  • Ad hoc sensor network is characterized by decentralized structure and ad hoc deployment. Sensor networks have all basic features of ad hoc network except different degrees such as lower mobility and more stringent energy requirements. Existing protocols provide different tradeoffs among some desirable characteristics such as fault tolerance, distributed computation, robustness, scalability and reliability. wireless protocols suggested so far are very limited, generally focusing on communication to a single base station or on aggregating sensor data. The main reason having such restrictions is due to maximum lifetime to maintain network activities. The network lifetime is an important design metric in ad hoc networks. Since every node does a router role, it is not possible for other nodes to communicate with each other if some nodes do not work due to energy lack. In this paper, we suggest an experimental ad-hoc on-demand distance vector routing protocol to optimize the communication of energy of the network nodes.The load distribution avoids the choice of exhausted nodes at the route selection phase, thus balances the use of energy among nodes and maximizing the network lifetime. In transmission control phase, there is a balance between the choice of a high transmission power that lead to increase in the range of signal transmission thus reducing the number of hops and lower power levels that reduces the interference on the expense of network connectivity.

  • As an important basic building block of the smart grid environment, smart meter provides real-time electricity consumption information to the utility. However, ensuring information security and privacy in the smart meter data aggregation process is a non-trivial task. Even though the secure data aggregation for the smart meter has been a lot of attention from both academic and industry researchers in recent years, most of these studies are not secure against internal attackers or cannot provide data integrity. Besides, their computation costs are not satisfactory because the bilinear pairing operation or the hash-to-point operation is performed at the smart meter system. Recently, blockchains or distributed ledgers are an emerging technology that has drawn considerable interest from energy supply firms, startups, technology developers, financial institutions, national governments and the academic community. In particular, blockchains are identified as having the potential to bring significant benefits and innovation for the electricity consumption network. This study suggests a distributed, privacy-preserving, and simple secure smart meter data aggregation system, backed up by Blockchain technology. Smart meter data are aggregated and verified by a hierarchical Merkle tree, in which the consensus protocol is supported by the practical Byzantine fault tolerance algorithm.

Radix-4 Trellis Parallel Architecture and Trace Back Viterbi Decoder with Backward State Transition Control (Radix-4 트렐리스 병렬구조 및 역방향 상태천이의 제어에 의한 역추적 비터비 디코더)

  • This paper describes an implementation of radix-4 trellis parallel architecture and backward state transition control trace back Viterbi decoder, and presents the application results to high speed wireless LAN. The radix-4 parallelized architecture Vietrbi decoder can not only improve the throughput with simple structure, but also have small processing delay time and overhead circuit compared to M-step trellis architecture one. Based on these features, this paper addresses a novel Viterbi decoder which is composed of branch metric computation, architecture of ACS and trace back decoding by sequential control of backward state transition for the implementation of radix-4 trellis parallelized structure. With the proposed architecture, the decoding of variable code rate due to puncturing the base code can easily be implemented by the unified Viterbi decoder. Moreover, any additional circuit and/or peripheral control logic are not required in the proposed decoder architecture. The trace back decoding scheme with backward state transition control can carry out the sequential decoding according to ACS cycle clock without additional circuit for survivor memory control. In order to evaluate the usefulness, the proposed method is applied to channel CODEC of the IEEE 802.11a high speed wireless LAN, and HDL coding simulation results are presented.

  • An integrated model is presented to describe underground flow and mass transport, using a multicomponent multiphase approach. The comprehensive governing equation is derived considering mass and force balances of chemical species over four phases(water, oil, air, and soil) in a schematic elementary volume. Compact and systemati notations of relevant variables and equations are introduced to facilitate the inclusion of complex migration and transformation processes, and variable spatial dimensions. The resulting nonlinear system is solved by a multidimensional finite element code. The developed code with dynamic array allocation, is sufficiently flexible to work across a wide spectrum of computers, including an IBM ES 9000/900 vector facility, SP2 cluster machine, Unix workstations and PCs, for one-, two and three-dimensional problems. To reduce the computation time and storage requirements, the system equations are decoupled and solved using a banded global matrix solver, with the vector and parallel processing on the IBM 9000. To avoide the numerical oscillations of the nonlinear problems in the case of convective dominant transport, the techniques of upstream weighting, mass lumping, and elementary-wise parameter evaluation are applied. The instability and convergence criteria of the nonlinear problems are studied for the one-dimensional analogue of FEM and FDM. Modeling capacity is presented in the simulation of three dimensional composite multiphase TCE migration. Comprehesive simulation feature of the code is presented in a companion paper of this issue for the specific groundwater or flow and contamination problems.

Video Quality Metric Using One-Dimensional Histograms of Motion Vectors (움직임 벡터의 1차원 히스토그램을 이용한 비디오 화질 평가 척도)

  • This paper proposes a novel reduced-reference assessment method for video quality assessment, in which one-dimensional (1-D) histograms of motion vectors (MVs) are used as features of videos. The proposed method is more efficient than the conventional methods in view of computation time, because the proposed quality metric decodes MVs directly from video stream in the parsing process instead of reconstructing the distorted video at the receiver. Moreover, in view of data size, the propose method is efficient because a sender transmits 1-D histograms of MVs accumulated over whole input video sequences. Here, we use 1-D histograms of MVs accumulated over the whole video sequences, which is different from the conventional methods that assessed each image independently. For testing the similarity between histograms, we use histogram intersection and histogram difference methods. We compare the proposed method with the conventional methods for 52 video clips, which are coded under varying bit rate, image size, and frame rate. Experimental results show that the proposed method is more efficient than the conventional methods and that the proposed method is more similar to the mean opinion score (MOS) than conventional algorithms.

  • 개발적인 측면에서 온라인 게임 환경에서의 NPC(Non Playable Character)들은 환경인식능력, 이동능력, 특수 능력 및 아이템의 소유 배분 등을 원활히 하기 위한 능력들을 소유해야 하며, 게임 환경을 인식, 저장하기 위한 데이터구조와 자신만의 독특한 임무(mission)를 달성하기 위한 계획을 갖고 행위를 해야 한다. 이런 의미에서 NPC는 자신만의 고유한 규칙과 행동 패턴, 그리고 목표(Goal)와 이를 실행하기 위한 계획(plan)을 소유하는 에이전트로 인식되어야 할 것이다. 그러나, 기존 게임의 NPC 제어 구조나 구현 방법은 이러한 요구조건에 부합되지 못한 부분이 많았다. C/C++ 같은 컴퓨터 언어들을 이용한 구현은 NPC의 유연성이나, 행위에 많은 문제점이 있었다. 이들 언어의 switch 문법은 NPC의 몇몇 특정 상태를 묘사하고, 그에 대한 행위를 지정하는 방법으로 사용되었으나, 게임 환경이 복잡해지면서, 더욱더 방대한 코드를 만들어야 했고, 해석하는데 많은 어려움을 주었으며, 동일한 NPC에 다른 행동패턴을 적용시키기도 어려웠다. 또한, 대부분의 제어권을 게임 서버 폭에서 도맡아 함으로써, 서버측에 많은 과부하 요인이 되기도 하였다. 이러한 어려움을 제거하기 위해서 게임 스크립트를 사용하기도 하였지만, 그 또한 단순 반복적인 패턴에 사용되거나, 캐릭터의 속성적인 측면만을 기술 할 수 있을 뿐이었다 이러한 어려움을 해소하기 위해서는 NPC들의 작업에 필요한 지식의 계층적 분화를 해야 하고, 현재 상황과 목표 변화에 적합한 반응을 표현할 수 있는 스크립트의 개발이 필수 적이라 할 수 있다 또한 스크립트의 실행도 게임 서버 측이 아닌 클라이언트 측에서 수행됨으로써, 서버에 걸리는 많은 부하를 줄일 수 있어야 할 것이다. 본 논문에서는, 대표적인 반응형 에이전트 시스템인 UMPRS/JAM을 이용하여, 에이전트 기반의 게임 캐릭터 구현 방법론에 대해 알아본다.퓨터 부품조립을 사용해서 Template-based reasoning 예를 보인다 본 방법론은 검색노력을 줄이고, 검색에 있어 Feasibility와 Admissibility를 보장한다.매김할 수 있는 중요한 계기가 될 것이다.재무/비재무적 지표를 고려한 인공신경망기법의 예측적중률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 로지스틱회귀 분석의 재무적 지표모형은 훈련, 시험용이 84.45%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 84.45%, 85.08%로서 거의 동일한 예측적중률을 가졌으나 인공신경망기법 분석에서는 재무적 지표모형이 92.23%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형에서는 91.12%, 88.06%로서 향상된 예측적중률을 나타내었다.ting LMS according to increasing the step-size parameter $\mu$ in the experimentally computed. learning curve.   • 최근 IT 산업이 급성장하면서 화상 회의, 게임, 채팅 등에서의 아바타(avatar) 제어를 위한 자연스러운 인터페이스 기술이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 동적 윤곽선 모델(active contour models; snakes)을 이용하여 복잡한 배경이 있는 컬러 CCD 카메라 영상에서 얼굴과 눈, 입, 눈썹, 코 등의 얼굴 요소에 대해 윤곽선을 추출하거나 위치를 파악하는 방법을 제안한다. 일반적으로 스네이크 알고리즘은 잡음에 민감하고 초기 모델을 어떻게 설정하는가에 따라 추출 성능이 크게 좌우되기 때문에 주로 단순한 배경의 영상에서 정면 얼굴의 추출에 사용되어왔다 본 연구에서는 이러한 단점을 파악하기 위해, 먼저 YIQ 색상 모델의 I 성분을 이용한 색상 정보와 차 영상 정보를 사용하여 얼굴의 최소 포함 사각형(minimum enclosing rectangle; MER)을 찾고, 이 얼굴 영역 내에서 기하학적인 위치 정보와 에지 정보를 이용하여 눈, 입, 눈썹, 코의 MER을 설정한다. 그런 다음, 각 요소의 MER 내에서 1차 미분과 2차 미분에 근거한 내부 에너지와 에지에 기반한 영상 에너지를 이용한 스네이크 알고리즘을 적용한다. 이때, 에지 영상에서 얼굴 주변의 복잡한 잡음을 제거하기 위하여 색상 정보 영상과 차 영상에 각각 모폴로지(morphology)의 팽창(dilation) 연산을 적용하고 이들의 AND 결합 영상에 팽창 연산을 다시 적용한 이진 영상을 필터로 사용한다. 총 7명으로부터 양 눈이 보이는 정면 유사 방향의 영상을 20장씩 취득하여 총 140장에 대해 실험한 결과, MER의 오차율은 얼굴, 눈, 입에 대해 각각 6.2%, 11.2%, 9.4%로 나타났다. 또한, 스네이크의 초기 제어점을 얼굴은 44개, 눈은 16개, 입은 24개로 지정하여 MER추출에 성공한 영상에 대해 스네이크 알고리즘을 수행한 결과, 추출된 영역의 오차율은 각각 2.2%, 2.6%, 2.5%로 나타났다.해서 Template-based reasoning 예를 보인다 본 방법론은 검색노력을 줄이고, 검색에 있어 Feasibility와 Admissibility를 보장한다.매김할 수 있는 중요한 계기가 될 것이다.재무/비재무적 지표를 고려한 인공신경망기법의 예측적중률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 로지스틱회귀 분석의 재무적 지표모형은 훈련, 시험용이 84.45%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 84.45%, 85.08%로서 거의 동일한 예측적중률을 가졌으나 인공신경망기법 분석에서는 재무적 지표모형이 92.23%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형에서는 91.12%, 88.06%로서 향상된 예측적중률을 나타내었다.ting LMS according to increasing the step-size parameter $\mu$ in the experimentally computed. learning curve. An Analysis of Recruitment Importance and Priority of According to the introduction of NCS(National Competency Standards) in Sports Public Institution (NCS(국가직무능력표준) 도입에 따른 스포츠계열 공공기관의 채용 중요도 및 우선순위 분석)

  • The purpose is to increase the likelihood of physical education students for employment in public institutions by examining the priority for hiring sports-related public institutions. The subject of the study was purposeful sampling of a total of 11 persons including 4 sports professors, 3 NCS experts in sports field, 2 judges from public sports institutions, and 2 personnel in charge of hiring public institutions. Through this process, from January 3 to March 12, 2020, the importance of priority was analyzed using hierarchical structure analysis using the main factors of NCS vocational basic competency. All data are coded so that statistical processing can be performed. Using SPSS/PC (ver. 21.0) for Windows, the hierarchical structure analysis was used for frequency analysis and priority determination. First, communication skills (.231), organizational comprehension skills (.177), resource management skills (.128), interpersonal skills (.110), vocational ethics (.082), problems in the major areas of recruitment of sports-related public institutions Solving ability (.061), information ability (.056), mathematical ability (.054), self-development ability (.052), and description ability (.049) were analyzed in order. Second, in terms of evaluation items, communication is communication skills (.442), mathematical skills are basic computation skills (.512), problem solving skills are thinking skills (.722), self-development skills are self-management skills (.587), Resource management ability was analyzed in order of time management ability (.531), interpersonal relationship ability as teamwork ability (.382), information ability in computer use ability (.677), technical ability in technology understanding ability (.599).

Sensitivity Analysis of Runoff-Quality Parameters in the Urban Basin (도시 배수유역의 유출-수질 특성인자의 민감도 분석)

  • The purpose of the study is to analyze the sensitivity of the parameters that affect the runoff and water quality in the studied drainage basins. SWMM model is applied to the four drainage basins located at Namgazwa and Sanbon in Seoul and Gray Haven and Kings Creek in the USA. first of all, the optimum values of the parameters which have least simulation error to the observed data, are detected by iteration procedure. These are used as the standard values which are compared against the procedure. These are used as the standard values which are compared against the varied parameter values. In order to catch the effectiveness of the parameters to the computing result, the parameters are changed step by setp, and the results are compared to the standard results in flowerate and quality of the sewer. The study indicates that the discharge is greatly affected by the types of runoff surface, i.e., impervious area remarkably affects the peak flow and runoff volume while the surface storage affects the runoff volume at mild sloped basins. In addition, the major parameters affecting the pollution concentrations and loadings are the contaminant accumulation coefficient per unit area per time and the continuous dry weather days. Furthermore, the factors that affect the water quality during the initial rainfall period are the rainfall intensity, transport capacity coefficient and its power coefficient. Consequently, in order to simulate the runoff-water quality, it is needed to evaluate previous data in the research performed for the studied basins. To accurately estimated from the tributary areas and the rational computation methods of the pollutants calculation should be introduced.

Object Detection Method on Vision Robot using Sensor Fusion (센서 융합을 이용한 이동 로봇의 물체 검출 방법)

  • A mobile robot with various types of sensors and wireless camera is introduced. We show this mobile robot can detect objects well by combining the results of active sensors and image processing algorithm. First, to detect objects, active sensors such as infrared rays sensors and supersonic waves sensors are employed together and calculates the distance in real time between the object and the robot using sensor's output. The difference between the measured value and calculated value is less than 5%. We focus on how to detect a object region well using image processing algorithm because it gives robots the ability of working for human. This paper suggests effective visual detecting system for moving objects with specified color and motion information. The proposed method includes the object extraction and definition process which uses color transformation and AWUPC computation to decide the existence of moving object. Shape information and signature algorithm are used to segment the objects from background regardless of shape changes. We add weighing values to each results from sensors and the camera. Final results are combined to only one value which represents the probability of an object in the limited distance. Sensor fusion technique improves the detection rate at least 7% higher than the technique using individual sensor.
