The author conducted a dental survey of college girl students and compared with that of college students 20 years and 10 years ago which based on the same criteria. The items of this survey included the prevalence of dental caries, DMFT and the kinds of restored materials. College girl students 2,294 were examined in May 1988, with the recommended criteria and method of W.H.O.. Among them, the data of 2,243 were analyzed and compared with the data of 1968 and 1978. The following results were obtained : 1. The average number of present teeth was $28.86{\pm}1.65$, which does not show much difference when compared to $29.00{\pm}1.94$ of 1968 and $28.97{\pm}1.64$ of 1978. 2. The prevalence of dental caries was 86.22%, which increased in comparison to 83.25% of 1968 and 84.92% of 1978. 3. DMF index was 19.98, which considerably increased in comparison to 14.56 of 1968 and 15.51 of 1978. 4. The number of DMFT was $5.75{\pm}5.04$ per student. Compared to $4.23{\pm}3.88$ of 1968 and $4.49{\pm}3.69$ of 1978, there is a considerable increase. I) The average number of decayed(D) teeth was $1.14{\pm}1.63$, which decreased from $1.16{\pm}1.57$ of 1968 and $2.09{\pm}2.16$ of 1978. II) The average number of missing(M) teeth was $0.23{\pm}0.73$, which also decreased from $0.69{\pm}1.11$ of 1968 and $0.32{\pm}0.79$ of 1978. III) The average number of filled(F) teeth was $4.39{\pm}4.91$, which increased from $2.38{\pm}3.33$ of 1968 and $2.09{\pm}3.17$ of 1978. 5. According to the analysis of filling material, filling baby including amalgam, gold inlay, resin, silicate cement and paladium inlay was 90.5%, which increased in comparison to 72.8% of 1968 and 83.6% of 1978. Among them, amalgam occupied 62.93%, which showed the most increase. On the other hand, crown and bridge was 6.5%, 3.0%, respectively, which showed continuous decrease from 12.1%, 15.1% of 1968 and 8.7%, 7.7% of 1978. Therefore, the prosthodontic treatment reduced due to the decrease of tooth extraction. In contrast, there is continuous increase of conservative treatment which maintaining natural tooth.

For continuous I-girder bridges, a large negative bending moment is generated near pier region so that plastic hinge is first formed at this point. Then, the bending moment is redistributed when the I-girder has enough flexural ductility (or rotational capacity). However, for I-girder with high strength steel, it is known that the flexural ductility is considerably decreased by increasing the yield strength of material. Thus, it is necessary to conduct a study for guaranteeing proper flexural ductility of I-girder with high-strength steel. In this study, the evaluation of flexural ductility of negative moment region of I-girder with high strength steel where yield stress of steel is 680 MPa is presented based on the results of finite element analysis and experiment. From the results, it is found that the flexural ductility of the I-girder is significantly reduced due to the increase of elastic deformation and the decrease of plastic deformation ability of the material when the yield strength increases. In this study, the method to improve the flexural ductility of I-girder with high strength steel is proposed by an unequal installation of cross beam and an optimal position of cross beam is also suggested. Finally, the effects of the unequal installation of cross beam on the flexural ductility are discussed based on the experimental results.

A railway bridge with a double composite section is proposed to enhance the structural performance of existing two-girder bridges because the governing design parameter of railway bridges is the flexural stiffness. The concrete deck in negative moment regions is neglected in the design of continuous composite bridges assuming the concrete slab has no resistance to tension. Therefore, the flexural stiffness of the composite section in the negative moment region is reduced resulting in the increase of the depth of the steel section. In order to resolve this disadvantage, several methods are suggested and the double composite section is one of the excellent solutions for extending the span length and increasing the flexural stiffness. In this study, push-out tests on lying studs and mixed stud shear connection with lying and vertical studs were performed to investigate the behavior of the shear connection in the double composite section. Static strength of the shear connection was evaluated through the test results and numerical analyses.
This study applied elastic supports in order to evaluate load carrying capacity using measurement data obtained from load tests actively and utilizing various evaluation methods. In order to confirm the adequacy of structural analysis based on elastic supports and to improve the reliability of experiment results, we conducted a deflection test with flexural beams prepared as overhanging beams and, based on the results, performed precision safety diagnosis for real bridges under public service for improving the load carrying capacity evaluation method for bridges under public service. In the results of the bending test, compared to deflection calculated by the existing method, deflection obtained by applying elastic supports was closer to the actually measured deflection. In the results of evaluating load carrying capacity for a 3 span continuous steel box girder bridge just after its completion, load carrying capacity by elastic supports was smaller by up to 39% than that by the existing method. When the load carrying capacity of bridges is evaluated by the existing method the results vary among engineers due to lack of guidelines for evaluation such as the application of stress modification factor. This study was conducted as an effort to solve this problem through active research.
When women are removed with their matrix which is a emotionally significant organ of symbol in psychologically adapting themselves to mother and woman, that is threatened and injured with woman role decisively. This study tried to find the efficient nursing intervention method to maintain and promote their health, to cope with health problem, and to inquire into the loss experience of women with hysterectomy by using the phenomenological method. The analysis of the data was made through the phenomenological analytic method suggested by Giorgi. The result of the study was as follows : The factors which have influence on the loss experience of the subjects are an offer of information, support system, age, occupation, economic situation, family history, character, season, the existence of ovary and religion. The loss experience of matrix was expressed in lingual, reactions to the loss of function, sex, body change and husband, in behavioral behaviors in emotion and body. The loss of matrix of the subjects was relived by religion. perineorrhapy, exercise, reading, watching video and diet. The subjects each showed ways of reaction of fatalism, giving-up, coping on the loss experience of matrix. In conclusion, since we ascertained that the nursing in the process of recovery decide the quality of life. though women with hysterectomy undergo various loss experience and adapt to it in the end, it is necessary to give them enough information and educate husband, having on important effect on the loss experience, to be a good supporter, And technically skilled nurses of consultant are thought to be able to contrive better qualitative life of women with hysterectomy as an important bridge between the subjects and their required information, since the nurses have their well-formed position of relationship of confidence through continuous contact with patients and their family.

In order to maximize the effect of left ventricular assist device (LVAD) on ventricular unloading, the therapy should be begun at appropriate level of heart failure severity. We predicted pumping efficacy of LVAD according to the severity of heart failure theoretically. We used 3 dimensional finite element model of ventricle coupled with 6 Wind-kessel compartmental model of vascular system. Using the computational model, we predicted cardiac responses such as contractile ATP consumption of ventricle, left ventricular pressure, cardiac output, ejection fraction, and stroke work according to the severity of ventricular systolic dysfunction under the treatments of continuous LVAD. Contractile ATP consumption, which indicates the ventricular energetic loading condition decreased maximally at the $5^{th}$ level heart-failure under LVAD therapy. We conclude that optimal timing for LVAD treatment is $5^{th}$ level heart-failure when considering LVAD treatment as "bridge to recovery".
In this paper, an isolated ZVS-PWM boost converter is proposed for single stage line conversion. For power factor correction, we used the half bridge topology at the primary side of isolation transformer permitting switching devices to operate under ZVS by using circuit parastics and operating at a fixed duty ratio near 50%. Thus the relatively continuous input current distortion and small size input filter are also achievable. The ZVS-PWM boost operation of the proposed converter can be achieved by using the boost inductor $L_f$, main switch $Q_3$, and simple auxiliary circuit at the secondary side of isolation transformer. The secondary side circuit differ from a conventional PWM boost converter by introduction a simple auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary circuit is actived only during a short switching transition time to create the ZVS condition for the main switch as that of the ZVT-PWM boost converter. With a single stage, it is possible to achieve a sinusoidal line current at unity power factor as well as the isolated 48V DC output. Comparing to the two stage schemes, overall effiency of the proposed converter is highly improved due to the effective ZVS of all devices as well as single stage power conversion. Thus, it can be operated at high switching frequency allowing use of small size input filter. Minimum voltage and current stress make it high power application possible.
This paper is the study of BNWAS based on TLC. The functionality of BNWAS and its operations are investigated through its international standard. But the BNWAS to be used currently in the ship have difficulty in monitoring. Several kinds of data are generated from many equipments in BNWAS, such as NMEA-0183 data or NMEA-2000. Although these data are mainly used for the safe navigation of ship, their usability may be enhanced if they are managed to control the BNWAS equipment with sensors. The purpose of this system is prevent the marine accidents on sailing voyages due to drowsiness of watchers. On Night sailing, watcher is collected the navigation information from multiple devices and he determines the safe operation of the ship through continuous monitoring.

This paper presents a novel multilevel PWM inverter employing series-connected transformers in order to improve the waveshape of output voltage and to reduce its harmonics. The proposed 11-level inverter consists of three full-bridge inverter modules and their corresponding transformers. Among their inverter modules, one is used as PWM operation and the others as level generation. From a suitable selection of turns ratio of transformer, continuous output voltage levels were generated appearing an integral ratio to input DC source. Because of their series connection of transformers, output filter inductor is not necessary. The operational principles and analysis are explained, and it is compared with a conventional multilevel PWM inverter. The validity of the proposed system Is verified through the experimental results using a prototype.
