The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the characteristics of seven major cooperative storage facilities for academic libraries in the U.S.A, Australia, and Scotland in order to provide a frame of reference for such a facility in Korea. Analyzed are unique characteristics of these storage facilities in relation to their physical facilities, uses and services for collections, participating organizations, ownership of resources, and integrated library management and access systems. Some objectives of operations and physical environments are shared by these storage facilities, and have some implications for the development of cooperative storage facilities in Korea.

Purpose - This study aims to examine whether key differences in characteristics of unions have significant implications for absenteeism. To uncover what characteristics of union made workers make decisions to be absent, this study used such key dimensions of unionism as democracy, cooperative strategy of a union, and d density rate. Research design and methodology - The research model of this study is that absenteeism has positive relations with union's democracy and density. But it has negative relations with union cooperative strategy. This study was conducted by survey method on 333local unionized business entities of metal industry in South Korea. Results - The result shows that significant and positive relationship between unions with high density rates, democracy and absenteeism which is in line with the argument of the previous studies. Different from the expectation, the hypotheses 2, it has been shown that there is positive relation between cooperative strategy of union and the decision of workers to be absent. Conclusions - Employers with unions with high density rates could not fully exercise disciplinary power against those workers absent at workplace since a strong union shields them effectively from punishments by employers.

The cooperative relation between construction engineering firms and design subcontractors is essential to establish design collaboration system. So, this study is initiated with providing a strategic cooperation scheme between construction engineering firms and design subcontractors. A number of literatures related to the design process for engineering firms were reviewed in order to investigate the design collaboration system. A questionnaire survey was peformed to collect and analyze the expert opinion on the current design collaboration system for engineering firms. It is expected that the cooperation scheme can be utilized to improve the cooperative relation between construction engineering firms and design subcontractors.

This study formulates a development strategy for Gwangyang port through the analysis of its competition with other major Northeast Asian ports. A revised BCG matrix is applied to estimate the change in competition between the major ports in Northeast Asia and the Lotka-Volterra model is used for the competitor analysis. The growing competitive power and influence of Chinese ports, continued competitive advantage of Busan port, diminishing competitiveness of Gwangyang and Incheon ports, and disappearing competitive position of Japanese ports in Northeast Asia are all confirmed. In addition, according to the relationship between Gwangyang port and other major Northeast Asian ports from 2007 to 2014, Gwangyang port has changed to a predatory from a win/win relation with Busan port and has maintained its predatory relationship with Hong Kong port in terms of transshipment cargoes. Moreover, Gwangyang port has formed predatory relationships with Shanghai and Ningbo ports, a pure competitive relation with Tianjin port, and a win/win relation with Qingdao and Dalian ports. Overall, predatory relationships between Gwangyang port and other Northeast Asia ports increased from 2007 to 2014. The counterstrategies for Gwangyang port to address this situation include establishing cooperative relations and continuing the win/win relationships with cooperative ports.

In this paper, the downlink resource allocation of OFDMA system with decode-and-forward (DF) relaying is investigated. A non-convex optimization problem maximizing system throughput with users' satisfaction constraints is formulated with joint relay selection, subcarrier assignment and power allocation. We first transform it to a standard convex problem and then solve it by dual decomposition. In particular, an Optimal resource allocation scheme With Time-sharing (OWT) is proposed with combination of relay selection, subcarrier allocation and power control. Due to its poor adaption to the fast-varying environment, an improved version with subcarrier Monopolization (OWM) is put forward, whose performance promotes about 20% compared with that of OWT in the fast-varying vehicular environment. In fact, OWM is the special case of OWT with binary time-sharing factor and OWT can be seen as the tight upper bound of the OWM. To the best of our knowledge, such algorithms and their relation have not been accurately investigated in cooperative OFDMA networks in the literature. Simulation results show that both the system throughput and the users' satisfaction of the proposed algorithms outperform the traditional ones.

The recent situation on developments in an expanding field of reference and information service is reviewed through the cooperative arrangements and comprehensive planning among libraries in America. The growth of reference cooperation is examined first along with the social forces that influenced the library interdependence for service. Of the various interlibrary programs identified in relation to the cooperative reference work, interlibrary loan is viewed as the key to the use of library resources based on equal access and making use of the tools for information and research, therefore a reference principle. Several kinds of library systems specifically intended to improve the reference situation are identified and described in detail without any attempt to evaluate their performance in terms of unit size, cost, or quality of the service.

The purpose of this research is to revealed the relationship between job satisfaction and turnover of forest workers. Data had obtained through a questionnaire, in which 155 forest workers at three national forestry cooperative federation training centers are questioned. The data had been analyzed using the factor analysis and multiple regression method. The results of the factor analysis were found 'Relation with the boss', 'Wage & safety', 'relation with co-workers', 'Job specifications', and 'Working hours'. As the result of the regression, turnover was affected by only 'Job specification', however turnover was not affected by 'Relation of the boss', 'Wage & safety', 'relation of co-workers', and 'Working hours'.

Examining the relation between market structure and the value of innovation is important for competition and STI policy. If the value is large in a specific industry structure, government may lead the industry to take that form to enhance innovation. Our simple calibration in the case of linear demand and constant MC results in the conclusion that the incentive for R&D in the case of major and minor innovation in Cournot competition is less than that of merger and cooperative R&D. This emphasizes again "necessary evil" as a monopoly for innovation.

The supply chain in plant construction project can be defined as a network combined between elements which is engineering, procurement, construction, start-up. For successfully leading construction project, close relation and mutual cooperation should be preceded and Supply Chain Management(SCM) system is needed to improve the relation. In particular, because safety is a top priority for the companies work in the construction of Nuclear Power Plant(NPP), it is necessary to control all parties realated with NPP construction systematically. In this situation, it is important to purchase high-quality equipment in timely manner by developing Integrated cooperative systems. Therefore, this study aimed to propose developing solutions of SCM such as JIT and Envelop Design system, which can reduces difficulties of decision making between the parties involved in the project and will increase the efficiency of the engineering process in NPP.

Despite its importance when it is employed in classrooms, scaffolding is limited in the classrooms. Many researchers have focused on contingent teaching, which is the first component of scaffolding. Given a lack of research on contingent teaching with prospective teachers (PSTs), this paper explores how PSTs intend to do contingent teaching in small groups when they engage in mathematics teaching. Building on research on contingent teaching, I analyzed 26 PSTs' written responses to scenarios in an online open-ended survey. The focus of the analysis was on how the PSTs would do contingent teaching that might support students to learn the subject matter. I present findings in relation to what the PSTs' responses showed in relation to contingent teaching with the subject matter. The findings will be discussed along with implications.
