This study investigated the effects of dietary Ptecticu tenebrifer powder and canned mixtures on protein digestibility by different breeds of companion dogs (15 Bichons, 15 Malteses, 15 Chihuahuas and 15 Poodles). The mixtures were divided into Diet A, Diet B, Diet C, Diet D, and Diet E, which were supplied from five farms. Twenty-five grams each was mixed with 100 g of each canned food, and a total of 125 g was measured for each breed of dog. The result of component analysis of the mixtures showed the highest protein contents rather than dry matter, crude ash or crude fat. There were statistical significances (p<0.05) in all mixed feeds fed to bichon, maltese, chihuahua and poodle dog. Overall, protein digestibility by the breeds of dog ranged from 87.44% to 97.18%. Result of breed of dog comparison revealed that Diet E by poodle dog had the highest protein digestibility, and the lowest protein digestibility was observed in Diet C by Maltese. In conclusion, the use of dietary Ptecticu tenebrifer powder and canned mixtures did not only increased protein digestibility by different breeds of dog but also maintained normal manure properties.

This study aims to develop a multi-functional cage for dogs as a house to reduce their anxiety when they go out using cages. This study investigates the types and characteristics of cages and cage preference by surveying men and women in their 20s who use them. The cage product reviews are also analyzed. The research results are as follows: First, domestic dog cages are classified into crate, shoulder, cross (sling bag), backpack, carrier, and stroller types. The crate type is easy to clean and can be used as a house, but it is bulky and therefore inconvenient to carry when using public transportation. The shoulder type is a fabric material with good air permeability but has the disadvantage of being easily soiled. It can be used as a house and is light weight, making it convenient when using public transportation. Second, as a result of consumer research, respondents prefer the shoulder-type fabric over the crate-type plastic material. Third, from the shoulder-type product review, the shape stability, companion dogs' psychological safety, the wearability of companions, and management convenience are derived. Fourth, based on the survey results, a multi-functional cage is developed taking into account the companion dog, companion person, and functional factors.

Background: Exercise is necessary for the health of companion dogs. It is necessary to determine the relationship between height, weight, age and amount of exercise for the purpose of companion dog's health. Objectives: A survey was conducted in this study to small-dog owners living in Yongin city, Gyeonggi-do about their canine healthcare awareness. Design: Questionnaire design. Methods: The questionnaire was composed of exercise amount, type of exercise, and the necessity of exercise, general health condition, and environment. A total of 139 survey results were obtained. The average value of each item was analyzed and expressed in terms of frequency and percentage. Then, Pearson's correlation coefficients were used to find the relationship between these items. Results: The weight and height were not shown to have a significant difference in the amount of exercise in the results. The weight had a weak positive correlation with "exercise time of canine per day". The age had a weak negative correlation with "the number of canine exercise per week" and "frequency of canine exercise per day", while it had a weak positive correlation with "self-assessment of canine lack of exercise". Conclusion: Based on this study, it is believed that in the future, various environments where dogs can exercise are believed to be necessary for the era of convergence.

본 연구는 인터넷을 통하여 반려견 식품을 구매하는 소비자의 반려견을 위한 지출 품목 및 비용, 반려견 푸드 선택 시 고려사항 등을 조사하였다. 성별로는 남성 39명(6.8%) 여성 532명(93.2%)으로 반려견 식품을 구입할 때 대부분 여성들이 인터넷 구매를 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 견주 연령대로는 20대 이하 184명(32.2%), 30대 241명(42.2%), 40대 이상 146명(25.6%)로 나타났다. 반려견의 연령을 보면 3세 이하가 200(35%)이고, 8세 이상 202(35.4%), 4~7세 169(29.6%)으로 나타났다. 반려견을 위한 구매빈도 주기는 1달 이상 주기로 구매한다고 가장 많이 답하였으며, 구매 식재료 중에서는 닭고기를 가장 많이 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 월지출비용에서도 10만원 미만이 가장 높게 나타났으며, 반려견 푸드 주요 구입처로는 반려견 전문 온라인 쇼핑몰, 그 다음으로는 동물병원에서 구입한다고 하였다. 건강기능 향상을 위해서는 피부·모질개선을 가장 중요하게 여기고 있으며 그 다음으로 치아 뼈 형성, 소화력 개선 순으로 나타났다. 반려견 푸드 선택 시 전제품의 영양성분을 가장 고려할 사항이라고 여겼으며 그 다음으로는 인지도가 있는 브랜드 제품, 색·냄새·형상, 기능개선제품, 제품의 가격 순으로 나타났다. 따라서 반려견 푸드 신제품을 개발할 때는 전제품의 영양성분 뿐만 아니라 브랜드 제품, 색·냄새·형상, 영양밸런스, 기능개선제품, 제품의 가격 등을 고려해야 할 것으로 보여진다.

The present study aimed to examine the effect of dietary Ptecticu tenebrifer powder mixtures as pet dogfeed ingredients on crude fat and ash digestibility. Three groups of feeds Feed A, Feed B, and Feed C supplied from three farms were fed to a total of 45 dogs. The dietary Ptecticu tenebrifer powder mixture were prepared by mixing 25 g of Ptecticu tenebrifer powder with 100 g of canned food. Feed A, Feed B, and Feed C containing dietary Ptecticu tenebrifer powder mixtures were fed to 15 dogs of each breed of bichon, poodle, and chihuahua that were divided into three groups following a completely randomized design. For measuring the crude fat and crude ash digestibility, manure of each dog breed from each group were collected. Crude fat digestibility was not statistically significant among the dog breeds fed with feed C (p>0.05), but overall there was a statistical difference between the feed and the group by dog breed (p<0.05). In terms of crude ash digestibility, the three types of feed showed differences with respect to dog breeds (p<0.05). However, the group with no significant difference was observed in Feed B by dog breed (p>0.05). In conclusion, feeding Ptecticu tenebrifer powder mixture to dog breeds had no positive effect on the crude fat and ash digestibility and can be used as pet dogfeed ingredients.

우리나라의 경우 반려동물을 사육하는 가구가 점점 많아지는 경향이고, 특히 반려견이 사람을 물어 사상(死傷)을 입히는 인신사고가 자주 발생하고 있다. 이는 미국에서 소위 '개물림(Dog-bite) 사고'라고 지칭되는 인신사고이다. 개물림 사고는 피해자에게 상당한 신체적 정서적 피해를 입히는 심각한 공중 보건의 문제이자 지역사회에도 측정하기 어려운 숨은 비용을 양산하게 된다. 우리나라도 이러한 개물림 사고에 대하여 동물보호법, 민법, 형법을 통하여 규율하고 있다. 특히 2018. 3. 20. 동물보호법의 일부개정을 통하여 맹견의 견주 등에게 강화된 주의의무와 처벌에 관한 법제를 마련하기도 하였다. 한편 미국의 일부 주에서는 이러한 현상을 반영하여 개물림 사고에 대하여 단일법에서 개 혹은 동물의 유형, 손해의 형태, 손해의 배상범위, 책임 인정의 범위 등에 관한 세부사항을 규율하고 있다. 본고에서는 개물림 사고에 관한 다양한 법제를 지니고 있는 미국 일부주의 법제 현황을 검토하여, 우리나라의 법제와 비교 분석하고자 한다. 이를 통하여 우리나라의 개물림 사고에서 특히 견주의 책임에 대한 현행법에서의 문제점이 무엇인지 및 그 보완을 위한 대책으로서는 어떠한 것이 있는지 등을 검토해보고자 한다.

This paper aimed to provide the basic data on consumers' awareness, behavioral patterns, and purchase methods for pet fashion(dog clothes). Research was conducted in April 2023 among 183 college students from universities in the Gyeonggi-do region. The analysis results are presented below. When asked if they think clothes are a daily necessity for dogs, 74.3% recognized clothes as a daily necessity for dogs. The biggest purpose of clothing for dogs was 'physical health (prevention of cold/heat, etc.)' with 60.1%. 96.7% of the respondents were very positive about the development prospects for the pet fashion industry. 46.4% of the subjects were currently living with a dog, and 30.6% of the subjects have lived with a dog for 'less than 1-3 years'. 93.0% of college students who live with a dog own dog clothes. As for the dog's clothing style, T-shirt styles without a slit were the most common at 33.6%. 81.0% of companion dog owners were found to dress their dogs when going out, and the most common reason was 'physical health (prevention of cold/heat, etc.)' at 76.6%. When purchasing dog clothes, 72.2% of the subjects considered 'fitting with the dog/convenience', and 27.8% were 'focusing on the companion's taste'. As for how to purchase dog clothes, 39.2% chose 'store visits and online purchases', 34.2% chose 'store visits and purchases', and 26.6% chose 'online purchases'. As for the most considered part when purchasing clothes for dogs, 51.9% identified 'design' and 39.2% identified 'material'. 80.7% of respondents said they would increase the purchase of dog clothes in the future.

최근 반려동물 시장 규모가 커짐에 따라 반려동물 관련 사회적 문제도 대두되고 있다. 대표적으로 반려견 물림 사고, 유기견 문제, 안락사, 동물 학대 등이 있다. 대안으로 반려동물 관련 방송, 교육 앱 등 다양한 방식의 훈련 프로그램이 제공되고 있지만, 무엇을 먼저 가르쳐야 할지 모르는 초보 보호자들에게는 그리 효율적이지 못하다. 비교적 접근성이 용이한 훈련 앱이 다수 배포됐지만, 아직 사용자가 직접 훈련을 체험하며 익히는 방식의 앱은 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 유니티 엔진을 활용해 더욱 효율적인 AR 기반의 반려견 훈련 모바일 앱을 제안한다. 사용성 평가 결과, 기존에 부재했던 요소의 추가로 사용자들 흥미도는 증대했고, 훈련 몰입감까지 제고되어 학습 효과가 향상됐다. 향후 개발 및 양산 검증까지 거쳐 배포된다면 반려동물 입양 계획을 세운 초보 보호자나 기존 보호자들에게 효과적인 훈련 앱이 될 것으로 기대된다.

Rapid urbanization and social development have brought about changes in family structure. In urbanized areas, recently the number of dogs that are a majority of companion animals has increased significantly in Korea. Consequently, a lot of friction between the general public who are not fond of dogs and dog owners in public places such as parks has been happening. A lot of countries that are taking a lead role in animal welfare have built dog parks that the general public and dogs can enjoy together. This research starts with the realization that the concept of 'dog park' needs to be introduced in Korea as more and more Koreans own dogs and other pets. This research aims to provide guidance for dog park planning by drawing planning items and analyzing the needs of each item. Total 56 planning items including dog zone, dog playground, and dog training facility, are drawn in this research. There are differences in the needs according to sex, age and the amount of time they spent with their dogs, however overall there is the highest needs in separated area for dogs in parks.

반려동물에 대한 사회적 인식이 변화되면서 반려동물에 대한 문화적 태도가 친화적으로 바뀌고 있다. 특히, 반려견은 오래전부터 인간과 친숙하고 밀접하게 생활해오고 있다. 이러한 변화의 시대속에서, 반려견에 대한 이해도를 향상시키고 유기견 방지 및 생명 존중의 인식이 증가하면서 반려견 및 견주에 대한 동반 건강 유지를 위한 다양한 서비스가 활용되고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 반려견의 산책용 자동 리드줄에 IoT 서비스 및 응용 기술이 연동시킨 스마트 리드줄을 구현하였다. 이를 위해, 이기종 센서들을 연계하여 통합 모듈로 설계, 구현하고 반려견 리드줄에 연동시켜 스마트 반려견 리드줄을 개발하였다. 최종적으로, 스마트 반려견 리드줄을 통해 반려견주의 생체 신호를 실시간으로 수집하고 반려견의 위치를 파악하여 알림 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있는 시스템을 구현하였다. 이를 통해, 올바르고 친숙한 애견문화를 더욱 성장시킬 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.
