Stability Analysis and Effect of CES on ANN Based AGC for Frequency Excursion

  • This paper presents an application of layered Artificial Neural Network controller to study load frequency control problem in power system. The objective of control scheme guarantees that steady state error of frequencies and inadvertent interchange of tie-lines are maintained in a given tolerance limitation. The proposed controller has been designed for a two-area interconnected power system. Only one artificial neural network controller (ANN), which controls the inputs of each area in the power system together, is considered. In this study, back propagation-through time algorithm is used as neural network learning rule. The performance of the power system is simulated by using conventional integral controller and ANN controller, separately. For the first time comparative study has been carried out between SMES and CES unit, all of the areas are included with SMES and CES unit separately. By comparing the results for both cases, the performance of ANN controller with CES unit is found to be better than conventional controllers with SMES, CES and ANN with SMES.

  • 최근 차량용 네트워크 시스템으로 사용되고 있는 CAN(Controller Area Network)은 많은 ECU들이 필요한 미래형 스마트차량에 적합한 네트워크 프로토콜로서 안정성과 신뢰성을 보장해주며, 많은 ECU들의 장착으로 Wiring Harness의 공간과 중량이 늘어남으로 인해 발생되는 에너지 소비와 비용의 증가를 대폭 줄일 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 논문에서는 CAN프로토콜을 이용하여 미래형 스마트 자동차에 요구되는 편의주행, 쾌적주행을 위해 Air conditioner 와 Heater를 제어하여 차량 내부 온도를 운전자의 요구에 맞도록 자동으로 제어할 수 있는 시스템을 구현하고자 한다.

  • This paper presents the worst-case time-delay in CAN(Controller Area Network) system through the mathematical model. Time-delay in the CAN system is devided into a generation delay, a transmission delay and a delivery delay. This paper also measures the performance represented in terms of the number of station, transmission speed, data size etc. by using the computer simulation.

  • 차량 내 다양한 전자 장치를 제어하기 위해 실시간 직렬 통신 프로토콜인 CAN(controller area network)이 개발되었다. 본 논문에서는 Verilog HDL을 이용하여 CAN 버전 2.0A, 2.0B를 만족하는 CAN 제어기를 설계하였다. 설계된 CAN 제어기는 FPGA로 구현하여 상용 칩과 연결하여 동작을 확인하였다. 0.18um 공정에서 합성하였을 때의 게이트 수는 약 7,800 게이트이다.

  • 본 논문에서는 데이터 전송시 에러 검출빈도가 작아 신뢰성이 매우 높은 CAN 프로토콜을 이용하여 자동차 사이드 미러에 대한 멀티플렉싱 시스템을 구현하였다. 사인드 미러를 제어하기 위한 미러부 Slave Controller, 사용자의 C 상하좌우 및 기준위치 저장/로드입력을 처리하기 위한 입력부 상 Slave Controller, 그리고 이들 두 Slave Controller를 제어하는 Master CAN Controller로 시스템을 구성하고, 각각의 장치들을 중앙의 CAN 버스를 이용하여 데이터를 전송함으로써 이들을 제어할 수 있는 시스템을 구현하였다.

  • A feedback control implementation for a high speed train pressurization system is proposed based on CAN (Controller Area Network). Firstly, system model including network latencies by CAN arbitration mechanisms is proposed, and an analytical compensation method of control parameters based on the system model is proposed for the network latencies. For the practical implementation of the control, global synchronization is adopted for controller to measure network latencies and to utilize them for the compensation of the control parameters. Simulation results are shown with practical tunnel data response. The proposed method is evaluated to be the most effective for the system through the control performances comparing among a controller not considering network latencies, other two off-line compensation methods, and the proposed method.

  • A number of automotive electronics-safety, driver assistance, and infotainment devices-have been deployed in recent vehicles. This raises new challenges regarding in-vehicular network arbitration. A performance analysis of non-destructive arbitration has revealed a fairness issue. The arbitration prioritizes without collisions, despite multiple simultaneous transmissions; however, the performances of the highest priority node and the lowest priority node are very different. In this paper, an ID-rotation arbitration method to solve the arbitration-fairness problem is proposed. The proposed algorithm was applied to several engine control units (ECUs), including a controller area network (CAN) controller. Experimental results showed that the algorithm improved the fairness as well as the total throughput within a specific performance constraint.

CAN을 이용한 발전계통의 제어 및 모니터링 기법 연구 (A Study on the Power System Control and Monitoring Technique Using CAN)

  • In this paper, we present a new control and monitoring technique for a power system using CAN(Controller Area Network). Feedback control systems having co'ntrol loops closed through a network(i.e. Ethernet, ControlNet, CAN) are called NCSs(Networked Control Systems). The major problem of NCSs is the variation of stability property according to time delay including network-induced delay and computation delay in nodes. We present a new stability analysis method of NCSs with time delay exploiting a state-space model of LTI(Linear Time Invariant) interconnected systems. The proposed method can determine a proper sampling period of NCSs that preserves stability performance even in NCSs with a dynamic controller. We design CAN nodes which can transmit control and monitoring data through CAN bus and apply these to NCSs for a power system. The results of the experiment validate effectiveness of our control and monitoring technique for a power system.

Study on UxNB Network Deployment Method toward Mobile IAB

  • 본 논문은 모바일 IAB를 향한 UxNB 네트워크 배포 및 운영 방안을 제안한다. SDN(Software Defined Network) 기반으로 UxNB 네트워크를 운영하여, 이동 통신 서비스를 원하는 지역에 UxNB를 배포한다. 서비스 지역에 UxNB를 배포한 후, IAB를 설정하여 이동 통신 서비스를 수행할 수 있다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 먼저 UAV 컨트롤러(UAV controller)와 SDN 컨트롤러(SDN controller)로 구성되는 UxNB 네트워크 컨트롤러(UxNB NC; UxNB network controller)를 제안하고 필요한 기능들을 기술한다. 다음으로 UxNB 네트워크를 배포하고 운영할 수 있는 시나리오를 단계별로 상세하게 제시한다. 또한 UxNB 네트워크 컨트롤러의 위치, UxNB에 대한 UAV 컨트롤러 제어 명령 전달 방법, UxNB 네트워크를 위한 IAB 적용 방법, UxNB 네트워크의 최적화, UxNB 네트워크의 RLF(radio link failure) 복구 및 UxNB 네트워크의 보안(security)에 대한 향후 연구를 논한다. 제안한 UxNB NC 아키텍처와 UxNB 네트워크 배포 및 운영 방안을 이용하여 모바일 IAB에 UxNB 네트워크를 원활하게 통합할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

  • A motion controller has been used variously in industry such as semiconductor manufacture equipment, industrial robot, assembly/conveyor line applications and CNC equipment. There are several types of controller in motion control. One of these is a PC-based motion controller such as PCI or ISA, and another is stand-alone motion controller. The PC bus-based motion controller is popular because of improving bus architectures and GUI (Graphic User Interface) that offer convenience of use to user. There are some problems in this. The PC bus-based solution allows for only one of the form factors, so it has a poor flexibility. The overall system package size is bigger than other motion control system. And also, additional axes of control require additional slot, however the number of slots is limited. Furthermore, unwieldy and many wirings come to connect plants or I/O. The stand-alone motion controller has also this limit of axes of control and wiring problems. To resolve these problems, controller must have capability of operating as stand-alone devices that resides outside the computer and it needs network capability to communicate to each motion device. In this paper, a network-based stand-alone motion system is proposed. This system integrates PC and motion controller into one stand-alone motion system, and uses CAN (Controller Area Network) as network protocol. Single board computer that is type of 3.5" FDD form factor is used to reduce the system size and cost. It works with Windows XP Embedded as operating system. This motion system operates by itself or serves as master motion controller that communicates to slave motion controller. The Slave motion controllers can easily connect to master motion system through CAN-network.
