  • We study the uniqueness question of transcendental meromorphic functions that share three values CM in some angular domains instead of the whole complex plane. The results in this paper extend the corresponding results in Zheng [13, 14] and Yi [12]. Some examples are given to show that the results in this paper, in a sense, are the best possible.

  • As the dynamics model for industrial robot is a mutural coupling of inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, etc it is very difficult to get solution to the question how it works. To control such complex non-linear features of the manipulator, it is required to develop a lot simpler algorithm on the real time.

Intepretation of Faradaic Impedance for Corrosion Monitoring

  • A polarization resistance is generally used to estimate the corrosion rate in the corrosion monitoring by an electrochemical impedance method. When the Faradaic impedance has a time constant due to the reaction intermediate, the electrochemical impedance describes more than one loop on the complex plane. For example, the electrochemical impedance of iron in acidic solution shows capacitive and inductive loops on the complex plane. In this case, the charge transfer resistance and the polarization resistance are determined at middle and low frequency ranges, respectively. Which should be selected for corrosion resistance in corrosion monitoring, the charge transfer resistance or the polarization resistance'? In the present paper, the above-mentioned question is examined theoretically and experimentally.

  • Let K be an imaginary quadratic field with ring of integers ${\mathcal{O}}_K$. Let E be an elliptic curve with complex multiplication by ${\mathcal{O}}_K$, and let $h_E$ be the Weber function on E. Let $N{\in}\{2,3,4,6\}$. We show that $h_E$ alone when evaluated at a certain N-torsion point on E generates the ray class field of K modulo $N{\mathcal{O}}_K$. This would be a partial answer to the question raised by Hasse and Ramachandra.

  • In the history of mathematics education, different opinions as to how to view the phenomenon of mathematics education have been suggested in various ways. As those conflicting opinions have caused fundamental tensions in the phenomenon of mathematics education, they remain fundamental standpoints that have been continuously advocated until now - not limited in a certain period. It can be argued that this situation was caused by partial or fragmentary understanding of the phenomenon of mathematics education. If we are pursuing not a partial knowledge but a complete understanding of mathematics education, how should it be formed to comprehensively study the entire phenomenon of mathematics education? To answer this question, Complex structure in phenomenon of Mathematics Education can be proposed. It is an explanation for the opposing opinions existing in the phenomenon of mathematics education. The purpose of this paper is to understand the phenomenon of mathematics education as a whole.

  • Nowadays, the interest of aerospace and automotive industries on virtual testing of medium-frequency vibrational behavior of shallow shell structures is growing. The development of software capable of predicting the vibrational response in such frequency range is still an open question because classical methods (i.e., FEM, SEA) are not fully suitable for the medium-frequency bandwidth. In this context the Variational Theory of Complex Rays (VTCR) is taking place as an ad-hoc technique to address medium-frequency problems. It is a Trefftz method based on a weak variational formulation. It allows great flexibility because any shape function that satisfies the governing equations can be used. This work further develops such theory. In particular, orthotropic materials are introduced in the VTCR formulation for shallow shell structures. A significant numerical example is proposed to show the strategy.

  • The society of intelligence-information complex is a fresh world that connects things, knowledge and calculation with human. What is the condition of educational reform in this world? Robinson and Aronica(2015) suggest educational reform at the center of organic agriculture, in which they focus on the dignity of human as an organic being. Human consists in an intelligence and a life. We have to ask to ourselves what is the human in this Age. The development of AI represented by deep-learning will be an actual condition in the educational reform. In the other hand, the combination with an information technology and art rises a question about a life itself. So, we have to ask the question seriously that overlap what is the human and what is a life. Two questions about human and a life cast a philosophical paradox in the age of AI.

Complex sample design effects and inference for Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data (국민건강영양조사 자료의 복합표본설계효과와 통계적 추론)

  • Nutritional researchers world-wide are using large-scale sample survey methods to study nutritional health epidemiology and services utilization in general, non-clinical populations. This article provides a review of important statistical methods and software that apply to descriptive and multivariate analysis of data collected in sample surveys, such as national health and nutrition examination survey. A comparative data analysis of the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) was used to illustrate analytical procedures and design effects for survey estimates of population statistics, model parameters, and test statistics. This article focused on the following points, method of approach to analyze of the sample survey data, right software tools available to perform these analyses, and correct survey analysis methods important to interpretation of survey data. It addresses the question of approaches to analysis of complex sample survey data. The latest developments in software tools for analysis of complex sample survey data are covered, and empirical examples are presented that illustrate the impact of survey sample design effects on the parameter estimates, test statistics, and significance probabilities (p values) for univariate and multivariate analyses.

The Study on the Complex Causation of Loss in Marine Insurance (해상보험(海上保險)에서의 복합인과관계(複合因果關係)에 관한 연구(硏究))

  • The purpose of this paper is to consider how to decide the cause of loss or damage to the transport goods when maritime accident occurs. In marine insurance, the underwriter is liable for any loss or damage proximately caused by a risk insured(MIA Art.55). So it is very important to determine the proximate cause of loss or damage to ascertain whether it is to be recoverable under the policy. But there is no definite conception or rule what is the proximate cause. It was left to the tribunal as a question of fact. In this paper, I will suggest the general rules to determine the proximate cause of loss or damage of the transport goods in marine insurance. First, in MIA 1906, there is the rule of proximate causation and it has been established the effective causation by cases since 1918. Second, in Institute Cargo Clauses(B) & (C), there are rules of considerably relaxed standards to determine the causation of loss of or damage using the "attributable to" and "caused by" basis. Third, it is noted, under the complex causation situation, there are difference basises to decide the liability of underwriters between the case of successive occurrence of single risk and the case of concurrent occurrence of several risks. Forth, in practice, it couldn't be ascertained the underwrier's liability by a definite rule and it should be fully considered the circumstances and conditions of the loss.

Evaluation of Design Issues and the Social Perceptions of the Asian Culture Complex, South Korea

  • This study aims to understand and analyze the social recognition and debate shown during the progress of the Asian Culture Complex (ACC) public project as well as the environmental evaluation performed by provincial community members. A 30-question survey based on a Likert scale was conducted with 150 experts. The study showed, first, that despite controversies over landmarks and historical locations, the quality of the architect's first draft was considered fairly high. However, vibrant landmarks were greatly desired. Furthermore, respondents reported conflicting recognitions of the same concept, which were defined differently depending on the terms and concepts used by the architect. Second, historical locations were considered important. The architects' final design was modified based on quality and in response to social pressure, resulting in the partial retention of the provincial government annex building. Although the first draft was considered to be of high quality, the modified plan was considered even better than the original design, revealing the 2-fold characteristics of the identical phenomenon in the environmental evaluation. Third, many groups held opinions that were balanced between the architects' originality and the value of community-based recognition; hence, the social inclination and evaluation of the project differed across the public.
