Hepatoprotective Effects of Allium monanthum MAX. Extract on Ethanol-Induced Liver Damage in Rat

  • This study investigated the effects of an ethanol extract of Allium monanthum MAX. (AME) on ethanol-induced hepatotoxicity in rat liver. Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 100~150 g, were divided into 5 groups; normal group (NOR), AME 200 mg/kg treated group (S1), ethanol (35%, 10 mL/kg) treated group (S2), AME 200 mg/kg and ethanol (35%, 10 mL/kg) treated group (S3) and AME 400 mg/kg and alcohol (35%, 10 mL/kg) treated group (S4). AME was fractionated by the following solvents: n-hexane, chloroform, EtOAC and n-BuOH. Antioxidant index of the n-BuOH fraction was 600 ppm, highest among fractions. The growth rate and feed efficiency ratio were decreased by ethanol, but gradually increased to the corresponding level of the normal group by administering AME. The serum ALT activities that were elevated by ethanol were significantly decreased by AME administration. It was also observed that the hepatic activities of SOD, catalase, xanthine oxidase and GSH-Px that were increased by ethanol were also markedly decreased in the AME treated group with compared to ETB. These results suggest that ethanol extracts of Allium monanthum MAX. may have a protective effect on ethanol-induced hepatotoxicity in rat liver.

지역의 탄소중립 전략을 위한 정주 및 생산공간에서의 탄소배출 특성 분석 -경상남도 지역을 대상으로- (Regional Carbon Emissions Analysis in Settlement and Production Space for Local Government Polices - Focused on Gyeongsangnam Province -)

  • Local governments play a critical role in achieving carbon neutrality and reducing national carbon emissions. To manage carbon emissions effectively, it is essential for local governments to analyze regional carbon emissions. In this study, we developed a model for estimating carbon emissions based on land use and analyzed regional characteristics of carbon emissions to suggest policies for achieving carbon neutrality at the regional level. Our model for calculating carbon emissions is based on an analysis of the activities that contribute to carbon emissions for each land use, and we established the spatial scope of carbon emission calculation. We applied this model to the cities and counties in Gyeongsangnam province, calculating carbon emissions from settlement and agricultural production activities and comparing regional characteristics of carbon emissions. Our analysis showed that areas with larger populations generally produced higher emissions in all categories, but we observed different results in terms of unit emissions, emissions divided by area, population, and household. Based on these findings, we propose policies such as increasing the generation of new and renewable energy using public institutions, promoting the conversion to cleaner cooking and heating energy sources, and encouraging the adoption of eco-friendly automobiles on roads. We believe that our analysis of the spatial and regional characteristics of carbon emissions can help local governments establish effective policies for reducing carbon emissions in their regions.

고구마 네 가지 품종의 조리방법에 따른 생리활성 변화 (Changes in the Physiological Activities of Four Sweet Potato Varieties by Cooking Condition)

  • 최근에 고구마는 영양성 뿐만 아니라 기능성을 함께 갖춘 건강기능식품으로 새롭게 관심 받고 있으나, 고구마의 기능성이 일반적으로 사용되는 찌기, 굽기 등의 조리방법에 의하여 어떻게 변화하는지에 대한 연구가 없다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 일반고구마인 연황미와 진홍미, 유색고구마인 주황미와 신자미 네 가지 품종에 대하여 항산화활성과 항암활성, 항균활성을 평가하고 찌기와 굽기에 의한 생리활성의 변화를 조사하였다. 총 폴리페놀 함량은 신자미 생 것이 73.6 mg/g으로 가장 높았고, 연황미 (3.8 mg/g)와 진홍미 (7.4 mg/g), 그리고 주황미 (7.9 mg/g)보다 높은 함량을 보였다. 조리유형별로는 신자미의 폴리페놀 함량이 생 것에서 가장 높았고, 그다음 찐 것 (41.0 mg/g)과 구운 것 (38.6 mg/g) 순으로 감소하여 굽기와 찌기 등의 조리에 의한 폴리페놀 함량의 감소를 보였다. 신자미는 DPPH 라디칼와 ABTS 양이온 소거능에서도 우수한 활성을 보였으며 신자미의 경우 라디칼 소거능이 찌기와 굽기에 의해서 감소하였으나, 이에 반해, 진홍미와 주황미는 찌기에 의해서 항산화능이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 다른 품종과는 달리, 신자미는 SOD 유사활성이 82.5%로 높은 항산화성을 보였으나, 찐 것의 경우 55.4%, 구운 것이 45.1%로 SOD 유사활성이 생 것에 비해 감소하였다. 고구마 에탄올 추출물을 유방암 세포인 MCF-7과 간암 세포인 HepG2에 처리하였을 때 세포의 성장을 저해하지 못하였고, 품종간에 또는 조리방법간에 유의적 차이를 보이지 않았다. 항균 활성도 측정에서 E. coli, St. aureus, S. typhimurium 3가지 미생물에 대해 연황미, 진홍미, 주황미는 항균활성을 보이지 않았으나, 신자미는 생육을 각각 44%, 35%, 55% 저해시켰으며 찌기와 굽기에 의해서 항균 활성이 11~24% 수준으로 감소하였다. 결론적으로, 주황색고구마인 주황미나 일반고구마 연황미, 진홍미에 비해서 진한 자색을 띄는 자색고구마 신자미는 항산화능과 항균능이 우수하였고, 이러한 신자미의 생리활성은 찌기에 의한 습열처리, 굽기에 의한 건열처리에 의해서 감소하였기에, 신자미의 생리활성을 유지하기 위해서는 생 것을 우유와 섞어 마시거나 샐러드로 활용하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 판단되었다.

동요를 활용한 통합적 인성교육활동이 유아의 정서지능과 공감능력에 미치는 영향 (The Impact of Integrated Character Education Activities Involving Children's Songs on Children's Emotional Intelligence and Empathic Ability)

  • 본 연구는 동요를 활용한 통합적 인성교육활동이 유아의 정서지능과 공감능력에 미치는 영향을 알아 보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 H지역에 소재한 J유치원 만 4세 유아 46명을 실험집단과 비교집단으로 나누어 연구하였다. 12주 동안 매주 2회씩 총 24회 활동을 진행하였다. 한 회기 마다 동요를 배우고, 부르는 활동을 시작으로 이야기 나누기, 음악활동, 과학활동, 조형활동, 동작활동, 문학활동, 요리활동 등의 통합적으로 구성된 인성교육 활동을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 동요를 활용한 통합적 인성교육 활동에 참여한 실험집단의 유아들과 인성교육활동에 참여하지 않은 비교집단의 유아들 간 정서지능이 유의미하게 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 동요를 활용한 통합적 인성교육 활동에 참여한 실험집단의 유아들과 인성교육활동에 참여하지 않은 비교집단의 유아들 간 공감능력이 유의미한 차이가 있었다. 본 연구의 결론은 앞으로 인성 교육활동을 위해 유아들이 생활 속에서 자연스럽게 부를 수 있는 동요에 대한 창작과 통합적 인성교육활동의 다양한 프로그램 개발이 지속되어야 할 것이다.

찹쌀 첨가와 취반방법에 따른 취반 밥의 품질 및 항산화특성 (Quality and Antioxidant Characteristics of Cooked Rice Influenced by the Mixing Rate of Glutinous Rice and Cooking Methods)

  • 찹쌀을 첨가한 밥의 식미와 기능성 함량을 높이고자 하여 첨가비율에 따른 취반방법을 달리하여 밥을 제조하고 그 취반특성과 항산화활성을 분석하였다. 찹쌀 첨가비율에 따른 호화특성은 첨가비율이 증가함에 따라 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 수분결합력과 팽윤력은 찹쌀 첨가비율이 증가함에 따라 유의적으로 감소하는 경향을 보였고 용해도는 유의적으로 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 취반밥에 대한 식감특성은 찹쌀 첨가비율에 따라 백미와 유사하거나 더 좋은 결과를 보였다. 찹쌀 첨가비율 취반방법에 따른 취반 밥의 총 폴리페놀 함량은 처리별로 유의적인 차이를 약간 보였으나 큰 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 총 플라보노이드 함량은 찹쌀 첨가비율이 증가할수록 전반적으로 증가하였으며, 찹쌀 20% 첨가구에서 발효주정을 첨가하여 취반한 경우가 일반밥솥에서 $23.20{\pm}0.61{\mu}g\;CE/g$ sample로 다른 처리구에 비해 높은 함량을 나타내었다. DPPH radical 소거활성은 찹쌀 첨가비율별 취반방법에 따른 활성은 3.19~5.45 mg TE/100 g sample로 나타났다. ABTS radical 소거활성은 찹쌀 20%, 발효주정을 첨가하여 취반한 경우가 압력밥솥에서 $19.48{\pm}0.63mg\;TE/100g$ sample로 높은 활성을 나타내었다. 찹쌀을 첨가하여 밥을 지을 경우 소량의 발효주정을 첨가하여 압력을 주어 취반하였을 때 높은 radical 소거활성을 보여 산업적으로 이용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the implementing level of housewife's manage-ment behavior related to reducing environmental pollution and the effects of three variable-groups on management behavior related to reducing environmental pollution. The research data were collected by structured questionnare and 544 cases were finnally selected. The data analysis was conducted by the method of frequency mean Pearson's correla-tion multiple regression. The major findings were as follows: 1) The implementing level of housewife's overall management behavior slightly high. 2) Wife's value(ecologicalism materialism expediency social-enviromental resources(degree of masscom contact degree of meeting with neighbors. refuse box) were significant predictors of the level of overall management behavior And Background variables(wife's aged and educa-tion level & job household income occupation of husband) had not significant effect on the level of overall management behavior. The most influential variable-group on the level of overall management behavior and buying cleaning & dishwashing cooking laundry activities was Wife's value. But the most influential variable-group on the implementing level of disposing trash was social-environmental resources.

상백피에서 추출한 단백질 분해효소의 특성 (Properties of the Proteolytic Enzymes from Mulberry Tree Barks(Morus alba Linne))

  • Water extract of mulberry tree barks(Morus alba Linne) was studied for its proteolytic activity. Protein content of the extract was 1.12mg/ml and its specific activity was 5.14U/ml. The enzyme was active on various proteins : the relative acitities were 100 for casein, 63 for albumin, 58 for collagen, 45 for hemoglobin and 36 gelatin, respectively. There suggested that the ability of the enzyme to hydrolyze meat was relatively high since those are major meat proteins. Optimum pH and temperature for proteolytic activity were : pH 6.0 and 6$0^{\circ}C$. And the enzyme was stable at the pH range of 6.0 to 7.0 and temperature between 50 and 8$0^{\circ}C$. Apparent proteolytic activities could support some scientific grounds of traditional application of mulberry tree barks to home cooking for meat tenderization.

건강가정지원센터 내 한부모가정 관련 사업 현황과 개선방향에 관한 연구 (A Study of Programs for Single-parent Families in a Family Support Centers)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the healthy family education, healthy family counseling, a healthy family culture, and healthy families integrated programs for single parent families in family support centers, The data collected came from 59 family support centers located in Seoul and Kyunggi-Do, Korea. Subjects included both single parents and their children. The children were of elementary school age. The types of programs were education, counseling, culture, and integrated program. Education programs were process separately for the parents and for the children. Counseling programs were mostly group-type program that aimed at improving the parent-children relationship. The contents included sections on anger management, reducing stress, enriching self-esteem. The culture programs involved experiences, camps that included cooking, watching movies, similar activities. Integrated programs involved respite support, rearing support, mentor-mentee partnerships, and the formation of self-help groups.

  • The purpose of this study was to diagnose the characteristics of current use of kitchen and scrutinize what to improve for the future kitchen development. To achieve the purpose, the small group wordshop panel was used. Two groups of 5 housewives per each were employed. For each group, there were a total of 3 consecutive meetings including 2 workshops and 1 field survey in each subject's house. The contents dealt with in the panel were as follows. First, actual condition and problems of using kitchen; second , possible solutions of the problems; third, needs for developing future kitchen. The major results were first, consumers require bigger kitchens to accomodate a variety of family activities ; second, kitchen needed to be more open encouraging family interaction and gave organic relationship to adjacent such as living room and utility room; third, due to korean cooking style, poor ventilation along with wet trash disposal was a serious problem. In addition to these. there revealed many problems which need to be improved and valuable ideas for the improvement.

Logical Activity Recognition Model for Smart Home Environment

  • Recently, studies that interact with human and things through motion recognition are increasing due to the expansion of IoT(Internet of Things). This paper proposed the system that recognizes the user's logical activity in home environment by attaching some sensors to various objects. We employ Arduino sensors and appreciate the logical activity by using the physical activitymodel that we processed in the previous researches. In this System, we can cognize the activities such as watching TV, listening music, talking, eating, cooking, sleeping and using computer. After we produce experimental data through setting virtual scenario, then the average result of recognition rate was 95% but depending on experiment sensor situation and physical activity errors the consequence could be changed. To provide the recognized results to user, we visualized diverse graphs.
