Business Strategies and Innovation for Survival During the COVID-19 Pandemic: Evidence from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Indonesia

  • MSMEs encountered several issues during the COVID-19 pandemic, including decreased sales and capital, difficulties in distribution, trouble obtaining raw materials, decreased production, and employee layoffs. These issues posed a threat to the national economy. The final effect was the company's bankruptcy as a result of its failure to survive a pandemic, which led to the company's downfall. This research aims to find out and analyze MSMEs' business strategy and innovation to maintain their business during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. This research is qualitative. Researchers got data using interviews, observation, and documentation. The analysis of this research is descriptive. To draw customers during the COVID-19 pandemic, MSMEs use social media or digital marketing, followed by the delivery of orders, promotions, or discounts and the creation of freebies. MSMEs develop new products as part of their ongoing efforts to expand their businesses while upholding standards for quality, value, and customer service. They also adapt to changing consumer tastes and popular food trends while showcasing some of their most intriguing products.

  • 본 연구는 기술협력의 중요한 동기인 '학습' 관점에서 기업이 다양한 파트너 유형과 협력하는 것이 혁신성과에 도움이 되는지, 그리고 이 관계에서 학습에 영향을 줄 수 있는 흡수역량(absorptive capacity)과 전유성(appropriability)의 조절효과를 분석하였다. 다양한 협력 파트너와 협력하는 것은 다양한 파트너가 가진 지식, 정보를 습득한다는 점에서 혁신성과에 긍정적인 효과를 줄 것이라고 가정하였다. 또한, 학습을 촉진하는 흡수역량은 파트너 다양성과 혁신성과 간의 관계를 긍정적으로 조절하고, 보유한 기술을 보호하려는 수단인 전유성은 파트너로부터의 학습을 저해하는 요인으로 작용할 수 있기 때문에 다양한 파트너와 협력하는 제휴 포트폴리오와 혁신성과 간의 관계에서 흡수역량과 전유성의 조절효과를 분석하였다. 2010년 기술혁신조사 제조업 부문 데이터 중에서 우리나라 주력 산업인 기계 자동차 업종을 대상으로 실증 분석을 한 결과, 다양한 유형의 기술협력 파트너와 협력하는 것은 혁신성과에 긍정적인 영향을 주고, 전유성의 조절 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

중국현지기업의 사회자본이 지적자본과 기업의 혁신활동에 미치는 영향 (Impact of Social Capital on the Intellectual Capital & Innovation Activities of China Local Companies)

  • The social capital of an organization is recognized as the origin of the knowledge capital creation, and it becomes the mechanisms which explain the interaction of members or which accelerate the behavior of the members to attain the goal of an organization (Park, 2001; Jang et al., 2011). Lots of researches show that this causal relationship empirically exists. Social capital and knowledge capital of an organization are one of the most important competitive advantages that a company needs. They are also the main dynamic drivers of the innovation activity. This study analyzes the relationship and examines the impact and role of an organization's social capital on intellectual capital and innovation activities in an organization. In other words, the main purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of social capital on the intellectual capital and innovation activities of, in particular, China local companies. This study empirically analyzed the survey data collected from the employees of the companies located in China. Our empirical results of this study showed that social capital has significantly causal effects on intellectual capital partially and also showed the intellectual capital has significantly positive effects on the innovation activities partially.

벤처·중소 ICT 기업의 디지털 생태계에서의 글로벌 경쟁력 요인 연구 (A Study of the Competitive Factors of ICT Venture and SMEs in the Global Digital Ecosystem)

  • Recently, in the bio-field success stories of ventures through a biosimilar technology is being excavated. but the growth of ICT industry has been stagnant since reaching a boom in the dissemination of early high-speed internet in 2000s. The purpose of this study is to explore the factors of change of business model and business strategy of ICT ventures and SMEs with the evolution of the digital ecosystem, and to drive the factors to be competitive on the global value chain. The researcher selected an entreprenuership, market-innovation orientation, technology-innovation orientation, and Administration-innovation orientation as internal factors influencing the global competence and healthiness of the ecosystem as external factors. The researcher applied samples of 94 ICT Venture and SMEs to a research model, and adopted 5 hypotheses. The researcher believes that only a few hypotheses were adopted because it takes time for overall innovation orientation of ICT Venture and SMEs to result in the real global competence as the their innovation orientation is still on the level of domestic market. And the researcher also thinks that only healthiness of the ecosystem affected management performances because the companies' performances of the last 3 years were so weak that the correlation between innovation orientation of each company and the performances were not big enough.

The Effect of Creative Potential on Innovation Behavior: focusing on Design Thinking

  • Purpose: The purpose of study is to examine the effects of design thinking-based programs on creative potential, creativity and innovation behavior, as well as the mediating effect of creative potential and creativity. Research design, data and methodology: The study was conducted through a four-step process. First, the previous studies were investigated. Second, a total of three experts were reviewed to improve and supplement the program. Third, a workshop-based design thinking program was conducted four times. Fourth, the effectiveness of the program was reviewed through data analysis. Results: The design thinking-based program was found to have a statistically positive effect on creative potential, creativity, and innovation behavior. As another hypothesis of this study, by applying the design thinking-based program, it was statistically confirmed that creative potential has a direct, indirect effect, and a mediating effect on innovation behavior. Conclusions: These results provide usability for design thinking in terms of direction for creativity-based creative problem solving and innovation. Finally, design thinking can be used to develop and utilize new services and discover new ideas, especially improve the competitiveness of the company. In addition, it means that the level of innovation action can vary depending on the level of the individual's creative potential.

주물 산업의 수익력 극대화를 위한 생산부문의 TPI 최적화 연구 (A Optimizing Study on maximizing the earning power of casting industry production through TPI)

  • The production type of foundry industry is a small quantity batch production methods that require the highly skilled technology in the global competition in the variety of customer needs and directly under the influence of fluctuations characteristic. Therefore suitability for small quantity batch production and flexible production capacity and price competitiveness is needed more than anything. To do this, we need transcription and comprehensive innovation activities to maximize the revenue structure of the organization and field survival foundation should be developed the TPI(Total Profit Innovation) process in all aspects of the organization and all employees are involved in order to create a cost, quality, time, and service part of the overall aim how to achieve those effects within a short period of time. We applied the TPI process for S company in the foundry business innovation and productivity through cost reduction. We will expect the productivity improvement and financial performance improvement and then continually accumulate and review the results.

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 강원도 중소기업들이 기업경쟁력을 높이기 위해 실시하고있는 품질경영 방안에 대해 연구하였다. 연구결과 강원도에 위치한 중소기업에서 실시하고있는 활동은 고객 중심의 품질경영과 자동화, 신기술, 공정개선을 위한 활동 및 ISO 9000인증 획득에 많은 관심을 갖고 있으며, 다음으로 5S에 의한 공장합리화${\cdot}$제안제도에도 관심을 두고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 대상인 기업은 고객 만족을 위한 제품/서비스를 제공함으로써 경쟁회사보다 시장성 우위를 확보하고, 가격경쟁력을 확보하려 노력하고 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

산업재산권 및 혁신역량이 성과에 미치는 영향: 벤처기업확인제도 혜택을 중심으로 (Impact of Industrial Property Rights and Innovation Capabilities on Performance: Focusing on Venture Firm Confirmation System)

  • 최근에도 벤처기업의 창업 지원과 그에 따른 성과가 증가함에 따라 벤처기업의 투자규모는 계속 증가하고 있다. 정부도 이를 지원하기 위해 다양한 정책의 일환으로 벤처기업확인제도를 운영하고 있다. 다양한 연구에서 벤처기업확인제도는 기업의 성과 향상을 위해서 실질적인 도움을 주고 있다고 분석하고 있다. 하지만 벤처기업확인제도만으로 성과에 영향을 주는지에 대한 확인이 필요하다. 본 연구는 벤처기업을 대상으로 혁신역량 및 산업재산권이 벤처기업확인제도를 매개로 하여 재무성과, 기술력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구를 통해 이론적 연구모형을 개발하고자 하였다. 다음 가설을 검증하였다. 첫째, 벤처기업의 혁신역량인 개발역량, 제조역량, 마케팅 역량, 원가우위 수준, 고부가가치화 수준, 비즈니스모델의 명확화 정도, 비즈니스모델의 혁신 정도는 벤처기업확인제도에 유의미한 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 벤처기업의 산업재산권인 국내 산업재산권 보유건수, 해외산업재산권 보유건수, 국내 출원 중 산업재산권, 해외 출원 중 산업재산권은 벤처기업확인제도에 유의미한 영향을 주지 못한다. 셋째, 벤처기업확인제도의 혜택인 기술개발 촉진, 광고효과, 세제해택, 우수인력확보, 자금 조달 및 투자유인, 정부지원제도 참여 유리, 규제완화 등은 벤처기업의 재무적인 성과인 매출액, 영업이익, 당기순이익과 기술력 수준에 유의미한 영향을 준다는 것을 확인하였다. 끝으로, 연구개발유형의 벤처기업을 제외하고는 혁신역량, 산업재산권은 벤처기업확인제도를 매개로 재무성과 기술력에 유의미한 영향을 주지 못한다는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구의 시사점으로는 기업의 혁신역량이 부족한 상황에서는 벤처기업확인제도의 수급정도가 약하다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서, 벤처기업확인제도의 혜택을 향상시키기 위해서는 기업의 역량이 높은 기업 위주로 벤처기업확인제도 혜택을 운영할 필요가 있다. 다음으로 산업재산권이 벤처기업확인제도와는 관련이 없다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서, 벤처기업확인제도 인증에 중요한 사항으로 산업재산권을 고려할 필요는 없을 것이다. 끝으로, 벤처기업확인제도의 혜택을 받는 정도가 높을수록 기업의 성과, 기술력이 증가하다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서, 벤처기업확인제도의 혜택을 통해 성과나 기술력을 향상 시킬 수 있는 방향으로 벤처기업확인제도를 활용할 수 있도록 노력해야겠다.

  • This study compares the reasons why targe and Small companies are adopting electronic commerce(e-commerce) based on an assumption of difference between two groups of companies. We collected data for contemporaneous analysis by classification with two groups of companies in Korea and developed an integrated model from the empirical studies and made Question papers for inspection of created hypothesis. Hypothesis is composed with nine factors ; Customers, Suppliers, Pertner Firms, Competitors, Relative Advantage, Cost Compatibility, CEO's Innovativeness and CEO's Involvement. The research shows Large company is influenced significantly by Customers, Relative Advantage, Cost, CEO's Innovativeness and Small company is by Competitors, CEO's Involvement.

  • The Internet industry is developing at a high speed and entering the stage of convergence of everything, in which mobile devices are a key part, and smartphone manufacturing enterprises are developing rapidly in this environment. As one of the smartphone manufacturing enterprises that have dominated the Chinese smartphone market for many years, OPPO enterprise has developed rapidly and occupied a large share of the smartphone market. As a globally renowned technology company, its unique organizational culture is behind its success. In this study, through the analysis of OPPO's information and related literature, we found that OPPO's organizational culture has the characteristics of emphasizing teamwork, focusing on innovation, and advocating customer first. This organizational culture not only enhances employees' sense of belonging, but also promotes the company's long-term development. This study is not only important for understanding OPPO's success, but also for other companies to construct and optimize their organizational culture.
