This is a practice-based research, aiming to explore the experiments of Animated Documentary, which is a unique form can explore the mysteries and complexity of memories. Animated Documentary is a medium through which one can reveal an individual's memories within the context of a narrative that is historically situated and influenced. The marriage of animation and documentary gave birth to a new form of film. How to category this new form? Is it an animated short or documentary short? In fact, this raises issue that questioning the nature of animation and documentary. From Shuibo Wang's works, more young Chinese artists began to experiment with symbols (related to the Political Pop Trend) in visual narration, which could also be seen as a reflection of structuralism and semiology in the contemporary Chinese art field. As a case study, this paper demonstrates how animated short "Ketchup" revealed the problems of youth and social turmoil through the memories of a six-year boy. On the Festivals and conferences, the publics were shocked to know "Ketchup" based on true memories, and they were more curious why the crucial things almost be forgotten. Actually forget fulness is one of the layers of memories and Animated Documentary will offer a new way to explore how our memories are shaped.
The main goal of the research is to develop instructional consulting manual to help math teachers improve classroom teaching. Improving the quality of teaching in schools is stressed as a central focus of meaningful classroom instruction and high quality education. In this research, teaching consulting was defined as an activity that covers reflection process oriented towards formative assessment and continuing professional development. Within this context, subject-specific teaching consulting and teaching professionalism with focus on PCK was reviewed. Further, the questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the current situation of teaching consulting and teachers' needs for consulting. And also, specific examples of subject-specific consulting based on our previous consulting experiences in math classes were shown. Alternative ways to improve subject teaching were derived through the conferences where consultants and consultees analyze video-taped lessons conducted by the consultees. By those results, a manual for invigorating teaching consulting was developed. The contents of the manual consists of setting conditions of teaching consulting and its implementation in the classroom teaching. The first part of the manual contains steps to establish teaching consulting system, the qualification and role of the consultant, system evaluation, etc. The second part of the manual presents the pre-preparation, prescription and implementation and follow-up management steps. Each part of the manual provides consultants with specific guidelines for each step. Finally, recommendations for making policy related to ways to invigorate teaching consulting was suggested. It is expected that specific examples and cases of subject-specific teaching consulting presented in this research will be used to narrow the gap between theory and practice of teaching consulting, and to help math, science and English teachers develop teaching professionalism.
Harmony search algorithm (HSA), developed by Hydrosystem lab. in Korea University in 2001, was a new meta-heuristic optimization algorithm inspired by the iterative improvision process of Jazz music players where the best harmony is eventually produced. HSA is now one of the most well-known meta-heuristic algorithms (as proven by its cited number of the first published paper more than 3,600 times as of January 11th 2018 based on Google Scholar citation) and has been applied to diverse research domains such as not only water resources and civil engineering but also in medical science, business, and humanities. This paper is a review article written with the wish for wider application of HSA and other optimization algorithms, especially in the domain of water resources engineering. Therefore, this paper first briefly introduces the mechanism and operators of HSA and then reviews its application area and citation frequency per research domain. In addition, recent globalization of HSA will be investigated and summarized by checking the current status of related international conferences and on-going research projects. After reviewing previous domestic papers with optimization algorithms specifically published in the water resources domain, this paper is finalized by delivering some suggestions to encourage the application of optimization algorithms including HSA.

Due to developments in information technology and ensuing changes in the concept of time and space, the significance of national boundaries has been weakened, bringing to attention the heightened competition among nations. In order to respond to these transformations, the Korean government is increasing its efforts to raise the authenticity of the National Technology Qualification System(NTQS) by closely linking NTQS testing method and procedure to practical knowledge and skills in the industry field. This initiative is based on the recognition that the human resources development is a crucial factor in determining a nation's competitiveness. This study aimed, first of all, to diagnose the problems directly and indirectly affecting the testing method in the current NTQS. And then, differentiated solutions according to grade and improvements in the testing infrastructure were suggested. The ultimate purpose was to provide a blueprint for enhancing national competitiveness through increased authenticity and efficiency of the NTQS. Research methods applied during this study include: the collection and review of qualification-related literature; a series of conferences with leading experts; interviews with vocational educators and researchers from qualification-related institutes; a survey of national qualification holders from a variety of professions and industries; and participatory observation at qualification exam centers. The summit meeting of the South North Korean leaders was a turning point in the relationships between the two countries. It was followed by the Red-Cross Meeting, Minister-Level Meeting, economic agreements, which have increased the relationship more colorful in both quantities and qualities. However, the half-century period for separation was too long to overcome all the problems by only one event. The two countries have quite different social systems; one politically strong person is governing the North, while many interest groups are involved in political decision making processes in the South. In short, it would take a long time to settle down all the problems residing between the two countries. A system dynamics model is developed to describe the long term dynamics of the relations between the South and North Koreas. As a first attempt, the model focuses only on the diplomatic meeting issues between the South and North. The model aggregates diplomatic issues into 5 categories; economic issues, security issues, infrastructure, cultural issues, and past problems. It assumes that there would not be any dramatic changes between the two countries. It is a conceptual model composed of around 200 variables, and should not be used as a forecast tool. However, it captures most of the logics discussed in the papers and conferences concerning the South and North Korea relations. Many sensitivity studies and Monte Carlo simulations have shown that the simulation results matches with mental models of experts; that is the model can be used as a learning tool or as a secondary opinion until the data required by the model is collected. In order to analyze the current situation, five scenarios are simulated and analyzed; the functional approach, the conditional approach, the balanced approach, the circumstantial approach, and the strategic approach. The functional approach represents that the South makes efforts in the area where the possibility of agreement is high for the next 10 years. The conditional approach is a scenario where the South impose all difficult issues as conditions for resolving other diplomatic issues. The balanced approach is resolving the five issues with the same priorities, while the circumstantial approach is resolving issues which seem to be resolved easily. Finally, another optimum approach has been seek using the system dynamics model developed. The optimum strategy (it is named as the strategic approach) was strikingly different from other four approaches. The optimum strategy is so complicated that no one could find it with mental model(or by just insights). Considering that the system dynamic model used to find the optimum is a simplifind (maybe over simplified) version of the reality, it is concluded that a well designed system dynamics model would be of great help to resolving the complicated diplomatic problems in any kind.

It has been passed $5\~6$ years since Construction Management introduced in Korea, but a few government projects have been presented as CM instances. We performed CM service, on behalf of the foreign Client, in the Insa-dong construction, I-Project. Even though there were many limits in cost, time and other aspects, we have attained satisfaction of the Client and successful businesses of all the construction parties as adopting the advanced management methods. Many advanced construction methods have been applied for the purpose of time reduce, cost save and quality assurance as well as to the webbased project management has been imported to overcome the limits of time and place. They have actualized to increase the productivity of the project by managing the floor to floor cycle and quality systemically pursuant to ISO 9002, and by adopting Real-name construction and completion system (or individual activity. While carrying out this project, it is possible to establish mutual reliability and understanding enable to resolve the issues occurring in the early stage due to insufficient understanding of CM, lack of communications and team work, indistinct work scope through continuos training and conferences. Additionally, we became to share business targets among the parties and promoted the project in confidence. We wish that the success of I- project to be rated as a standard model of CM in Korea.
This study aimed to evaluate conditions and performance of quality improvement (QI) activity in Korean dental hospitals. Twenty one representative dental hospitals in Korea were selected by the selection criteria. A questionnaire was implemented to measure awareness, perceived needs, educations, conferences, works, activating/obstructive factors and satisfaction related to QI activities. Satisfaction score range from 0 (lowest) to 5 (highest) among 329 dental hygienists who worked in the selected 21 dental hospitals. Implementation rate of programs on external customer satisfaction was the highest 59.9% in QI activities, and reduction of expenses (59.4%), Improvement in health care quality (58.7), risk management (52.8) were followed, while improvement in work efficiency (46.5) showed the lowest implementation rate. The most influencing factor accelerating QI activities was 'active participation of hospital workers' (54.7%), and 'effort to improve customer satisfaction' (44.7%) followed. The most influencing QI related obstructive factor was 'lack of QI-related manpower and support' (47.1%). A balanced development including QI programs with lower implementation rates is necessary. Encouraging participation of workers may be the most important in developing dental QI activities further.
Recently, many studies have been actively conducted on the application of machine learning in all branches of science and engineering. Studies applying machine learning are also rapidly increasing in all sectors of seismic exploration, including interpretation, processing, and acquisition. Among them, fault detection is a critical technology in seismic interpretation and also the most suitable area for applying machine learning. In this study, we introduced various machine learning techniques, described techniques suitable for fault detection, and discussed the reasons for their suitability. We collected papers published in renowned international journals and abstracts presented at international conferences, summarized the current status of the research by year and field, and intensively analyzed studies on fault detection using machine learning. Based on the type of input data and machine learning model, fault detection techniques were divided into seismic attribute-, image-, and raw data-based technologies; their pros and cons were also discussed.

The multimedia synchronization is one of the key issues to be resolved in order to provide a good quality of multimedia related services, such as Video on Demands(VoD), Lecture on Demands(LoD), and tele-conferences. In this paper, we introduce an adaptive multimedia synchronization algorithm using the level of buffers and load of servers, which are modeled and analyzed by ExSpect, a Petri net based simulation tool. In the proposed algorithm, the audio and video buffers are divided to 5 different levels, and the pre-defined play-out speed controller tries to make the buffer level to be normal in different temporal relations between multimedia streams using buffer levels and server loads. Because each multimedia packet is played by the pre-defined play-out speed, the media data can be reproduced within the permissible limit of errors while preserving the level of buffers to be normal. The proposed algorithm is able to handle and support various communication restrictions between providers and users, and offers little jitter play-out to many users in networks with the limited transmission capability. The performance of the developed algorithm is analyzed in various network conditions using a Petri net simulation tool.

This study was conducted to reflect on the 30th anniversary of the Korean Home Economics Education Association(hereafter KHEEA) and to put forth a vision and a mission statement. To meet this purpose, first, reflection points were including the achievements of KHEEA for the last 30 years, the status of home economics education, themes of the bi-annual conferences of the Association, and the social contribution of home economics teachers. It was revealed that research and instruction in home economics education thrived by addressing social needs through its efforts in its 30 years of history. Second, a vision and a mission of home economics education were proposed in order to explore the prospective role of home economics education. The sharing of vision and mission functions as an ideal value and goal that home economics education as a profession should pursue, and it leads home economics professions to the direction that it should pursue. From this study, acting on a vision and a mission of home economics education, will lead to the development of a free individual, free society and sustainable environment, ultimately achieving the total well-being of individuals and families, society, and environment. This study reached the conclusion that the role of home economics education will become more prominent in the future society.
