Design of XML based Information Exchange Format for Consumer Service (전력수용가 서비스를 위한 XML 기반 정보교환 표준 설계)

  • The standardized and open information model called common language and information exchange format should be firstly defined for the interoperable power system and two-way information exchange among the components of the power system. The information models and information exchange formats for power facilities and power system applications are being defined in power system area, but the information model and information exchange format for the consumer area are not being yet defined besides of metering information model. An architecture and open standard for the information exchange between energy service provider and consumer are required to provide various value added services through the networking with devices in consumer premise. In this paper, an architecture for the two-way communications between energy service provider and consumer is defined and psXML(power system XML) for the information exchange is designed.

The Effect of UCC Information Trait on Purchase Intention: The Mediation Consumer Satisfaction and Trust (UCC 정보특성이 구매의도에 미치는 영향 -소비자 만족 및 신뢰를 매개로 하여-)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among UCC information traits, consumer satisfaction, consumer trust, and intention of purchase. The data was collected 297 customers and analyzed using SPSS ver. 14.0. The results of this study are as follows: First, informativeness, playfulness, reliability, and usefulness of UCC information traits had significantly positive effect on consumer satisfaction. Second, informativeness, reliability, usefulness, and interactivity of UCC information traits had significantly positive effect on consumer trust. Third, consumer satisfaction and consumer trust had significantly positive effect on purchase intention. According to the results, UCC information traits are commonly important feature throughout customer satisfaction and trust. And customer satisfaction and trust are important factors on purchase intention.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine methods that may revitalize the status of consumer information magazines in Korea by scrutinizing success factors of 'Consumer Reports' in the Unites States. To encourage the use of consumer information magazines by average consumers, enormous efforts to improve consumer in advance are needed. Also, a change in the contents of the publications and effective distribution methods are needed.

Safety-Oriented Consumer Behavior Associated with Safety Information Search (소비자안전 정보탐색에 따른 안전추구행동)

  • This study aims to examine consumer product safety search levels, as well as their response to safety-oriented behavior change, in a bid to use the results in the diverse policy formulation of government and business, and as basic data for securing consumer safety. The findings of this study are outlined as follows. First, for consumer safety information search access and reliability, in the case of access, accessibility via TV and other press media was high, while accessibility via education (seminars, lectures, practice and campaigns) was low. Second, consumer safety-oriented behaviors were examined before and after purchasing products; there was a significant difference associated with monthly income prior to buying products. Third, in order to determine the influence of variables related to consumer safety-oriented behaviors, consumer safety-oriented behaviors as a dependent variable underwent regression analysis; information search access and reliability, and monthly income were found to significantly influence consumer behavior.

  • The aim of this study is to examine the consumer information behavior and consumer satisfaction in virtual community, and analyse influential variables on these. The data for this study were collected from members of virtual community for cosmetics in DAUM ( www.daum.net) through self-report questionnaires. Main findings are following; Virtual community consumer experiences satisfaction for products including information, and information behavior. And the greater information behaviors are associated with the greater satisfaction. And the virtual community consumers' information behavior and satisfaction don't differ largely by internet variables and socio-demographic variables. On the other hand, virtual community consumers' information behavior and satisfaction are associated with psychological variables like community membership, information wants, enduring involvements. In conclusion, these satisfactions make the effect of ‘feedback’ to information behavior, so these virtual community is able to be activated. And this also means that virtual community is Ideal space for consumer to expand information behavior.

Classification of Consumer Review Information Based on Satisfaction/Dissatisfaction with Availability/Non-availability of Information (구매후기 정보의 충족/미충족에 따른 소비자의 만족/불만족 인식 및 구매후기 정보의 유형화)

  • This study identified the types of consumer review information about apparel products based on consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction with the availability/non-availability of consumer review information for online stores. Data were collected from 318 females aged 20s' to 30s', who had significant experience in reading consumer reviews posted on online stores. Consumer satisfaction/dissatisfaction with availability or non-availability of review information on online stores is different for information in regards to apparel product attributes, product benefits, and store attributes. According to the concept of quality elements suggested by the Kano model, two types of consumer review information were determined: Must-have information (product attribute information about size, fabric, color and design of the apparel product; benefit information about washing & care and comport of the apparel product; store attribute information about responsiveness, disclosure, delivery and after service of the store) and attracting information (attribute information about price comparison; benefit information about coordination with other items, fashionability, price discounts, value for price, reaction from others, emotion experienced during transaction, symbolic features for status, health functionality, and eco-friendly feature; store attribute information about return/refund, damage compensation and reputation/credibility of online store and interactive and dynamic nature of reviews among customers). There were significant differences between the high and low involvement groups in their perceptions of consumer review information.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate on what kinds of consumer confusion exist and how much confusion consumers experience during their information search process. In-depth interviews and a questionnaire survey with college students were conducted to figure out the type and the level of consumer confusion. Results showed that college students were somewhat confused when they chose information channel and when they understood and used the chosen information. It was found that confusion was due to partly because of too many information and partly because of the lack of consumer searching skill.

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the Consumer Information Needs and the Related Factors. For this purpose, a suvey was conducted using questionnaires. The data used in this study include 535 consumers who live in Daijon. Major findings are as follows : First, the overall level of Consumer Information Needs was relatively high. This implies that more Consumer Information should be provided to consumers. Second, each level of need for Consumer Information content was very high except for one subject area(information of existence of brands in market). Third, in methods of consumer information acquisition, consumer wants to examine goods by oneself and to use his own experience and knowledge. Consumer did not want clerks' advices.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze searching value types of Internet consumer information and to identify difference of information characteristics by searching value types. The online survey was conducted by 262 netizens. We used SPSS10.0 package and statistical analysis as follows : factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA, and Duncan's multiple range test. The results were summarized as follows: 1) searching value types of Internet consumer information were classified into 3 types - high benefit/high risk type, middle benefit/middle risk type, high benefit/low risk type. 2)In the degree of significance for information characteristics, consumer recognized accuracy as the most important then comes variability, utility, up-to-dateness, and reliability in that order. 3) high benefit/high risk type among searching value types was evaluated the most affirmative types for Internet consumer information.

  • The purpose of this research is to analyze ‘consumer education system in middle school’, whether it is suitably organized to help students make the right decision in their daily life as a rational consumer in this fast changing “the Informational Society”. We divided the consumer education of “the Informational Society” into 4 fields of studies(consumer information technique, decision making on purchasing, consumer financial management, and consumerism) and made specific analysis for this research. The “Technology & Home Economics” textbook which follows ‘The 7th curriculum’ conducted by “Korean Educational Board” Ministry of Education & Human Resources Development for first and second grade in middle school were used for this analysis. The results founded are as follows: first, for the curriculum analysis according to the 4 fields of consumer education, both the first and the second grade students' textbook had consumer information technique as the major portion of the consumer education. Second, as a result of the comparison between the two grade levels showed that the second grade level has higher portion of consumer education in “Home economics & Technology” textbook than the first grade level. Third, the present status of consumer education showed that the first grade level's consumer education was only limited in consumer information technique, but the second grade level's consumer education was ranging evenly throughout the 3 fields of consumer education: consumer information technique, decision making on purchasing and consumerism. These results of this study contribute to the development of an efficient and desirable curriculum for the adolescent' consumer education, specially for school consumer education, in “the Informational Society”.
