The study alms to identify how the symbols and images of Greek Roman myths in contemporary fashion have been reflected in respects of meaning and forms, and to find out the organic course from meaning to forms by using Durand's classification. The results define the significance of Greek Roman myths in contemporary fashion, and systematically suggest a direction of imagination for more creative design. In the diurne regime, the symbolism of purity, heroism and fear appeared. In the nocturne regime, the symbolism of maternity and sensuality appeared. In the dramatic regime, the symbolism of androgyny appeared. The characteristics of designs contained in each symbolism are common. In this regard, it is possible to trace organic relationships in the creation of images through the verbal scheme. In addition, the verbal scheme creates archetypal images that lead to images and symbols in the socio-cultural context, so it is possible to analyze the relationships between archetypal images and the format of garments. The study examined how the archetypal images that appeared in the mythical images were expressed in garments through the verbal system.

The purpose of this study is to examine characteristics of symbolism as an important trend of the end of centuries, by comparing the symbolic characteristics from two periods, modern(1880∼1910s) and comtemporary(1990s), based on the typical characteristics of symbolic art by Robert R. Delevoy. Af for the study method, the contents analysis is adopted to present an objective data analysis and interpretation accompanied by theoretical approach through literature survey. Delevoy classifies symbolism into three categories such as mysticism, eroticism, and decorativeness. This study is developed based on the Delevoy's three categories. symbolistic costume reflecting systems of the society and the phases of the times, became to contain all aspects of functional, symbolic, and practical. Especially, the costume I contemporary era adopted a new approach, philosophical factors controling human's sensibility, and a sincere and analytical attitude on progress of technology. This study provide the fact that costume is a part to create aesthetic of self-expression as a field of formative art. Contemporary costume allows vital power for daily life of human by pursuing new aesthetic value, and it expresses inner world of human and moves on future-oriented to regain humanity. The symbolistic characteristics will continue to influence varous aspects of our society and play a main role in shaping the purpose of fashion design in the 21st century.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of the non-sedentary in contemporary multi-housing planning through the understanding and interpretation of the modern nomadic life. A document research method was used to analyze and classified the spatial characteristics and development of the non-sedentary dwelling spaces since 1980. Finally, today the applicable cases of non-sedentary space are as follows; the sharing housing, the adapting housing, and temporary housing for the multi-purpose spaces, huge spaces and the industrialization housing. First of all, in order to conform the concept of nomadism, the theory and characteristics were divided into three aspects; The concept of thought of lines, events and Rhisome, and the spatial characteristics of fluidity, multiplicity and the non-hierarchy, that is mainly based on the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. This study attempted to analyze how the concept of non-sedentary dwelling space has been developed in what form and method they have been applied and interpreted in the historical background. It attempted to resolve the concept of movement and mobility through the experiment so that they might apply to the space of contemporary city.

Indoor space becomes limited by each factor engirdling and defining infinite empty space. Those factors appear as physical ones called wall, floor, and ceiling, and earn existential value as a living space by placing furniture in the space organized in this way. However, it is not easy to find a clear harmony between the space and furniture. Since long ago, a great deal of effort has been put into creating a relational harmony between the space and furniture. This study is to be unfolded by assuming that spatial furniture comes amid these efforts. Namely, furniture does not exist as a separate entity in a space but interacts with the construction; thus, furniture is immersed into construction or construction becomes furniture, which demonstrates that furniture is on the continuum of the composition of the space. This study looks into the characteristics of spatial furniture in contemporary indoor space through relevant cases, and prepares the ground for a creative interpretation of Indoor space.

보수와 진보, 이념적 갈등이 빚어내는 정치 정서의 팬덤현상은 문화매체인 영화를 해석하고 수용하는 데에 있어 우리사회의 갈등을 증폭시키는 요인이 되고 있다. 이 글은 우리나라 정치의식구조가 왜 팬덤화되고 있나, 무엇이 영화 수용을 정치 이념의 논란의 중심에 서게 하였는가, 그렇다면 바람직한 영화 수용의 태도는 무엇인가를 점검해 보고자 수행되었다. 당시 영화를 두고 보수와 진보의 논란이 되었던 <변호인>,(2013)과 <국제시장>,(2014) 관련 논문과 기사 그리고 인터넷상의 논쟁들을 면밀히 살펴보는 담론분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 보수 진보 양진영은 두 영화를 해석하고 수용함에 있어서 다른 시선으로 같은 세계를 보고 있으며, 두 영화의 공식기억을 정치정서의 양극화와 기억투쟁의 이데올로기, 진영화를 구축하는 기재로 이용하고 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 근현대사에 대한 합의된 기억의 구성이 되지 못함으로써 양세력 간에 서로의 공과를 인정치 않으며 자기 진영의 의미와 가치성만을 외치는 이기성이 갈등을 증폭시키고 있었다. 셋째, 영화 해석과 의미생산은 결국 관객들의 몫이며 거기에는 다양성이 중요한 가치성을 지닌다. 영화 수용은 관객 개인들이 현재의 현실에서 어떻게 해석하고 이상을 이성적으로 성찰하는 계기로 삼는 것이 바람직한 태도일 것이다.

Contemporary fashion design has been made a new attempt to extend restricted expressions through fusion with other genres in art. The recognition of fashion has recently been changed not only product but as a piece of work in specific value, concept and meaning created by fashion designer. It is observed that the contemporary fashion design has a notion to persue formative intentions and manners of Conceptual Art in Post-modern era. This study is to define this region of fashion design represented in cultural phenomena as 'Conceptual Fashion', also analyze the formative feature of this from a point of view in Conceptual art. The results which are analyzed according to outward techniques and forms, meanings and elements immanent in aesthetic contemplation of conceptual fashion lead to four distinctive things in such as anti-form, intervention and appropriation, metaphor and detour, process and series. The intrinsic values in conceptual fashion through aesthetic contemplation are indicated the four significant values in the following: the pluralistic interpretation, the parody and amusement, the pursuit of essence and truth and the participation and interaction. Conceptual fashion design is appeared complex not doing separate through classified formative features previously. And It has been evolved as a indeterminate concept which is able to variable elucidation by a non-player, as a instrument for communication on fashion culture which is aggrandized. The purpose of this study is to present of theoretical foundation about Conceptual fashion design and also to make proper understanding about interrelationship between contemporary fashion and art.

본 논문은 다원화하고 있는 현대 도예에 분야에서 퍼포펀스와 융합한 작품들에 주목하며 도예 퍼포먼스 작품이 담고 있는 수행적 표현과 의미를 연구 및 분석하였다. 이에 미켈 바르셀로, 요제프 나즈, 이강효, 테리 프레임, 제이제이 맥크라켄의 도예 퍼포먼스 작품들을 분석한 후 퍼포먼스의 수행성과 효과에 대하여 알아본다. 연구 결과 도예 퍼포먼스는 점토를 이용한 신체적 행위를 통해 일반적인 도예 작품에서 보여주는 표현 형식과 제작과정을 넘어서는 확장성을 보여준다. 또한 행위자의 실시간 공연으로 사건을 만들어가는 과정적 체현으로 작가와 관객이 서로 관계하는 열린 구조를 통해 기존과 다른 방식의 해석과 이해를 할 수 있게 하였다. 타 매체와의 융합적 시도는 현대 도예에서 탈경계성을 함의하며 새로운 영역으로의 확장 가능성을 보여준다. 이것으로 공예적 특성이 강한 도예 분야의 관념적 틀을 깨는 긍정적 영향을 기대한다.

'Eve 58-1', the subject of this study is a statue made of plaster and its structural stability was evaluated by utilizing the CAE program in order to prevent the risk of damage arising from impact and vibration that are generated during the packaging and transportation process given its material characteristics. CAE is an abbreviation for Computer Applied Engineering for realization by predicting changes at the time of application of virtual physical energy. It is applied by reflecting the physical property conditions and each boundary condition of plaster, and the digital images of the internal and external structure of the work were acquired through 3D scanning and CT analysis for interpretation by executing finite element modeling. When acceleration is applied to the work in the direction of its own weight, the left-right side and the front-rear side, it was possible to confirm a maximum displacement value of 15.24 mm in the head section of the front-rear side direction that has been tilted by approximately 27° from the Y-axis and the largest stress value of 12.46 MPa was at the left ankle section. The corresponding results confirmed that the left ankle section is the most vulnerable area and the section for which precautions need to be exercised and supplemented at the time of transporting the work by means of objective values.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how Korean traditional characteristics(traditionality) are reflected in contemporary multi-housing planning since 1997 and to draw its typical way of expression. Through this study, the following conclusions have been reached; The First, Socio-cultural characteristics have affected the planning concept of the multi housing planning in the three way ; traditional philosophies, community space and regional traits. The Second, Two characteristics of space planning were shown in drawings, sketches and photographs; territorial, hierarchic, surrounded space in exterior planning and intermediated spaces in interior planning. The Third, Ornamental characteristics of architectural and landscape design were found; the architectural structure, the traditional landscape, patterns and colors. In conclusion, this study found two types of expression of the Korean traditional characteristics. The first is ‘concrete planning’which was focused on traditional ornamental elements such as forms and colors. And the second is ‘abstract planning’which was focused on the traditional space planning in interior or exterior, philosophy, communal organization and regional characteristics by interpretation of architects and designers. This study shows that the combination of two types of the traditionality will be more ideal in multi-housing planning rather than relying on just one type.

The purpose of this paper is to review and analyse the influence of Hegel on architectural historiography. With the point of view that Hegel is the origin of architectural history, this study try to find out how Hegel's philosophy and aesthetics deeply influenced the principle and method of architectural historiography. As a kind of meta-history Hegel's idealism played a important role in the interpretation of architecture and its historiography. We can call it Hegelian legacy and it gave a determinant idea in the discours of architecture, especially Modernism. With a critical view point this study tries to reveal the mythical character of the premise and hypothesis of Hegel's historicism and also reviews its positive aspects in the history of writing architectural history. Today Hegelian thinking in architectural historiography is seriously criticized and considered as a old way of writing history. But this study tries to find a possibility to recognize the contemporary architectural situation with Hegel's concept of universal history. The return of Hegel necessarily does not mean the idea of totality and universality in practice as like in Modernism, but to widen the recognition in contemporary practice and historiography.
