Do Younger Researchers Assess Trustworthiness Differently when Deciding what to Read and Cite and where to Publish?

  • An international survey of over 3600 academic researchers examined how trustworthiness is determined when making decisions on scholarly reading, citing, and publishing in the digital age and whether social media and open access publications are having an impact on judgements. In general, the study found that traditional scholarly methods and criteria remain important across the board. However, there are significant differences between younger (age 30 & under) and older researchers (over 30). Thus younger researchers: a) expend less effort to obtain information and more likely to compromise on quality in their selections; b) view open access publishing much more positively as it offers them more choices and helps to establish their reputation more quickly; c) compensate for their lack of experience by relying more heavily on trust markers and proxies, such as impact factors; d) use all the outlets available in order to improve the chances of getting their work published and, in this respect, make the most use of the social media with which they are more familiar.

  • Okinawa Prefecture is located in the southernmost part of Japan and has a subtropical climate. A lot of tropical fruits such as pineapples, mangoes and papayas are produced. Pineapples were mainly supplied to the canning industry. Since April 1990, the Japanese Government released the foreign trade restriction of canned pineapples and pineapple juice in accordance with GATT. Okinawan Farmers have been expanding the customers from the processing industry to the fresh market. During the recent year, fully mature, high quality pineapples which have 15 Brix in sugar content are produced in green houses on Okinawa. Prices are 2 to 3 times those of the imported pineapples. At present, they are sorted manually, and this sorting might cause the pineapples to lose their reputation. NIR applied fruit sorters have been developed and operated for apples and peaches in Japan . NIR applied tests were carried out to consider the feasibility into the NIR technique for measurement of the NIR a alysis suggests adequate correlations between sugar content and NIR reflectance properties of pineapples and mangoes.

  • Jane Campion's is a well-known film for a number of reasons, such as for being an Oscar winner, for having been helmed by an emerging director from New Zealand, and for having the reputation of being a feminist film. In this paper, the first scene of was chosen to examine the heroine Ada's language in terms of the gothic genre. Ada is a dumb woman who lives in the era of man's language. She represents the women's social position in the Victorian era but has her own and unique language for communicating with the outside world. The first scene of introduces Ada's own language, using her fingers. Her fingers speak for her all the time instead of her mouth, and there is someone who can understand what she wants to say when all others cannot. How the film depicts Ada's language and how the first scene well summarizes the film's core are examined herein.

노동(盧仝)의 <칠완다가(七椀茶歌)> 연구

  • This article is the result of a comprehensive research of Lu tong(盧仝)'s . First of all, this research looked into the tea culture and literary trend of 'tea-poetry[茶詩]' writing that prospered at the time as a background for to be created. Subsequently, the relationship between Lu tong and Han-meng poet's school[韓孟詩派] was discussed to establish the background of the 'Lu tong style(盧仝體)'. And the format and content of were analyzed based on the characteristics of 'Lu tong style'. Through the above discussion, this study examined why was able to gain the reputation of being " the best poetry in the world for tea ". In addition, was later being 'diangu(典故)', affecting not only China but also Korean poems. This paper also figured out that Su shi(蘇軾) in China, Li se(李穡) in Goryeo, and Xu Juzheng(徐居正) in Joseon used diangu of most frequently.

뷰티전공 대학의 교육서비스품질 구성개념 분석 (Analysis of the Composition Concept of Education Service Quality of Beauty Major University)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 뷰티 전공 대학생을 대상으로 개방형 질문지와 포커스 그룹 인터뷰의 두가지 통합 연구방법을 통하여 교육 서비스 품질 구성개념을 규명하고자 한다. 연구 참여자는 전국 2년제, 4년제 대학의 뷰티 전공 재학생을 모집단으로 설정하고 임의 표집방식으로 250명을 채택하여 조사에 사용하였다. 일련의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개방형질문지의 귀납적 내용분석 결과 뷰티 전공 대학의 교육 서비스품질은 전공지식, 교육적 자질, 교수-학생 친밀감, 학생욕구반영, 활용성, 교육과정 구성, 환경효율성, 교육기자재, 명성의 9개 세부 영역과 일반영역으로 교수 전문성, 교수-학생 공감, 교육과정, 교육 환경, 명성의 5개 영역으로 도출 하였다. 둘째, 포커스 그룹 인터뷰 결과 귀납적 내용분석을 보다 타당성 있게 지적하고 심도 있게 도출 되었다. 본 연구의 결과 뷰티 전공 대학의 교육서비스 품질의 측정도구 개발에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

문화적 접근에 기초한 한국 텔레비전 방송 주요시간대 광고 분석 (Analyzing Korean TV Commercials during Prime Time based on Cultural Background)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 현재 한국 광고의 메시지 전략 및 트랜드를 분석하기 위해 실시되었다. 본 연구 목적을 실행하기 위해서 한국 주요 3사 방송국 (KBS, MBC, SBS)의 주요 시간대 (저녁 7시-9시)의 광고를 내용분석 하였다. 내용분석 결과 한국 방송 광고의 주요 내용은 직접적인 메시지가 간접적인 메시지보다 많았고, 제품과 광고 메시지의 관계가 높았다. 더불어 브랜드 광고 빈도가 높았으며, 유머가 적게 나타났고, 회사의 명성을 중요시하는 광고가 많았다. 본 연구의 결과는 글로벌 기업들에게 한국시장의 프로모션에 관련된 지역화 전략을 수립하는데 유용할 것으로 판단된다.

드라마 시리즈물 몰아보기 행위에 영향을 미치는 심리 및 구조적 요인에 관한 고찰 (Analysis of Psychological and Structural Determinants that Affect Binge-Watching of Drama Series)

  • 본 연구는 미디어 환경 변화 속에서 점차 보편화되고 있는 드라마 시리즈물 몰아보기 행위에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 무엇인지를 규명하고 실증적으로 이들 요인들의 영향력을 살펴보고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 위해 기존 연구 문헌 고찰을 통해 영향 가능 요소로서 인구 통계학적 요인들, 시간적 가용성, 인지된 인터페이스 효율성, 인지된 콘텐츠 다양성, 정서적 불안정성, 드라마 몰아보기 동기들 등이 드라마 시리즈물 몰아보기 행위에 어떤 영향이 있는 지를 확인해 보았다. 또한 드라마 관여도의 조절 효과 또한 살펴보았다. 연구의 결과, 정서적 불안정성, 드라마 몰아보기 동기로서 즐거움과 스트레스 해소 동기, 프로그램 평판 동기 등이 드라마 시리즈물 몰아보기 행위에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 드라마 관여도의 조절 효과 또한 발견되었다. 연구의 결과가 지닌 의미에 대해서도 논의한다.

개인미디어의 충성도에 영향을 미치는 요인 (The Factors Influencing on the Loyalty of Self-Media)

  • Purpose As web 2.0 has taken root in the Internet environment, people began to create specific values to produce and disseminate contents on their own. In order to emphasize the personalized media attributes, the concept of self media was derived. In this paradigm shift, self media has emerged that succeeded in commercializing themselves in social media. Taking advantage of the influence of self media will have a tremendous positive impact on management activities such as marketing strategy, brand promotion, customer retention, and profit growth. This study examines the factors affecting the loyalty of self media in Korea and China because the studies in the area of selfmedia is not enough. Design/methodology/approach This study analyzed what factors influenced the loyalty of self-media in terms of Korea-China comparison. The research model was proposed on the basis of previous research papers. Content value, interactivity, ease of access, self-congruity, sympathy, and reputation were used as independent variables. Trust and satisfaction are used as mediating variables, nationality as moderator variables, and loyalty to self-media as a dependent variable. Results As a result, it was found that all independent variables directly influence the loyalty of self-media except interactivity, and interactivity indirectly influence loyalty through trust and satisfaction. There was a moderating effect of nationality between satisfaction and loyalty, but was not a moderating effect between trust and loyalty.

UCI 디지털식별체계시스템의 사용자만족에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Influencing Factors on the User Satisfaction for the UCI Digital Identifier System)

  • Korean Government has invested a lot of efforts on digital contents industry. It believes that the digital contents industry enables Korea to regain the reputation of the most powerful IT country. Among its various efforts to promote the digital contents industry, a Digital Contents Identifier System, called UCI(Universal Contents Identifier), has been developed and deployed. UCI has provided a critical infrastructure for digital contents production and distribution. Thanks to Korean Government's efforts, users (companies and individuals) have currently registered 3.8 million digital contents through 25 RA organizations. Although the number of registered contents has been increased rapidly, many organizations hesitate to adopt the UCI system due to the lack of visible and short-term returns from the UCI system. Thus, this research tries to explore factors which affect UCI user satisfaction. This research finds that user's awareness, information quality, and service quality are the critical influencing factors toward UCI user satisfaction. In addition, this research finds that the critical influencing factors in public organizations are different from the critical influencing factors in private organizations. These findings hopefully provide useful guidelines for disseminating the UCI system widely.

약학대학 학생들의 학습 포트폴리오에 대한 경험과 인식 (Pharmacy Students' Experiences and Perceptions of the Use of Learning Portfolio)

  • Learning portfolio is a collection of evidence that learning has taken place. It has gained its reputation as a useful assessment tool in the education of health professionals. The purpose of this study is to describe the pharmacy students' experiences and perceptions upon the introduction of a learning portfolio into the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience course. Methods: Fifty five students from one pharmacy school who used a learning portfolio to document their progress in the IPPE course participated in 16-item questionnaire exploring opinions and experiences of learning portfolio preparation, assessment, and personal and professional development and reflection. Results: Most students agree that a learning portfolio is a valuable tool in promoting self-directed and reflective learning. However most of them (46/55) also feel developing a portfolio is time-consuming, and when compared to their effort, an appropriate reward has not been given. Conclusion: To make the use of learning portfolios successful students should receive clear guidelines on their purpose, content and structure. Also the assessment criteria should be provided before the introduction of learning portfolio and their effort in developing learning portfolio should be rewarded.
