  • Real time control (RTC) can be broadly defined as a system that dynamically adjusts the operation of facilities in response to online measurements in the field to maintain and meet the operational objectives, both during dry and wet weather conditions. RTC adds a dynamic component that is actively adjusted in real time based on system conditions. In terms of reducing or eliminating sewer flooding, CSOs and/or managing flows, implementation of RTC has various benefits to sewer system operation. It has been emerging as an attractive approach, but related elements (such as framework for the application, its components and equipments, aspects to be considered) towards its application on sewer systems have not been throughly introduced so far. The main goal of this study is to review several applications of RTC and firm guidelines published abroad, and finally to provide a framework for the proper application of RTC on sewer systems.

  • HCI(Human Computer Interaction) enables the interaction between people and computers by using a human-familiar interface called as Modality. Recently, to provide an optimal interface according to various devices and service environment, an advanced HCI method using multiple modalities is intensively studied. However, the multimodal interface has difficulties that modalities have different data formats and are hard to be cooperated efficiently. To solve this problem, a multimodal communicator is introduced, which is based on EMMA(Extensible Multimodal Annotation Markup language) and MMI(Multimodal Interaction Framework) of W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) standards. This standard based framework consisting of modality component, interaction manager, and presentation component makes multiple modalities interoperable and provides a wide expansion capability for other modalities. Experimental results show that the multimodal communicator is facilitated by using multiple modalities of eye tracking and gesture recognition for a map browsing scenario.

  • ebXML(Electronic Business using extensible Markup Language) is an XML based new international standard framework of the electronic business. Interoperability among mutually different industry fields can be realized by reusing core component, as a infrastructure of data. For this interoperability, it is needed to define the concrete concept of core component, through analyzing the role and applicability of the core component in business process which defines the interoperability among different companies. Therefore, in this paper, we Inquire the role of the core component in the ebXML, and implement the core component storage system which generates core component to register in registry/repository. The designed system for storing the core component generates suitable core component structure to register in registry/repositor), which can be used to generate new business information entity in a modeling step of business process.

  • We propose a new method particle-based method that explicitly preserves thin liquid sheets for animating liquids on CPU-GPU heterogeneous computing framework. Our primary contribution is a particle-based framework that splits at thin points and collapses at dense points to prevent the breakup of liquid on GPU. In contrast to existing surface tracking methods, the our method does not suffer from numerical diffusion or tangles, and robustly handles topology changes on CPU-GPU framework. The thin features are detected by examining stretches of distributions of neighboring particles by performing PCA(Principle component analysis), which is used to reconstruct thin surfaces with anisotropic kernels. The efficiency of the candidate position extraction process to calculate the position of the fluid particle was rapidly improved based on the CPU-GPU heterogeneous computing techniques. Proposed algorithm is intuitively implemented, easy to parallelize and capable of producing quickly detailed thin liquid animations.

  • The research of the variability gains more gravity in component-based software development, because it helps to extend the reusability of the component. A domain-specific component supports the more variability, the wider scope that the component can be applied to. However, the more variability included in a component, It makes the size of a component bigger, and the cost to construct the component is rises. As a result, this disturbs making an optimized system. In this paper, we classify the variability into 3 types, according to their features. And we propose some implementation techniques for each type based COM. Moreover, we also propose a process to analysis and design the variability with their artifacts, which includes some tasks from variability extraction to implementation of it. This proposed process can be applied as a part of the component developing process.

  • Ontology-based approaches for automated information integration are being widely investigated. The existing approaches explicitly represent the semantics of information sources in ontologies and let the computer system, through aligning or merging the source ontologies, provide a global view of information sources. The problem of aligning or merging different ontologies is a well known problem, and the inter-ontology mappings play an essential role in information integration. To enable simple and well-founded mappings , the ontologies of information sources should be modeled with the same world view and with the same manner of representation. This paper introduces an ontology modeling framework for component libraries, which is developed based on the Guarino's theory of upper ontology . This paper discusses the results of modeling ontologies of mold and die component libraries based on the framework. A Web-based implementation automatically merges the source ontologies.

  • In the object oriented methods, most of the objects are independent from the another. However to get their job done from the system's point of view, they must have some kind of connection established among them. This means that the cooperation among the objects through the interaction is just as important as the static side of the objects. Usually, checking for correctness, compatibility and reasoning of the objects is limited due to the fact that the interactions between the objects are expressed in the form of a line or a box. The reuse experts often claim that the design reuse is more important than code reuse, mostly because it can be applied in more contexts and so is more common. The composition of the objects is also considered as a very important definition in the area of framework which is generally known as a technique to support reuse at both the coding and the designing level. Therefore on this thesis, the composition of such objects has been studied to provide a formal means of evaluating the component's compatibility and better possibility for further improvement in the area of framework, by formalizing the component compositions using the LOTOS.

  • The user interface is the medium, which provides the users to have an access to the web-based information system. The user interface is the means of improving usability and accessibility for the user, as well as being the core component in the web-based information system. In this paper, the audit framework of the user interface was developed to upgrade the usability and accessibility; it was based on the three basic components of the current audit framework in the web-based information system. At the time of an audit, the UI process of the 'Analysis', 'UI Design', 'UI Production', and 'Test' was defined, which was analyzed through the web development methodology. Also, for the area of an audit, the 'Information', 'Design', and 'Technology' were defined by the analysis of the components that makes up the user interface, From the view of an audit, the standard criteria of an assessment were set as 'Usability', 'Accessibility', and 'Cross Browsing'. Through the framework that was proposed in this paper, practical audit applies the performed examples. By this, the efficiency of the proposed framework was verified.

  • This paper proves a new regularity criterion for solutions to the Cauchy problem of the 3D Boussinesq equations via one directional derivative of the horizontal component of the velocity field (i.e., (∂iu1; ∂ju2; 0) where i, j ∈ {1, 2, 3}) in the framework of the anisotropic Lebesgue spaces. More precisely, for 0 < T < ∞, if $$\large{\normalsize\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_o}^T}({\HUGE\left\|{\small{\parallel}{\partial}_iu_1(t){\parallel}_{L^{\alpha}_{x_i}}}\right\|}{\small^{\gamma}_{L^{\beta}_{x_{\hat{i}}x_{\bar{i}}}}+}{\HUGE\left\|{\small{\parallel}{\partial}_iu_2(t){\parallel}_{L^{\alpha}_{x_j}}}\right\|}{\small^{\gamma}_{L^{\beta}_{x_{\hat{i}}x_{\bar{i}}}}})dt<{{\infty}},$$ where ${\frac{2}{{\gamma}}}+{\frac{1}{{\alpha}}}+{\frac{2}{{\beta}}}=m{\in}[1,{\frac{3}{2}})$ and ${\frac{3}{m}}{\leq}{\alpha}{\leq}{\beta}<{\frac{1}{m-1}}$, then the corresponding solution (u, θ) to the 3D Boussinesq equations is regular on [0, T]. Here, (i, ${\hat{i}}$, ${\tilde{i}}$) and (j, ${\hat{j}}$, ${\tilde{j}}$) belong to the permutation group on the set 𝕊3 := {1, 2, 3}. This result reveals that the horizontal component of the velocity field plays a dominant role in regularity theory of the Boussinesq equations.
