A Study on Market Penetration Strategy for Smart Contents Providers (스마트콘텐츠 기업의 시장진입 전략에 관한 연구)

  • Lately, as domestic smart phone users exceeds 10 millions, Korea entered into real smart era in which smart contents market grows very quickly. One of feature for smart contents market is that there is few entry barrier for market penetration. So, it is essential for domestic digital contents providers to transform existing digital contents into smart contents to protect the entry of foreign firms into domestic market and to take advantage of opportunities to advance to foreign contents markets. The objective of this study is analyzing strategies of abroad companies which has penetrated into smart contents market successfully and classifying them systematically and the way to execute the proposed strategies. Future works of companies and governments to expand smart contents markets can be summarized as follows. First, they must prepare reliable data to elicitate proper market penetration strategies. Second, it is highly desirable to fuse contents industry and culture industry together. Third, it is urgent to formulate policies to promote SOHO contents companies.

  • Many information providers in the electronic market struggle to attain revenue from their information goods including contents or other services and they tend to charge for their contents or services since they are confronted with difficulties in attaining revenue from online advertising. This study examines why they begin to charge for their contents or services and explores Pricing strategies for their contents. Also, this paper explores business strategies when conventional offline contents firms enter the online contents market and draws some implications for the condition of entry of offline contents providers into the online market.

  • The best value proposition for the customers of satellite-DMB (hereinafter referred to as the "S-DMB") business in an environment of fierce competition shall be securing the best killer contents and distribute them in reasonable price as a mobile contents platform provider. In an era of merging the broadcasting with the communication, although many new players tapping into the market with state-of-the-art media such as digital convergence, the key to success in the market is dependent on whether the respective digital contents providers retain competitive digital contents which suit the taste of customers. Considering such market conditions, the purpose of this study is to look over the management examples of Korean S-DMB providers which is carrying out business in digital multi-media market and opening up the market, and to analyze the management strategies of domestic S-DMB companies to be the champion in the market.

  • Purpose - Due to the spread of COVID-19, non-face-to-face transactions are widely growing. In particular, the development of streaming and network technology has rapidly grown the one-person broadcasting market, an influencer market using YouTube and Instagram. However, prior research on the influencer in Mogolian market is very scarce. Therefore, this study aims to identify the factors influencing consumer purchasing behavior in Mongolian market. Design/methodology/approach - We tested a research model of our study through the analysis using survey data of experienced users in Mongolian influencer market. In this study, reliability test and factor analysis, multiple regression were conducted using SPSS. Findings - We found that the characteristics of an influencer and contents in Mogolian market are positively related with brand reliability and contents authenticity, respectively. In addition, the brand reliability and contents authenticity are positively associated with the customer's purchase intention. Research implications or Originality - Since it is the first study of the influencer market in Mongolia, it is expected that it will serve as a guide study for the follow-up studies in the future and serve as a reference for the strategic direction of related companies.

  • This study examined the stock return co-movement among Korean digital contents industry, American NASDAQ, and Japanese NIKKEI225. This is to identify the reaction of Korean digital contents industry on the movement of foreign stock market. To investigate the co-movements, during the period of 1999 to 2005, daily logarithm difference returns of each stock market indices are tested by the methodology of Granger(1963, 1969)'s causality test. The positive influence from NASDAQ index to Korean digital contents industry index are found, but not vice versa. It means that the market value of firms in Korean digital contents industry affected by the movement of American NASDAQ market which composite with digital IT firms. However, the co-movements with NIKKEI225 did not found.

  • With the development of Information and communication technology the demand for intangible products, in this case contents; are increasing rapidly. However, the market for paid contents is relatively un-vitalized and especially the market for business contents, needed for promoting business or work; is even more stagnant. Existing studies seek to vitalize the paid content market by proposing business models from the supplier's aspect. This study carries out a qualitative research, to discover the causes for market non-vitalization of business content from the user's perspective; by conducting in-depth interviews with 125 customers of business contents targeting office workers and independent businessmen. Through the answers of in-depth interviews, in regards of reasons for purchasing/non-purchasing business contents and problems of business content market; the result indicated that value, trust, and quality are the factors that have direct influence on the purchase. The study proposes resolution to all the problems indicated in three influential factors and derived the responsibility of each paid content market participants; the supplier, related government institution, and user.

Fortunately, Because Japan's market, the most world's cultural contents, has an environmental condition of advanced level, If Our en-contents have a high level, through localization and strategic alliance, the marketing strategies for japan' market will do a good chance of success.
