-5.4, a commercial code utilizing unstructured mesh, was used as a computational method for solving RANS(Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes) equations, and the applied turbulence model is $k-{\varepsilon}$ model. The factors to affect the efficiency of a plastic heat exchanger are heat conductivity, flow characteristics and so on. For those two factors, heat conductivity is fixed by the wall material. Therefore, the How along the corrugation affects the efficiency more, provided the same material. In conclusion, the heat transfer enhancement of a plastic heat exchanger with corrugated wall can be recognized from the flow characteristics such as velocity streamline, local heat transfer coefficient, velocity contour, and pressure contour. To confirm the results, both of the measured and the computational data for pressure loss were compared with each other, and they were identical.

AF궤도회로에서 세라믹 코팅재에 의한 자계의 세기 변화에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Variation of Magnetic Field Intensity by Ceramics Coating Material in AF Track Circuits)

  • Automatic train control systems are divided into ATC, ATP and ATS systems etc. The ATP and ATS systems offer discontinuous information for train control. While the ATC systems provide continueous information for train control. There is a method for offering continuous information by AF track circuits. Magnetic fields are formed by current through rails in the AF track circuit systems. So, the continuous information is received by the magnetic fields on a on-board antenna. Coating materials on rails are researched to decrease defects such as head check, shelling, corrugation, squats and so on in Germany. Currently, a coating method of rail construction is proposed by using the ceramics in Korea. When deciding physical characteristic of ceramics, researches are required about variation of flux density by the ceramics. In case that the flux density is much lower than existing value, the information for train control is not transmitted to the on-board antenna. In this paper, inductance on rails is calculated and a model is presented about variation of the magnetic field intensity in the AF track circuit. Standard permeability of ceramics is proposed by analyzing the variation of magnetic field intensity. It is demonstrated by using Maxwell and Matlab program.
