The Issues of Digital Copying and Application of Fair Use in the Network Environment (네트워크 환경에서의 디지털복제와 공정사용 법리 적용의 문제점)

  • The digital copying and digital transmission are rapidily Increasing with the innovation of information technology and the development of networking technology. But It Is Inevitable to limit copyright for the public benefit and cultural development In the digital environment in like manner with the analog environment. First, this study examinated the international trends and legulations relating to the copyright limitations In the U.S. and Japan for the fair use. Second, it dealed with the problems of the digital copying relating to the temporary storage In RAM and screen display that are recently becoming international issues. Third, it concretely explored and analyzed the problems according to the application of the fall use of the private copying, the library copying, and the copying for the purpose of school education in the network environment. In conclusion, to solve these problems that Is occurred from legulations In the analog environment Is needed the revision of the existing copyright law in Korea. Finally, this study suggested 'the copyright collecive management system' and 'the private copying levy system' as the systemic devices to control the digital private copying.

  • The copyrights of music in Korea have been placed under the supervision of the associations which the government approved as a trusteeship. Since the industry of music in Korea has been changed from phonographic industry to on-line music service, it is required increasingly that the rights and interests of music should been protected. Korea government has been announced the amendment for levy of music royalties through on-line service according to the changes in the music industry and industries' demand. In this paper, the corporate structures in music industry has been investigated from the point of owner of copyright, recently at the heart of the debate, flat rate system and usage-based pricing in on-line music market has been compared. Consequently, the reasonable prices of music service through on-line market are not earmarked in reality for both consumers and copyright proprietors.   • Recently, the number of subscribers of the webtoons published by some major internet portal companies and others is increasing and their revenues are continually rising. Accordingly, a number of studies are being conducted for this phenomenon. For the uploaders off webtoons, their works are graded and added up for the promotion review but the criteria of such a promotion system usually fall short of readers' expectations. Although most of the subscribes of webtoons are drawn into subscription mainly by the recommendation of people around them, the responses from the new subscribers were often quite different from what the portal companies have anticipated, affecting the rank of the webtoon. Thus, a promotion management system which provides a reliable and clear method of assessment is proposed in this study including the revenue and copyright management scheme for the cartoonists.

  • In this study, the intellectual property rights of digital contents (creations) are protected by using block chain technology that cannot be damaged or forged. So, we build a blockchain-based content sales revenue tracking system and platform that activates the transaction and distribution of digital content (creation). We developed an API server that can be used for content registration and revision history management smart contract, license management smart contract according to content purchase, content inquiry function through files and hashes, and web and APP services. Through this, it is possible to prove the relationship between the rights of the creators of digital content creations and protect the rights of the creators.

  • DRM system is a technology that protects and manages copyright holder's privilege by using a copyright protection technology. This paper contributes to improvement of the secret key transmission and encryption/decryption processing time base on DRM system. In this paper, we will suggest that as follow: First, we will propose the algorithm to transmit the encryption key which use Multidimensional Method more safe than the existing One-path XOR method. Second, we will provide the high quality algorithm of security than the existing system because the Multidimensional which generated from the algorithm does not saved to the server side. Third, we will support the client decryption system which can decrypt the Multidimensional with OPT in decryption with client side. Fourth, we will adopt the more safr method of transmission with the compound of Multidimensional Method and OPT.

Price Prediction of Fractional Investment Products Using LSTM Algorithm: Focusing on Musicow (LSTM 모델을 이용한 조각투자 상품의 가격 예측: 뮤직카우를 중심으로)

  • Real estate and artworks were considered challenging investment targets for individual investors because of their relatively high average transaction price despite their long investment history. Recently, the so-called fractional investment, generally known as investing in a share of the ownership right for real-life assets, etc., and most investors perceive that they actually own a piece (fraction) of the ownership right through their investments, is gaining popularity. Founded in 2016, Musicow started the first service that allows users to invest in copyright fees related to music distribution. Using the LSTM algorithm, one of the deep learning algorithms, this research predict the price of right to participate in copyright fees traded in Musicow. In addition to variables related to claims such as transfer price, transaction volume of claims, and copyright fees, comprehensive indicators indicating the market conditions for music copyright fees participation, exchange rates reflecting economic conditions, KTB interest rates, and Korea Composite Stock Index were also used as variables. As a result, it was confirmed that the LSTM algorithm accurately predicts the transaction price even in the case of fractional investment which has a relatively low transaction volume.

Design and Implementation of Relay File for Superdistribution of the Streaming Contents (스트리밍 콘텐츠의 초유통을 위한 중계파일 설계 및 구현)

  • Illegal reproductions and subsequent copyright infringement have curtailed development of digital content industry. Many DRM systems have been developed and utilized for this purpose. However, current DRM system allow only authorized user to access the contents, and as such, redistribution to other user without getting license again entails cumbersome process. Currently, super-distribution system which can be used for redistribution of downloaded contents in more streamlined fashion is being widely conducted. But for streaming type content, it is still very difficult to redistribute with super-distribution system because the client must directly connect to streaming server to access the content. Accordingly, a new DRM streaming service structure is required to allow streamed contents to be redistributed as easily as the downloaded contents. In this paper, we proposed the relay file structure that can connect the streaming server and the user for super-distribution of the streaming contents.

  • Due to the advent of presumer and digital production of moving picture, a lot of UCC has been generated by editing the previous moving pictures in various way. It causes a lot of problems on copyright, duplication, and content. In reorganizing the contents, it is necessary to increase productivity and reusability by managing production pipeline systematically through the standardization of moving picture content. For this purpose, we try to develop the moving picture content management system that can manage all kinds of information on the production pipeline, based on SCORM of e-learning by considering production, publication and re-editing. Using the meta-data of content object, user and producer can easily search and reuse the contents. Hence, they can choose the contents object according to their preference and reproduce their own creative UCC by reorganizing and packaging the selected objects. The management of copyright by the unit of scene would solve the problem of copyright. The sequencing technique of SCORM as an interactive storytelling method makes it possible to produce individual contents by user's preference.

  • As the risk of technical leakage is increasing, technology protection support systems for small and medium-sized businesses have gained attention. This paper analyzed the perception gap of the user and policy-maker regarding technology protection support systems. First, to identify key elements of technology protection support systems and construct measurement factors, interviews with experts are conducted. Then, surveys are conducted to analyze the perception differences between the users and policy-makers. Factor analysis and ANOVA have been utilized to analyze survey results. The result shows that the perception gaps exist in the following areas: management system, cost reduction, copyright protection, customer satisfaction, leakage prevention, and awareness. To enhance the effectiveness of technology protection support systems, this paper suggests technology protection support systems should be customized in terms of the company's size and type of busines.

  • With the coming of information times, digital contents are widely applied in various fields of the society. Along with this, scholars provided many techniques and research approaches related to digital contents management and copyright protection. But till now, most proposed techniques and approaches are based on single system. The independency and separation among management systems causes the problems such as application across systems are limited, and resources sharing can't be available, etc. In this paper, for the application cross systems and contents sharing, we propose the cross-systems DRM approach based on unified metadata. This approach can be applied for the incorporation of multiple congeneric or heterogeneous CMSs, in the same time, solve the copyright problem cross digital content systems.
