  • This study aims to verify the psychological evaluation that consumers undergo when accepting virtual fitting services while shopping online. The Theory of Interactive Media Effects (TIME) was applied to determine the impact of the perceived affordance of media on consumer response through immersion. An online survey was conducted targeting female consumers in their 20s and 30s, and 271 responses were collected and used for empirical analysis. The results of the analysis showed that interactivity and immediacy had a positive effect on telepresence. Telepresence, in turn, affected perceived usefulness and enjoyment, which then significantly affected purchase intention. In addition, some paths confirmed the moderating effect of consumer innovativeness. In consumers with high innovativeness, interactivity was found to have a greater influence on telepresence and perceived usefulness had a more significant influence on purchase intention than in consumers with low innovativeness. Conversely, in consumers with low innovativeness, perceived enjoyment was found to have a greater influence on purchase intention than in consumers with high innovativeness. The significance of this study is that it expands research on customer perception of virtual fitting services within online shopping platforms.

  • This study reviewed the influence of consumer innovativeness and consumer knowledge on external information search behavior for the purchase of high-tech products. The strategies for offering information effectively for high-tech products may be proposed as follows based on the results of this study. First, the advertisements of high-tech products which are generally encountered need to offer sufficient information about the products in addition to fulfilling the function of persuading consumers. Second, it is necessary to implement an information network so that neutral offerings of information about high-tech products may be made promptly by reliable institutions. Third, information about high-tech products should be offered with easier explanations so that there should be no information-underprivileged class in utilizing the function of high-tech products.

프라이버시 우려가 모바일 간편결제 서비스 이용에 미치는 영향: 소비자 혁신성의 다차원적 조절효과를 중심으로 (The Effect of Privacy Concerns on Using Mobile Payment Services: Moderating Effect of Multidimensional Consumer Innovativeness)

  • 본 연구는 프라이버시 우려가 모바일 간편결제 서비스 이용에 미치는 영향을 탐색하였다. 특히 기존 단일차원으로 논의되어 온 소비자 혁신성의 한계를 넘어 기능적·쾌락적·사회적·인지적 측면의 다차원적 소비자 혁신성을 적용하여 프라이버시 우려와 실제 행동 간의 일치·불일치 여부를 성별(남·여)로 구분하여 위계적 방법의 로지스틱 조절효과 분석을 수행하였다. 그 결과, 성별을 막론한 모든 그룹에서 쾌락적 혁신성은 양(+)의 관계가 나타났으며, 기능적 혁신성은 여성 그룹에서 유의한 음(-)의 관계가 나타났다. 특히, 남성 집단에서는 프라이버시 우려와 기능적 혁신성의 조절효과가 나타났는데, 개인이 인지하는 기능적 혁신성에 따라 프라이버시 우려에 따른 모바일 간편결제 서비스 이용 여부가 달라질 수 있음을 시사한다. 본 연구를 통해 프라이버시 우려와 더불어 다차원적인 소비자 혁신성을 고려할 때 소비자의 신기술 기반 서비스 채택 양상을 다양하고 균형 있게 설명·예측할 수 있다는 점과 모바일 간편결제 서비스가 이용자의 즐거움과 더불어 해당 서비스가 보안 안전성을 기반으로 다양한 상황에서 유용하게 사용될 수 있다는 확신을 소비자들에게 보여주어야 함을 연구의 시사점으로 제시하였다.

유행동조성과 혁신성에 따른 소비자 세분화 및 준거대상 연구 (Consumer Segmentation of Clothing Products by Fashion Conformity/Innovativeness and Their Reference Groups)

  • When segmenting consumers according to their fashion adoption behavior, it has been assumed that consumers' fashion conformity and innovativeness characteritics are negatively correlated. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between conformity and innovativeness and that these two attributes exist independently. The research problems of this study were to segment consumers according to the degrees of conformity and innovativeness, and to identify differences in reference groups and clothing purchasing behavior among the segments. The results of the empirical study showed that the fashion conformity and innovativeness were in and innovativeness; High conformity/High innovativeness group(HC/HI), High conformity/Low innovativeness group (HC/LI), Low conformity/High innovativeness group(LC/HI?, and Low conformity/Low innovativeness group (LC/LI). When the groups were compared in their reference groups and purchasing behavior, it was found out that HC groups were more influenced by reference groups than LC groups. When HC/LI and HC/HI groups were compared, HC/LI group was more influenced by their parents and siblings, while HC/HI group was more influenced by upper class and celebrities. Both groups were mostly influenced by friends and desirable passengers on the street. Friends and passengers were most influential to LC groups also, even though they were less influenced than HC groups. In conclusion, the fashion conformity and innovativeness were found to exist in different dimensions consisting dual structure. Thus, retailers and marketers can make their strategies more successfully if they use these two characteristics separately when segmenting consumers.

Enhancing the Competitiveness of Organic Food Shops Using the SERVQUAL Scale

  • Purpose - This study focused on consumer perceptions of service quality in organic food shops, the innovativeness of organic products, and which SERVQUAL sub-dimensions increase purchase intentions. Another purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between consumer perceptions of organic food shops, their direct interest in organic food, and their purchase intentions. Research design, data, and methodology - We tested our hypothesized model within a structural equation modeling (SEM) framework, utilizing path-analysis implementation. The AMOS 18.0 software was used, and we found that it fit very well with the observed data. Results - The results of the full model (structural and measurement models) indicated the following fit indices: χ2=39.492, degree of freedom=25, provability level=0.033, RMR=0.047, GFI=0.948, AGFI=0.906, NNFI=0.958, CFI=0.984, and RMSEA=0.060. The effects of service quality on purchase intention, service quality on innovativeness, and innovativeness on purchase intention we resignificant. We also examined the statistical significance of the mediation effects using the Sobeltest and found further evidence to support service quality and purchase intention through innovation. Conclusions - These results suggest that, if organic food shops want to achieve a greater level of competitiveness, they must try to raise the quality of their service and actively promote the innovativeness of organic food.

Consumption Value, Consumer Innovativeness and New Product Adoption: Empirical Evidence from Vietnam

  • The purpose of this study is to employ the theory of consumption value and consumers' innovative personality characteristics to explain the adoption of new personal electronics devices in Vietnamese market. This study adapts a quantitative survey-based approach to test hypotheses about relationship between consumption value, product specific innovativeness and new product adoption. The study uses a quantitative data set of 915 consumers who owned one mobile electronic device at least in Ho Chi Minh city, one of the biggest cities of Vietnam. The data was collected through personal interview and convenient sampling method. The conceptual model was tested using PLS structural equation model. The findings of this study suggest that both consumption value and product specific innovativeness influence the adoption of new electronic products. The results also reveal that product specific innovativeness mediates the relationship between consumption value and new product adoption. The study further identified that consumption value was taken as a second-order multidimensions construct with five components, namely functional value, epistemic value, economic value, social value and emotional value. As a result, the research suggests some implications to enhance marketers' capabilities to develop strategies for launching new hi-tech products in an emerging market as Vietnam.

패스트 패션 브랜드에 대한 재구매 의도 - 제품 특성, 소비자 특성, 인지부조화 - (Repurchase intention toward fast fashion brands - Product characteristics, consumer characteristic, and cognitive dissonance -)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the antecedents of repurchase intention toward fast fashion brands. Perceived quality, perceived price, deindividuation, and overly trendy styles, which are product characteristic variables, and fashion innovativeness, which is a consumer characteristic variable, were considered as antecedents. It was hypothesized that product and consumer characteristics influence repurchase intention toward fast fashion brands not only directly, but also indirectly through cognitive dissonance. Data were gathered by surveying university students in Seoul using convenience sampling. Three hundred and fifty-two questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis. SPSS was used for exploratory factor analysis, and AMOS was used for confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis. The factor analysis of product characteristics revealed four dimensions: "perceived quality", "perceived price", "deindividuation", and "overly trendy styles", and the factor analysis of consumer characteristics revealed one dimension. The factor analysis of cognitive dissonance revealed two dimensions, "regrets" and "perceived uncertainty." The hypothesized path test proved that perceived quality, deindividuation, overly trendy styles, and fashion innovativeness influence repurchase intention directly. Perceived price and deindividuation influence repurchase intention indirectly through the factor of cognitive dissonance, which is the perceived uncertainty, indicating the importance of cognitive dissonance. The results indicate effective marketing strategies should be used to decrease consumers' cognitive dissonance, and suggestions for future study are provided.

소비자 혁신성, 가격민감도, 동조 성향, 소비자 가치가 패션제품의 크라우드펀딩에 대한 소비자 태도 및 펀딩참여의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Consumer Innovation, Price Sensitivity, Conformity, and Consumer Values on Consumer Attitudes and Intentions to Participate in the Crowdfunding of Fashion Products)

  • This study examined consumer attitudes and intentions to participate in reward-based crowdfunding projects for fashion products. We focused on consumer innovation, price sensitivity, conformity, and consumer values as factors that might influence such attitudes and intentions. A survey was conducted with 228 individuals aged 18 years and older who are aware of or have had experience using crowdfunding. Respondents were asked to answer questions based on the example of actual fashion crowdfunding projects. To analyze the data, reliability tests, the generation of descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and multiple regression were performed using SPSS 25.0. The results revealed that consumer innovativeness, non-conforming tendency, and emotional, quality, social, and ethnical consumer values had a significant influence on attitudes, which in turn affected intentions to participate in crowdfunding. Consumer innovativeness, price sensitivity, emotional value, and social value also had a direct influence on intentions to participate. In addition to its academic contribution, this study has important marketing implications for project initiators striving to identify and understand consumers who are willing to participate in reward-based crowdfunding for fashion products.

자기이미지와 패션리더성향: 의복관여와 소비자 자신감을 중심으로 (Self-image and Fashion Leadership: Focusing on Clothing Involvement and Consumer Confidence)

  • People are exposed to diverse images and naturally find images to express themselves to others for personalsatisfaction. They present ideal images that they desire to obtain or actual images that they already have. People find differences between ideal images and actual images as well astry to overcome differences by managing appearance or purchasing fashion items. The congruence between real and ideal self-images and perceived body images stimulate clothing involvement or consumer confidence to influence fashion innovativeness and fashion opinion leadership. Fashion leaders are known for confidence when making buying decisions on new fashion products and are more likely to influence other consumers to buy new items. This study useda structural equation model to understand the influence of perceived self and body image on clothing involvement and consumer confidence as well as define how perceived images influence fashion leadership through clothing involvement and consumer confidence. The results of this study indicated that self-image congruence has a positive impact on social body image and personal body image. A positive influence of perceived body image on clothing involvement and consumer confidence was also detected. Fashion opinion leadership could be explained by clothing involvement and consumer confidence; however, fashion innovativeness could only be explained by consumer confidence.

의복관여와 유행혁신성, 유행의견선도력과의 관계 (The Relationships between Clothing Involvement, Fashion Innovativeness, and Fashion Opinion Leadership)

  • This paper intends to examine the relationship between the consumer's enduring involvement toward clothing product, fashion innovativeness, and fashion opinion leadership. Specific purposes of the study are: 1) to identify dimensions of the enduring involvement toward clothing based on the theoretical framework; 2) to find out the effects of clothing involvement on fashion innovativeness and fashion innovativeness,m fashion opinion leadership, and demographic variables. The Likert Type questionnaires were used to measure clothing involvement, fashion innovativeness, and fashion opinion leadership. Samples of 389 women(college students, career women, housewives) living in Taegu area were analyzed by factor analysis, Pearson's correlations, t-test, and multiple regression analysis. Main results of the study are as follows: 1) Concept of the enduring involvement toward clothing is composed of five dimensions: fashion, importance, pleasure, self-expression, and perceived buying risk. 2) The clothing involvement is found to have significant influences on fashion innovativeness and fashion opinion leadership. 3) The relationships between the clothing involvement, age, educational level, and marital status are found to be statistically significant.
