A Controller Area Network (CAN) is a serial communication protocol that is highly reliable and efficient in many aspects, such as wiring cost and space, system flexibility, and network maintenance. Therefore, it is chosen for the communication protocol between a single chip controller based on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and peripheral devices. In this paper, the design and implementation of CAN IP, which is written in VHSIC Hardware Description Language (VHDL), is presented. The implemented CAN IP is based on the CAN 2.0A specification. The CAN IP consists of three processes: clock generator, bit timing, and bit streaming. The clock generator process generates a time quantum clock. The bit timing process does synchronization, receives bits from the Rx port, and transmits bits to the Tx port. The bit streaming process generates a bit stream, which is made from a message received from a micro controller subsystem, receives a bit stream from the bit timing process, and handles errors depending on the state of the CAN node and CAN message fields. The implemented CAN IP is synthesized and downloaded into SmartFusion FPGA. Simulations using ModelSim and chip test results show that the implemented CAN IP conforms to the CAN 2.0A specification.

We have used SMS to exchange messages between mobile phones. Since the network evolved to the ALL-IP network, the next generation messaging service, RCS, has emerged to the market. Because SMS and RCS coexist, we need to inter-work the messages between SMS users and RCS users. This paper introduces a message inter-working framework(MIWF) that can inter-work SMS and RCS without changing end user's UX. It defines the call flows between the network equipment and MIWF. Also, it shows how MIWF converts messages between 3 protocols. Performance evaluation proves that MIWF does not add loads to the existing network.

Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs) operating in the military for various purposes are designed to transmit information collected according to the purpose to GCS(Ground Control System), and to transmit/receive the vehicle's operational control and status information using wireless communication(or datalink). Currently, the military UAV systems in operation in Korea use unique communication methods, protocols, and message structures for each system. In this paper, we analyze the TM/TC data protocol of two types of military UAV systems currently under development and propose a more efficient TM/TC message design scheme in wireless communication(or datalink) environment. And we will discuss issues to be considered for standardization of technology for ensuring interoperability with many UAVs or newly introduced UAV systems.
In Korea, food-risk shock announcements are made one or more times annually; such as last September, 2010 when Seoul City revealed a very high concentration of cadmium in small octopus intestines sold in Korea. As a result, consumers avoided eating domestic as well as imported small octopus. Fishermen protested against Seoul city; however, the Korean Food and Drug Administration (KFDA) announced that small octopus intestines pose no safety risk. The conflict between KFDA and Seoul City on the safety of small octopus intestines amplified the confusion of consumers. The small octopus cadmium shock resembled previous food-risk shocks in many respects. Effective risk communication is important in resolving food risk shocks as risk affects people case-by-case; for example people who do not eat small octopus intestines should not be at any risk, but those who do enjoy small octopus intestines, especially one more times per week, could be at risk. Therefore, it is necessary to communicate different risk messages to people or groups with different eating habits. From this point of view, the risk message conveyed by the KFDA on small octopus intestines was not appropriate.

In the contemporary world, the breakthrough of the ultra-modern technologies has been blessed with the camera. This device has become omnipresent either integrated on with other devices such as smartphones, notebooks, laptops, handheld devices and so on. In addition, digital signage, display and monitors have also become very widespread around us everywhere. These types of scenarios have made imaginable to imagine about the consuming of the unused resources. The dual use of displayed contents can make it possible to use it as an advertisement as well as a transmitter for camera based communication. In this study, a digital watermarking algorithm based communication method has been analyzed. We have introduced Binary Pattern (BP) based a new message extracting algorithm to extract message in an efficient way from the watermarked image compared to other algorithms. Besides, the previous works using camera and display have been illustrated using comparative analysis. This paper has demonstrated an advantageous overview using the experimental results which reveals that the proposed methodology significantly reduces the complexity while augmenting the advantages of the proposed scheme. Moreover, the simulation results have shown the advantages of the proposed scheme over the other schemes.

From the reciprocal connection by this Internet network researchs about the efficiency improvement of the whole system is accomplished with the method which reduces delays in message transmission. From here, we will do a comparative study between the user data program protocol (UDP) and the zero copy which does not use the buffer cache to fine out the valid method to improve the efficiency. In this thesis, I will change the message copy from execution process of the buffer cache of the TCP/IP on Unix OS with process on Linux OS. The object of conversion is to show you that the zero copy which doesn't use the buffer cache from transfer control class improves the communication efficiency.

As the greater interests are focused onto wireless message transfer, wireless data base access and mobile computing the techniques for integrating various dat a services into the mobile communication systems are seriously needed. In this paper we propose a traffic handing scheme to provide mixed media services more effectively, and analyze is performance. The proposed scheme was found to improve data performances and, regardless of varying data traffic load, provide acceptable level of blocking rate to voice services simultaneouly. Also it is more effective for message-oriented data services.

With the rapid spread of mobile phones, users are continuously interested in using the mobile phone in connection with personal activities. Also, increasingly users want to share (transmit and receive) and save data more easily and simply in the mobile environment. This paper suggests motion recognition of mobile phone to share personal information with any people located within a certain distance using location-based service with GCM service. The suggested application is based on Google Cloud Messaging which enables asynchronous communication with the mobile applications executed in Android operating system. The requirements of light-weight mechanism can be satisfied as it is possible to access sharing of personal information easily, simply and in real time through all mobile devices anywhere.
Multipath makes clear message transfer difficult in the underwater communication. To solve this problem, we propose a new method producing proper MFSP (Modulation Frequency Shift Period) which could be obtained by calculating time delay caused by different path from a transmitter to a receiver. At the transmitter end, messages were divided according to the size of the MFSP and transmitted accordingly alternating Frequency. At the receiver end, the received messages were demodulated in order to recover the original message by the adaptive BISMO algorithm which is constructed at the algorithm design stage. Adaptive MFSP and estimated BER (Bit Error Rate) were calculated through simulation test.
This paper aims to examine the third-person effect(TPE) of hate comments on online news, and analyze how the issue-relevant audience factors as well as the characteristics of the online message have influence on the TPE. More specifically, based on the distinction between hateful and logical comments regarding the issue of illegal immigration, the authors have conducted an online experiment that compares how the message-related features, i.e., ways of expressing the ideas, lead to the difference in TPE. Analysis was also conducted with regards to how political orientation and discriminatory predisposition to immigrants among the audiences, have different impacts on the TPE. The 479 participants in the experiments were randomly assigned to experimental group(exposed to hate comments) or control group(exposed to logical comments). The results reveal that the TPE of hate comments is higher than that of logical message. The same message proved to be more effective for news users with liberal orientation and discriminatory predisposition. The significance of this paper lies in that it has examined the effect of online hate comments in a rigorous experimental setting. Also the research further elaborated on the audience-related variables, for which the previous studies tended to focus those on the general psychological level rather than relate them more specifically to the issues.
