In this letter, we propose a compact CORDIC processor for implementation of carrier frequency synchronization block in an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system. The compact CORDIC processor is proposed by using inherenct properties of an OFDM system for estimation and compensation of carrier frequency offset, and is composed of a compact CORDIC preprocessor and a compact CORDIC processor. The compact CORDIC preprocessor plays a role of normalizing input signal efficiently, and the compact CORDIC processor is proposed to perform the vectoring mode and rotational mode jointly in CORDIC operation for carrier frequency synchronization. It is shown by FPGA implementation that the proposed compact CORDIC processor can achieve better performance with a significantly reduced hardware complexity than the conventional CORDIC approach.

Every closed subset of a compact topological space is compact. Also every compact subset of a Hausdorff topological space is closed. It follows that compact subsets are precisely the closed subsets in a compact Hausdorff space. It is also proved that a topological space is maximal compact if and only if its compact subsets are precisely the closed subsets. A locale is a categorical extension of topological spaces and a frame is an object in its opposite category. We investigate to find whether the closed sublocales are exactly the compact sublocales of a compact Hausdorff frame. We also try to investigate whether the closed sublocales are exactly the compact sublocales of a maximal compact frame.
In this paper, we study on C-closed spaces, SC-closed spaces and related spaces. We show that a sequentially compact SC-closed space is sequential and as corollaries obtain that a sequentially compact space with unique sequential limits is sequential if and only if it is C-closed [7, 1.19 Proposition] and every sequentially compact SC-closed space is C-closed. We also show that a countably compact WAP and C-closed space is sequential and obtain that a countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) WAP-space with unique sequential limits is sequential if and only if it is C-closed as a corollary. Finally we prove that a weakly discretely generated AP-space is C-closed. We then obtain that every countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) weakly discretely generated AP-space is $Fr\acute{e}chet$-Urysohn with unique sequential limits, for weakly discretely generated AP-spaces, unique sequential limits ${\equiv}KC{\equiv}C-closed{\equiv}SC-closed$, and every continuous surjective function from a countably compact (or compact or sequentially compact) space onto a weakly discretely generated AP-space is closed as corollaries.

We study the mid-infrared (MIR) properties of galaxies in compact groups and their environmental dependence using the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer data. We use a sample of 670 compact groups and their 2175 member galaxies with $M_r$ < -19 and 0.01 < z < 0.0741 from Sohn et al. (2016), which were identified through a friends-of-friends algorithm. We find that the MIR [3.4]-[12] colors of early-type galaxies in compact groups are on average bluer than those of early-type galaxies in clusters. Furthermore, we find that when compact groups have both early- and late-type member galaxies, the MIR colors of the late-type galaxies in those compact groups can be bluer than those of late-type galaxies in clusters. We also find that as background galaxy number densities of compact groups increase, compact group galaxies have higher early-type galaxy fractions and bluer MIR colors. These trends are also seen for background galaxies. However, at a given background density, compact group galaxies always have higher early-type galaxy fractions and bluer MIR colors than the background galaxies. Our findings suggest that the properties of compact group galaxies depend on both internal and external environments of the compact groups, and that galaxy evolution is faster in compact groups than in clusters.

Dynamical analysis of compact groups provides important tests of models of compact group formation and evolution. By compiling 2066 redshifts from FLWO/FAST, from the literature, and from SDSS DR12 in the fields of compact groups in , we construct the largest sample of compact groups with complete spectroscopic redshifts in the redshift range 0.01 < z < 0.22. This large redshift sample shows that the interloper fraction in the compact group candidates is ~ 42%. A secure sample of 332 compact groups includes 192 groups with four or more member galaxies and 140 groups with three members. The fraction of early-type galaxies in these compact groups is 62%, higher than for the original Hickson compact groups. The velocity dispersions of early-and late-type galaxies in compact groups change little with groupcentric radius; the radii sampled are less than 100 h−1 kpc, smaller than the radii typically sampled by members of massive clusters of galaxies. The physical properties of our sample compact groups include size, number density, velocity dispersion, and local environment; these properties slightly differ from those derived for the original Hickson compact groups and for the DPOSS II compact groups. Differences result from subtle differences in the way the group candidates were originally selected. The abundance of the compact groups changes little with redshift over the range covered by this sample. The approximate constancy of the abundance for this sample is a potential constraint on the evolution of compact groups on a few Gigayear timescale.
In this paper, we investigate some properties of countably g-compact and sequentially GO-compact spaces. Also, we discuss the relation between countably g-compact and sequentially GO-compact. Next, we introduce the definition of g-subspace and study the characterization of g-subspace.

This paper presents the new Compact 2D ADI-FDTD(Alternating-Direction Implicit Finite-Difference Time-Domain) method, where the time step is no longer restricted by the numerical stability condition. This method is an accelerating algorithm for the conventional Compact 2D FDTD method. To validate this algorithm, we have analyzed the dispersion characteristics of the hollow rectangular waveguide and the shielded microstrip line. The results of the proposed method are very well agreed with those of both the conventional analytic method and the Compact 2D FDTD method. The CPU time for analysis of this method is very much reduced compared with the conventional Compact 2D FDTD method. The proposed method is valuable as a fast algorithm in the research of dispersion characteristics of the waveguide structures.

This paper presents the new Compact 2D Haar-wavelet-based MultiResolution Time-Domain method (MRTD) as an accelerating algorithm for the conventional Compact BD Finite-Difference Time-Domain method (FDTD). To validate this algorithm, we analyzed the dispersion characteristics of the hollow rectangular waveguide and dielectric slab-loaded rectangular waveguide. The results of the proposed method are very weal agreed with those of both the conventional analytic method and the Compact 2D FDTD method. The CPU time for analysis of this method is reduced to about a half of the conventional Compact 2D FDTD method. The proposed method is valuable as a fast algorithm in the research of dispersion characteristics of waveguide structures.

In this paper, we consider comonotonically additive compact set-valued functionals instead of interval-valued functionals and study some characterizations of them. And we also investigate some relation between compact set-valued functionals and compact set-valued Choquet integrals.
The present paper is devoted to self-adjoint cyclically compact operators on Hilbert-Kaplansky module over a ring of bounded measurable functions. The spectral theorem for such a class of operators is given. We use more simple and constructive method, which allowed to apply this result to compact operators relative to von Neumann algebras. Namely, a general form of compact operators relative to a type I von Neumann algebra is given.
