This study aims at establishing an digital signal processing technique to control 3-D sound localization, especially focusing our eyes on the role of information provided by Head-Related Transfer Function(HRTF). In order to clarify the cues to control the auditory distance perception, two conventional models named Hirsch-Tahara model and auditory parallax model were examined. As a result, it was shown that both models have limitations to universally explain the auditory distance perception. Hence, the auditory parallax model was extended so as to apply in broader cases of auditory distance perception. The results of the experiment by simulating HRTFs based on the extented parallax model showed that the cues provided by the new model were almost sufficient to control the perception of auditory distance from an actual sound source located within about 2 m.
The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of the urban stream investigation on elementary school students' environmental conservation awareness. The urban stream investigation was applied to the experimental group and the control group has been taught by the traditional teaching method focused on the teacher's lecture. To analyze the effect of urban stream investigation, the pre- and post-tests on environmental conservation awareness composed of interest in living things, perception about water pollution and environmental conservation were applied to the both groups. The results were analyzed by One-way ANOVA and ANCOVA. As a result, there were not significant difference between the experimental and the control group in the pretest(p>.05). In the post-tests on the student's interest in living things, perception about water pollution and environmental conservation the scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group(p<0.05). Therefore, the urban stream investigation made a positive effect on improving of elementary school students' environmental conservation awareness.
This study was conducted to provide information about weight control behavior in adolescent females. To explain the behavior intention of dieting, conceptual framework based on "Social Support, Control and the Stress Process Model" and "Theory of Reasoned Action" was used. The survey was carried out by self-questionnaires with 463 female high school and college students in Daegu. Analysis of data was done using mean, correlation and multiple regression analysis with the SAS computer program. A society preoccupied with thinness gives a burden to women, and this burden may stress dissatisfaction with body image. Social perception of ideal body image except parents' perception, and salient others'perception, and salient others' expectation of subjects' body image except parents' expectation, were much thinner than normal figures in this study. The influencing factors for behavior intention of dieting of the subjects were perceived stress and attitude toward diet behavior, especially beliefs of behavioral outcome. Influencing factors related to perceived stress-that is dissatisfaction of body image-were current figure, social perception of body image, effect of mass communication and others' estimation of subjects' body image with self-comparison with others, in order.th others, in order.
Purpose The purpose of this study is to empirically identify the risky behavior of mobile device users using the Internet of Things on a situational perspective. Design/methodology/approach This study made a design of the research model based on model of the determinants of risk behavior. Data were collected through a survey including hypothetical scenario. SmartPLS 2.0 was used for the structural model analysis and t-test was conducted to compare the between normal and situational behavior. Findings The results were as follows. First, the central roles of risk propriety and risk perception were verified empirically. Second, we identified the role of locus of control as a new factor of impact on risky behavior. Third, mobile risk propensity has been shown to increase risk perception. Fouth, it has been shown that risk perception does not directly affect risky behavior and reduce the relationship between mobile risk propensity and risk behavior. According to the empirical analysis result, Determinants of risk behavior for mobile users were identified based on a theoretical framework. And it raised the need to pay attention to the impact of locus of control on risk behavior in the IS security field. It provided direction to the approach to risky behavior of mobile device users. In addition, this study confirmed that there was a possibility of taking risky behavior in the actual decision-making.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perception of elder abuse, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control and to examine what factors influence attitudes toward elder abuse. The subjects were 404 nursing students at D and S universities in G province. The data were collected from November 20th, 2017 to January 26th, 2017. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise regression using the SPSS / WIN 22.0. The results show that perception of elder abuse had a score of 3.60, subjective norms had a score of 2.69, and perceived behavior control and attitude had scores of 2.62 and 2.97. Perception of elder abuse, subjective norms, and behavioral control and attitudes showed significant positive correlations and showed significant differences according to elderly nursing education. Factors influencing attitudes toward elder abuse were perception of elder abuse, subjective norms, and perceptions of behavioral control and grade. The results of this study indicate that it is important to increase awareness, subjective norms, and behavioral control for the intervention of elder abuse. We suggest that nursing education of the elderly is important for the intervention of elder abuse.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the perception of dental infection-control coordinator (DICC) among dental hygienist and determine whether there is a difference in perception depending on the type of work. Methods: Dental hygienists working at the dentistry were conveniently extracted and distributed to 351 patients, and the data of 320 patients were finally analyzed. The chi-square test was conducted to determine the difference in perception of the DICC according to the type of work, and the one-way ANOVA was performed to determine the difference in the perception of DICC tasks. A p-value of <0.05 was statistically significant. Results: General hospitals and university hospitals (100%), dental hospitals (95.8%), and dental clinics (86.6%) showed the highest awareness of the need for DICC. The dental clinics had the lowest level of awareness regarding the duties of the DICC, and dental hospitals and clinics were in different areas with different levels of awareness regarding infection control-related administrative support areas (3.98-4.21 and 3.79-4.12 of 5). Conclusions: Because of a difference in perception regarding the work of DICC according to the type of work, dental organizations should establish the tasks of DICC and develop an education program for a person in charge based on this.
Nine districts in Seoul were chosen randomly and a questionnaire containing 23 questions was distributed to survey the perception of noise pollution by the citizens. The results were primarily analyzed to understand the perception of Seoul citizen as a whole, and then analyzed according to 4 demographic variables -district area, age, gender and occupation -to see if there were any possible relation between nonnoise variables and noise annoyance. Actual noise level data measured by the city government were used to compare quantified noise level with the surveyed people's perception. It was found that people consider road traffic noise to be the naix source of noise pollution In Seoul and that most people have experienced annoyance in everyday life. Also it was verified that the responsibility for noise control should be on both city government and the individuals, but It was generally considered that very little effort Is actually put Into solong norse pollution from both groups. From the survey, It could be analyzed that domographic variables do affect people In the awareness of noise pollution, and that one's sensitifty and annoyance due to noise increase as one ages. From the study, It was concluded that noise pollution Is not considered currently as a hazardous problem to most Seoul citizens, however specific noise reduction policies, especially regarding road traffic noise, should be put Into practice In the near future.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect on maternal perception of her infant and the infant's behavior development through maternal education designed to provide information of the capabilities and the individual characteristics of her infant. The subjects were 48 pairs of normal infants and mothers at three different hospitals, 24 pairs for the intervention group and 24 pairs of the control group. The survey was conducted from July 30 to October 6, 2001. The results of this study were as the following. A maternal perception of her infant was significantly different between the two groups, more positive in the intervention group than in the control group. The information and understanding of behavioral characteristics of the infant are an important factor influencing maternal perception for her infant and general development of the infant. On the basis of these results, the educational intervention method of this study may be worth utilizing in nursing practice. The practitioners of hospitals have to establish a system that it offers an education of understanding the infant's behavioral characteristics during the hospitalization after delivery.
Purpose: The purpose was to identify the effects of a Tai Chi exercise program on physical fitness, fall related perception and health status among institutionalized elderly. Methods: A quasi-experimental research was carried out with a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. There were 23 subjects in the experimental group and 24 in the control group. The data was gathered by structured questionnaires about fall related perception, and health status. Physical fitness was measured by an exercise therapist with a blind principle. Results: At the completion of the 12 weeks Tai Chi exercise program, flexibility (F=4.50, p=.00), and ability to balance (F=3.27, p=.00) had increased significantly. Fall related perception showed significant improvement in the fear of falling (F=-3.52, p=.00). Physical functioning (F=3.38, p=.00), role limitation-physical (F=2.67, p=.01), role limitation-emotional (F=2.47, p=.02). and general health (F=3.88, p=.00) in health status showed significant differences between the two groups. Conclusion: The study findings revealed Tai Chi exercise as a useful nursing intervention for elderly that enhances flexibility and balance, decreases fall related perception and also increases the health status. Further research is warranted to compare the potential effects of Tai Chi exercise and its health benefits from other types of exercise or martial arts.
