The analytical solutions for the free vibration and buckling of cross -ply laminated composite cylindrical shell with the orthogonal stiffeners, i. e., axial stiffeners(stringers) and circumferential stiffeners(rings), are presented using the energy method. The stiffeners are assumed to be an integral part of the shell and have been directly included in analysis(it's called discrete stiffener theory). The effect of the parameters such as the stacking sequences, the shell thickness, the shell length-to-radius ratio are studied. By comparison with the previously published analytical results for the stiffened cylindrical shells, it is shown that natural frequencies can be determined with adequate accuracy.
The objective of this paper is to extend the use of the improved degenerated shell element to the linear and the large displacement analysis of plates and shells with laminated composites. In the formulation of the element stiffness, the combined use of three different techniques was made. This element is free of serious shear/membrane locking problems and undesirable compatible/commutable spurious kinematic deformation modes. The total Lagrangian approach has been utilized for the definition of the deformation and the solution to the nonlinear equilibrium equations is obtained by the Newton-Raphson method. The applicability and accuracy of this improved degenerated shell element in the analysis of laminated composite plates and shells are demonstrated by solving several numerical examples.

In the present paper, dynamic characteristics and vibration control performance of a cylindrical shell structure are experimentally investigated and results are presented in the air and underwater conditions. End-capped cylindrical shell structure is manufactured and macro-fiber composite(MFC) actuators are attached on the inside-surface of the structure. Modal characteristics are studied in the air and under the water conditions and then equation of motion of the structure is derived from the test results. Structural vibration control performances of the proposed structure are evaluated via experiments with optimal control algorithm. Vibration control performances are presented both in the frequency and time domains.

The Object of this paper which study for natural frequency of Offshore Wind Turbine Tower with Composite Material and Steel. The Composit Material Tower consist of shell type and stiffened shell type which is made by the method of Filament Winding. And the component of Composite material is used by the Roving RS220PE-535. The Steel Material Tower consist of shell type and stiffened shell type which is made of Mild steel. The Type of Stiffener is hats. This paper compare the Composit Material Offshore Wind Turbine Tower with the Steel Material Offshore wind Turbine Tower and study for Natural Frequency and Mode Shapes.
This paper deals with nonlinear asymmetric dynamic buckling of clamped laminated angle-ply composite spherical shells under suddenly applied pressure loads. The formulation is based on first-order shear deformation theory and Lagrange's equation of motion. The nonlinearity due to finite deformation of the shell considering von Karman's assumptions is included in the formulation. The buckling loads are obtained through dynamic response history using Newmark's numerical integration scheme coupled with a Newton-Raphson iteration technique. An axisymmetric curved shell element is used to investigate the dynamic characteristics of the spherical caps. The pressure value beyond which the maximum average displacement response shows significant growth rate in the time history of the shell structure is considered as critical dynamic load. Detailed numerical results are presented to highlight the influence of ply-angle, shell geometric parameter and asymmetric mode on the critical load of spherical caps.
Vibration analysis of embedded functionally graded (FG)-carbon nanotubes (CNT)-reinforced piezoelectric cylindrical shell subjected to uniform and non-uniform temperature distributions are presented. The structure is subjected to an applied voltage in thickness direction which operates in control of vibration behavior of system. The CNT reinforcement is either uniformly distributed or functionally graded (FG) along the thickness direction indicated with FGV, FGO and FGX. Effective properties of nano-composite structure are estimated through Mixture low. The surrounding elastic foundation is simulated with spring and shear constants. The material properties of shell and elastic medium constants are assumed temperature-dependent. The motion equations are derived using Hamilton's principle applying first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). Based on differential cubature (DC) method, the frequency of nano-composite structure is obtained for different boundary conditions. A detailed parametric study is conducted to elucidate the influences of external applied voltage, elastic medium type, temperature distribution type, boundary conditions, volume percent and distribution type of CNT are shown on the frequency of system. In addition, the mode shapes of shell for the first and second modes are presented for different boundary conditions. Numerical results indicate that applying negative voltage yields to higher frequency. In addition, FGX distribution of CNT is better than other considered cases.
The buckling equations of filament wound composite cylindrical shell are established. The coefficients $K_{ij}$ and $L_{ij}$ of the buckling equations are determined by solving the equations. The geometric analysis and the effective stiffness calculation for the fiber crossover and undulation region are respectively accomplished. Using the effective stiffness of the undulation region, the specific formulas of the coefficients ${K^{\prime}}_{ij}$ and ${L^{\prime}}_{ij}$ of the buckling equations are determined. Numerical examples of the buckling critical loads have been performed for the different winding angles and stacking sequences cylindrical shell designs. It can be concluded that the fiber undulation results in the less effect on the buckling critical loads $P_{cr}$. $P_{cr}$ increases with the thickness-radius ratio. The effect on $P_{cr}$ due to the fiber undulation is more obvious with the thickness-radius ratio. $P_{cr}$ decreases with the length-radius ratio. The effect on $P_{cr}$ due to the fiber undulation can be neglected when the ratio is large.
Any arbitrarily shaped laminated composite shells of revolution can be sum of the conical shell elements. Therefore, finite element model of conical shell element will be developed in this study. To verify consistency and validity of this model, natural vibrations of this model is compared with the analytical solution of cylindrical shell. Herein, an extensive parametric study is presented to assess the modeling capability of this model in class of laminated composite cylinders. It is seen that the proposed model provides highly accurate results with analytical solution. Once development of this conical shell element is done, any arbitrarily shaped composite shells of revolution can be easily analyzed.
It is a recent trend for advanced ships and submarines to incorporate composite structures with viscoelastically damping material. Much research has been done on curve-fitting techniquesto identify vibration characteristic parameters such as natural frequencies, modal damping ratios, and mode shapes of the composite structure. In this study, an advanced technique for accurately determining vibration characteristic of a circular cylindrical shell-attached viscoelastically damping material is used, based on a multi-degree of freedom (MDOF) curve-fitting method. First, an initial value is obtained by using a linear least square method. Next, using the initial value, the exact modal parameters of the composite circular cylindrical shell are obtained by using a nonlinear least square method. Results show computation time is greatly decreased and accurate results are obtained by the MDOF curve-fitting method.

Core-Shell polymers of silicone dioxide-styrene system were prepared by sequential emulsion polymerization. In inorganic/organic Core-Shell composite particle polymerization, silicone dioxide adsorbed by surfactant sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate (EU-DO133L) was prepared initially and then core silicone dioxide was encapsulated emulsion by sequential emulsion polymerization using styrene at the addition of potassium persulfate (KPS) as an initiator. We found that $SiO_2$ core shell of $SiO_2$/styrene structure was formed when polymerization of styrene was conducted on the surface of $SiO_2$ particles, and the concentration sodium dioctyl sulfosuccinate (EU-DO133L) was 0.5~2.0g. The structure of core-shell polymer were investigated by measuring to the thermal decomposition of polymer composite using thermogravimetric analyzer and morphology of latex by scanning electron microscope(SEM).
