  • Since offline contact becomes a strong differentiator as online market expands, the shopping mall calls for more complex and diverse tenant combinations and deployment plan strategies. There is, however, few practical research and causal verification of Tenant Mix, i.e., the combination and placement of tenant and users' behavior, has been conducted which is a key factor in spatial configuration. In practice, Tenant Mix is limited in prediction of consumption behavior of customers by the MD planners's experience and depends only on qualitative arbitrary plan. The purpose of this study is to find out the interrelationship between the spatial configuration and the users' behavior of Tenant Mix in shopping mall, and to present an objective basis in MD planning. According to the analysis, it was possible to know that there are differences in the relationship between the spatial configuration and the users' behavior dependent on the Tenant Mix, which is the space planning of shopping mall. It was also possible to find out the characteristics and differences in the users' behavior which is dependent on the spatial configuration for each tenant. Through this study, it was possible to know the impact of space organization on the users' behavior and the interrelationship between the use's behavior and spatial configuration by tenant together with their characteristics. We prove that the current MD planning has limitation due to lack of objective research on the combination and arrangement of space in the commercial space and only done empirically. This analysis can show the practical plan of combination and placement of tenant which is emphasized in complex and larger shopping malls, and contribute to the revitalization of shopping mall by better use of tenant.

지각적-인지적 판단과 감정적 판단에 따른 복잡성과 선호도의 관계 - 상업공간의 실내디자인을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationships between Complex and Preference by Perceptual-cognitive and Affective Judgement - Focused on the Commercial Interior Design -)

  • Design is inseparably related to aesthetics. In spite of that, it is difficult to explain the precise aesthetic variables that affect the aesthetic value of space or environment. Therefore, this study intended to find the relationships between aesthetic variables by perceptual and affective judgement for space design with focus on complexity and preference variables. The research found low level of 'arousing' as well as high levels of affective dimension variables 'pleasant' and 'relaxing' evoked high preference. High preference also appeared in space design cases with high unity, order, and clarity with low contrast and complexity, which are variables of perceptual dimension. Complexity, one variables of preference by Kaplan, is in an inverse proportion to space preference. Thus, space design with high complexity has high level of 'exciting' and 'arousing' affective responses and relatively low level of 'relaxing' response. Additionally, it was confirmed that the most importantly influential factor on complexity was diverse components rather than visual richness and ornamentation.

레저용 플로팅건축물 설계를 위한 국내 마리나클럽 현황 및 공간구성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Present Condition and Spatial Organization of Domestic Marina Club to Design Leisure Floating Architecture)

  • 마리나클럽을 중심으로 한 마리나는 앞으로 예상되는 해양관광 및 해양레포츠 수요에 대비한 필수적인 시설이다. 국내 여건을 반영하여 마리나와 마리나클럽은 요트수용 대수를 기준으로 한 규모와 프로그램에 따라 레포츠소형, 복합소형, 레포츠중형, 복합중형, 레포츠대형, 복합대형의 6가지 유형으로 구분할 수 있다. 서울마리나, 아라마리나, 전곡마리나 등 3개의 국내 마리나클럽을 분석한 결과 마리나전용 시설과 상업시설의 공간 비율은 평균 21% : 79% 로 나타났다. 단기적으로는 현재의 공간 구성을 유지하는 방향으로 복합형 마리나클럽 계획이 우선 시 될 것으로 예상되며, 장기적으로는 마리나전용시설 비율이 높은 레포츠형 마리나클럽으로 전환될 것으로 보인다. 또한 플로팅 마리나클럽은 해양관광 및 해양레포츠 체험을 극대화하는 친수공간 확보에 매우 유리하다.

전기집진에서의 난류 입자 이산 (Turbulent Particle Dispersion Effects on Electrostatic Precipitation)

  • Industrial electrostatic precipitation is a very complex process, which involves multiple-way interaction between the electric field, the fluid flow, and the particulate motion. This paper describes a strongly coupled calculation procedure for the rigorous computation of particle dynamics during electrostatic precipitation. The turbulent gas flow and the particle motion under electrostatic forces are calculated by using the commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) package FLUENT linked to a finite-volume solver for the electric field and ion charge. Particle charge is determined from both local electrical conditions and the cell residence time which the particle has experienced through its path. Particle charge density and the particle velocity are averaged in a control volume to use Lagrangian information of the particle motion in calculating the gas and electric fields. The turbulent particulate transport and the effects of particulate space charge on the electrical current flow are investigated. The calculated results for poly-dispersed particles are compared with those for mono-dispersed particles, and significant differences are demonstrated.

  • Turner and Penn (1) from UCL have proved that Visibility Graph Analysis (VGA) can be used as a more accurate method to predict the pedestrian distribution in building spaces. However, this methodology neglects certain elements that are of special influence on pedestrian distribution in buildings, especially the entrances and exits. Based on Space Syntax, this dissertation improves on the traditional method of Visibility Graph Analysis, using three shopping centers in Shenzhen as examples, attempts to explore a new parameter - "attenuation index of pedestrians at the entrances and exits" - using relevant data of the entrances and exits of the three cases, and combines it with traditional VGA analysis through weighted calculation, in order to provide more accurate predictions of pedestrian patterns in shopping centers.

  • The concept of food and beverage space in modern society is changing into complex space where various experiences are provided. With the increase of food service brands, those brands are getting standardized. Providing more differentiated experience and service became an element of competition to companies. The flagship stores among stores presented by companies have much influence on promotion and sales. Thus, it would be necessary to provide integrated service by adopting service design process for the differentiated design of such experiential space. The objective of this study is to examine the satisfaction of service design of food and beverage flagship stores. By creating a checklist to evaluate the space through the theoretical consideration of flagship stores and service design, the satisfaction of service design of food and beverage flagship stores was analyzed. Through the survey with users of the case space, it was possible to check the satisfaction of the service design elements applied to the food and beverage flagship store space. The satisfaction with service design was evaluated through the 5point scale. When the average point was high, the satisfaction with service design elements was high. In the results of the analysis, regarding the spatial composition of flagship stores, the overall interior/exterior atmosphere should contain the image of the company. As flagship stores compose space that can express various event space and company itself on top of the space for sales, they should present the spatial composition differentiated from other general commercial spaces. The significance of a study on service design of flagship stores is to show positive effect on flagship store space. In the future, it would be necessary to have comparative analysis on domestic and foreign cases applied with the service design process, and also to analyze the strategies in the aspect of service design.

  • This article explores an extended sense of autonomy in contemporary architecture activated through the practice of fashion, by taking architect Rem Koolhaas' work Prada Epicenter in New York as a case. In doing so, it argues that throughout the work Koolhaas sets up a world in which the corporate and the individual are entangled together in complex ways. Instead of considering Prada Epicenter to be the exemplar illustrating that the global company-Prada-institutionalizes the designed commercial space in a top-down manner, this article claims that such a space imbricates a multiplicity of meaning that is generated at the intersections of the local and the global, the ordinary and the spectacular, and the individual and the institutional. In this respect French philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky's fashion theory works as a critical point: his claim that the ambivalence of fashion-both as corporate power and individual freedom-is a threshold encouraging us to better understand the operativity of late capitalism in daily life is extended to Koolhaas' case. In other words, Koolhaas' Prada Epicenter brings forth possibilities that the ostensibly technocratic and institutionalized space in fact works as a resillient field where senses of individual autonomy arise in the aid of corporative practice of branding.

  • 최근 대형쇼핑몰이 들어서며 변화의 과정에서 과다하고, 원칙과 기준에서 벗어난 임대료 인상으로 많은 선의의 임차인들이 피해를 보는 경우도 다수 발생하고 있으며, 경쟁 입찰로 인한 임대시장의 교란을 초래하여 왜곡을 유발하고 있어 적정 임대료 산정에 대한 연구 분석이 시급히 요구되고 있는 실정이다. 이와 같은 상황으로 볼 때 현재 활용되고 있는 길별 기준가격과 주요 거점과의 관계, 보행량을 감안한 임대료를 산정한다면 앞으로 임대료 분쟁에 큰 도움이 될 수 있으리라 판단된다.

모델 스틸하우스 방문자의 주거가치관 분석 (A Study on Housing Value Orientation of Model Steel House Visitors)

  • This study was designed to find tendencies of housing value orientation of the model steel house visitors. Questionnaires were collected in June, 1997, 1,550 in total, 508 cases from Seoul, 456 cases from Pohang, and 486 cases from Kwangyang. Data were analyzed in terms of housing value orientation, using statistical methods including frequencies, mean, percentages, chi-square test and multiple regression. The major findings are as follows; 1. The subjects were highly educated(64% of them were college graduates) with the monthly income over 2,000,000won(approximately $1,540). The average monthy income of the subjects in Seoul, about 4,000,000won($3,070), was much higher than that of other areas. Most of the subjects were condominium owners(72%), who preferred single detatched houses or town houses located in suburban areas. 2. Differences in general tendencies among the three regional groups were statistically significant. Most significantly, subjects living in Pohang regarded the reputation of the building construction company most importnat. Subjects of all three regional areas, especially in Pohang, emphasized investment value. The price of the steel house was regarded as very important by all the groups tested. The housing value orientation was analyzed in 3 aspects; (1) Facility.Plumbing.Structure(FPS), (2) Interior space formation.Design(ID) and (3) Developmental complex.Near Environment(DN). Interior environment level, stability of house structure, and finighing state of interiors were identified as the important factors in the area of FPS(p<.05). The Interior plan organization was the most important factor among ID. As for DN, rated importantly were educational facilities, green areas, convenience of commercial facilities within the developmental complex were rated importantly.

  • 본 연구는 개인의 길찾기 능력이 방문자태도에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 선행 문헌을 분석하여 길찾기와 길찾기 능력에 대해 살펴보았으며, 이러한 길찾기의 능력이 장소에 대한 방문자들의 태도와 어떠한 관계성이 있는 가를 확인하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 이용자들의 길찾기 능력은 이용만족도에 부분적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 이용자들의 길찾기 능력은 재방문의도에 부분적으로 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 셋째, 이용자들의 길찾기 능력은 추천의도에 부분적으로 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 마지막으로, 이용자들의 이용만족도는 재방문의도 및 추천의도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 이상의 본 연구결과는 지하상업시설물이 갖는 공간구조상의 특성을 감안한 지상과는 다른 형태의 커뮤니케이션 디자인이 필요하다는 것, 특히 복합상업시설물이 갖는 서비스 공간의 주요 사항을 고려한 마케팅 전략이 필요하다는 실무적 의의를 갖는다고 할 수 있다.
