  • Nowadays, the development of sustainable transportation has been researched all over the world and Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI) is conducting a study in order to apply the sustainable Contactless Inductive Power Supply Technology to the electric railway system. But, inherent large flux leakage has limited the high power transmission because the gap of the Inductive Power Transformer(IPT) is much larger than one of the conventional transformers. In this study, a method to compensate the leakage flux and improve the power transmission by using LLC resonant inverter was proposed, incorporated in a built system, and verified by experimental work.

Magnetic Levitated Electric Monorail System for Flat Panel Display Glass Delivery Applications (FPD 공정용 Glass 이송 시스템을 위한 자기부상 EMS의 개발)

  • In recent semiconductor and FPD (Flat Panel Display) manufacturing processes, high clean-class delivery operation is required more and more for short working time and better product quality. Traditionally SLIM (Single-sided Linear Induction Motor) is widely used in the liner drive applications because of its simplicity in the rail structure. A magnetically levitated (Maglev) unmanned vehicle with SLIM traction, which is powered by a CPS (Contactless Power Supply) can be a high precision delivery solution for this industry. In this paper unmanned FPD-carrying vehicle, which can levitate without contacting the rail structure, is suggested for high clean-class FPD delivery applications. It can be more acceptable for the complex facilities composed with many processes which require longer rails, because of simple rail structure. The test setup consists of a test vehicle and a rounded rail, in which the vehicle can load and unload products at arbitrary position commanded through wireless communications of host computer. The experimental results show that the suggested vehicle and rail have reasonable traction servo and robust electromagnetic suspensions without any contact. The resolution of point servo errors in the SLIM traction system is accomplished under 1mm. The maximum gap error is ${\pm}0.25mm$ with nominal air gap length of 4.0mm in the electromagnetic suspensions. This type of automated delivery vehicle is expected to have significant role in the clean delivery like FPD glass delivery.

  • In the manufacture of flat panel display devices, there is a strong demand for contactless glass panel handling devices that can manipulate a glass panel without contaminating or damaging it. To fulfill this requirement, an electrostatic suspension device far glass panels where the glass panel is supported by electrostatic forces without any mechanical contact is proposed. To implement the system with low cost and compactness, switched-voltage control scheme that is based on the relay feedback control is utilized. Relay feedback control method deploys only a single high-voltage power supply that can deliver a DC voltage of positive and/or negative polarity and thus high voltage amplifiers that are costly and bulky are not needed any more. It is shown that despite the inherent limit cycle property of the relay feedback based control, an excellent performance in vibration suppression is attained due to the presence of a relatively large squeeze film damping originating from the electrodes and levitated object. Using this scheme, a $100{\times}100mm^2$ glass panel was levitated stably with airgap variation decreasing down to $1\;{\mu}m$ at an airgap of $100\;{\mu}m$.

  • The latest generation of tram is low-floor design, various nations in europe and japan have developed battery driven hybrid trams that combine battery and wiring. Battery driven tram system is achieved by contactless power supply system, thus system is needed high efficiency, high power and low weight traction motor for maximization of energy efficiency. Research from abroad is still in induction motor(IM) application, and it is not meet the efficiency and the power per unit volume in IPMSM. In this paper, we design compare IM and IPMSM to apply battery driven tram, and then compare these motors. To design the motor, we estimate the loading condition at first. Loading condition includes rolling resistance, air-drag resistance, and slope resistance. Based on the loading condition by estimation, we determine the power and compute rated voltage and rated current. In this paper, voltage is limited by battery voltage level. As a result, volume about IM is 1.98 times bigger than IPMSM under same condition. Even though IPMSM is bigger than IM in power density per volume, we consider more factors for actual application because there are demagnetization of permanent magnet in IPMSM and so on by external environment conditions.

  • The Spiral coil is made considering primary, secondary side coil inductance, turn number, size, thickness, and shielding area with the litz wire-type in case of manufacturing a coil, and at this time, the semi-automation winding machine is used. When deciding on primary and secondary side coil specification and manufacturing a coil, the spiral coil of a specification varied in the various litz wire of a specification is required, and at this time, a difficulty is generated by the manufacture cost, period which during, and failure the manufacture is generated in the coil sample making. A difficulty is in the desired coil quality control of a specification. Since improving the rectifier of the secondary side in order to improve this kind of problem, the range of the coil design and the during the manufacture, various coil manufacture specifications can be comprehensively made.

  • 클린룸에서 자동 물류 반송장비가 선형모터와 비접촉 전원장치를 이용하여 직선구간으로 설치되어 적용하는 경우는 있지만, 곡선구간을 갖는 경우에 적용하기 위한 연구는 희박하다. 이에 저자들은 초기 90도의 곡선구간으로 개루프 구간을 갖는 연구를 진행하였다. 따라서 본 논문은 더욱 향상된 180도 곡선구간과 직선구간으로 이루어진 폐루프 구간을 구성(현장과 유사하게 구성)하여 자동 물류 반송장비인 OHS 시스템의 선형모터의 구동 전원으로 적용하기 위한 비접촉 전원장치의 출력특성에 대한 연구를 진행하였다.

  • 최근, LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) 산업에서 클린룸의 규모가 커짐에 따라 Stocker 시스템의 사이즈가 커지고 길이가 장거리화 되고 있다. 이에 제조업체는 생산수율을 높이기 위해 Stocker 시스템의 전체 택타임을 줄이기 위한 방안으로 Stocker 시스템의 속도를 증가시키도록 요구하고 있다. 또한, 제조업체는 고유가 시대에 여러 장비들에 대한 에너지 절약을 통한 공장 운영비용이 최소화되도록 요구하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문은 차세대 Stocker 시스템의 에너지 절감과 이송 속도증가에 따른 비접촉 전원시스템의 최적설계를 제안하고, 에너지 절감을 위한 비접촉 전원시스템의 시제품을 제작하여 부하인 크레인의 여러 운전 패턴에 따른 비접촉 전원시스템의 실증시험과 입/출력 특성, 효율 개선에 따른 비접촉 전원시스템을 개발하여 에너지 절감 효과에 대하여 서술하였다.

  • High frequency full bridge series resonant inverters have become increasingly popular among power supply designers. One of the most important parameter for a High Frequency Full Bridge Series Resonant Inverter is optimal coil design. The optimal coil designing procedure is not a easy task. This paper deals with the New Approach to Optimal Design Procedure for a Real-time High Frequency Full Bridge Series Resonant Inverter in Induction Heating Equipment devices. A new design to experimental modelling of the physical properties and a practical power input simulation process for the non-sinusoidal input waveform is accepted. The design sensitivity analysis with Levenberg-Marquardt technique is used for the optimal design process. The proposed technique is applied to an Induction Heating Equipment devices model and the result is verified by real-time experiment. The main advantages of this design technique is to achieve more accurate temperature control with a huge amount of power saving.

  • Recently, securing stable supply of fresh food is deemed as one of the important tasks. Accordingly, now the presence of cold chain along with the needs of a comfortable and healthy life is growing as the online market expands and the contactless industry grows, however, cold chain is being studied only in the aspect of ground and sea transportation. And, due to global warming and strengthening global environmental regulations, we believe that it is necessary to convert the existing road-centered logistics system into a railway-centered logistics system, a low-carbon transportation means. Therefore, in this paper we calculated the maximum energy required by the reefer container as a basic research necessary for constructing the low temperature distribution and cold chain based on the reefer container railway, and conducted a study on methods of supplying the reefer container power utilizing 1. tramline, 2. battery, 3. generator. The results of this paper can be utilized as a foundational study for building a cold chain based on a reefer container dedicated to freight trains in the future.

  • A power line coupler that can apply high-frequency power to a railway overhead line structure was analyzed. It is difficult to supply auxiliary power to an overhead line in a high-voltage environment, and doing so requires a long-distance transfer. A method is proposed that utilizes the resonance on the Rogowski coil, which does not use a magnetic core. A simple overhead line structure was fabricated that consisted of a contact wire, messenger wire, and dropper. Couplers of various sizes were fabricated and deployed on the messenger wire, and the transfer characteristics of the two couplers were compared at a distance. As a result of applying the matching circuit to the coupler, the transmission efficiency was 53% at a distance of 2.5 m. The proposed method shows that it is possible to apply the auxiliary power by using the existing conductor in a special structure, such as the overhead line.
