플라스틱 광섬유 광촉매 반응기에서 태양에너지를 이용한 TCE의 광촉매 분해 (Photocatalytic degradation of TCE using solar energy in POFR)

  • The photocatalytic degradation of TCE using solar energy in POFR was studied. The use of solar energy was investigated in plastic optica fiber photocatalytic reactor (POFR). In POFR, the main parameters of photocatalytic degradation of TCE were lihgt intensity, thickness of $TiO_2$-coated film on plastic fiber core, the same of total $TiO_2$-coated surface area with changed length. We studied the apparent photonic efficiency and photocatalytic degradation rate of TCE in POFR. The apparent photonic efficiency of various light intensities was decreased by an incresed intensities. The photocatalytic activities of $TiO_2$-coated optical fiber reactor system depended on the coating thickness, and total clad-stripped surface area of POF. Photocatalytic degradation of trichloroethylene ($C_2HCl_3$, TCE) in the gas-phase was elucidated by using $TiO_2$-coated plastic optical fiber reactor. In TCE degradation, in-situ FTIR measurement resulted in mineralization into $CO_2$.

열열화된 PVC 케이블의 부분방전 진단 (Partial Discharge Diagnosis of Thermal Degradated PVC Cable)

  • In this thesis, the partial discharge according to applied voltage and variations of cross-sectional area and length of the conductor related to general condition for using cable was measured in order to study degradation diagnosis for 2-Core cable of the PVC insulator used in industrial fields for other safety installations. Also the thermal degradation conditions under various installation circumstances of cables were studied by assuming degradation conditions with each different degradation rate (50%, 67%, 100%) such as variation in degradated temperature, thermal exposure time, normal state, partially degradated state and overall degradated state for thermal degradation diagnosis. The quantity of electric discharge (V-Q) according to applied voltage was measured for measurement of inception voltage and extinction voltage. The quantity of electric discharge and the number of electric discharge (Q-N) were measured with applied voltage kept constantly. In addition, pictures were taken using SEM (scanning electron microscope) to compare the surface of external insulator to degradated state of internal insulator according to thermal degradation temperature and also compare the surface of external insulator to degradated surface state of internal insulator according exposure time of cables to thermal stress.

부하반환법에 의한 20KVA 비정질 변압기의 경년열화 연구 (Aging Test of 20kVA Amorphous Core Transformer by Loading Back Method)

  • Aging test was done by loading back method for 20kVA amorphous core transformers manufactured by Hyosung Industries Co. and korea Electric Power Corporation. Iron losses, copper losses and insulation oil temperatures of the transfromers was measured for all the testing period. Expected life of amorphous core transformers on the basis of the degradation of the insulators was 46 years at 100% load, and 2.4 years at 130% load. Average temperature rising of transformer oil of amorphous core transformers was higher than that of silicon steel core transformers. Hence lowering the oil temperature by optimized design is needed for improving the expected life of the amorphous transformers.

Multi-material core as self-centering mechanism for buildings incorporating BRBs

  • Conventional buckling restrained braces used in concentrically braced frames are expected to yield in both tension and compression without major degradation of capacity under severe seismic ground motions. One of the weakness points of a standard buckling restrained braced frame is the low post-yield stiffness and thus large residual deformation under moderate to severe ground motions. This phenomenon can be attributed to low post-yield stiffness of core member in a BRB. This paper introduces a multi-core buckling restrained brace. The multi-core term arises from the use of more than one core component with different steel materials, including high-performance steel (HPS-70W) and stainless steel (304L) with high strain hardening properties. Nonlinear dynamic time history analyses were conducted on variety of diagonally braced frames with different heights, in order to compare the seismic performance of regular and multi-core buckling restrained braced frames. The results exhibited that the proposed multi-core buckling restrained braces reduce inter-story and especially residual drift demands in BRBFs. In addition, the results of seismic fragility analysis designated that the probability of exceedance of residual drifts in multi-core buckling restrained braced frames is significantly lower in comparison to standard BRBFs.

멕시코 만의 부유 및 침강고형물에 존재하는 조류색소 및 그 분해산물 (Algal Pigments and their Degradation Products in Suspended and Sinking Particulate Material in the Gulf of Mexico)

  • 멕시코 만에서 1987~1988년에 부유 및 칩강입자에 존재하는 광합성 색소 및 그 분해산물은 HPLC를 이용하여 측정하였다. 클로로필과 카로틴계열 및 그 분해산물의 단기 침하율이 Cold-Core Ring 과 Warm-Core Ring에서 비교 분석되었다. 클로로필 a는 CCR과 WCR에서 공통적으로 우세한 포르피린이었으며 카로틴계열 색소 중에는 19'-hwxanoyloxyfucoxanthin이 우세하였다. 초식자의 섭이과정에서 생성되는 것으로 알려진 phaeophobide a가 조사지역 침강입자에 우세하게 나타나는 분해색소 이었따. CCR에서의 전체색소 침하율은 WCR보다 한단게 높게 나타났다. WCR에서 색소현존량은 하루에 1% 이하가 유광밖으로 침하 되었는데 이 사실은 멕시코 만에서 부유고형입자의 재순환은 빠르게 일어나고 있지 않음을 의미한다.

샌드위치형 레이돔의 전기적 성능개선 위한 성형압력 영향성 연구 (A Study on Effects of the Cure Pressure for the Improvement of the Electrical Performance of the Sandwich Type Radome)

  • Purpose: This paper analyzes the phenomenon on the degradation of the electrical performance by the pressure in the manufacturing process of sandwich type radomes. Methods: This paper consists of two steps to analyze the relation between the electrical performance and the pressure. First, the thickness of the core of the flat panels which were fabricated with different pressure was measured with the microscope, and then the electrical performance of the flat panels was analyzed with simulation and experiment. Based on the results of the electrical performance and the measured thickness with respect to the flat panels, the relation between the electrical performance and the applied pressure in the manufacturing process was analyzed. Results: The simulated and measured results with respect to the flat panel shows that the high pressure results in the nonuniform thickness of the core, which is applied to the radome fabrication. As a result, the degradation of the electrical performance occurs because the unintended scattered field is generated as the electromagnetic wave transmits (or impinges upon) the radome. Furthermore, we observed that the electrical performance of both the flat panel and the radome got worse as the high pressure was applied. Conclusion: Through simulation and experiment, therefore, it is demonstrated that for the high pressure in the manufacturing process the nonuniform thickness of the core increases and results in the degradation of the electrical performance of the radome.

BSCCO 선재에서 극점도를 통한 초전도심의 깊이에 따른 집합조직 연구 (A Study of Texture Through the Depth of Core for BSCCO Superconductor Tape with Pole Figure Analysis)

  • We evaluated the degree of texture through depth of the superconductor core of Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O(BSCCO) superconductor tape. The degree of texture was characterized by pole figure analysis indicating that the degree of texture varied significantly with depth of the superconductor core. It was observed that the degree of texture was higher near the interface than inside the superconductor core. Specifically, as getting near to the center from the sheath/core interface, the orientation of BSCCO became dispersed from normal direction(ND) which, in turn, resulted in the degradation of <001>-fiber texture. In addition, the <001> texture was non-uniform an, better texture was developed along rolling direction(RD), compared to transverse direction(TD). Microstructural investigation showed that grain alignment was locally degraded by the existence of second phases. I was observed that larger grain size and better texturing were developed near the relatively straight interface compared to those inside the superconducting core. Based on our study, the region near the interface is thought to carry significant current compared to that inside the core.

80μW/MHz 0.68V Ultra Low-Power Variation-Tolerant Superscalar Dual-Core Application Processor

  • Upcoming ground-breaking applications for always-on tiny interconnected devices steadily demand two-fold features of processor cores: aggressively low power consumption and enhanced performance. We propose implementation of a novel superscalar low-power processor core with a low supply voltage. The core implements intra-core low-power microarchitecture with minimal performance degradation in instruction fetch, branch prediction, scheduling, and execution units. The inter-core lockstep not only detects malfunctions during low-voltage operation but also carries out software-based recovery. The chip incorporates a pair of cores, high-speed memory, and peripheral interfaces to be implemented with a 65nm node. The processor core consumes only 24mW at 350MHz and 0.68V, resulting in power efficiency of $80{\mu}W/MHz$. The operating frequency of the core reaches 850MHz at 1.2V.

C형 간염바이러스 코어 단백질에 의한 p53 활성화와 프로모터 과메틸화를 통한 E6AP 발현 억제 (Hepatitis C Virus Core Protein Activates p53 to Inhibit E6-associated Protein Expression via Promoter Hypermethylation)

  • E6AP (E6-associated protein)는 C형 간염바이러스(hepatitis C virus, HCV)의 코어 단백질 유비퀴틴화와 프로테오좀 분해를 유도하여 캡시드 조립을 저해함으로써 HCV 복제를 억제하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 반면에 HCV 코어 단백질은 숙주의 항바이러스 방어계에 대항하고 자신의 유비퀴틴-의존적 프로테아좀 분해를 막기 위하여 DNA 메틸화를 통하여 E6AP 발현을 저해하는 전략을 진화과정에서 획득하였다. 본 연구에서는 HCV 코어 단백질이 E6AP 발현을 저해하는 기전을 밝혀내고자 하였다. HCV 코어 단백질은 HepG2 세포에서 DNA 메틸화 효소들인 DNMT1, 3a 및 3b의 단백질 수준과 효소 활성을 증가시켜 프로모터 과메틸화를 통하여 E6AP 발현을 저해하였지만 p53를 발현하지 않는 Hep3B 세포에서는 이러한 효과들이 관찰되지 않았다. 흥미롭게도 Hep3B 세포에 p53만 과발현시키면 HCV 코어 단백질이 없더라도 DNMT가 활성화되고 프로모터 과메틸화를 통하여 E6AP 발현이 저해되었다. 또한 p53 녹다운 및 과발현 실험을 통하여 p53 활성화가 HCV 코어 단백질의 효과에 필수적임을 알 수 있었다. 이로 인하여 Hep3B 보다 HepG2 세포에서 낮은 수준의 유비퀴틴화된 HCV 코어 단백질이 검출되었다. 따라서 HCV 코어 단백질은 p53-의존적으로 자신의 유비퀴틴-매개성 프로테아좀 분해를 저해한다.
