기존선 속도향상을 위한 UIC CODE 속도규정의 기술적 검토 (Technical Overview of UIC CODE on Speed for Speed Improvement of Conventional Korean Lines)

  • In order to improve the speed of conventional Korean lines, the amendment of speed related regulations is required as the introduction of Korean tilting train. Therefore, an extensive review of UIC leaflets on speed was performed in the areas of tilting train, rolling stocks, operation, civil infrastructures, etc. The review was mainly achieved through the overview of parameters directly related with speed of railway. Moreover, a summary of UIC leaflets on speed and tilting train was provided for a better understanding of speed related UIC CODE. Through the technical overview of UIC CODE, necessary information on the amendment of current Korean speed regulations could be provided.

  • Vehicle dynamic behavior should be investigated to establish the track irregularity criteria because they have an impact on vehicle dynamic behavior. The tilting train which have been developed in Korea will be operated on the conventional line. Therefore, it should be checked that the track irregularity criteria of conventional line is still available for the new vehicle. In this paper, the influence of vertical alignment on running behavior and safety for tilting train was instigated by numerical analysis. The wavelength and amplitude of vertical alignment were considered in scenario of this numerical analysis. This research is based on just numerical analysis and the final result which include measurement will be published in the future.

도시 철도 차량의 자동주행을 위한 LQ-서보 제어기의 설계 (LQ-Servo Design for Automatic Train Control of Urban Rail Vehicle)

  • In this paper, we propose the LQ servo control method for the automatic train control of urban rail vehicle. Structures of the conventional PID control and LQ servo controller are compared in order to demonstrate the simplicity of the proposed controller which doesn't have zeros of the closed loop systems. The energy consumption is dealt with as an object function to be minimized, which consists of the quadratic performance indices for optimal control with the input of the feedback linearization. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by the practical example, compared with the conventional PD controller.

  • As a drive system for next generation train, we have been making research and development of a direct drive traction motor system without the conventional reduction gear. This traction motor is expected to have many advantages such as low noise, reduced maintenance, and energy saving. Due to the demand for high-output motors in the limited space between the wheels, open-ventilating traction motors with gear box have been widely used for many years. However, a conventional open-ventilating traction motor is necessary periodical disassembly to remove the accumulated dust from open-air ventilation. Reducing this burden, as well as increasing energy efficiency and reducing noise, would benefit the next generation of traction motors. To address these needs, KRRI have been developing a fully enclosed type direct drive motor(DDM) with high-efficiency permanent magnet for the next generation train.

틸팅차량의 기존선 곡선부 주행안정성 평가 (Evaluation of Running Stability of Tilting Trains in Conventional Curved Track)

  • The investigation of running stability of the train for curved track is necessary in view of preventing the train from derailment caused by unbalanced forces transferred from the wheel and guaranteeing moderate level of running safety in curve sections. This paper carried out an analysis of running stability of tilting trains in conventional line which the test operation of tilting trains under development are scheduled. For this purpose, the wheel load and lateral pressure to the rail are evaluated. The criteria for the calculated wheel load and derailment coefficient are compared to the design criteria for running stability. It is founded that the running stability of tilting trains for curved track is guaranteed to have sufficient safety and the train speed in curve is governed by the geometric layout of track rather than the criteria for running stability.

  • Induction Motor is important at tilting train. Tiling train induction motor should be operated to commercial servicespeed 180km/h at Korea Conventional Line upgrade railroad. As the induction motors are without commutators, maintenance is easy and it is far lighter than the conventional motors with the same capacity. The induction motor, however, posed problems in use as its motor torque is not large enough compared with DC motors. With the recent advances in power semiconductors, it is possible to apply the induction motors to trains by applying VVVF inverter control method to the traction motor. In this study, we realize the stable measurement AC motor temperature characteristic of TTX train.

적외선 시스템을 이용한 지상차상통신 (Trackside to Train Communication Using Infrared System)

  • 열차에서 지상차상통신은 데이터를 전송하기 위해 트랜스폰더 또는 발리스 (balise) 와 같은 무선장비를 일반적으로 사용하고 있다. 그러나, 이러한 종래의 방식에는 다중경로 페이딩, 대역폭소스 제한, 다른 사용자들로부터의 간섭 등 과같은 단점들이 있다. 게다가 이러한 장비가 많이 설치될 경우에는 비용이 많이 든다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 적외선 통신 시스템을 제안하고자 한다. 적외선 시스템을 사용하여 열차의 위치 같은 데이타를 열차로 전송 할 수 있다. 적외선 통신 프로토콜은 direct dedication configuration에 실용적인 무선 데이터 통신을 제공할 수 있다. 뿐만 아니라, pole configuration경우에 적외선 시스템은 풍부한 대역폭 그리고 경제적 장비설치비용, 폭우 때 장비이용의 신뢰성까지 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 통신기능과 실행평가측정 (measurement performance evaluation)에 대한 분석을 다루었다. 제안된 지상차상통신 시스템에는 적외선 수신기 및 적외선 송신기 사이를 약 6미터 까지 전송가능하며, 송신기의 반각은 19.65도로, 수신각은 15도로 설정되었다.

지하철 운전시격 단축을 위한 이동폐색 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of the Flexible Moving Blocks System to Shorten Headway of Subway Trains)

  • This paper proposes a simulation method of train control system to increase railroad transportation capacity in the Seoul Subway. Comparing with the conventional fixed block system, a new train operation method of "moving block system" shows a more capability of same railroad. A graphic simulation program is developed for application of moving block system to Seoul subway train control system. The result of the simulation program shows a shorten headway i.e. a more dense operation of trains and a higher efficiency of railroad with the suggested moving block system.

  • Recently, the microprocessor with network function based control system instead of conventional microprocessor is widely used for industrial applications, and also these technologies are widely adopted for train control and monitoring in modem rapid transit system. The purpose of this paper is to propose a criteria for data transmission, which was designed and realized through Korea High Speed Train. Noise, distortion and attenuation are always present in data transmission system and strictly limit performance. This paper describes a method to calculate the propagation constant, attenuation constant, phase velocity and length of stub.

경부선 틸팅열차의 가능 운전시간 추정 연구 (A Study on the Possible Running Time Estimation of Tilting Train on the Gyeongbu line)

  • A rising attention is paid to the railway system in many countries. KOREA is also of the opinion that the railway has to play a more important role in the near future to face up to the problems that increase gradually in the transport sector. To attract more traffic to the rail networks, it is important for rail modes to have running time competitiveness. Tilting trains, where it is possible to tilt the car-body towards the center of the curve, are a less expensive alternative to shorten travelling times on existing lines. Running time for tilting train is one of the most important factors, with which passenger demand forecasting or economic feasibility analysis will be done. This paper evaluates the speed limitation of tilting train around curves and also presents calculation process of its simulated possible running time. Then the adequacy of estimated time is verified with running time for Korean protype tilting train TTX (Tilting Train eXpress) by actual test run. As a case study, the estimated running time for the production version of tilting train and its time saving are presented compared with 2012's conventional Saemaul trains and non-tilting trains on the Gyeongbu line in the Korean rail network.
