  • Skyline extraction in mountainous images which has been used for navigation of vehicles or micro unmanned air vehicles is very hard to implement because of the complexity of skyline shapes, occlusions by environments, dfficulties to detect precise edges and noises in an image. In spite of these difficulties, skyline extraction is avery important theme that can be applied to the various fields of unmanned vehicles applications. In this paper, we developed a robust skyline extraction algorithm using two-scale canny edge images, topological information and location of the skyline in an image. Two-scale canny edge images are composed of High Scale Canny edge image that satisfies good localization criterion and Low Scale Canny edge image that satisfies good detection criterion. By applying each image to the proper steps of the algorithm, we could obtain good performance to extract skyline in images under complex environments. The performance of the proposed algorithm is proved by experimental results using various images and compared with an existing method.

  • We formed silver nanocrystallites by the thermal decomposition of a $Ag^{+1}$-oleate complex, which was prepared by a reaction with $AgNO_{3}$ and sodium oleate in a water solution. The resulting monodispersed silver nanocrystallites were produced by controlling the temperature (290$^{\circ}$C). Transmission electron microscopic (TEM) images of the particles showed a 2-dimensional assembly of the particles with a diameter of $9.5{\pm}0.7nm$, demonstrating the uniformity of these nanocrystallites. An energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectrum and X-ray diffraction (XRD) peaks of the nanocrystallites showed the highly crystalline nature of the silver structure. We analyzed the decomposition of the $Ag^{+1}$-oleate complex using a Thermo Gravimetric Analyzer (TGA) and observed the crystallization process using XRD.

  • This paper is foundation paper about national wind map verification using remote sensing, based on analysis of comparison between numerical simulation and remote sensing on complex coastal area of regional coast. As a result analysis using NCAR/NCEP, wind direction of numerical simulation and remote sensing is same. but, wind direction of some case is showed different. Such as this result, if it would be used without verification of analyzed data, present ability of occurring lots of error, and it will be verified based on using survey data or atmospheric data.

  • Silver nanoparticles have been synthesized by liquid-phase and alcohol reduction methods. Silver-doped silica-complex nanoparticles were prepared using a sol-gel process. The formation, structure, morphology, and particle size of the nanoparticles have been studied using several techniques. Silver nanoparticles of size of 30-40 nm were formed successfully by alcohol reduction. TEM images show that both the concentration and the molecular weight of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) considerably affect the size of the emerging silver nanoparticles. The number of silver-doped silica-complex particles increased by a mercapto-group treatment that showed a narrower size distribution than that of silica treated with amino groups. The silver/polyester and silver-doped silica/polyester masterbatch chips showed excellent antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.

  • In this paper we present a facial region detection algorithm for real-time image with complex background and various illumination using spatial and temporal methods. For Detecting Human region It used summation of Edge-Difference Image between continuous image sequences. Then, Detected facial candidate region is vertically divided two objected. Non facial region is reduced using Analysis of Major Color Component. Non facial region has not available Major Color Component. And then, Background is reduced using boundary information. Finally, The Facial region is detected through horizontal, vertical projection of Images. The experiments show that the proposed algorithm can detect robustly facial region with complex background various illumination images.

  • Deploying sensors into a target region is a key issue to be solved in building a wireless sensor network. Various deployment algorithms have been proposed by the researchers, and most of them are evaluated under the ideal conditions. Therefore, they cannot reflect the real environment encountered during the deployment. Moreover, it is almost impossible to evaluate an algorithm through practical deployment. Because the deployment of sensor networks require a lot of nodes, and some deployment areas are dangerous for human. This paper proposes a deployment approach to solve the problems mentioned above. Our approach relies on the satellite images and the Virtual Force Algorithm (VFA). It first extracts the topography and elevation information of the deployment area from the high resolution satellite images, and then deploys nodes on them with an improved VFA. The simulation results show that the coverage rate of our method is approximately 15% higher than that of the classical VFA in complex environment.

  • Digital images are corrupted by noises, during signal acquisition and transmission. Amount those noises, additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and impulse noise are most representative. The conventional image restoration algorithms are mostly taken in simple noise environment, but they didn't perform very well in tempter noises environment. So a modified image restoration algorithm, which can remove complex noises by using the intensity differences and spatial distances between center pixel and its neighbor pixels as parameters, is proposed in this paper. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can't only remove AWGN and impulse noise separately, but also performs well in preserving details of images as edge.

  • In general, stereo images are widely used to remote sensing or photogrametric applications for the purpose of image understanding and feature extraction or cognition. However, the most cases of these stereo-based application deal with 2-D satellite images or the airborne photos so that its main targets are generation of small-scaled or large-scaled DEM(Digital Elevation Model) or DSM(Digital Surface Model), in the 2.5-D. Contrast to these previous approaches, the scope of this study is to investigate 3-D stereo processing and visualization of true geo-referenced 3-D features based on anaglyph technique, and the aim is at the prototype development for stereo visualization system of complex typed 3-D GIS features. As for complex typed 3-D features, the various kinds of urban landscape components are taken into account with their geometric characteristics and attributes. The main functions in this prototype are composed of 3-D feature authoring and modeling along with database schema, stereo matching, and volumetric visualization. Using these functions, several technical aspects for migration into actual 3-D GIS application are provided with experiment results. It is concluded that this result will contribute to more specialized and realistic applications by linking 3-D graphics with geo-spatial information.

  • Human face detection is often the first step in applications such as video surveillance, human computer interface, fare recognition, and image database management. We have constructed a simple and fast system to detect frontal human faces in complex environment and different illumination. This paper presents a fast segmentation method to combine neighboring pixels with similar hue. The algorithm constructs eye, mouth, and boundary maps for verifying each fare candidate. We test the system on images in complex environment and with confusing objects. The experiment shows a robust detection result with few false detected fates.

  • In this paper, a new method of the 3D(dimensional) image reconstruction is proposed to build up the 3D image from 2D images using digital image processing techniques and computer graphics. First, the new feature extraction algorithm that doesn't need various input parameters and is not affected by threshold is adopted This new algorithm extracts feature points by eliminating some undesirable points on the ground of the connectivity. Second, as the cast function to reconstruct surfaces using extracted feature points, the minimum distance measure between two plane images has been adopted According to this measure, the surface formation algorithm doesn't need complex calculation and takes the form of triangle or trapezoid To investigate usefulness, this approach has been applied to a head CT image and compared with other methods. Experimental comparisons show that the suggested algorithm yields better performance on feature extraction than others. In contrast with the other methods, the complex calculation for surface formation in the proposed algorithm is not necessary.
