Objective: This study was conducted to assess increasing doses of phytase added to broiler diets formulated with different levels of available phosphorus (avP), calcium (Ca), and sodium (Na), and the respective effects on performance parameters, quantitative carcass characteristics, ash and phosphorus deposition in tibia and weight of organs. Methods: Three different matrices were assumed for phytase with the following nutritional values: matrix A (MT A): 0.165% Ca, 0.150% avP, and 0.035% Na; matrix B (MT B): 0.215% Ca, 0.195% avP, and 0.045% Na; matrix C (MT C): 0.245% Ca, 0.225% avP, and 0.053% Na. There were six different diets: No phytase (formulated to meet the nutritional requirements); phytase 500 FTU/kg+MT A; phytase 1,000 FTU/kg+MT A; phytase 1,500 FTU/kg+MT A; phytase 1,000 FTU/kg+MT B and phytase 1,500 FTU/kg+MT C. Results: There was no significant phytase influence on performance, quantitative carcass characteristics, ash and phosphorus deposition in tibia and weight of the organ throughout the study period, however, it was possible to observe a tendency of improvement in body weight corrected feed conversion for broilers fed the phytase 1,500+MT C diet, where potentially these birds were more efficient on utilize phytic phosphorus and other nutrients bounded to phytate molecule, translating into improvement in performance, and there was also a non significant numerical improvement in body weight corrected feed conversion of broilers fed this diet. Conclusion: Broilers fed with diets formulated with different levels of avP, Ca, and Na and increasing doses of phytase have shown no change on performance, quantitative carcass characteristics, ash and phosphorus deposition in tibia and weight of organs.
The kinetics of photoinitiated polymerization of reactive oligomer methacrylates and oligomer methacrylate/SBS blends have been studied to characterize the diffusion-controlled reaction using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy-Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR-FTIR). The polymerization rates of reactive oligomer methacrylates and oligomer methacrylate/SBS blends were autocatalytic in nature at the initial stage and then a retardation of the reaction conversion occurred gradually as the polymer matrix became vitrified, and finally the reaction became diffusion controlled. Photopolymerization behavior of methacrylate/SBS blends was well predicted using the diffusion-controlled reaction model. N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidinone (NVP) as a reactive solvent was used to incorporate SBS into methacrylate to form semi-IPN via photopolymerization. Due to the high reactivity of NVP, polymerization rate increased with the increase of NVP content. As the content of NVP-SBS in the blends increased up to 10 phr, the reaction conversion maintained almost constant. But above 20 phr of NVP-SBS in the blends, the reaction conversion gradually decreased since the increase of viscosity affected on the photopolymerization rate. The semi-IPN films of methacrylate/SBS blends were transparent at room temperature as well as at increased temperature and were able to be applied to surface coating.
Epoxy matrix based composites were fabricated by adding SiC nano fillers. The interfacial properties of composites were varied with different shapes of SiC nano fillers. To investigate the shape effects on the interfacial properties, beta and whisker type SiC nano fillers were used for this evaluation. The dispersion states of nano SiC-epoxy nanocomposites were evaluated by capacitance measurements. FE-SEM was used to observe the fracture surface of different structures of SiC-epoxy nanocomposites and to investigate for reinforcement effect. Interfacial properties between carbon fiber and SiC-epoxy nanocomposites were also evaluated by ILSS (interlaminar shear strength) and IFSS (interfacial shear strength) tests. The interfacial adhesion of beta type nanocomposites was better than whisker type.
Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.(family Nymphaeaceae) has been used for summer heat syndrome as home remedy in Japan, China and Korea. Although whole plant parts are edible, root is commonly consumed. It has been reported that rhizome extract showed anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory effects. However, in spite of usefulness for treatment of various diseases, the effect of Nelumbo nucifera rhizome(NNR) on proliferation, migration and matrix degrading enzymes-matrix metalloproteinsases(MMPs), the expression of which degrades extracellular matrix(ECM) leading to metastasis, has not been fully elucidated. We examined the effect of hot water extract of NNR on the proliferation, migration and secretion of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in rat smooth muscle cells(rSMC), epidermoid cancer cells(A431) and breast cancer cells(MDA-MB-231). The proliferation assay was carried out using MTT assay, the principle of which depends upon the conversion of MTT by mitochondrial dehydrogensases of viable cells to formazan crystals. The effect of NNR on migration of cells was examined using wound healing assay. Our results showed that there was inhibition in the proliferation, migration and expression of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in dose dependent fashion in all the cells used. Thus, we concluded that NNR could be used as traditional medicine in the treatment of various diseases where proliferation, migration and MMPs' expression plays a pathological role like in restenosis and metastasis.
Calli obtained from a shoot-tip of garlic, Allium sntivum L., were encapsulated using a calcium alginate gel. Some of the encapsulated calli were cultured on a 1/2 MS medium supplemented with 3% sucrose, 10$\^$-5/ kinetin, and 5 ${\times}$ 10$\^$-6/ M NAA whereas the remainder was stored for 40 days at 4$^{\circ}C$. All the naked calli regenerated on the solid medium, while 95% of the encapsulated calli regenerated, and 88% of the encapsulated calli regenerated after 40 days of storage at 4$^{\circ}C$. The capsule matrix delayed the germination time of the encapsulated calli, yet activated the shoot formation of the artificial garlic seeds. The shoot length of the encapsulated garlic calli was much longer than that of the naked garlic calli. The encapsulated garlic calli were dried in a laminar airflow cabinet and the conversion frequency of the dried artificial garlic seeds on a 1/2 MS medium remained at 93% with a water Loss of Less than 50%.
Today power system technology is being converged with communication system technology or information technology (IT). This conversion action affects on two parts vigorously so that IT has become very essential in power industry. But terminologies of two parts are confused and it is necessary that these are standardized to develop the industry mush more because the standardization is the first step of preparation to FTA environments.

This paper deals with development of a computer-aided process selection and sequencing technique and its software for metal cutting processes of rotational parts. The process selection procedure consists of selection for proper machining operations and machine tools suitable for the selected operations. Machining operations are selected based on machining surface features and machine tools are selected by employing a conversion table which converts machining operations into machine tools. The process sequence is determined by the proper manipulation of the precedence relation matrix. A computer program for the proposed technique is developed by using Turbo-Pascal on IBM PC/AT compatible system. The proposed technique works well to real problems.
The condition for immobilization of the partially purified agarase from Bacillus cereus ASK202 and the properties of the immobilized enzyme have been investigated. Agarase was immobilized on various supports by entrapment method. The enzyme immobilized on Na-alginate bead showed the highest activity among those studied. The optimal reaction conditions of the immobilized agarase were obtained in 3%(w/v) Na-alginate for the matrix, bead diameter of 2.5mm, 1 unit of agarase solution and 1.0%(w/v) calcium chloride solution. The optimum pH and temperature of the immobilized agarase were pH and temperature of the immobilized agarase were pH 7.0 and 4$0^{\circ}C$, respectively. Km and Vmax values were 0.5mg/ml.min, respectively. The immobilized agarase conerted agar to agarobiose, and their total conversion ratio under the optimal condition was 89%.

We develope a assistant system of foot pressure distribution for improvement gait Pattern, adapted working speed, and minimitation of muscle fatigue of the sensory feedback type FES system(SEFES). This measurement system consist of mat type pressure sensor with piezo electric films. The pressure data signal multiflexed input scanning method processed A/D conversion after two step amplify and integrate. Matrix sensor interface to PC for pseudo color display by level of Pressure distribution data. This measurement system clinically evaluated in hemiplegic patients. It has produced acceptable results with optimal location of the food sensor's pressure point and avoid the muscle fatigue.
The formation, microstructure and properties of novel ceramic composite materials manufactured by active-filler-controlled polymer pyrolysis were investigated. In the presence of active filler particles such as transition metals, bulk components of various geometry could be fabricated from siliconorganic polymer. Molybdenum- and tungsten-filled polymer suspensions were prepared and their conversion to ceramic composites by annealing in $CH_4$ atmosphere were studied. Dimensional change. porosity and phase distribution (filler network) were analyzed and correlated to the resulting hardness values. Molybdenum and tungsten as active filler were carburized completely to $Mo_2C$, $W_2C$ and WC in $CH_4$ atmosphere. Consequently, microcrystalline composites with the filler reaction products embedded in a silicon oxycarbide glass matrix were formed. Hardness was increased with increasing carburization and reached 8.6-9.5 GPa in the specimen pyrolyzed in $CH_4$ atmosphere.
