  • This study was carried out to identify the effects of an art therapy program based on reality therapy on the weight control, body image, and self-esteem of college students. The program was developed by the authors. The design was a pretest-post test control group design. The subjects were college students attending M college : 8 in experimental group A, 6 in experimental group 2, who wanted to control their body weight and 16 in the control group who didn't attend the program those in the experimental group attended the program once (group A) or twice (group B) per week meeting a total of six times. The data were analyzed by quantity method (SPSS 10.0 program) and quality method(process analysis). The results were as follows : 1. The average obesity index of pre-test, post-test, and a follow-up test decreased from 8.9% to 6.1%, 3.7%. And the rate of decrease both pre-post and post-follow up were statistically significant 2. The average obesity index of group A decreased from 9.6% to 6.3%, 4.1% and the rate of decrease between pre and post were statistically significant. But the rate of decrease between post and follow-up were statistically not significant 3. The average obesity index of group B decreased from 7.8% to 5.8%, 3.1% and the rate of decrease between pre and post were not significant statistically. But the rate of decrease between post and follow-up were statistically significant 4. The average scores of pre and post body image increased and were statistically significant : group A from 129.0 to 153.5, group B from 127.7 to 155.2. 5. The average scores of pre and post semantic differential method increased and were statistically significant: group A from 38.1 to 44.1, group B from 38.0 to 45.0. 6. The average scores of pre and post self-esteem increased: group A increased from 37.3 to 40.3 and were statistically significant, group B increased from 36.5 to 39.5 but was statistically insignificant 7. The average scores of pre and post obesity rate, body image, semantic differential method and self-esteem in the control group were not statistically significant 8. The pre and post scores of body image(p=.001), semantic differential method(p=.001) and self-esteem(p=.039) between experimental and control group were statistically significant. 9. In Duncan multiple comparison, it was not statistically significant between group A and B, but statistically significant between group A and the control group, group B and the control group in obesity index, body image, semantic differential method. There was no statistically significance among the three groups in self esteem 10. In Duncan multiple comparison, group A gained higher scores than group B in obesity index(-1.2%), and self esteem(0. 3). Group B gained higher scores than group A in body image(3. 0), and semantic differential method(1. 0). So it is difficult to conclude whether group A or B is more effective. In conclusion, the art therapy program based on reality therapy was effective in weight the control program of college students: obesity was decreased, the scores of body image and semantic differential method and self-esteem were increased. The scores of group A were increased more than group Band were statistically significant, The time interval was a very important factor in this program. The recommendation is : the validity of this program has to be tested through various subjects and in various areas. And also this program has to be tested in other topics.

  • We established a thermodynamic framework of group contribution method based on modified double lattice (MDL) model. The proposed model included the long-range interaction contribution caused by the Coulomb electrostatic forces, the middle-range interaction contribution from the indirect effects of the charge interactions and the short-range interaction from modified double lattice model. The group contribution method explained the combinatorial energy contribution responsible for the revised Flory-Huggins entropy of mixing, the van der Waals energy contribution from dispersion, the polar force, and the specific energy contribution from hydrogen bonding. We showed the solvent activities of various polymer solution systems in comparison with theoretical predictions based on experimental data. The proposed model gave a very good agreement with the experimental data.

  • A mathematical model for the analysis of roll gap phenomena in strip temper rolling process is described. The mechanical peculiarities of temper rolling process, such as high friction value and non-circular contact arc, low reduction and non-negligible entry and exit elastic zones as well as central restricted deformation (preliminary displacement or sticking) zone etc., are all taken into account. The deformation of work rolls is calculated with the influence function method and arbitrary contact arc shape is permitted. The strip deformation is modeled by slab method and the entry and exit elastic deformation zones are included. The restricted deformation zone near the neutral point is also considered. The concept and the calculation method of limiting preliminary displacement are used to determine the length of the central restricted deformation zone. The comparison of the model results with the measured mill data is also made.

  • How to generate the precise broad group cross section is important for the fast reactor design. In this study, a fast reactor multi-group cross-section generation code MGGC2.0 are developed in-house for processing ultrafine group MATXS format library. Validation and verification are performed for MGGC2.0 code by applying the benchmarks of ICSBEP handbook, and the results of MGGC2.0 agree well with that of MCNP. The consistent PN method with critical buckling search is in good agreement that condensed with TWODANT flux and flux moment for the inner core and outer core region. For the radial blanket and reflector, two region approximation method has been applied in MGGC2.0 by using collision Probability Method neutron flux solver. The RBEC-M benchmark was used to verify the power distribution calculation, and the relative error of power distribution comparison with the reference are less than 0.8% in the fuel region and the maximum relative error is 5.58% in the reflector region. Therefore, the precise broad cross section can be generated by MGGC2.0 for fast reactor.

  • Dentin surface of non-carious lesion is usually attached with oral biofilm. The biofilm should be removed before application of restorative material, because it may reduce the bond strength of adhesive system. The aim of this study was to evaluate the microtensile bond strength, when the biofilm was removed with brush or bur. Twenty extracted human third molars were sectioned horizontally to obtain dentin surface. Specimen were divided randomly into four group. Biofilm formation was performed in three group, except for Group 1 (negative control). Biofilm was removed as follows: Group 3, using ICB brush; Group 4, using lowspeed round bur #2. Group 2 (positive control) was not removed Biofilm. And in all four groups, the adhesive system (Optibond FL, Kerr) was applied to etched dentin surface, and resin composite was built up in three 1mm increments. After 24 hour storage in distilled water, the teeth were perpendicularly sectioned to obtain beams (1 × 1 mm2). Microtensile bond strength was measured and the data were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc test (p<0.05). Group 4 showed the highest microtensile bond strength (p<0.05), Group 3 showed no significant improvements when compared to Group 1. Group 2 showed lowest microtensile bond strength (p<0.05). When restoring a non-carious cervical lesion, it is essential to remove the biofilm present on the dentin surface. In addition, in the method of removing the biofilm, both the brush removal method and the bur removal method were effective.

  • In this paper, the proprioceptive sensitivity was compared by Foot-Hand task method and the effect of the proprioceptive sensitivity and auditory to the standing position between blind and normal children was measured using BPM for 56 children in 7, 8, 9 and 10 years old. There are three measurement methods are used for BPM : Rest, Forward Looking, 'Sound' position. The following conclusions were obtained from the above measurements. 1. In comparison of proprioceptive sensitivity between blind and normal children, there is no significant difference(p > .05). There is no significant difference in comparison of each age group and also there is no difference in each gender group(p > .05). 2. In comparison of standing position measurement between blind and normal children, there is any difference (p > .05) in three measurement(Rest, Forward Looking, 'Sound' position) but there is no significant difference in each gender difference(p > .05). There is any difference between Rest and 'Sound' position of blind children, also there is any difference between Forward Looking and ' Sound ' position, rest and 'Sound' position of normal children(p > .05). 3. There is no significant difference of correlation between proprioceptive sensitivity test and standing position measurement in Pearson correlation coefficient(p > .05).

  • To compare the quality of ultrastructural preservation of Scanning Electron Microscopic specimens dried with different methods; pure air-drying, air-drying with using Tetramethylsilane(TMS), four kind of air-drying using Hexamethyldisilazane(HMDS) and critical point drying(CPD), we conducted scanning electron microscopic observation on liver, skeletal muscle and intestinal tissues from laboratory rat treated with each method. In pure air drying group, severe distortion of tissue surface was observed, and in HMDS treated group, only liver tissue showed slight distortion. But in TMS treated group, each tissue showed a good presentation comparable to CPD group. The results suggest that the method of air-drying using TMS may be the former is less expensive and simple be and also time-saving.

  • This paper proposes a new method for planning randomized clinical trials. This method is especially suited to comparison of a best standard or control treatment with an experimental treatment. Patients are allocated into two groups by a random or chance mechanism. Patients In the first group receive standard treatment; those in the second group are asked if they will accept the experimental therapy; if they decline. they receive the best standard treatment. In the analyses of results. all those in the second group. regardless of treatment. are compared with those in the first group. Any loss of statistical efficiency can be overcome by Increased numbers. This experimental plan is indeed a randomized clinical trial and has the advantage' that, before providing consent, a patient will know whether an experimental treatment is to be used.
