  • BOM(Bill of Materials) is a listing or description of raw materials, parts, and assemblies that define a product. In order to evaluate the performance of proposed BOM management system, which is very important to maintenance information system of urban transit. We develop component based BOM data and rule-set to design data structure that is mutually independent and integrated efficiently. It divides data whit management interface using component technology. The component based master BOM have advantage in database size and flexibility. Flexibility is measured as the number of updating records in accordance with added new product or engineering change. In database size, component based BOM is the best. we develop master BOM management system in web environment.

  • BOM(Bill of Materials) is a list or description of raw materials, parts and assemblies that define a product. Although it is very important for maintenance information system of urban transit, it has problems that the size of database, inaccuracy and the flexibility which is measured as the number of updating records in accordance with added new product or engineering change. To solve these, we divide BOM to a master BOM and various function BOM constructed from the master BOM. That is the component based BOM management system, which is mutually independent and integrated efficiently using component technology. Consequently, after defining the component based master BOM, it is easy to manage the data structure, even restruct, in case there is a need for change of environment or data.

  • This paper tries to implement BOM calculation effectively by sharing the data in CAD management system and BOM systems. For this purpose, a component-based software system in this thesis was implemented by using CAD drawing systems. It can be found from this research that errors happened were reduced sharply. Especially, the BOM calculation period was cut from 2 weeks to 2days, and at the same time, the correct rate achieved 95%. Moreover, there are some following effects of our implemented system: First of all, because component development method was adopted in this paper, it makes program easy to reuse, to keep/maintenance as well as modify. Second, long-distant management is possible by using web-based development method. Third, data management is made effective by constructing image and tort database. Fourth drawing management is systemized, Finally, the system is suitable for companies.

  • Bill Of Materials(BOM) is the technique document on illuminating the product structure and used to demonstrate the relationship and structure between the final product, sub-products, parts and materials. This paper implemented BOM system for need parts production that is need in production of finished goods that is display stand that is made by steel. After implementation the BOM system, there are changing of the corporation, which applied this system: (1) contraction by 2 weeks to 2 days of the time to calculate parts required for products (2) accuracy improvement of calculation for amounts parts required (3) contraction of business organization.

  • In order to provide economic high-quality products to customers in a timely manner, companies have tried much effort to decrease the time period of engineering design and information management. As a part of this effort, we have developed the Drawing Information Management System(DIMS) based ofn GT(Group Technology) that could decrease design processing time by speedy and rational management of design processes. The characteristics of DIMS are as follows: First, the concept of Concurrent Engineering was applied to DIMS. Through LAN, reviewers are able to attach comments to dlectronic documents by anno- tation functions called Mark-up. The reviewer annotations are collected and combind with the original document to revise the documents. Second, we have developed a Classification and Coding(C&C) system suitable for electronic component parts bassed on GT(Group Technology). The C&C system makes both parts and drawing with similar characteriscs into families and helps users search existing documents or create new drawings promptly. Finally, DIMS provides the Engineering BOM(Bill of Material) using the concept of Family BOM based on model options.

  • Modular BOMs are typically used in TWO-Level Master Production Schedule. To solve the problems of Modular BOM generation and efficient DB construction, we proposed Value Clustering Method. Based upon Where-Used matrix of products and components, VCM is the method to find out module by generating product family group value, product value, and component value. We also proposed method to find out information about Modules, algorithms to find out Modules that show Alternative Usage Pattern, and method to find out Modules used in a given product. We also compared the DB creation method by Value Clustering Method and by conventional method. We compared the size of DB in both methods. We mathematically proved that the proposed method is doing better as the size and complexity of product family gets larger and more complicated.

  • In this paper, we develop a facility management system which provides fault effect and replacement alarm function of each component for supporting effective maintenance of facility. To do this, we use weighting method to each component, calculate importance of each component, and make them to hierarchy structure using bill of materials of facility. Also, we draw fault cause and fault effect of components based on failure modes effects and criticality analysis, and define criteria of severity, occurrence and detection to get risk priority number. To apply these concepts, we develop and test the facility management system to verify its practicality. In the future, we expect the developed system to apply many domains such as maintenance of ship and offshore plant.

  • This paper is concerned with the generation and use of modular BOM, which is typically utilized in representing product configurations for two-level master production schedule. A method called VCM (Value Clustering Method) is proposed to build modular BOMS. We adopted a where-used matrix to represent part-product relationships. VCM is a method that can identify modules of components based on the where-used matrix. The method uses product family group value, product value, and component value. This can facilitate retrieving information about modules, finding out alternative usage pattern of components, and recognizing modules used in a particular product.

  • Mapping brain structural and functional connections through the whole brain is essential for understanding brain mechanisms and the physiological bases of brain diseases. Although region specific structural or functional deficits cause brain diseases, the changes of interregional connections could also be important factors of brain diseases. This review will introduce common neuroimaging modalities, including structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI (fMRI), diffusion tensor imaging, and other recent neuroimaging analyses methods, such as voxel-based morphometry, cortical thickness analysis, local gyrification index, and shape analysis for structural imaging. Tract-Based Spatial Statistics, TRActs Constrained by UnderLying Anatomy for diffusion MRI, and independent component analysis for fMRI also will also be introduced.

  • One of the important applications in Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) systems is the Manufacturing Resource Planning(MRPII) system using Bill of Material(BOM). The manufacturing resource planning determines the quantity and timing of the production or purchase of subassemblies and raw materials needed to support the Master Production Scheduling(MPS). The bill of material is the recipe, a list of the materials needed to make a product. This paper intends to suggest a component-based materials management system using Unified Modeling Language(UML), as an application system for automobile part industry. Applying component based materials management systems designed with UML methodology, we analyzed the workflow and the document on materials management process from production planning to inventory management, and implemented a prototype of efficient materials management system, as a surrogate of existing material requirement planning(MRPI) system. To produce many other assemblies for a automobile part firm, component parts are assembled into subassemblies that are joined to assemble the finished product. Through the system suggested in this study, the level of inventory has cut down and the cost of inventory management has decreased. Also, the development method using UML makes the analysis and design phase to shorten in implementation period of MRPII system. The implementation of materials management system using CBD shows the ease of use in software reuse and the interoperability with corporate Internal information system. The result of applying object-oriented CBD technique is to minimize the risk of life cycle and facilitate the reuse of software as mentioned to limitation of information engineering methodology.
