Single Frequency GPS Relative Navigation for Autonomous Rendezvous and Docking Mission of Low-Earth Orbit Cube-Satellites

  • This paper addressed a relative navigation method for autonomous rendezvous and docking of cube-satellites using single frequency Differential GPS (DGPS) under the intermittent communication between satellites. Since the ionospheric error of GPS measurement is variable depending on the visible satellites, a few meters error of relative navigation is occurred in the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) environment. Therefore, it is essential to remove the ionospheric error to perform relative navigation. Besides, an intermittent communication period for receiving GPS measurements of the target satellite is limited for getting information every sampling time. To solve this problem, a method combining range domain DGPS and orbit propagation is proposed in this paper. The proposed method improves the performance of DGPS by using Hatch filter and solves an intermittent communication problem by estimating the relative position and velocity using Hill-Clohessy-Wiltshire Equation. Through the simulation, it is verified that the suggested algorithm provides the relative position error within RMS 0.5 m and the relative velocity error within RMS 3 cm/s. Furthermore, it has the advantage that it is suitable for real-time implementation using single-frequency GPS measurements and is computationally efficient.

An Effective Decoding Algorithm of LDPC Codes with Lowering Error Floors (낮은 에러 플로어(error floor)를 사용한 효과적인 LDPC 복호 알고리듬)

  • In this paper, in order to improve performance of LDPC codes, we propose an effective algorithm with lowering error floor of LDPC codes. This method is done by breaking trapping sets, mostly caused by an undesirable structure. This algorithm is not need to observe all the errors, only need to break the trapping sets, to effect the effectiveness. Simulation results show that its performance can be significantly improved with this decoding algorithm.

  • In this paper, we show new method to find error locations of 2 eight bit symbol errors for 2 error correcting Reed-Solomon decoder. New design is much faster and has much simpler logic circuit than the former design method. This optimization was possible by partitioning the 8 bit operations into 4 bit arithgmatic and logic operations. This Reed Solomon decoder can be used for data protection of almost all digital communication and consumer electronic devices.

  • WSN acts as an effective tool for tracking the large scale environments. In such environment, the battery life of the sensor networks is limited due to collection of the data, usage of sensing, computation and communication. To resolve this, a mobile robot is presented to identify the data present in the partitioned sensor networks and passed onto the sink. In novel data collection algorithm, the performance of the data collecting operation is reduced because mobile robot can be used only within the limited range. To enhance the data collection in a changing environment, Non Linear Error Identifier (NLEI) algorithm has been developed and presented in this paper to configure the robot by means of error models which are non-linear. Experimental evaluation has been conducted to estimate the performance of the proposed NLEI and it has been observed that the proposed NLEI algorithm increases the error correction rate upto 42% and efficiency upto 60%.

  • Phase errors of arrayed waveguide degrade the performance of AWG router, especially for dense WDM system. So it is necessary to measure the phase error and to compensate. The analysis method of the interference signal from the low coherence interferometer to measure the path length difference phase error is studied. The interference signal generated assuming the intentional path length difference errors of 0.1$\sim$0.4${\mu}m$ are analyzed and the results show that the path length difference phase error of ${\Delta}L$ within ${\pm}14^{\circ}$ of sampling phase error can be accurately measured.

  • The block error probabilities of noncoherent frequency shift keying in a Nakagami fading channel are presented in this papaer. The channel fading speed, show or fast. is consider in evaluating block error probabilities. The effectiveness of diversity combing and error correction coding in improving block error performance is examined. The effect of cochannel interference on block error performance is also studied in this paper.

  • A Study is presented showing the effect of carrier phase error on the error-rate of a PR shaped SQAM digital radio system. A simple upper bound on the probability of error as a function of phase error is derived and compared to one another. The result is that if carrier phase error is less than 3 there is no serious degradation.

  • Compressed video bitstreams are intended for real-time transmission over communication networks. Because video compression algorithms eliminate the temporal, spatial, and statistical redundancies, the coded video bitstreams are very sensitive to transmission errors. We propose an error resilient video coding technique to limit the effect of error propagation in low bit-rate video coding. The success of error resilient coding techniques relies on how accurately the transmission errors can be detected. To detect the transmission error, we propose a very simple error detection technique based on data hiding Next, we conceal the corrupted MB data using intra MB refresh and motion compensation with the estimated motion vector and compare the simulation results. This method will be useful in video communication in error Prone environment such as WCDMA networks.

  • Now the CAN(controller Area Network) is using electronic modules as a serial communication which is very robust to noise. Especially the CAN is using for automotive part that very popular in which automotive electronic control module, engine controller unit, sensor modules, etc. but the CAN has the order of priority to linking node and also has fault confinement so using in these features that is applied to in factory automation product line. The CAN communication is basically very robust to electric noise so varied applying to others part. In this paper, we suggest to CAN interface for embedded system that is possible for error detection using two CAN nodes on Hi-speed, full-CAN.

Performance of Interference Cancellation Scheme for Multihop Military Communication Systems (멀티 홉 군통신 시스템을 위한 간섭 제거 기법 성능 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyze co-channel interference cancellation performance to be generated in multi-hop military communication system. First, remove interference using zero-forcing (ZF) and minimum mean square error (MMSE) scheme as interference cancellation methods, and then obtain additional diversity gain and improve interference cancellation performance by applying successive interference cancellation (SIC). We consider Rayleigh fading channel and system performance is analyzed as respect of bit error probability. From simulation results, we confirm MMSE improves significantly BER performance than ZF in multi-hop wireless network environment. It is also confirmed ZF and MMSE schemes applying SIC algorithm have better performance comparing to the existing schemes. Therefore, MMSE-SIC method can provide more reliable signal transmission in the multi-hop military communication system.
