  • What is important in ubiquitous computing is collecting users' context information from various sensors and providing services suitable for use's current situation. Particularly in mobile environment, each area has different context awareness structure and this makes it difficult to share information with other areas. As a result, context resources for recognizing users' context ate insufficient. Moreover, because mobile devices have a limited processing capacity, there are difficulties in the real time analysis of users' context. This paper proposed a context awareness and integration model for analyzing users' context actively and providing adaptive services using mobile devices. The proposed model distinguishes users' context between dynamic and static structure to analyze the context, and obtains context resources by sharing context information of users within an area.

  • The ubiquitous computing environment focuses on recognizing the context and Physical entities, whereas, previous computing environments mainly focused on the conversational interactions between the computer and the user. For this reason, there has been an increase in the research of context aware computing environments. In previous researches , context services are designed using context ontology used in context aware middleware. So, context service cannot change the context ontology in execution time. We propose a hierarchical context ontology management for context aware service to change their ontology in execution time. And we also a resolution model for context conflict which is occurred in inference of context. We have designed a middleware based on this model and implemented the middleware. As the middleware is implemented on the OSGi framework, it can cause interoperability among devices such as computers, PDAs, home appliances and sensors. It can also support the development and operation of context aware services, which are required in the ubiquitous computing environment.

  • Current context-aware applications In ubiquitous computing environments make the assumption that the context they are dealing with is correct. However, in reality, both sensed and interpreted context informations are often uncertain or imperfect. In this paper, we propose a probability extension model to ontology-based model for rep resenting uncertain contexts and use Bayesian networks to resolve about uncertainty of context informations. The proposed model can support the development and operation of various context-aware services, which are required in the ubiquitous computing environment.

  • In this research paper, We have proposed an interpretation structure concerned with context-awareness which is essential to provide intelligent service. The proposed model has an interpretation structure that integrated information of both external and internal context, and been designed to keep independency between context information and application service. To verify the interpretation structure that proposed, we established a test bed (Ubi-Class) in which the concept of context awareness has been introduced to the existing class room, and constituted a scenario, and tested whether intelligent service is performed according to context interpretation.

  • In this paper, we design a middleware for context-awareness which provides compound contexts from diverse sensors on a mobile device. Until now, most of context-aware application developers have taken responsibility for context processing from sensing data. Such application-level context processing causes heavily redundant data processing and leads to significant resource waste in energy as well as computing. In the proposed scheme, we define primitive and compound context map which consists of relavant sensors and features. Based on the context definition, each application demands a context of interest to the middleware, and thus similar context-aware applications inherently share context information and procesing within the middleware. We show that the proposed scheme significantly reduces the resource amounts of cpu, memory, and battery, and that the performance gain gets much more when multiple applications which need similar contexts are running.

  • The initial research of Task Computing in the ubiquitous computing (UbiComp) environment revealed the need for access control of services. Context-awareness of service requests in ubiquitous computing necessitates a well-designed model to enable effective and adaptive invocation. However, nowadays little work is being undertaken on service access control under the UbiComp environment, which makes the exposed service suffer from the problem of ill-use. One of the research focuses is how to handle the access to the resources over the network. Policy-Based Access Control is an access control method. It adopts a security policy to evaluate requests for resources but has a light-weight combination of the resources. Motivated by the problem above, we propose a universal model and an algorithm to enhance service access control in UbiComp. We detail the architecture of the model and present the access control implementation.

  • Context-aware mobile cloud computing is a new promising paradigm that allows to improve user experience by analyzing contextual information such as user location, time of the day, neighboring devices and current activity. In this paper we provide performance study of context-aware mobile cloud computing system with Volare middleware. Volare monitors the resources and context of the device. and dynamically adapts cloud service requests accordingly, at discovery time or at runtime. This approach allows for more resource-efficient and reliable cloud service discovery, as well as significant cost savings at runtime. We also have studied the performance of context-aware mobile cloud computing for different quality of service (QoS) adaptation policies. Our simulations results show that when battery level is low and CPU usage is high and user cannot maintain the initial QoS, service cost is decreased according to current adaptation policy. In conclusion, the current adaptation policy suggested in this paper may improve user experience by providing a dynamically adapted service cost according to a situation.

  • In this paper, we proposed efficient forwarding path computing method using Context-Awareness Mobility Prediction Model. Context-Awareness Mobility Prediction Model is storing and classifying node's previous velocity and direction according to time in the hierarchical cluster structure. To overcome environment which node-to-node connection is broken off easily, the proposed algorithm calculate the connectivity formed matrix structure by comparing predicted velocity and direction, and use masking operation for selecting relay moving to destination. The proposed algorithm identified to show short delay by utilizing forwarding path which is continue node-to-node connection in the unstable situation.

  • In ubiquitous environments, context is any information that can be used to characterize the situation of an entity such as a person or an object. Many sensors and small computers collect contexts and provide applications with them. Thus, ubiquitous applications need to represent contexts and exploit them effectively. In this paper, we design and implement a context-aware messaging system, called UMS (Ubiquitous Messaging System), based on Java and Jini. UMS can represent various contexts using XML scripts, and communicate text messages regardless of user's location using the proxy mechanism of Jini.

  • This paper proposes an intelligent context awareness middleware(ICAM) for Ubiquitous Computing Environment. In this paper we have researched about the context awareness middleware. The ICAM model is based on ontology that efficiently manages analyses and learns about various context information and can provide intelligent services that satisfy the human requirements. Therefore, various intelligent services will improve user's life environment. We also describe the current implementation of the ICAM for service adaptation based on fuzzy inference that help applications to adapt their ubiquitous computing environments according to rapidly changing. For this, after defining the requirements specifications of ICAM, we have researched the inferred processes for the higher level of context awareness. The Fuzzy Theory has been used in process of inferences, and showed constructing the model through the service process. Also, the proposed fuzzy inferences has been applied to smart Jacky, and after inferring the fuzzy values according to the change of temperature, showed the adaptability of Smart Jacky according to the change of surroundings like temperature as showing the optimal value of status.
