The Bending minimization of Joint Shat in Cross rolling

  • Although cross rolling process has many advantages in forging a joint shaft, an automotive component of front axle unit, subsequent process is necessary to straighten its bending during forging process. In this paper the bending minimization of the joint shaft was studied to eliminate such an additional process. First of all, a characteristic diagram was used to find out factors affecting the bending of the shaft. Also design of experiments was utilized for estimating the influence of those factors. It was found that the phase angle, which is the difference in starting positions between upper and lower dies, was important to minimize the bending of joint shaft and die cooling is necessary to diminish the distribution of bending.

  • This paper experimentally describes the grinding characteristic of discontinuous grinding wheels in creep-feed grinding. In creep-feed grinding, grinding temperature increases rapidly and thermal damage such as a burn occurs on a workpiece. Discontinus grinding wheel with Conventional grinding wheel shows an exellent cooling effect has been developed. The wheels have 6, 12, 24 pieces of slotted which compare with characteristics of each wheels

제주계통의 기온변화 민감도를 반영한 주말 전력수요예측 (A Study on the Weekend Load Forecasting of Jeju System by using Temperature Changes Sensitivity)

  • The temperature changes are very important in improving the accuracy of the load forecasting during the summer. It is because the cooling load in summer contribute to the increasing of the load. This paper proposes a weekend load forecasting algorithm using the temperature change characteristic in a summer of Jeju. The days before and after weekends in Jeju, when the load curves are quite different from those of normal weekdays. The temperature change characteristic are obtained by using weekends peak load and high temperature data. And load forecasted based on the sensitivity between unit temperature changes and load variations. Load forecast data with better accuracy are obtained by using the proposed temperature changes than by using the ordinary daily peak load forecasting. The method can be used to reduce the error rate of load forecast.

  • In this paper, development and performance characteristic of propulsion system(Converter/Inverter) using IPM(Intelligent Power Module) for 120km/h AC electric vehicle is proposed. The proposed propulsion system is comprised of IPM converter and inverter stack which uses natural air-cooling system, DC-Link, OVCRf unit and control unit. And also 2-Parallel operation of two PWM converter is adopted for increasing capacity of system and the VVVF inverter control is used a mixed control algorithm, where the vector control strategy at low speed region and slip-frequency control strategy at high speed region. The proposed propulsion system is verified by main line test results as well as combined test results.

  • The heat treatment charaterristic of SCM 440 and B 16 steels has been investigated in various condition(A, B and C) to the effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties, and the following results were obtained. 1. We are obtained a good nitriding characteristic in bainitic structure than other heat treatment cycle in our experiment. 2. Fatigue characteristic has shown in order of B)C)A condition as heat treatment cycle. 3. The effective hardening depth and fatigue characteristic has been excellented in B 16 than SCM 440 after the nitriding and Q. T for Band C condition. 4. Nitriding depth has been increased in addition of Cr, V and the nitriding efficiency is increased as easiness of banite formation to wide range of cooling rate by addition of Mo. 5. The depth of compound layer in parallel surface, notched slop plane and notched bottom has been varied to the nitriding depth of 5, 4 and 3 ${\mu}$ in relatively uniform pattern after 10h nitriding treatment for SCM 440 into A condition.

고속응답 $CO_2$ 분석기의 제작 및 이를 이용한 SI 엔진에서의 실시간 배기가스 분석에 관한 연구 (Development of Fast-Response $CO_2$ Analyzer and Analysis of Engine-out Emission during Transient Condition of SI engine)

  • A fast response $CO_2$ analyzer has been developed for measuring the $CO_2$ concentration during transient condition of SI engine. The analyzer is based on the non-dispersive infrared absorption technique, electrical chopping system and water cooling system. The analyzer has good repeatability, linearity and permissible drift characteristic. Besides, it has 18ms with a response to measure the $CO_2$ concentration. The fast response $CO_2$ analyzer was applied to single cylinder SI engine and the $CO_2$ emission was examined during engine start. Simultaneously, the standard exhaust gas analyzer, which has slow response time, was used for considering the engine-out $CO_2$ characteristic. The developed analyzer showed much faster responsive characteristic than that of a standard analyzer and made cycle by cycle exhaust gas analysis possible. The transient engine operating characteristics will be estimated and the transient behaviors on engine-out emission and performance will be improved.

  • 보론강을 사용하는 열간성형은 경량화된 자동차 차체부품의 생산을 위해서 최근에 널리 사용되고 있으며, 열간성형 후 약 1,500 MPa 정도의 고강도 특성을 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 열간성형이 현가부품에 사용되기 위해서는 고강도 특성보다 피로특성이 더 중요해진다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 열간성형에 의해 제작된 자동차 현가부품의 일종인 튜블러 토션빔 액슬의 피로특성에 대하여 연구하였다. 냉각방식에 따른 보론강의 저주기 피로특성에 대하여 연구하였으며, 튜블러 토션빔 액슬의 피로수명을 예측하기 위해서 구조 및 피로해석이 수행되었다. 튜블러 토션빔 액슬의 토션빔 영역에서 응력집중이 발생하였으며, 열간성형에 의한 고강도화가 튜블러 토션빔 액슬의 수명향상에 큰 영향을 미쳤다.

LNG선박 열교환기 세관의 SCC에 미치는 용액의 온도의 영향 (The Effect of Temperature on SCC of Heat Exchanger Tube for LNG Vessel)

  • 선박용 열교환기의 냉각수로 사용되고 있는 해수의 입구온도는 스팀터빈콘덴서의 경우 약 $25^{\circ}C$이고 출구온도는 약 $60^{\circ}C$이며, 오일쿨러의 경우 출구온도는 약 $40^{\circ}C$이다. 이러한 해수의 온도 변화는 열교환기 세관재의 부식특성에 크게 영향을 미친다. 그러므로 부식손상을 최소화하면서 열교환 효율을 최대로 유지할 수 있는 냉각용액의 온도설정은 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 $3.5\%$ NaCl + $0.1\%\;NH_4OH$ 수용액의 유동하에서 선박용 열교환기 세관재로 사용되고 있는 Al-황동의 분극 및 응력부식균열 실험을 실시하여 분극특성, 응력부식균열거동 및 탈아연특성에 미치는 용액의 온도의 영향에 대하여 고찰하였다.

가속시험법을 활용한 자동차용 워터펌프 베어링의 수명특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Life Characteristic of an Automotive Water-pump Bearing Using the Accelerated Test Method)

  • A water-pump located in the cooling area of a car circulates cooling water. A particular bearing element, known as a water-pump bearing, installed in the rotating part carries the entire load. The failure of this water-pump bearing has a direct impact on the failure of the automobile engine, and so securing its reliability is crucial. Several researchers have examined the design principles of the water-pump bearing, but there are no reports on the life characteristic of the bearing yet. Herein, we report the construction of test equipment to reproduce the spalling of the roller contact, which is the main failure mode of the chosen water-pump bearing. We chose the radial load as an accelerated stress factor and validated the failure mode by monitoring the surface defects. We conducted the accelerated life test after determining the accelerated stress level through a combination of finite element analysis and a preliminary test. In the life tests, we used an accelerometer to perform failure diagnosis. In the last stage of this study, we present a statistical reliability analysis. Thus, we fully estimated the shape parameter of the water-pump bearing, accelerating level on the load , and the lifetime (MTTF and B10 life) under real use conditions, and finally proposed an interval estimation value considering the uncertainty of the estimated value.

곡물냉각기를 이용한 철제 원형빈에서 벼 냉각 (Field Cooling Tests of Paddy Stored in Steel Bins with a Grain Cooler)

  • 곡물냉각기를 이용하여 벼의 냉각특성을 구명하기 위하여 RPC의 원형빈에서 2회의 냉각실험을 실시하였다. 1차 냉각 실험은 하절기에 200 톤 규모의 원형빈에서, 2차 냉각실험은 수확기에 300 톤 규모의 원형빈에 저장된 벼를 대상으로 실시하였다. 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1차 냉각실험에서 초기곡온 23.6$^{\circ}C$, 함수율 19.3%인 벼180.3 톤을 14$^{\circ}C$까지 냉각시키는데 52.5시간이 소요되었으며, 냉각을 통해 함수율은 약 0.6% 감소하였다. 또한, 2차 냉각실험에서 초기곡온 16.1$^{\circ}C$, 함수율 19.2%인 벼 272.2 톤을 5.5$^{\circ}C$까지 냉각시키는데 78.0시간이 소요되었다. 1, 2차 냉각실험에서 냉각공기온도를 각각 8.0, 5.5$^{\circ}C$로 설정하였을 때, 곡물냉각기출구의 냉각공기온도는 각각 8.0$\pm$0.48$^{\circ}C$, 5.7$\pm$0.84$^{\circ}C$로서 정밀하게 제어되고 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 2차 냉각실험에서의 온도편차가 1차 냉각실험에서보다 높게 나타난 것은 냉각부하가 적었고, 외기조건이 급격하기 변화하여 압축기 무부하전자변, 재열기 및 증발기에 공급되는 고온고압 냉매가스량, 응축기 송풍기가 제어되었기 때문으로 판단되었다. 1차 냉각실험에서 곡물냉각기에서 냉각된 공기량은 평균77.5㎥/min인데 비해 곡물층을 통과한 냉각공기량은 42.5㎥/min에 불과해 약 45%의 냉각공기가 누설되어 이에 대한 방지책이 필요하였다. 냉각부하가 큰 하절기에 실시한 1차 냉각실험에서는 댐퍼만이 제어되었으며, 소요전력은 평균 22.1㎾를 나타낸 반면, 냉각부하가 적은 수확기에 실시한 2차 냉각실험에서는 압축기의 무부하전자변, 응축기 송풍기 등이 제어되었으며, 소요전력은 평균 17.4㎾로 나타나 하절기에 비하여 약 27%정도의 에너지가 절감된 것으로 나타났다.
