The specific benefits of the modified films formed on preliminary anodized aluminum, including the versatility of their potential applications impose the need for evaluation of the exploitation reliability of these films. In this aspect, the durability of Cu and Ni modified anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) films on the low-doped AA1050 alloy was assessed through extended exposure to a 3.5% NaCl model corrosive medium. The electrochemical measurements by means of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic scanning (PDS) after 24 and 720 hours of exposure have revealed that the obtained films do not change their obvious barrier properties. In addition, supplemental analyses of the coatings were performed, in order to elucidate the impact of the AC-deposition of Cu and Ni inside the pores. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images have shown that the surface topology is not affected and resembles the typical surface of an etched metal. The subsequent energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) tests have revealed a predominance of Cu in the combined AAO-Cu/Ni layers, whereas additional X-ray photoelectron (XPS) analyses showed that both metals form oxides with different oxidation states due to alterations in the deposition conditions, promoted by the application of AC-polarization of the samples.
The hot corrosion behavior of plasma sprayed 4 mol% $Y_2O_3-ZrO_2$ (YSZ) thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) with volcanic ash is investigated. Volcanic ash that deposited on the TBCs in gas-turbine engines can attack the surface of TBCs itself as a form of corrosive melt. YSZ coating specimens with a thickness of 430-440 ${\mu}m$ are prepared using a plasma spray method. These specimens are subjected to hot corrosion environment at $1200^{\circ}C$ with five different duration time, from 10 mins to 100 h in the presence of corrosive melt from volcanic ash. The microstructure, composition, and phase analysis are performed using Field emission scanning electron microscopy, including Energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction. After the heat treatment, hematite ($Fe_2O_3-TiO_2$) and monoclinic YSZ phases are found in TBCs. Furthermore the interface area between the molten volcanic ash layers and YSZ coatings becomes porous with increases in the heat treatment time as the YSZ coatings dissolved into molten volcanic ash. The maximum thickness of this a porous reaction zone is 25 ${\mu}m$ after 100 h of heat treatment.

The MCFC has conspicuous features and high potential in being used as an energy converter of various fuels to electricity and heat. However, the MCFC which use strongly corrosive molten carbonate at 650[$^{\circ}C$] have many problem. Systematic investigation on corrosion behavior of Fe/20Cr/Ti alloys has been done in (62+38)㏖ % (Li+K)CO$_3$ melt at 923K by using steady state polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method.

Ti and Ti alloys are important materials for medical and dental applications. The effect of equal channel angular process(ECAP) and addition of Fe in Ti were studied with optical microstructure and corrosion behavior. Fine grains in Ti was obtained after ECAP. Corrosion behavior of commercial pure(CP)-Ti and Ti alloys was studied by open circuit test and polarization curve test(PCT) at $36.5^{\circ}C$ with SBF in biological environment. The corrosion behavior of ECAP-Ti was similar to that of CP-Ti in PCT, but Ti-Fe alloys were observed to become more corrosive with increasing Fe content.

Cavitation erosion-corrosion implies damage to materials due to the shock pressure or shock wave that results when bubbles form and collapse at a metal surface within a liquid. If the liquids corrosive to the material, a condition typically encountered in industry, the component materials may suffer serious damage by a combination of mechanical and electrochemical attack. To suppress cavitation erosion as well as cavitation erosion-corrosion to hydraulic equipments, innovations such as the improvement in the geometric design of the equipment or the selection of suitably resistant construction materials are necessary. This study was tested by using the piezoelectric vibrator with 20kHz, 24${\mu}$m for cavitation generation. And also, the vibratory cavitation erosion-corrosion tests on commercial mild steel SS41were carried out. We carefully observed the erosion pattern and surface photography. Recently all kinds of structural materials are subjected to the severe corrosive environment. Especially corrosion problems of heat exchanger such as galvanic corrosion, erosion and cavitation raised by both contaminated solution and high velocity of fluid to increase cooling effect of heat exchanger have been frequently reported in these days. In this study two kinds of sheet materials and five kinds of tube materials are used for galvanic corrosion characteristics and their corrosion current density calculation. The tube materials having the most galvanic corrosion resistance between tube and sheet of heat exchanger were Al Brass(68700) and Al Brass(C6872TS) and although Ti tube predominantly indicated the highest individual corrosion resistance among those five tube materials. it appeared that Ti tube can be allowed as sheet materials to get galvanic corrosion easily. However it is considered that Cu-Ni tube materials is not only easy to produce galvanic corrosion significantly between tube and sheet regardless of kinds of sheet materials but also is appeared considerably its own high corrosion current density
Chloride ion is one of the most important corrosive agents in atmospheric corrosion, especially in marine environments. It has high adsorption rate and increases the conductivity of electrolytes. Since chloride ions affect the protective properties and the surface composition of the corrosion product, they increase the corrosion rate. A low level of chloride ions leads to uniform corrosion, whereas a high level of chloride ions may induce localized corrosion. However, higher solution temperatures tend to increase the corrosion rate by enhancing the migration of oxygen in the solution. This work focused on the effect of NaCl concentration and temperature on galvanic corrosion between A516Gr.55 carbon steel and AA7075T6 aluminum alloys. When AA7075T6 aluminum alloy was galvanically coupled to A516Gr.55 carbon steel, AA7075T6 was severely corroded regardless of NaCl concentration and solution temperature, unlike the corrosion properties of single specimen. The combined effect of surface treatment involving carbon steel and aluminum alloy on corrosion behavior was also discussed.
The study was performed to study the effects of strain rate on acoustics emission( AE) during bulging test in corrosive environmentsynthetic sea water. The strain rates used were in the range $4 \times 10^{-6}S^{-1}$ to $1 \times 10^{-4} \times S^{-1}$ and the parameters used to evaluate AE signal characteristics were AE hit and amplitude. It can be observed that the cumulative AE hit and average amplitude during fracture process increase highly at decreasing strain rates while the equivalent fracture strain and the crack length of circumferencial direction become decrease. The peak point of AE signal characteristic parameters approach to the first half of test. When the average amplitude per unit equivalent fracture strain was above 20dB, it was definitly observed stress corrosion cracking phenomena. Additional, we knew that the AE test had the possibility to evaluate SCC susceptibility with various strain rates.

High strength 7xxx aluminum alloys have been applied to automotive bump back beam of the some limited model for light weight vehicle. The aluminum bump back beam is manufactured through extrusion, bending and welding. The residual stress given on these processes combines with the corrosive atmosphere on the road spreaded with corrosive chemicals to melt snow to occur the stress corrosion cracking. The composition of commercial 7xxx aluminum has Zn/Mg ratio about 3 and Cu over 2 wt% for better strength and stress corrosion cracking resistivity. But this composition isn't adequate for appling to the automotive bump back beam with high resistance to extrusion and bad weldability. In this study the composition of 7xxx aluminum alloy was modified to high Zn/Mg ratio and low Cu content for better extrusion and weldability. To estimate the resistivity against stress corrosion cracking of this aluminum alloy by slow strain rate test, the corrosion atmosphere and strain rate separate the stress corrosion cracking from conventional corrosion must be investigated. Using 0.6 Mol NaCl solution on slow strain rate test the stress corrosion cracking induced fracture was not observed. By adding 0.3% $H_2O_2$ and 0.6M $Na_2SO_4$ to 1M NaCl solution, the corrosion potential and current density of polarization curve moved to active potential and larger current density, and on the slow strain rate test the fracture energy in solution was lower than that in pre-exposure. These mean the stress corrosion cracking induced fracture can be estimated in this 1M NaCl + 0.3% $H_2O_2$ + 0.6M $Na_2SO_4$ solution. When the strain rate was below $2{\times}10^{-6}$, the stress corrosion cracking induced fracture start to be observed.

This study is mainly concerned with phenomenon of cavitation-erosion on the several materials and corrosive liquids which were applied with vibrator (suggested by ASTM G-32, 20KHZ, 24{$mu}m$).The main results obtained are summarized as follows ; (1) The maximum erosion rate by cavitation erosion in both of fresh-water and sea-water appeared to be proportioned to their hardness and tensile strength. (2) Cavitation weight loss and rate of cast iron in sea-water condition were greater (approximately 3 times) than that in distilled-water condition, however in case of stainless and brass the cavitation weight loss and their rates were not so different in both of their conditions. (3) Cavitation weight loss of composite materials were shown as below on this test, DuraTough DL : Weight loss in sea-water condition were greater (approximately 2.3 times) than it's fresh-water condition. (4) As the result of observation with digital camea of specimens, the main tendency of cavitation erosion for metals, was that small damaged holes causing by cavitation e개sion was appeared with radial pattern, and composites materials was that small damaged holes were appeared randomly.
