  • This paper describes the position control method in yard crane drive system using Lonworks network, which is a leading industrial control network. The network is composed of host computer and three motor drive systems for both gantry and trolley position controls of both gantry and trolley are controlled with the simulator of yard crane, the size of which is about 1/10 with the real yard crane.

  • This paper designs the robust hybrid controller for the multi degree-of-freedom system having uncertainty caused by modeling error and disturbances. The controlled plant is the construction which has an active dynamic vibration absorber on the top and is excited by the El Centre earthquake at the base. The active controller designed by the LQR(Linear Quadratic Regulator) and H-infinity control theory. The robustness of the hybrid H$\infty$ controller is compared with that of the hybrid LQ controller from computer simulation.

  • In this study, control technique of two types of automatic snowplow was experimentally investigated. One is a remote-controlled snowplow used for removing snow around houses, and the other is an autonomous snowplow for use in wide, open spaces such as a parking lot of a large-scale retail store. A commercially available snowplow was modified to enable remote control by the use of a personal handy-phone system. The autonomous controller utilizes a vision sensor that consists of a CCD video camera and a computer for image processing. In addition, design of a practical landmark was examined.

  • This paper suggests mathemathical engine model which can simulate generalized gasoline engine. Suggested engine model contains air/fuel inlet element, intake manifold, combustion, engine dynamics. In order to analyze a gasoline engine, physical characteristics of engine and steady state engine data should be controlled. In adaptation for abrupt change of circumstance or drive conditions, this model can analyze important physical phenomena in the intake manifold by computer simulation. This model can also evaluate statuses of drive under various working conditions precisely. Therfore, this model suggests basic datum to evaluate the engine system which are needed in designing and development of engine controller.

  • This paper considers modelling and control of ABS(Anti-skid Brake System) which avoids dangerous wheel locking due to excessive brake pressure during the vehicle braking. The brake pressure is controlled by on and off's of solenoid valves via the variation of the wheel circumferential deceleration measured using tacho-sensors. The dynamic model between the brake pressure and the wheel acceleration of a vehicle is mathematically derived. The computer simulation shows that the threshold value of the on-off control is critical to the performance of the ABS.

  • The squirrel-cage induction motor can be characterized as a nonlinear and multi-input, multi-output system, and has the unmeasurable states which are the rotor currents. In this paper, the time-delayed output feedback method is applied to the speed control of induction motor driven by the current-controlled PWM inverter and its performance is investigated by using the computer simulation.

  • In the original incremental Extended Horizon Control, the control inputs are computed recursively each step in the prediction horizon. But in this paper, we propose another incremental Extended Horizon Self-tuning Control version in which control inputs can be computed directly in any time interval. The effectiveness of this algorithm in a variable time delay or load disturbances environment is demonstrated by computer simulation. The controlled plant is a nonminimum phase system.

  • In the original incremental generalized predictive control, the receding horizon predictive control is introduced as a control law. But in this paper, we propose a generalized predictive self-tuning control using full-valued incremental controls. The control law is a mean horizon predictive control. The effectiveness of this algorithm in a variable time delay or load disturbances environment is demonstrated by computer simulation. The controlled plant is a nonminimum phase system.

  • In this paper, Controlled Knowledge Base(CKB) type fuzzy learning controller for force/servo control system was proposed and the application for them was also studied. To achieve them, we derive fuzzy set from expert knowledges and reson the appropriate control gains by parameter estimation of object. Then, we proved it by computer simulation that we can reduce the ambigious effect, which is not able to be estimated, by designing the controller based on CKB.

  • The anodic oxidation of aniline in aqueous sulfuric acid solution on a platinum was studied. To examine of mechanism of this reaction, the date were obtained during controlled potential electrolysis, aided by computer system. The reaction mechanism was assumed the electrochemical-chemical-electrochemical(ECE) mechanism. We obtained the result that the intial charge transfer step proceeds through a radical cation, and this radical cation were bound cation led to may type of dimer in which p-aminodiphenylamine was de-electronated again to give the polymer.
