Perceptions of Corporate Social Responsibility and Implications for the Nonprofit Sector

  • While corporate social responsibility (CSR) has been considered an important philanthropic support for nonprofits worldwide, little is known about how perceptions of CSR are associated with actual CSR practices that may benefit nonprofit organizations in different institutional contexts. This study applies stakeholder theory to examine how South Korean firms perceive CSR outcomes, and how these perceptions lead to different CSR practices. We constructed a panel dataset using two waves of the Giving Korea survey of CSR and two additional sources. The results indicate that perceived CSR outcomes may play a critical role in CSR practices: 1) the more financial performance is perceived as an outcome, the more will be donated; 2) the more organizational culture is perceived as an outcome, the greater the engagement in employee volunteering; and 3) the more reputation is perceived as an outcome, the more nonprofit organizations are supported. From the findings, we discuss theoretical implications and provide suggestions for nonprofit organizations.

명품성의 결정요인에 관한 연구: 기업속성과 명품성을 중심으로 (A Study on the Determinants of Luxuriousness: With Focus on Corporate Attributes and Luxuriousness)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 소비자의 명품의 구매의도에 영향을 미치는 명품성의 결정요인에 대하여 기업속성과 인지 구조적 관계를 규명하는 것이다. 명품성은 소비자에게 핵심가치를 제공하는 기능적 혜택, 경험적 혜택, 상징적 혜택, 배타적 혜택을 유인하며 소비자의 심리적 만족에 영향을 미치는 요인이다. 기존의 연구들은 소비자가 지각하는 명품성에 기업의 특성이 미치는 영향에 대하여 충분히 설명하지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소비자가 지각하는 명품이 무엇이고, 명품성이 무엇인지를 마케팅관점에서 개념화하기 위하여 선행이론을 바탕으로 연구모형을 새롭게 제시하였다. 구체적으로는, 기업속성은 기업역량과 기업평판으로 구분하고, 명품성 요인은 우월성, 희소성, 차별성, 전통성으로 구분하여 기업속성과 명품성이 소비자의 구매의도에 미치는 영향 관계를 실증적으로 분석하고자, 총 282개의 표본을 대상으로 분석을 실시하였다. 조사대상제품은 명품 소비자를 대상으로 사전 조사된 B브랜드의 자동차로 하였다. 구조방정식 모형을 이용한 가설 검정결과, 기업속성과 명품성의 관계에서 기업속성 중 기업역량은 명품성의 차별성과 전통성에 유의한 영향을 미치며, 기업평판은 우월성과 희소성에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 명품성의 우월성, 희소성은 구매의도에 통계적으로 유의한 긍정적 영향을 미쳤으나, 명품성의 차별성과 전통성은 구매의도에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 제시된 명품과 명품성의 구조적 개념은 새로운 연구모형을 구축하는데 이론적 기반을 제공할 것이며, 명품성의 결정요인은 소비자의 심리적 내적동기 요인을 확인하는데 실무적으로 도움이 될 것이다.

The Effects of Corporate Social Responsibility on Job Performance: Moderating Effects of Authentic Leadership and Meaningfulness of Work

  • The study aims to investigate methods for companies to contribute to not only social and national developments, but also on the promotion of individuals and companies by re-examining the various phenomena that define companies. The study examines the relationship between subordinate factors of social responsibility activities and job performances as well as the role of CEOs in showing authentic leadership and meaningfulness of work. A total of 312 valid questionnaires were obtained, and hypotheses were tested using regression analysis, hierarchical regression analysis, and 3-way interactions. The results suggest that corporate social responsibility activities not only enhanced the performance of the members, but also confirmed the importance of the authentic leadership of the CEO. Additionally, the role of the members in the company also showed to play a very significant role in a company's developments. The results also show that the CEO and members need to make efforts to increase ethics as well as gain more competitiveness and improve their reputation by promoting their sense of calling and feeling of compassion in the workplace. In other words, the members of the high-ranking book and the members of the relatively low position will have different degrees of information transfer and evaluation of the company policy may be different.

  • Purpose - Overall social entrepreneurship has a positive effect on the organization's C.S.R. and overall growth. This study aims to identify the effects of social entrepreneurship in startup companies on corporate social responsibility by identifying gaps in the literature and providing feasible solutions to the gaps. Research design, Data, and methodology - The qualitative content analysis that was conducted by this research takes the form of two research designs. The first step to conducting a conceptual content analysis is to choose the level of analysis, specifically words, phrases, word sense and the second step is the relational content analysis by choosing the concept to be examined, only that the analysis entails examining the relationships between concepts Result - According to the investigation of numerous previous literature review, the current authors found out total six solutions and the application of suggested solutions indicated that the use of innovative models, startup organizations can gain a competitive edge against dominant competitors in their industry of operations, Conclusion - Finally, the conclusion of this research indicates through the use of innovative solution models, startup organizations can gain a competitive edge against dominant competitors in their industry of operations and startup companies may range from an increase in reputation to growth in profitability and entrepreneurs' satisfaction.

소비가치 이론에 의한 병원선택 요인 연구 (A Study of Hospital Choice on the Basis of Consumption Values Theory)

  • This research is based on the Consumption Values Theory proposed by Sheth(1991). The purpose of this research is finding the factors related to the process of hospital choice. The expectation of six hospital outpatients 600 was analyzed by six consumption values categories: functional value, social value, emotional value, rarity value, condition value, health related values. The main results of this research is as following; 1. In the result of factor analysis 22 consumption value factors which affect the hospital preference were extracted; kindness/clearness, service speed, comfort of space, technical competence in functional values, high income/active social life, low income/blue collar unmarried/man, middle aged/big family, woman/married, introvert in social values, high-class, comfort, reliability in emotional value, newness, classiness in rarity value, social relationship, close to residence, social reputation in conditional values, priority on health, health behavior, active sense of value on health in health related values. 2. The difference of consumption values among hospital types were analyzed. The critical factors in reference for corporate hospitals newly established were kindness/clearness, service speed, convenience, classiness, comfort, and newness. University hospitals were preferred by the factors of reliability, and social reputation. In general hospital, convenience and close to residence were critical factor. 3. In logistic regression, age, marital status, education level and income as socio-demographic variables were significantly related to general hospital choice. Also service speed and close to residence were positively and high income/active social life and high class value were negatively related to general hospital choice. On university hospital choice, age and marital status, education show posive relationship whereas income showing negative relationship. Kindness/clearness, service speed, comfort of space, unmarried/man, comfortable feeling, newness and close to residence showed negative relationship with university hospital selection whereas technical competence, reliability in emotional value, classiness in rarity value, social relationship in functional values showed positive relationship. Lastly kindness/clearness, comfort of space, high income/active social life, unmarried/man, high-class, comfort and newness were positively related to corporate hospitals newly established choice in contrast to negative relationship in reliability in emotional value and classiness. In summary, we found that hospital user also choose to hospital in base of various consumption value. Further studies to investigate the hospital consumer behavior will be needed.

기업의 윤리경영과 소비자 신뢰, 구매행동의 융합적 관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Convergence Relation of Corporate Ethical Management, Consumers' Perceived Trust, and Purchasing Behavior)

  • 본 연구는 기업의 윤리경영 활동과 마케팅 효과의 융합적 관계를 파악하고자 윤리경영 노력이 소비자에게 신뢰감을 형성하고, 그러한 신뢰감이 실제 구매행동으로 연결되는지 조사하였다. 가설수립 및 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 분석을 통해 제품 서비스 책임, 기업 윤리지침 마련, 사회공헌활동, 고객권리 보장으로 구성되는 윤리경영의 실천이 소비자 구매행동에 긍정적 영향을 미치며, 그 과정에서 소비자의 이미지 지각과 기업 신뢰가 매개적 역할을 하고 있음을 증명하였다. 이러한 결과는 윤리경영이 기업에게 사회적 압력과 비용으로만 작용하는 것이 아니라 기업의 이익 증가로 연결되는 선순환 과정에 있음을 보여주고 있고 있어 기업의 능동적이고 적극적인 윤리경영 실천이 필요함을 시사하고 있다. 향후 연구에 있어서는 윤리경영의 대상 범위와 실행 수준을 보다 세분화한 분석과 최근 대중의 관심도가 높은 윤리 이슈와 연계한 연구가 필요하다.

Relationships among CEO Image, Corporate Image and Employment Brand Value in Fashion Industry

  • The CEO and the Corporate Image is considered very important in the aspect of marketing. The fact that CEO image itself influences the company or value of the product directly and indirectly has been verified through many cases. Recently, the differentiation of products and services between companies became difficult because the disparity in technique between companies retrenched. As a result, the rate of people who decide to purchase or invest their money based on the corporate image or reputation has been increased. Also in the knowledge society like today, the talented employees are the company's customer and the company's necessity for managing those brains of marketing perspective on how to satisfy and attract the customers is being embossed. The Fashion industry is one of the most value-added industry and in those value-added businesses, the most important factor is the human resources' knowledge power. However the study of the relationships among the CEO image, the corporate image and employment brand value in fashion industry has not been carried out yet. This research considers that dynamic relationship exists among the CEO image, corporate image and employment brand value that affects a company's main goal of pursuing benefits and intends to investigate the relationships of the three concepts. The specific purposes of this study were, 1) to analyze the impact of CEO image on a corporate image, 2) to analyze the impact of corporate image on employment brand value, 3) to analyze the impact of CEO image on employment brand value, 4) to analyze whether corporate image plays a mediating role in the relationship between CEO image and employment brand value or not. A survey design with a structured questionnaire was employed for this research. A convenience sample of 398 subjects was selected from two groups, which are university students majoring in fashion and practitioners working in fashion industry. For the data analysis, descriptive statistic (i.e., frequency, percentage), factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis were used by utilizing SPSS 12.0 for Windows program. The results for this research are as follows, first, the study of the impact of CEO image (i.e., Managerial Competence, Reliability/Leadership, Personal Attractiveness) on corporate image (i.e., Product Image, Corporate Social Responsibility Image, Corporate Cultural Image) brought conclusion that the CEO image generally affected the corporate image in fashion industry. Managerial Competence and Reliability/Leadership affected Product Image, Corporate Social Responsibility Image and Corporate Cultural Image. However, while CEO's Personal Attractiveness affected Product Image and Corporate Social Responsibility Image, it did not affect Corporate Cultural Image. Second, the study of the impact of corporate image on employment brand value brought conclusion that corporate image (i.e., Product Image, Corporate Social Responsibility Image, Corporate Cultural Image) affected employment brand value. Corporate Cultural Image affected employment brand value the most and then the Corporate Social Responsibility Image and Product Image. Third, the study of the impact of CEO image on employment brand value brought conclusion that CEO image (i.e., Managerial Competence, Reliability/Leadership, Personal Attractiveness) affected the employment brand value. CEO's Reliability/Leadership affected the employment brand value the most and then CEO's Personal Attractiveness and CEO's Managerial Competence. Forth, the study examined whether corporate image plays a mediating role in relationship of CEO image and employment brand value and concluded that it does. Corporate image played a full mediating role between CEO's Managerial Competence and employment brand value while it played a partial mediating role between CEO's Reliability/Leadership and CEO's Personal Attractiveness. This study is meaningful in a sense that it examines the relationship among the CEO image, corporate image and employment brand value which has not been carried out yet in fashion industry. It will ultimately contribute to the success of a fashion company by providing useful information of establishing strategies for managing proper the CEO and the corporate image to the fashion company and operating the talented employees.

The Impact of Corporate Social Responsibilities on Consumer Loyalty in Indonesia : The Moderating Effect of CSR

  • This paper tried to examine the effect of the policy on companies' CSR activities and what kind of a role does CSR have in determining Customer Loyalty in Indonesia. This paper is divided into two parts, the first part is designed to find out whether the Indonesian government law has successfully made the companies perform better CSRs. We do this by using the ICGC Index of the companies registered and comparing their scores before and after the implementation of the policy. We will then use the paired sample t-test to find out if there is an increase in the overall scores of the companies and/or only the natural resource-related companies. The result showed an upward trend in the ICGC scores for all the companies which the Indonesian government law is intended to. In the second part, Manfred Schwaiger's components and parameters of corporate reputation was referred and used on Indonesian customers. We asked participants whether they think natural resource-related companies perform better CSRs and then we also tried to find out what factors really affect their loyalty towards companies or brands by conducting Multiple Regression Analysis. From the 4 factors that we have prepared, which consist of Performance, CSR, Quality and Attractiveness, Quality is the most influential towards determining our survey participants' Customer Loyalty. Surprisingly, CSR is insignificant in directly influencing Customer Loyalty. But, our research did find out that CSR does moderate Quality and Performance in their relationship with Customer Loyalty. Meaning that CSR has no effect in a direct relationship but it can increase the effect of Quality and Performance in determining Customer Loyalty. Unfortunately, CSR has no moderating effect in increasing the effect of Attractiveness towards Customer Loyalty.

  • 브랜드 경쟁 시대에 기업은 소비자의 브랜드 신뢰도 및 충성도를 높이기 위해 많은 노력을 하고 있다. 기업의 사회적 책임이 기업의 브랜드 신뢰도 및 충성도를 높이는데 큰 역할을 하고 있다. 한편, 현재의 Covid-19 유행은 기업의 디지털 전환 속도를 가속화 했으며 소비자가 기업의 온라인 평가에 더 많은 관심을 기울이게 만들었다. 본 연구는 중국 소비자 시장을 기반으로 기업의 사회적 책임, 인터넷 입소문(e-WOM), 브랜드 신뢰를 통해 브랜드 충성도에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지에 대해 연구하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 확인하기 위해 본 논문에서는 중국과 한국에 있는 중국인 소비자를 대상으로 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 총 469개의 유효 설문이 사용되었고 수집된 데이터는 SPSS21.0를 활용해 실증 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같이 요약된다. (1) 기업의 사회적 책임은 브랜드 신뢰에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. (2) 기업의 사회적 책임은 브랜드 충성도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. (3) 브랜드 신뢰는 브랜드 충성도에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. (4) 브랜드 신뢰와 인터넷 입소문은 기업의 사회적 책임과 브랜드 충성도의 사이에 긍정적인 매개효과가 나타낸다.

ESG 활동이 기업성과에 미치는 영향: 물류기업을 중심으로 (The Impact of ESG Activities on the Corporate Performance : Focused on Logistics Companies)

  • 본 연구는 ESG 활동이 국내 물류기업의 기업성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 ESG 활동을 도입하고 실행하는 데 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고, ESG 활동이 기업의 신뢰와 이미지를 향상시키는 정도를 파악하여 ESG 실행이 물류 기업의 기업 성과에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 실증적으로 분석하였다. 국내 물류기업 종사자를 대상으로 구글 설문지를 이용하여 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였고, 그중 총 463부의 데이터를 통해 Smart PLS 4.0 프로그램을 이용하여 PLS 구조방정식 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 외부압력인 정부압력은 환경적 책임활동, 투자자 압력은 사회적 책임활동과 거버넌스 책임활동에 유의미한 영향을 미친다. 내부압력인 경영자는 환경적 책임활동에, 임직원은 ESG책임활동 모두에 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 환경적 책임활동은 기업이미지에 영향을 미치며, 사회적 책임활동과 거버넌스 책임활동은 신뢰와 기업 이미지 모두에게 영향을 준다. 셋째, 신뢰와 기업이미지는 재무적 성과와 비재무적 성과 모두에게 유의미한 영향을 준다. 넷째, 사회적 책임활동과 거버넌스 책임활동이 비재무적 성과에 연결되는 경로에서 신뢰는 유의미한 매개효과를 가지며, ESG 책임활동이 재무적 성과와 비재무적 성과에 연결되는 경로에서 이미지는 모두에게 유의미한 매개효과를 가진다. 본 연구의 기여는 물류 기업들이 ESG 활동을 적극적으로 추진하여 환경, 사회, 거버넌스 측면에서 책임적인 기업 이미지를 구축하고 고객들의 신뢰를 얻을 수 있는 방법에 대해 제시하고 있다는 점이다. 이를 통해 물류 업계의 ESG 활동에 대한 인식을 높이고, 지속 가능한 경영을 위한 중요성을 인식할 수 있도록 도움을 주고자 한다.
