  • This paper discusses an innovative acoustic membrane developed by doAZ Co., Ltd., offering enhanced noise barrier and dust control for urban construction and demolition, surpassing the performance of traditional non-woven fabrics. The membrane is made from recyclable bubble sheets and designed to be seamlessly integrated into single and double-row scaffolding systems, ensuring broader applicability and sustainability.

Evaluation on the Applicability of Recycled Fine Aggregate to Precast Concrete Products (순환잔골재의 콘크리트 2차 제품 활용성 평가)

  • While the amount of construction waste has not been changed much in discharge for last 10 years, the recycled resources refined from construction waste have been mainly applied to low-leveled one such as reclamation, back-fill, road base or subbase and so on. Thus this study addresses the applicability of recycled fine aggregate as a replaceable material in precast concrete. To evaluate the possibility, both of dry and wet processes were adopted as well as steam curing, widely used in the field for rapid producing. Most important experimental parameters were driven through preliminary experiments and were evaluated in terms of concrete properties. It is found from aggregate-replacement tests that all of consistency and strengths of concrete were decreased as the ratio of recycled fine aggregate increased, and the amount of decrease can be estimated using proposed equations. Though the recycled fine aggregate showed a decrease of concrete properties more or less, the applicability in large volume as a constituent of precast product was well noted from experimental results.

  • Urethane waterproofing materials which currently being used most commonly in the Korean domestic market have high applicability and construct layers without forming any joints, but under the influence of low temperature and low humidity, as well as the thickness of the applied layer, the curing time of this material may become extended in construction sites. To resolve these issues, a proposed method of using water-hardening type of polyurethane waterproofing materials are being developed. However, there currently lacks any standards or evaluation methods on determining an optimal mixture ratio of water for the water-hardening polyurethane waterproofing materials. Therefore, for the establishment of a board applicability of the water-hardening polyurethane waterproofing methods in construction sites, this study objectively analyzes the changes in the performance of these materials depending on the changes of the water mixture ratio and attempts to procure the optimal ratio on the basis of forming a provisionary standard.

  • In the last decades, the resource used in the construction process has become much more various in kinds and increased in number as construction has become enlargement and complexity. Resource management on a construction site has been recognized as a detrimental factor to influence project success, therefore various technologies have been applied by the construction industry to streamline resource management. RFID/USN interworking system composed of RFID technology and sensor network supports automation of resource management and real-time information networking. Most of research efforts for RFID technology in the construction industry have been limited to object identification technology. The study proposed herein it to verify the applicability of RFID/USN interworking system to the construction industry. The identification rates of RFID/USN interworking system by distance and degree and by type of materials was identified and analyzed.

  • This study is aimed at developing of the sustainable interface module for structural design. It is dealt with the Midas/Gen for analysis and design and Tekla Structures for Building Information Modeling. In this research, it is improved the applicability and function of the existing interface module developed by authors. Although model information was functionally well linked by the existing module in both directions, the applicability is limited due to the difference of attributes between structural analysis model and structural detail model. In this study, we analyzed the problems that occur in existing module. We have developed the interface module to solve the problems and improved the applicability of the existing module.

  • Neural network analysis is expected to enhance the forecasting ability for the real estate market. This paper reviews definition, structure, strengths and weaknesses of neural network analysis, and verifies the applicability of neural network analysis for the real estate market. Neural network analysis is compared with regression analysis using the same sample data. The analyses model the macroeconomic parameters that influence the sales price of apartments. The results show that neural network analysis provides better forecasting accuracy than regression analysis does, what confirms the applicability of neural network analysis for the real estate market.

  • Recently it is difficult to secure sand used in the improvement of soft ground, and so it is necessary to find alternative materials. For this reason many researchers are studying and trying to find new substitute materials. One of the materials is considered as converter slag by wind fracture which is generated in the production of steel manufacture by electric circuit. It is environment friendly since it is a recycled material and economical since it is cheaper than sand. To investigate the applicability of converter slag by wind fracture as the alternative material such as vertical drains, it is necessary to check the drainage effect of this in the field construction. In order to attain an successful design it is important to predict problems encountered in field construction. Accordingly, in this study the laboratory test was executed under different conditions in advance of applying of the field. A total of 4 cases including slag, sand+slag, pack slag and sand as vertical drains was conducted, and at the base of the laboratory test the field test was executed and analyzed.

  • This study has been investigated the applicability of auxetic mesh for the reinforcement of structural members. Typical materials including concrete behaves with positive poisson's ratio when external force is applied. In this study, it has been theoretically verified that metallic auxetic mesh restrains as such mechanical behaviors of concrete resulting in the stiffness increase. Also, regarding the applicability to construction field, a type of auxetic mesh has been suggested and the mechanical characteristics were numerically analyzed.

Applicability Examination of the RUSLE Sediment Yield Prediction Equation in Korea (해외토사유출량 산정공식의 국내적용성 검토(II);MUSLE를 중심으로)

  • Universal Soil Loss Equation(USLE) was developed for the estimation of the annual average soil loss from farm land. But, USLE has been applied in estimation of the sediment yield due to the construction activities in Korea without any calibration for last couple of years. Therefore, applicability and the limitation of the MUSLE(modified USLE), which was developed for the estimation of the sediment yield due to single rainfall event, is examined by application of MUSLE into several construction sites and comparing the estimated sediment yields with the actual ones. It is found that MUSLE could be applied in Korea as long as the concentration time, runoff volume and the peak flow rate are estimated with appropriate methods. Comparisons between the applicability of RUSLE and MUSLE are also carried out.

  • In this study, the engineering characteristics of CLSM mixed with GBFS and GF were identified to review the applicability as a replacement material and further evaluate the recharge and field applicability as a joint filler material. First, Using more than 30% of GBFS to replace FA enabled bleeding control through improved fluidity. Second, When using more than 30% of FNS to replace sand, it was found that adding 0.25~0.35 of the AE agent is effective for bleeding control through improved fluidity. Third, When using more than 30% of both GBFS and FNS in combination, it was found that adding 0.3~0.35 of the AE agent is effective for bleeding control through improved fluidity. Also, it was confirmed that proper mixing of 15~60% of GF secured the effective strength and desired quality as a refiller and joint filler material.
