  • It becomes enabled to provide variety of multimedia contents through mobile service with the development of high-speed 3rd generation mobile communication and handsets. MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) can be displayed in the presentation format which is unified the various multimedia contents such as text, audio, image, video, etc. It is applicable as a new type of ubiquitous learning. In this study we propose to design a mobile learning system by providing profiles which meets the standard of CC/PP and by generating multimedia messages based on SMIL language through the adaptation steps according to the learning environment, the content type, and the device property of learners.

  • This paper proposes a context gathering system that obtains user's environment information from sensor and generates user's context profile. To design the system, we classify context and design context model based on traditional context-aware computing. The proposed system supports contexts adaptation service by gathering user's environment characteristics and biological characteristics and generating user profile.

  • This study focuses on drawing implications in the development of practical adaptation strategies of migration women by marriage. For this study, eight migration women by marriage were chosen and their adaptation strategies as a wife, daughter-in-law, and as mother to adapt themselves to family lives were observed. For this, phenomenological method was adopted and their adaptation strategies were analyzed mainly in terms of their relationships within a family. Their adaptation strategies drawn in this study could be categorized into 11 themes, 26 theme bundles and 76 meanings. First, in relation to their husband, their adaptation strategies were 'to live relying on their good husband' and 'to think of their husband as their supporter.' Second, the adaptation strategies with regard to their parents-in-law were 'to exclude their husband's family' and 'to admit their caregiving.' Third, their adaptation strategies in terms of their relation to the children, were 'to set their children as the goal for marriage life,''to incorporate themselves with the local community,' 'to be equipped with authority as a parent' and 'to raise the children as a Korean.' In addition, their psychological adaptation strategies displayed their admittance of changes, maintaining their own identity, their sustenance of self-esteem and the resignation. Finally, based on these results, this study suggested ways to facilitate their adaptation to family life as well as the essence of their adaptation strategies.

  • In this paper, we propose the effective exchange-method of a user profile for adapted contents services in the contents adaptation system. The profiles continuously exchange among the devices of contents adaption system for providing the adapted contents to a user. The profile should be also exchanged according to periodic, aperiodic, event, request and response. Consequently, a lot of network traffic occur and computing power require. Solving theses problem, the profile exchange research needs. we analyze creation information, exchange information, and exchange form of the profile information in contents adaptation system for effective profile exchange and define exchange procedure of the profile using the analyzed profile information. we also propose providing method of the profile configured information for decreasing profile processing time and user setting method for decreasing the number of profile transmission. As a result of performance evaluation, providing method of the profile configured information reduce 7% processing time and user setting method decrease the number of profile transmission are effective to exchange the profile.

  • Multimedia contents what we call Digital Items include various types of resources such as music, speech, text, video, graphics, and so on. The current Adaptation QoS described in the ISO/IEC 21000-7 CD-Part 7: Digital Item Adaptation, however, lacks adaptation methods for audio signals. The goal of this paper is to provide adaptation methods that are necessary to deal with audio signals. Two operations are introduced in order to adapt audio items. One method is to make use of the functionality of Fine Grain Scalability, and the other is intended to drop the channel of audio output channel. This paper provides a DIA description tool that associates the operators with the corresponding values of the constraint and the utility. Furthermore, the operations are evaluated and compared to alternative solutions.

  • In the mobile Internet, users generally work with handheld devices with limited computing power and small screens. Their access conditions also change frequently. In this paper, we present a novel method supporting intelligent content adaptation to better suit handheld devices. The underpinning is a unit of information (UOI)-based content adaptation method, which automatically detects semantic relationships among the components of Web contents and then reorganizes page layout to fit handheld devices based on identified UOIs. Experimental results demonstrate that our method enables more sensitive content adaptation.

  • Two new methods are proposed for an unsupervised adaptation of a language model (LM) with a single sentence for automatic transcription tasks. At the training phase, training documents are clustered by a method known as Latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA), and then a domain-specific LM is trained for each cluster. At the test phase, an adapted LM is presented as a linear mixture of the now trained domain-specific LMs. Unlike previous adaptation methods, the proposed methods fully utilize a trained LDA model for the estimation of weight values, which are then to be assigned to the now trained domain-specific LMs; therefore, the clustering and weight-estimation algorithms of the trained LDA model are reliable. For the continuous speech recognition benchmark tests, the proposed methods outperform other unsupervised LM adaptation methods based on latent semantic analysis, non-negative matrix factorization, and LDA with n-gram counting.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the actual condition of poly-victimization and examine the difference in the levels of psychological adaptation and delinquency by victimization types among adolescents. A total 6,174 cases from '2013 Adolescent Deviant Behaviors and Policy Issues' of NYPI was used for the analysis. Main findings are that 8.3% of adolescents exposed to more than two types of victimization and 2.1% of them experienced more than three types of victimization. There were significant differences in the levels of psychological adaptation and delinquency by victimization types. Study findings were discussed in terms of implications for research and intervention of adolescent poly-victimization.

  • Home care services, this study dependent family resilience and family stress, family adaptation through any route in order to examine the impact the Gwangju JeonNam home care services for elderly dependents, a survey of 203 people was conducted. The study of home care services dependent family adaptation family stress family tension without affecting the direct communication of the factors affecting indirectly through was. Based on the results of these studies look more family stress, family resilience to adapt because it affects family adaptability in order to improve the existing defects to reduce family stress perspective rather than focusing on the strengths of family resilience must be done in terms of the transition is proposed.

  • This writing presents a structural methodology that conceptualize' Fransis Ford Coppola's perspective and adaptation style of his screenplay derived from the author Mario Puzo's original novel "The Godfather". This paper is divided into two different stages: The first stage, namely the "formal stage", encapsulates the analysis of narration and exploring the effects of structural transformations, such as deleting, creating and modifying from the novel to the screenplay. The second stage, entitled "semantic stage", is concerned with ascertaining the difference between the structure itself and the adapter's perspective on the original novel. The opening sequence of will be used as a case study to explore these issues in examining its adaptation style specifically while also offering a template for adapting a screenplay from a novel.
