  • `SOS', Simulator Of Safety assessment for fire, was developed to simulate fire safety assessment for a structure which is geometrically complex. The program(SOS) is intended to use for searching as well as designing tools to analyse the evacuation safety through a wide range of structure conditions. The computer program has a function which importing FDS's calculating results to each individual resident in the structure. These attributes include a walking speed reduction by producing visibility reduction for each person on the fire. $A^*$ pathfinding algorithm is adopted to calculate the simulation of escape movement, overtaking, route deviation, and adjustments individual speeds in accordance with the proximity of crowd members. This SOS program contributes to a computer package that evaluates the fire safety assessment of individual occupants as they walk towards, and through the exits especially for building, underground spaces like a subway or tunnel.

  • In many studies, mathematics anxiety (MA) is a major factor affecting students' mathematical achievement (MC) and is reported to have a greater negative effect on female students. In the study, we developed a complex treatment program consisting of 10 lesson units, to reduce mathematic anxiety and applied it to 26 male and female students with high MA. For this purpose, we analyzed the differences between the two gender groups collected by the Math Anxiety Scale for Students(MASS) and Mathematical Achievement Scale(MCS) before and after. As a result of the treatment program, MA was decreased in both groups, but only female students scored higher in MC. The program that had been effective for both boys and girls in MA satisfied the main purpose of which was to treat MA with integrated mathematical and psychological aspects, and implied that additional procedures and guidance should be followed for boys' MC.

  • A series of highly efficient red phosphorescent heteroleptic iridium(III) complexes 1-6 containing two cyclometalating 2-(2,4-substitued phenyl)quinoxaline ligands and one chromophoric ancillary ligand were synthesized: (pqx)$_2Ir$(mprz) (1), (dmpqx)$_2Ir$(mprz) (2), (dfpqx)$_2Ir$(mprz) (3), (pqx)$_2Ir$(prz) (4), (dmpqx)$_2Ir$(prz) (5), (dfpqx)$_2Ir$(prz) (6), where pqx = 2-phenylquinoxaline, dfpqx = 2-(2,4-diflourophenyl)quinoxaline, dmpqx = 2-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)quinoxaline, prz = 2-pyrazinecarboxylate and mprz = 5-methyl-2-pyrazinecarboxylate. The absorption, emission, electrochemical and thermal properties of the complexes were evaluated for potential applications to organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). The structure of complex 2 was also determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Complex 2 exhibited distorted octahedral geometry around the iridium metal ion, for which 2-(2,4-dimethoxyphenyl)quinoxaline N atoms and C atoms of orthometalated phenyl groups are located at the mutual trans and cis-positions, respectively. The emission spectra of the complexes are governed largely by the nature of the cyclometalating ligand, and the phosphorescent peak wavelengths can be tuned from 588 to 630 nm with high quantum efficiencies of 0.64 to 0.86. Cyclic voltammetry revealed irreversible metal-centered oxidation with potentials in the range of 1.16 to 1.89 V as well as two quasi-reversible reduction waves with potentials ranging from -0.94 to -1.54 V due to the sequential addition of two electrons to the more electron-accepting heterocyclic portion of two distinctive cyclometalated C^N ligands.

  • Public construction projects need complex and multi-functional management skill, since the most of public construction projects are comprised of multi-project and mega-projects. In order to effectively manage construction projects, PMIS is widely used. However the majority of the current PMIS have been developed as a single project-oriented business management system. Thus compatibility problems are encountered during the process of integrating the entire systems to manage the multi-complex projects. In addition, the form of orders applying BIM are increased recently, but the research and development of BIM based PMIS are still lacking. In this study, therefore, the functions of PMIS main objectives based on the analysis of PMIS As-Is and To-Be of PMIS, the dual management system utilizing Internet and Intranet will be proposed to integrate the individual PMIS with Integrated Program Management System. Rather than combining commercial BIM tool and PMIS directly, which is the common method of failure, the sequential process model to adopt BIM based PMIS is also explained. Step-by-step development method of BIM based PMIS is suggested to prepare for the activation of BIM technology in the nearest future.

  • Objective: The major histocompatibility complex in chicken demonstrates a great range of variations within varities, breeds, populations and that can eventually influence their immuneresponses. The preset study was conducted to understand the major histocompatibility complex-B (MHC-B) variability in five major populations of Bangladesh native chicken: Aseel, Hilly, Junglefowl, Non-descript Deshi, and Naked Neck. Methods: These five major populations of Bangladesh native chicken were analyzed with a subset of 89 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the high-density MHC-B SNP panel and Kompetitive Allele-Specific polymerase chain reaction genotyping was applied. To explore haplotype diversity within these populations, the results were analyzed both manually and computationally using PHASE 2.1 program. The phylogenetic investigations were also performed using MrBayes program. Results: A total of 136 unique haplotypes were identified within these five Bangladesh chicken populations, and only one was shared (between Hilly and Naked Neck). Phylogenetic analysis showed no distinct haplotype clustering among the five populations, although they were shared in distinct clades; notably, the first clade lacked Naked Neck haplotypes. Conclusion: The present study discovered a set of unique MHC-B haplotypes in Bangladesh chickens that could possibly cause varied immune reponses. However, further investigations are required to evaluate their relationships with global chicken populations.
